Cables: U.S. Funded Syrian Opposition

In Syria, newly released diplomatic cables from the online whistleblower
Wiki Leaks show the United States has secretly financed Syrian
opposition groups and activities since at least 2005. The funding has
gone to a number of projects, including the London-based satellite
channel, Barada TV.
