Thousands to Gather for Appalachia Rising in DC

And thousands of opponents of mountaintop coal removal are gathering in
Washington this weekend for Appalachia Rising. Organizers are calling
for the Obama administration to abolish mountaintop removal mining and
immediately veto the proposed Spruce Mine project.
