Clashes Erupt After Settler Guard Kills Palestinian in East Jerusalem

Meanwhile, in East Jerusalem, clashes erupted Wednesday after an Israeli
security guard shot one Palestinian dead and wounded two others. The
slain victim was a thirty-two-year-old man with five children. The
security guard works for an Israeli settlement in the Arab neighborhood
of Silwan. Palestinian Authority spokesperson Ghassan Khatib called the
shooting a violent escalation.
