White House Hosts Insurance Execs, Dems on Healthcare

The White House played host to a group of insurance executives on
Thursday, pressuring them over the rising cost of healthcare premiums
and urging their endorsement of President Obama’s healthcare reform
initiative. Obama read a letter from a cancer patient in Ohio who said
she can no longer afford the cost of medical care. The meeting came as
Obama hosted a separate gathering with congressional Democrats, urging
them to pass legislation before he leaves for a foreign trip on March
18th.
