Report: 230 Civilians Killed in Darfur

In Sudan, rebels in Darfur say more than 230 civilians have been killed
by Sudanese troops over the past week. The rebel group known as the
Sudan Liberation Army said government aircraft have been repeatedly
bombing the area of Jebel Marra. The United Nations has not been able to
confirm the civilian casualties, because the UN does not have access to
the region. A French aid agency said the recent fighting had forced
100,000 civilians to flee their homes.
