Senate Delays Vote on Ratifying Russia Nuke Treaty

Senate Democrats have delayed a vote on ratifying the new Strategic Arms
Reduction Treaty signed with Russia earlier this year. The treaty calls
for the US and Russia to cut their deployed arsenals to 1,550 nuclear
warheads and 700 missile silos and bombers each. Senate Foreign
Relations Committee chair John Kerry said the vote will have to come
later in the year to address Republican demands on preserving nuclear
spending.
