US Deported Record 393,000 in 2009

New figures show the US deported over 393,000 foreign nationals in 2009,
a record high for the seventh consecutive year. The Department of
Homeland Security says just over a quarter of the deportees had been
convicted of criminal offenses. Seventy-two percent of the total number
were undocumented immigrants from neighboring Mexico.
