Fmr. GOP Senator Ted Stevens Dies in Plane Crash

And former Republican Senator Ted Stevens has died in a plane crash in
Alaska, his home state. Four others also died in the crash. Stevens was
eighty-six years old. He served in the Senate for forty years until
narrowly losing his seat in the November 2008 elections, just days after
being convicted on federal ethics charges.
