September 9, 2009 Vietnam: US Withholding Agent Orange Cleanup Aid ------------------------------------------------ Vietnam is accusing the US of delaying funding for the cleanup of an airport contaminated by the toxic chemical defoliant Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. Agent Orange has been linked to cancer, diabetes and birth defects among millions of Vietnamese as well as American veterans. Vietnamese officials say the US has held up funds to clean up the Da Nang airport, where US forces stored Agent Orange and loaded it onto warplanes. The accusation came at an annual meeting of US and Vietnamese officials on Agent Orange, the fourth session since 2006. .
