Obama Addresses Nation’s Schoolchildren

And President Obama delivered a speech Tuesday broadcast to millions of
schoolchildren across the United States. Several school districts in
Maryland, Texas, Virginia and other states chose not to broadcast the
speech amidst Republican accusations that Obama would attempt to
indoctrinate students. Obama focused his remarks on working hard and
getting an education.

President Obama: “You cannot drop out of school and just drop into a
good job. You’ve got to train for it and work for it and learn for it.
And this isn’t just important for your own life and your own future.
What you’re learning in school today will determine whether we as a
nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.”
