Uruguay Backs Adoption Rights for Gay Couples

In Uruguay, lawmakers have voted to grant adoption rights to same-sex
couples. Supporters call the legislation the first of its kind in Latin
America. The measure now goes to Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez for
his approval.
