Kerik Pleads Guilty Under Plea Deal

Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik has pleaded
guilty under a plea bargain to avoid three criminal trials. On Thursday,
Kerik pleaded guilty to lying to the White House when he was nominated
to head the Department of Homeland Security and said he would also admit
to tax crimes. Prosecutors have recommended a sentence of up to
thirty-three months in prison.
