US to Return Ambassador to Syria
--------------------------------



The Obama administration says it plans to return a US ambassador to
Syria after a four-year absence. The Bush administration withdrew its
ambassador in 2005 after the assassination of former Lebanese Prime
Minister Rafiq al-Hariri. The Syrian government has denied allegations
of involvement in Hariri’s death.
