July 30, 2009 House Panel OKs Measure to End Drug Sentencing Disparity -------------------------------------------------------- The House Judiciary Committee has approved a measure that would end the disparity in sentencing between offenses for crack and powder cocaine. The Fairness in Cocaine Sentencing Act of 2009 would remove the five-year minimum sentence for possessing crack cocaine. The bill now moves to a vote by the full House. .
