Sri Lankan Military Take Rebel Capital

The Sri Lankan military has captured the de facto rebel capital
Kilinochchi. The military has also taken over other strongholds of the
Tamil Tigers. For twenty-six years the rebels have been fighting for a
separate homeland in the north and east of the South Asian island.
