LA to Pay $13M Settlement for May Day Crackdown

In Los Angeles, the city council has agreed to pay a nearly $13 million
settlement to immigration activists and bystanders injured during the
LAPD’s crackdown on a May Day rally in Mac Arthur Park in 2007. Police
with riot guns fired hundreds of rubber bullets, shot tear gas and
clubbed protesters and journalists during the crackdown.
