House Panel Investigates Contractors for Insurgent Payments

A House oversight subcommittee, meanwhile, has opened a probe into
allegations Pentagon contractors have paid Afghan insurgent groups to
protect US supply routes from attack. A recent report in The Nation
magazine said ten percent of the Pentagon’s logistics contracts consist
of payments to the Taliban.
