Red Cross: “Hundreds” Killed or Wounded in Sri Lanka Fighting

In Sri Lanka, the Red Cross is warning scores of civilians have been
killed or wounded in the latest military attacks on the remaining Tamil
Tiger stronghold. Tens of thousands remain trapped between the
crossfire. In a statement, the Red Cross said it couldn’t precisely
identify the number of civilian casualties but said they are in the
“hundreds.”
