Somalia Ceasefire Deal Reached

In news from Africa, US-backed Ethiopian troops are scheduled to begin a
phased withdrawal from Somalia on Nov. 21 under a ceasefire agreement
between Somalia’s transitional government and one faction of Islamist
rebels. A ceasefire is set to begin on November 5. Thousands of
civilians have been killed in Somalia since the Ethiopian invasion in
December 2006.
