Pakistan to Arm Tribal Fighters

Meanwhile, the Washington Post reports Pakistan plans to arm tens of
thousands of tribal fighters to take on Taliban forces in its western
border region. The strategy would replicate the US backing of the Sunni
“Awakening” movement in Iraq. A group of US military trainers began
operating inside Pakistan last month.
