Jobless Claims Hit 16-Year High

In labor news, the number of Americans to have recently lost their jobs
has reached its highest level since the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
According to the Department of Labor, jobless claims last week increased
by 32,000 to 516,000. It’s only the second time since 1992 that claims
have topped 500,000.
