Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) Defeated

And in Louisiana, Democratic Congressman William Jefferson has lost his
bid for a tenth term in office. Jefferson lost to Republican lawyer Anh
“Joseph” Cao, who will become the first Vietnamese American to serve in
Congress. Last year, Jefferson was indicted for bribery, racketeering,
money laundering and obstruction of justice. Green Party candidate Malik
Rahim placed third in the race.
