The problems usually fall into two groups: "I can send mail, but I can't receive mail." and "I can receive mail, but I can't send mail." Being able to send mail means that MacTCP and LeeMail are both configured properly. Not being able to receive mail usually stems from the fact that the machine trying to send mail to you doesn't know your mac's IP address. This could be because you use dynmamic addressing (with a router such as a Cayman Gatorbox), in which case you're out of luck, unless you can get a fixed IP address assigned to you. Another possible cause is that your mac isn't in the host table of the sending machine, in which case you should contact your local system administrator to have your mac's IP address added to the host table. If you can receive mail, then it means that your mac's IP address is properly known to the sending machine. If you can't send mail (which usually causes the error message "couldn't connect to the machine you're trying to send mail to"), then two things could be at fault: the default nameserver specified in the MacTCP control panel is incorrect, or the router in the LeeMail settings is incorrect. These two hosts may be identical. Please send me mail if you're having any trouble! A bug in LeeMail 1.1 that causes LeeMail to hang in an infinite loop when replying to a mail message that has >= 79 non-breaking characters (i.e. some people have a line of = in their .sigs). LeeMail is currently at version 1.1.2. Changes from 1.1 include fixing the bug described above interpretation of tabs when reading mail a smaller Received Mail window a Select All command a Forward command no "Re: Re: Re: Re: Subject" lines addresses such as "laf@asgard@mbunix.mitre.org" are changed to "laf%asgard@mbunix.mitre.org" to help out some VMS users correct window reordering when LeeMail is resumed Registered LeeMail users should have already received 1.1.2 and will continue to received updates as they are released. Thanks! Lee Fyock laf@mitre.org .
