Artisto 1.41 Tom Taylor 3707 Poinciana Dr. #137 Santa Clara, CA 95051 (408) 247-9055 Differences between version 1.41 and earlier versions: € Artisto now works correctly with FullPaint. € Small selections cut from Artisto and pasted into FullPaint or MacPaint now act as if they had been selected with a lasso instead of the rectangle. € Fixes a bug of clearing the whole page when opening a small MacPaint document. € Artisto now works on a Mac XL. € Double-clicking the selection rectangle tool will select the smallest rectangle that encloses the whole image. € Moving the document around with the hand tool no longer turns off the current selection. Artisto is a desk accessory of the "Paint Cutter" variety. Artisto allows you to open up a MacPaint document from inside any program that supports desk accessories and select any portion of the image and copy it to the clipboard. From the clipboard, the graphic can be pasted into an application. Notice: You must have a 512k (or larger) Mac in order to use this desk accessory. Don't try using it on a 128k Mac or under a 128k Switcher partition. Artisto supports two tools: a hand for moving the image around and a selection tool for selecting a portion of the MacPaint image. The hand works exactly like the hand in MacPaint. It allows you to move around in the whole MacPaint image very quickly. Double-click on the hand icon to enter "show page" mode (just like MacPaint). The selection tool works just like it does in MacPaint except that if you drag outside the borders of the Artisto window, the image will automatically scroll. Double-click on the selection tool to select the whole image on the document. Use the "Copy" command under the application program's Edit menu or command-C to copy the selected image to the clipboard. Generally, I close Artisto before pasting the image into the desired document. You can toggle between the two tools without selecting the other tool by holding down the shift or option key. Artisto puts up its own menu in the menu bar. Presently, the menu only has two options: Open and Show Page. Selecting Open brings up the mini-finder and allows you look at (and copy selections from, if desired) any MacPaint document on any disk. The Show Page command displays the whole document on the screen (alα MacPaint) and allows you to select which portion is visible on the screen. I originally wrote this program because I was having a tough time trying to place a complete screen dump into Microsoft Word. I had to cut the screen dump into sections and put the pieces together. It turned out to be a major pain because the pieces wouldn't print together on the Laserwriter without overlapping them on the screen. Anyway, I wrote this desk accessory to overcome those problems. Artisto is written in Consulair C version 4.5 If you use Artisto and find it helpful, please send a donation ($5 or $10??). If you find any bugs or would like to suggest changes, be sure to let me know! lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll .
