- - Alpha Chart - - Help Version: 1 Alpha Chart is used to create and manipulate business charts and graphs based on data the user provides. Alpha Chart is a user-friendly program that allows menu commands to be entered either from a keyboard or pressing a button on a mouse. If a mouse is used, the right most button is pressed which selects the option the cursor hand is currently positioned at. If the keyboard is to be used, the first letter of the menu selection may be pressed. Note that upper case letters are generally used. If a three button mouse is being used, the left button may be used as a 'NO' response, the middle button may be used as a 'YES' response, and the right button used for menu selections. To help as a shortcut in releasing menus, the mouse may be positioned and clicked at the top main command line. This will automatically release all nested menus. GRAPHS are retrieved, updated and stored using the FILING menu. GRAPHS are created, edited, displayed, and printed using the GRAPHING menu. Various user options may be set using the OPTIONS menu. An automatic demonstration may be selected from the SPECIAL menu. When the AUTOMATIC DIRECTORY option is enabled, the file name may be selected by pressing the MOUSE BUTTON. If the MOUSE BUTTON is pressed a second time, the file name is unselected. After releasing from the directory menu, the file name is automatically filled in the input field. A carriage return is then required to continue. When entering a file name or text string field, the left arrow may be pressed to 'end-out' or go back to the previous menu. Also, AlphaVUE control editing keys may be used to edit the field. When an OK box prompt is displayed, a 'Y'es or 'N'o response may be entered. The MOUSE may also be clicked within the box. The following types of graphs may be selected. Line Chart Stacked Bar Chart X-Y Graph Bar Chart Area Graph Pie Chart There are many graph parameters that may be selected and edited in order to customize your own graph. When printing graphs, the fields in the printing menu may be changed by clicking on the word or by typing the beginning letter of the word (i.e. 'G', 'P', 'D', and 'O'.) NOTE: An existing graph must be loaded prior to printing. For information on script processing, please refer to the manual. Have FUN and create your own custom GRAPHS... .
