During the course of a TALKTO session, tell the computer you are connected to that you want to do a YMODEM-Batch download, then switch to the command mode of TALKTO and type ".YRECV" (don't type the quotes, of course). YRECV will keep you posted of the status of the transfer at all times. It will tell you the name of the file currently being received, how many bytes have been received, and how many bytes are left to go. Because YRECV was designed to transfer with non-Alpha Micro computers, it may change the filenames being received to become valid AMOS filenames. If this happens, YRECV will report both the original as well as the filename it changed it to. If you need to abort the transfer, just hit control-C. YRECV will attempt to inform the other computer that you've aborted the transfer, and then it will return you to the command mode of TALKTO. There are a wide variety of YMODEM-Batch implementantions out there, so YRECV may not be able to successfully abort the other computer's transfer routine. If this happens, try sending control-X to the other computer every couple seconds. This SHOULD eventually get it to terminate its end of the transfer. Erik Petrich Microlink Computing Systems, Inc. .
