Alpha Base fix for AM3000's by: Randall C. Haan Mail box: HAAN/AM If you are an AM3000 owner with Metropolis/Alpha Base 7.2C with operating system 1.4(189)-1 and are haveing trouble with applications like Super Vue, TALKTO, AUTOLOG, Simpli File, Look and the like dying quick and miserable deaths (i.e. Address error at @)*&^*&) lend an ear(((((((((. In the LITFIL account is a program called AFIXIT.LIT that will monitor your system and wait for Alpha Base to KILL IT! It will then attempt to restore life to your system. It can be run in a background job or on any terminal. Every 1 second it checks to see if a special place in the monitor has been steped on and if it has fixes it and reports the date & time and number of times that it has performed such an opperation. I have a system in Portland that would die once every 3 weeks on the average, one in Boise that would die every 20min, another system in portland dies twice a day. Its not the perfect solution but it will save a System Reset! The system in Boise will almost certianly die if FUNCT 6-9,0 are pressed. I belive FLPCTL is having its way with the opperating system on a regualr basis!!!! Have Fun! R. .
