REPLCT.DOC Kevin Wills and Ed Huffman 5/26/87 HUFFMAN LABORATORIES 4630 Indiana St., Unit 1 Golden, CO 80403 303-278-4455 COPY FINDER Files are often duplicated for one reason or another. Sometimes this duplication is intentional, as in backing-up one disk onto another. Occasionally however, files will be temporarily duplicated with each copy requiring as much disk space as the original. While this is not ordinarily a problem, it can become one if the system is tight on disk space and these temporary replications are allowed to accumulate excessively. The software contained in the following files: REPLCT.CMD Generate REPLCT.BAS --------> REPLCT.LST & REPLCT.HSH REPLCT.RUN is useful for locating file replications by generating a directory file sorted by hash values and then listing files with identical hash values. A sample directory command is located in REPLCT.CMD and an explantion precedes REPLCT.BAS. Although the sorting and list generation is done in BASIC, its execution speed is blinding when compared to the amount of time required for AMOS to compute the hash values. To use the software; 1. using VUE, edit REPLCT.CMD to generate the desired directory file. 2. at AMOS command level, type REPLCT 3. print REPLCT.LST .
