Draw Phase - In the Draw Phase, one card is drawn from the deck 2.) Standby Phase - In this phase you can choose to activate spells or other effects. 3.) Main Phase 1 - Send orders to cards in your hand or on the field. Such as Summon/Special Summon, Set, Fusion, Activate, etc. 4.) Battle Phase - You can have any Monster that you have placed in Attack Position attack. 5.) Main Phase 2 - Main Phase to is basically the same as MP1 except you can't send orders to cards you have already sent orders to in MP1 or in the Battle Phase. 6.) End Phase - After you have done all you can in MP1,BP,and MP2 it is time for your turn to end. ---------- 4B. Cards ---------- Normal Monster Cards - One normal monster can be summoned during the main phase of each turn. Level 5 or higher monsters can only be summoned by offering either 1 or 2 other monsters as tributes. The card color for Normal Monsters is DARK YELLOW Fusion Monster Cards - Fusion Monsters are cards that can be Summoned using 2 or more Fusion Material Monsters and the spell card Polymerization. Since Fusion Monsters are special summoned you can still use a normal summon or a Tribute Summon to summon another monster in the same turn. These cards are forced to return to your Main Deck as a result of a Monster Effect, they are returned to your Fusion Deck not your hand. The card color for Fusion Monsters is BLUE-VIOLET Ritual Monster Cards - Ritual Monsters are cards that can only be summoned by the Ritual Spell card and enough monsters to tribute for the conditons of getting the monster out on the field. The card color for Ritual Monsters is BLUE Effect Monster Cards - Effect Monster cards are cards that have special effects. To see the effects of these cards please for the card info for that specific card. The different types of effects are: Flip Effects: The effect is activated when the card is flipped from face down to face up. It is also activated if the card is flipped by an attack or the effects of a spell. Continuous Effects: This type stays on the field as long as the card remains face up on the field. The effect stops once it is changed from face up to face down. Cost Effects: This type is active by discarding your hand or by paying life points (LP). Costs are different for each card. Trigger Effects: Active when direct damage is inflicted on your opponent or when some other specific requirement indicated on the card is fullfilled. Multi-Trigger Effects: This type of effect can be activated during an opponents turn. Discarding the card from your hand during the Battle Phase activates the effect. "Kuriboh" is an example of this type of card. --------------------- 4C. If both player's LP reaches 0 then the duel is considered a Draw. 3.) If either player's Deck runs out of cards, the first player unable to draw a card loses the duel. 4.) If at any time in a duel either player holds all 5 pieces of the Exodia Series in their hand, that player wins the duel. Even if the player draws these 5 cards at the beginning of a duel, that player is the winner immediately after the Duel begins. 5.)If a Player has Destiny Board and all 4 Spirit Messages on his or her field, that player wins the duel. ----------------------------- 4E. Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not much of a walkthrough per-say as this game has no story but you will find info here to help you with each individual duelist as well as strategies for beginning players. Yugi Grandpa - He runs an exodia deck which can be tough to crack even for experienced duelists he also loves traps I would say lay down the law with Imperial order early on and you'll have dealt with half the problem. There is one other way which is quite a bit riskier,if you have any of the jars playing them could mess with him a bit by forcing the pieces to be summoned to the field and then you destroy them, the two ways this could be bad is one backup soldier could return the pieces to his hand(anything but exodia's head) two it lets him get through his deck faster. - (AlphaWolf20) Shimon Tristen - Goblin attack forces are this guy's faviorite card and it can be difficult to build a defense against them if you really want to try to I guess a millenium shield would work but man eater bugs would make sure he can't strike with the goblin attack force again. - (AlphaWolf20) Tea - Lots of Lifepoint restoration cards and everything feminine about duelmonsters is this Lady's game while St Joan can be a threat you've definitly faced more dangerous foes then her in a duel. - (AlphaWolf20) Joey - I don't know what to say about him for the most part his time wizard destroys his own monsters more often then yours he's a duelist with very few surprises in store. - (AlphaWolf20) Bakura - When I go agaisnt him he loves to play what I call the "Power-Up" game in which he uses various power-up cards suck as Mage Power, Axe of Despair, and United we stand on his favorite card Maha Vailo which also gets powered up for each power-up card equipped to it. He is pretty crafty with a few traps here and there. The best thing to counter this would be Man-Eater Bug or Raigeki and Harpies Feather Duster. Shadi Mako - Water boy uses umi and tornado wall along with some powerful fishies however keeping a feather duster or a different kind of field affect card can really mess with him.IMPORTANT:note that Legendary ocean counts as umi although I'm not sure if it counts enough for tornado wall but why take the chance right? - (AlphaWolf20) Weevil Rex Raptor - Goes basically with a beatdown strategy from what I noticed...sad thing is I don't think he really has the muscle cards to go with that.If you prepared your deck at all in the battles with Machine Duelists you should have no problem knocking him all the way back to the stoneage. - (AlphaWolf20) Bonz - A crafty little duelist he seems to have a fairly balanced deck as far as trap and magic cards go,however he enjoys going with gravity bind and then equips some axes of despair to a 3 star monster making it a real terror. There is one thing to keep in mind, the first is no matter how strong the monster is it will still answer to a man eater bug, Keep lots of mystical space typhoons if possible and hold onto your feather duster til you need it and you should be able to burry him. - (AlphaWolf20) Bandit Keith Pegasus - Is a very intresting duelist to say the least. He goes with toon world and various other life point affecting traps,my advice is keep up the pressure and he should be alot easier then most think. - (AlphaWolf20) Mai Kaiba - Runs a beatdown deck his infamous deck has the legendary blue eyes white dragon but I've rarely seen him actually get it out this is another duel where if you keep the pressure heavy he will not be able to stand. - (AlphaWolf20) Rare Hunter - Rare Hunter, I can't really describe his style but I can say that he will get Exodia out as quick as he possibly can. If you have cards that can make him discard cards in his hand or if you can remove or stop him from using jar of greed then you have a a chance against him and the odds are more in your favor if you have considerably strong monsters in your deck also. Strings Arkana - In my duels against Arkana I can say that his favorite cards to play is Widespread Ruin and Fairy Box. Those are two cards that you must try to avoid. Especially the Widespread Ruin because that trap can be used to get rid of your Highest Atk Monster on the field. The card I find most useful in this scenario would be Royal Decree. Harpies Feather Duster would also come in handy because you can wipe those cards out of existance before he has a chance to use them. Espa Roba Lumis & Umbra Marik Ishizu Odion - Odion enjoys springing trap cards on you. If you have Royal Decree in your deck it will come in handy in a duel against him. Yami Marik - The main thing to look out for when dueling him is the Dark Hole card. He really loves to use that card so a few Magic Jammers would be wise to have because he does have ways of getting that card back such as using the Magician of Faith's flip effect. Yami Bakura Yami Yugi - Can be a huge pain or you can beat him in a few rounds it depends on his mood honestly you can really get a wide variety of rare cards from him, please look at the card locations part of this FAQ. He has some 1900 monsters that he makes full use of keep a magic jammer and anti-raigeki on the field at all times if possible to protect yourself from harpie's feather duster and raigeki. - (AlphaWolf20) Duel Machine 1 - Alot of fun as probably the first duel you'd face this one really isn't too threatening. Some good cards from him though, don't let him get his millenium shield out or it might be a very long duel. Keep your skull dice or rush recklessly on hand just in case he does get it out. - (AlphaWolf20) Duel Machine 2 - Another duelist who uses gravity bind and axes of despair beware and save your feather duster for the time he uses the gravity bind. - (AlphaWolf20) Duel Machine 3 - This one is extremely dangerous especially early on he runs a beatdown deck and has the cards to back it up when you go into your first duel with him you'll see what I mean. The good news is he has very few traps and affect monsters build up a defense and wait for him to drop his guard then strike. - (AlphaWolf20) Deck construction and destruction: Before you can destroy other people's decks you have to create your own. There are two possible decks that I know of that you can receive. One contains the Cosmo Queen, skull dice and Yami to just name a few the other one contains Legendary ocean, tri-horn dragon, and rush recklessly. The Best thing you can do for yourself is know what cards are in your deck at all times especially at the beginning the opponents decks hold enough surprises why should your own deck be another surprise? The second thing is find a theme for your deck especially at the beginning going with one specific card type or two that relate to each other will help your deck stay focused on one goal. To the ones who got Yami,I also had that deck it just seemed to move into a fiend and spellcaster deck and I'm still winning duels, that seemed to work for me but another important note is to find what works for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.) Card Locations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To get cards in this game you must when duels and at the end of a duel you get to choose from one of the three egyptian god statues Slifer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor, and The Winged Dragon of Ra. Cards on this list can be received from this packs after so many duels with the character in single mode so some of you may receive a certain card on your 20th duel while others might not see it until many duels later. But there are some that do stand out and will be the same or near same for most people. The following format will be used: Duelist - Name of Card - Statue Name - (duel type) - (Info Submitted By*) *Info Submitted By = The name of the person that has contributed this information if there is no name then the card info is provided by me. Secrets ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ Secret #1 Play with Opponents Decks ------------------------------------ Hold X it rolls the character portraits over to a Deck Selection Screen where you can use anyones deck. Your own decks are listed at the end as I II and III or you can select any of the other characters and use their deck against anyone in the single duel - Posted on Gamefaqs by Deezul To be able to pick a choice of whoever's deck you want to use, press and hold down the [X] button as you use left and right on the D-pad to select whose deck u want to use. Let go of the [X] button on your selection, then choose who you want to duel like normal. Note that you'll have to re-pick a character's deck if you want to continue playing with it, because it doesn't save these settings so it'll go back to using your own deck after each duel. For those of you that can't get it to work, have you tried hitting the [BACK] button (the button right next to the [START] button) on your xbox controller? It should show a screen that tells you what the buttons do. - Posted on Gamefaqs by moshun Also note that so far it seems this can only be done after all tiers have been unlocked in triple duel. So far it doesn't seem to matter about how many characters are in single duel. It's just if someone is missing from that mode then you can't choose their deck. It has been pointed out that as long as the following 2 conditons have been met you can play with opponent decks. 1. You have to complete all the tier duels 2. *Important* you have to go through the credits one time to activate the deck select mode. This info was posted on Gamefaqs by Gamelord26 ----------------------------------------- Secret #2 Change Background of Main Menu ----------------------------------------- Press X at the screen where you choose single or triple duel. Then you can change the background. - Posted on Gamefaqs by DaChronic Take note that the backgrounds that you can select are only available if you actually have that card. So if you do not have the card of a particular background then it will not be selectable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.)
