Well I was, and hearing these songs again brings me back to a time when the world was a much more innocent and peaceful place. Or was it? As I remember, we did live through the "Cold War" and the fear of the atom bomb, which lead to the rise of nuclear monsters like Godzilla, Mothra, Aliens from Outer Space and an assortment of other radioactive creatures-yes, even zombies and juvenile delinquents. We hid under desk in school to protect ourselves from the nuclear blast, and bomb shelters stocked with food, water and other essentials were built in basements of suburban homes. At the same time another explosion was taking place. A new musical form called Rock and Roll burst upon the scene, shaking society at its core. The music represented a mixture of Rhythm and Blues with traditional pop, and for the first time black culture entered the white middle-class world. Add to that a rapidly emerging teenager with money to spend and a desire to feel the "Big Beat" and you have a revolution. I can only imagine the surprise of Stubbs the Zombie waking to the sounds of this new music. He would have heard "Earth Angel" by The Penguins, a doo-wop classic that was one of the early crossover hits, actually recorded in a garage. "My Boyfriend's Back" by The Angels would have introduced him to the girl group sound that was all over the airwaves in the early 60's. He surely would have seen Ricky Nelson at the end of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" singing "Lonesome Town." This was the first use of television as a medium to promote the sale of recorded music. From the small town of Clovis, New Mexico, he would have encountered the great Buddy Holly and experienced "Everyday." And from Nashville he would have met the Everly Brothers and been moved by their unique harmonies on "All I Have to Do Is Dream." These songs along with others are part of this wonderful album that captures an era unique in musical history. The artists on this soundtrack all have somehow found the passage back to the roots of the music, and like Stubbs, crossed time to bring to bring the past to life with amazing new recordings. Let the music take you back to a time when Rock and Roll was being born into a brave new world guided by AM transistor radios and governed by the three-minute single. Like Mr. Stubbs…It Lives! III) Credits The Story of Stubbs In 1933, Edward "Stubbs" Stubblefield was just another traveling salesman trying to "survive" during the days of The Great Depression. There was only one thing in his way of success, and that was a streak of bad luck dating back to his birth. Stubbs couldn't sell ice cream in the Sahara-let alone sell life insurance during the darkest days of the Great Depression. Speaking of which, Stubbs' depressing life came to an end, one hot summer when a would be customer unload a barrel of boomstick in to Stubbs' belly and buried him in a grave along the remote Pennsylvania Countryside. Finally Stubbs' would be able to rest in peace. Now, It's 1959 and that same countryside is littered with steel and machines, the futuristic city that is Punchbowl, Pennsylvania. Punchbowl is the city of Andrew Monday, a billionaire whose rise from poor orphan to worlds richest man has touched the world. Using advanced technology from top scientist at Monday Industries. Monday envisioned a city that will be inhabited by people in the distant year of 2000, where everyone will drive floating cars, and manual labor will be replaced by robots and machines. Now he's throwing an opening party so the world can see his vision. But all is not well in Punchbowl, something stirs between the iron and steel of the future. An ex-traveling salesman about to go on a new career of a funny, loving brain eating zombie that will gain the hearts of millions…and eat their brains as well At last, Stubbs has found his calling Thanks Gamefaqs-for all the game info you need Aspyr-for making one hell of a game Shout!
