"White Cracker" for some of the stats on the cop cars and SLF450X. ===================== 3 - Car Descriptions: ===================== These are just some short descriptions of the cars to help in choosing the rigth car for the right race. Also for people who don't know there are 2 terms I'll be using to refer to the handling, Grip and Drift. Grip means that car will grip the road when turning, and Drift means that the back end of the car will kind of slide around the turn, this will cause a spin if your not careful enough when corning. ===================================L.A.======================================== Car----------Description------------------------------------------------------- Citi---------The definitive street racing machine. Has average abilities, has pretty good acceleration and handling but low top speed. More of a grip type car. Emu----------Excellent on long freeway races, has a good top speed but lacks in acceleration and slightly in handling. More of a grip type car. Torrida------Sports coupe. Pretty good balance of accelertion, handling and top speed. More of a grip type car. 1971 Bestia--Muscle car. Good top speed and acceleration but kind of lacks in handling, more of drift type car. Interna------Nimble racer. Very good acceleration and handling. More of a grip type car even though it has rear wheel drive. It can drift a bit. Cohete-------Motorcycle. Very good acceleration, handling and top speed but easy to crash. I don't think bikes have a type, but can grip and drift well. Citi Turbo---Turbo version of the Citi. Better handling and top speed over the regular Citi. Kind of lacks in acceleration, more of a grip type car. Monstruo-----Powerful FR car, Fastest L.A. car in terms of top speed. Has good acceleration but is liable to spin around corners if your not careful. More of a drift type car. Jersey XS----Good acceleration and top speed. More of a grip type car even though it's rear wheel drive. It can coner without drifting. L.A. Cop-----Slowest of all the cop cars but it's the fastest L.A. car. Can gain speed while cornering. Good for ramming. More of a drift type car. ==================================Paris======================================== Car----------Description------------------------------------------------------- Boost--------Well balanced, has good handling that's coupled with a good top speed and good acceleration. More of a grip type car. Bryanston V--All around car, good acceleration, handling and top speed. More of a grip type car but can drift a little. Schneller V8-Has a very good top speed but suffers from not so good handling and kind of slow acceleration. More of a grip type car at low speeds but can drift at faster ones. Alarde-------Has very good handling and good acceleration but suffers from a kind of low top speed (compared to other paris cars). This car I think is like a drift/grip type car. It can take a turn a at almost full speed but it slides some in the process. Fripon X-----Has a good balance of top speed, handling and acceleration. More of a drift type car even though it has font wheel drive. Monsoni------Heavy motorcycle, just like the Cohete but with better top speed and acceleration. Has slighty less handling. Stadt--------Just like the Alarde it has very good handling and good acceleration but suffers from a kind of low top speed. More of a grip type car. Victory------Has very good acceleration with a good top speed. Drifts very well when cornering. More of a drift type car. Modo Prego---Very good top speed and acceleration but is liable to spin around corners if your not careful. More of a drift type car. Paris Cop----This police car has the best handling and also has good speed. It's a good all around car. More of a grip type car. ==================================Tokyo======================================== Car----------Description------------------------------------------------------- Lusso XT-----Very good top speed, paired with good acceleration, but it loses handling in the process. Can plow through traffic and not be effected. More of a grip type car through my experience. RSMC 15------Has a very good top speed with good acceleration but suffers in the handling category. More of a drift type car. Vortex 5-----Very good acceration and handling, but suffers from a kind of low top speed compared to other Tokyo cars. More of a grip type car. Saikou-------Has a very good top speed and acceleration. And has good handling. Can drift well around corners. More of a drift type car. Knight-------Has very good acceleration and handling with a good top speed. More of a grip type car but can drift good as well. Nousagi------The best of all the bikes. Has very good handling, acceleration and top speed. Saikou XS----Has very good acceleration and top speed. It has decent handling and can drift pretty good. More of a drift type car. Torque JX----Has a very good top speed and very good acceleration. Suffers in the handling department a little. More of a grip type car from experience with it. Veloci-------This car has it all. It has very good acceleration, top speed and handling. It drifts well around corners. More of a drift type car. Tokyo Cop----The fastest of all cop cars, has good acceleration and top speed. More of a drift type car. SLF450X------The fastest car in the game with a top speed of 249, which is the fastest the game allows. Thanks again to Darcy Talbot A.K.A. This is just a section to show what they are. Also the cars I have listed are what I see them as. Thanks. ================ 5 - Secret Cars: ================ Well some of these aren't really secret cars but they aren't unlocked by just doing carrer mode. Car---------------How it's unlocked-------------------------------------------- L.A. Cop Car------is unlocked by coming in first on all the circuit races in L.A. in ARCADE mode. Paris Cop Car-----is unlocked by the same method as the L.A. cop car but you have to do the races for Paris. Tokyo Cop Car-----is again unlocked by the same method but you have to do the races in Tokyo. SLF450X-----------This car is unlocked by getting 100% game completion. To get 100% basically just beat all of Carrer Mode and all the circuit races in Arcade Mode. ================ 6 - Racing Tips: ================ This game can get very fustrating at times, but one main tip I can give is to just not quit. Things have a funny way of working out, so sometimes even though you crash a lot you may be able to still pull off a win. Also complete the race the first few times you do it. This will help you get a feel for the whole course. This was one of my problems. I was so uptight about getting a good start when I finally got one I wouldn't know the second half of the course I would end up messing up then and still lose. This may seem like a stupid tip but just concentrate on racing. When your going down a long straight just concentrate on dodging the traffic and where the next check point is and don't worry how far ahead or how far behind the opponents are. The computer often makes mistakes so it's easy to gain on them, but not easy if your messing up as well. ================ 6 - Permissions: ================ This FAQ may be not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use.
