I thought it best to start out with a | |small FAQ rather than a large Guide/Walkthrough one. I decided to write | |this FAQ in response to numerous questions about the Fluorite Locations. | |I hope this helps those searching for all 30, and those that have yet to | |play the game. The layout of the FAQ is pretty simple. I decided to group| |the Fluorites by location, rather than number. If you don't know which | |area you are currently in, just hit the left thumbstick to bring up the | |map. It tells you what location you are in at the top of the screen. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------| | Contents | |----------|-------------------------| | | |1. I may be adding very small changes here and there,| |but nothing major. | | | |================ | |Febuary 17, 2002 | |================ | |I changed the layout of the FAQ a bit, and re-worded a bit of the text. | | | |============= | |July 29, 2003 | |============= | |Added new site with persmission to display this FAQ | |- http://www.cheats.de | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------------------| | 2. What are Fluorites? | |------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | | |What are Fluorites you say? Well that is a good question. Fluorites are | |small fluorescent rocks that are hidden all over the world of Genma | |Onimusha. Some are hidden so well; you will have to search several times | |to find them. Although at first they may seem useless, collecting all | |thirty will yield great rewards. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------| | 3. Und. Temple Fluorite Locations | |-----------------------------------|-------------------------------------| | | |- The location of this fluorite is near the start of the game. | |After you rescue and speak with the guards at the guard tower, head to | |the next area and battle the enemies. Afterwards, jump down the hole | |that is near the opening of the cave. Once inside, search the left-hand | |side of your screen where the first candle is giving off a small amount | |of light to get this Fluorite. | | | |- After collecting the above Fluorite, proceed through the narrow passage| |into the opening of the cave. Battle the demons here, and climb the small| |staircase. Directly after you emerge from the stairs, you will see a | |small statue of a monk with a chest on its right hand side. Open the | |chest to get the next Fluorite. | | | |- This Fluorite is located in the same room that Samanosuke gains the | |"Thunder Orb". Upon entering this room for the fist time, you will see | |jars of three, set on each side of the walls. Break the first jar on the | |right hand side of the screen, and search that location. Here you will | |find the Fluorite. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------| | 4. South Area Fluorite Locations | |----------------------------------|--------------------------------------| | | |- To find this Fluorite, head to courtyard just outside the keep. This | |is the area that you first see a Fire Orb seal on a door. Directly from | |the entrance, head towards the northeast. For those confused, just go to | |all the way to the top right hand corner of your screen. Once there, | |search the grassy part in the corner of your screen, to obtain the next | |Fluorite. | | | |- This Fluorite is located in the area just beyond the keep's courtyard. | |This is also the same area that has a large piece of the western wall | |broken open. From the entrance, head straight-ahead until you see another| |door that leads to another area. Now before continuing, head to the top | |right side of your screen. Search the spot under the enroaching tree | |above. You wont be able to get directly under the tree due to the object | |in your path. Just search the spot where the object is. I just threw the | |tree in there as a landmark. | | | |Note - To get a better idea as to where this area is this, just remember | |it is in the area where you have to use the "Rope Ladder". Don't confuse | |this with thinking its near the hole in the wall. It's not. I am using | |the hole in the wall to help you understand which area, not exact | |location. | | | |- The next Fluorite is located in the area just before the first boss | |fight. (big demon with a HUGE club) From the Magic Mirror head straight | |till you see the second door that is sealed by another "Fire Orb". Now | |search the spot where there is a rope and a skull on the ground. There | |is also a group of three logs tied together here. Search the skull to | |find this Fluorite. | | | |- This Fluorite is in the same room as the "Fire Orb". That is | |also the same room where you meet the weird demon whose obsession is | |human livers. You also meet his newest creation, Reynaldo here. The | |Fluorite is at the back of the room near the big stone board, that | |has un-readable letters inscribed on it. There are also two blue glowing | |fires in this spot. Approach this location, and search the skeleton that | |is hanging near the right side of the wall to get the Fluorite. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------| | 5. Keep Fluorite Locations | |----------------------------|--------------------------------------------| | | |- The next Fluorite is one of the first that can been found in the keep. | |From the entrance of the keep, enter the door to the west. Travel through| |this small corridor, and enter the door sealed by the two "Thunder Orbs".| |Once inside, search the spot on Samanosuke's right. The Fluorite is in on| |top of the crate directly next to the door. To help better understand the| |location, there should also be a guards body laying on the floor, with a | |large wheel behind him. | | | |- The next Fluorite, requires no searching at all. From the room where | |you meet up with Kaede and Yumemaru; proceed past the door that reads | |"What is this? There is a weird pit... You have to find a way to unlock" | |when you inspect it. Continue past here, and enter the door at the end | |of the hall. Once inside the next room, head straight then turn right. | |You should now be in front of a staircase leading farther up into the | |keep. Now walk a bit forward and spot the chest on the ground. Open it | |to receive the next Fluorite. | | | |- This Fluorite is on the upper half of the keep. After ascending | |the staircase, head towards samanosuke's left, and proceed forward. You | |should now see two doors. One on the left, and one on the right. The door| |you must enter is the one on the left (the door without the "Fire Orb" | |seals). After entering the door, you will now be on the balcony of the | |keep, overlooking the entrance. Proceed through the left-hand side of | |the balcony, until you reach a door sealed by another "Fire Orb". | |Enter the door to the next room. From the entrance, walk forward | |and into the next screen. You will now see what looks like a workbench. | |Search the spot at the very end near the door to find the next Fluorite. | |To pin-point its exact location, look for the small candle on the edge of| |the bench. Search there to find it. | | | |- After collecting the above Fluorite, turn around and come back the way | |you came. Return to the balcony, and proceed across to the doors you came| |through, and enter. Once through, walk forward to the door sealed by | |two "Fire Orbs", and enter. In the next room you will see two tables side| |by side. On the opposite end from where you enter, is a suit of armor in | |a display case. Search the area directly in front of the armor to find | |the Fluorite. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------------------| |6. Keep Und. Fluorite Locations | |--------------------------------|----------------------------------------| | | |- Head to the underground keep. Enter the room that has the Red Samurais | |in some sort of stasis chambers. As you walk forward, you will notice a | |door directly in front of you. Turn right, and search the small pile of | |red goo on the ground to find the Fluorite. | | | |- The next Fluorite is right after you switch control from Kaede to | |Samanosuke. While back in control of Samanosuke, walk forward till the | |game switches into the next view. You should now see a chest, and a Magic| |Mirror. Start your search on the right. It is located on the right hand | |side of the area, just before you reach the chest. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------| | 7. West Area Fluorite Locations | |---------------------------------|---------------------------------------| | | |- The next Fluorite location is a bit tricky to explain. When you enter | |this area, the camera will be up close to the screen, and its | |surroundings. There is Ivy, and grass covering the wall right in | |front of the door. Search the small spot of grass here to find the | |Fluorite. | | | |Note - To get a better idea as of where this area is, I will use the well| |as a landmark. Do not confuse this with thinking it is near the well. | |It's not. It is right in front of you as you enter the area. I am using | |the well to help you understand which area, not exact location. | | | |- This Fluorite can be found in the prison area. To find its location, | |head to the corridor, that is engulfed in flames. At the end of the | |corridor is a door that is already open. Inside this room is a chest | |that contains a few Kunai. (throwing knives) After getting the Kunai, | |turn Kaede to the right, and search the spot in front of the small bench.| |Note - You can only collect this Fluorite while in Kaede's control. | | | |- The easiest way to find this Fluorite is to first head to the room that| |has a furnace in it. It is also the same room that you get the gear in. | |Enter the room, and then exit it. Now walk forward into the next screen. | |You should now see another smaller door, a couple bows, and an arrow | |quiver laying on the floor. Walk overtop of the quiver and search that | |spot to discover the Fluorite. | | | |- Go to the room with the West area Magic Mirror (save point). Take note | |that this is the only Magic Mirror that Samanosuke can access in this | |area. Do not mix up this magic mirror with the one Kaede can access | |before the prison. Samanosuke cannot go to that area, so there should | |be no confusion. From here, exit out the door on the north side of the | |room. Run up the slope into the next screen. You should now see a cannon | |in the corner. Walk directly in front of the cannon's opening and search | |that spot to get the next Fluorite. | | | |- Head to the west area where you fought the large red | |minotaur. Enter the large gate that requires the Secret Key. Once in | |the next area, proceed forward till you come across a small bridge. | |Search the tree on the left side of the bridge to get the Fluorite. | | | |- After getting the above Fluorite, walk across the bridge, and climb the| |stairs to the Ogre Tower. Search the statue of the lion on the right side| |of the Ogre Tower's door to find the Fluorite. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------| | 8. East Area Fluorite Locations | |---------------------------------|---------------------------------------| | | |- This Fluorite is located in the East Area. Travel to the portion on the| |map that looks like a large open rectangle. Upon arriving in this area | |you should immediately notice the very large tree in the center. Search | |the spot of tree that looks a bit decayed. A even better explanation of | |where to look, is by the camera angles. You want to be in the section of | |this area where camera only shows the trunk of the tree. If your seeing | |the branches, the little bunny, or anywhere near the top, then your in | |the wrong part. Search the decayed trunk to discover the Fluorite. | | | |- After collecting the Fluorite above, enter the door to the next area. | |You should now be in a small forest path. head up the slope, and into the| |next two screens. As the slope evens out, turn your character to the | |left, and search this spot. You should find a Fluorite here near the | |trees. | | | |- The next Fluorite can only be collected while in control Kaede for the | |second time. As soon as the game switches over to her, walk forward, and | |turn left when you see the opportunity to do so. Then proceed forward | |until you see a door. Enter the door and continue moving forward. In | |the next screen you will see an opening to the right. Turn right and | |proceed forward. You will then see a chest that is partially hidden | |in the corner. Walk over to the chest and search next to it. The | |Fluorite is found directly here. | | | |- This Fluorite is located in the southeast portion of the East Area Map.| |Enter the room that is shaped like a large C. Check the map for it. Once | |there, you will notice pots that are scattered within the room. Break | |the one on the left hand side to find the Fluorite underneath. Search the| |area where the pot was to discover it. | |Note - The pot is on your left-hand side, not your characters. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------| | 9. Dark Realm Fluorite Locations | |----------------------------------|--------------------------------------| | | |Ok, I cannot stress what I am about to say enough. Listen and read very | |carefully!!!!! All over the GameFAQ message boards, people post stuff | |like "I just beat the Dark Realm but there were only 10 levels not 20" | |or the other way around. Here is the deal. There are two!!! That's right,| |TWO Dark Realms. The first is in the keep. To locate it, walk forward | |from the keep's entrance, and enter the room with the Magic Mirror. | |This is also the same room with that creepy moth man that hangs from the | |ceiling. He will offer to take you to the Dark Realm at a certain point | |in the game. Remember, this Dark Realm only has 10 levels, and yields the| |Secret Key for completing it. The other Dark Realm is in the west area. | |To locate it, head to the well were you first found the Rope Ladder | |within a chest. Head down there and the moth man will ask you to go to | |another Dark Realm. This one has twenty levels, and yields the Bishamon | |O. Item. This grants you access to the Bishamon sword in the Demon World.| |Now that that is settled, on to the Fluorites. | | | | | | | |=================================================================== | | Dark Realm Fluorite Locations (Keep Area Dark Realm. Has 10 floors) | |=================================================================== | | | |- You will find a Fluorite on the fifth floor in a chest. | | | |=================================================================== | | Dark Realm Fluorite locations (West Area Dark Realm. Has 20 floors) | |=================================================================== | | | |- You will find a Fluorite on the seventh floor in a chest. | | | |- You will find a Fluorite on the tenth floor in a chest. | | | |- You will find a Fluorite on the nineteenth floor in a chest. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------| | 10. Ogre Tower Fluorite Locations | |-----------------------------------|-------------------------------------| | | |- This Fluorite is located in the first portal. You will find it on the | |sixth floor in a chest. | | | |- This Fluorite is located in the third portal. You will find it on the | |sixth floor in a chest. | | | |- This Fluorite is located in the fourth portal. You will find it on the | |sixth floor in a chest. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------------| | 11. Extra Tips | |----------------|--------------------------------------------------------| | | |Here are a few things that may help you collect all thirty fluorites with| |a little more ease. | | | |1. Get hold of the Vision Staff as soon as possible. This invaluable item| |let's you see the Fluorites. instead of blindly searching for them. They | |will show up as a glowing little sparkle. | | | |2. If you are where you think a Fluorite is, keep searching. What I have | |written about each Fluorite location is as best as I think it can get | |without screenshots. I went over, and over them, to make sure they are | |easy to understand. Keep searching. Chances are you are in the wrong | |place, or are not exactly in the right spot. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------| | 12. Your Reward | |-----------------|-------------------------------------------------------| | | |You have labored through hoards of enemies, searched like a madman, and | |finally done the impossible (yeah right, lol). So what do I get for all | |this you ask? Well that is simple. You get the Kaede Extra. If you select| |this and start a new game, Kaede will be wearing a new costume. I will | |not spoil what that is though.... you have to see it for yourself. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------| | 13. Game Over | |---------------|---------------------------------------------------------| | | |Well that is that! I did it. I completed my first FAQ. I may even write | |another one for Genma Onimusha....only time will tell. | | | |If there are any questions, suggestions, or any of that sort, please send| |them to my e-mail address at the top of the document. The only | |restriction is stuff considered dumb. You know.... like things that are | |already mentioned here. Don't ask me questions to things that have | |already been answered. I will answer e-mails about clearing up certain | |locations if someone is confused, but not something like "where is the | |fluorite in portal 1 of the Ogre Tower". | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| GaMe oVeR... press reset
