VERSION HISTORY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.0 - FAQ Created Final Version - End of updates; FAQ Complete ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- B. INTRODUCTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, readers. My FAQ is based on Fight Night 2004. However, my FAQ will not cover all concepts in the game but will cover only one very important one which is training for fights. I will cover five parts of training. I will be sure to cover all the dos and donts, pros and cons, good and bad methods, etc. I will also answer some questions for you in the FAQ section. To learn more about training, please read on. I hope my FAQ is most informative and helpful to all readers and gamers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C. TRAINING CAMP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Training is like a mini-game feature during Career Mode. Training makes your fighter stronger and increases his ratings. There are four parts of training you must complete in order to increase your rank. Some are hard and some are easy. The most important part of training you must remember is that training is timed. You must use your time wisely and finish training as best as you can before time runs out. As you increase your rank, training will become more difficult. Training always has a certain amount of required points you must score to get the most amount of rating points you can get before time runs out. The least amount of rating points you can get is zero and the most amount is fifteen. There are two ways to train. You can either auto-train or go to training. Please read on to learn more about these two ways of training. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D. AUTO-TRAIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Auto-training is the worse way of training out of the two ways you can train. You can't get the most amount of rating points with auto-training. You can only get four rating points. You only want to auto-train when you're close to the completion of your character's rating points or if you do not intend to go the the top rank. You should only auto-train if you intend to stay at the bottom ranks. The negative part of auto-training is that when you are finished with career mode, your rating points will not be filled and your fighter will not have great skill as he should. Also auto-training is convenient only if you are having trouble with a certain training part. But you should not overdo it. The best way to train is to go to training and train yourself. To learn more about training yourself, please read on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- E. HEAVY BAG ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit the heavy bag and make it swing from side to side. The farther the bag swings after each punch the more points you score. Keep the bag swinging in the max swing range to receive 2X, 3X, and 4X bonus scores. Don't just throw punches. Use rythym and timing to make the bad swing higher. When the bag is moving left hit it with right hand punches. When the bag is movng right, hit it with left hand punches. ************* -When you are in progress of this training, always be aware of *SWING BONUS* this box. You are doing good if any of the bonus Xs are *1X 2X 3X 4X* highlighted. Also you must watch the color of your score. Each ************* color has a code. They are: Yellow: Try harder Orange: Great Red: Excellent/Bonus Score the amount of required points and increase your power and speed ratings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F. SPARRING ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Out-box the sparring partner by using your leaning, blocking, and punching skills. Blocking and avoiding your opponent's punches will score more points than simply hitting him. Try to block or lean away from the sparring partner's punches. Hit him back with counter punches and combinations. These are how your scores should look like: Lean + Counter= 800 points Parry + Counter= 2000 points Block + Counter= 1200 points Max Combo= 80,000 points Score the amount of required points and increase your stamina and agility ratings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- G. COMBO DUMMY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow the combinations displayed on the combo dummy by hitting the different areas in the right order. As the combinations get longer the score for each punch increases. Left punches hit the right side of the dummy and right punches hit the left side of the dummy. Straight punches are the fastes punches to throw. Hold lean to throw punches to the combo dummy's body. There are four targets on the dummy. His right and left side of his face, and his left and right side of his stomach. Score the amount of required points and increase your chin and body ratings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- H. TARGET MITTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hit the trainer's target mitt with the correct punch as fast as you can. The faster you are the more points you score. Listen to the trainer's instructions to learn what punches to throw. Left handed punches hit targets the trainer holds with his left hand. Right handed punches hit targets the trainer hold with his right hand. Here are the results, in order from best to worst, you can score: Perfect= 1500 points Excellent= 1250 points Great= 1000 points Good= 750 points OK= 500 points Try Harder= 250 points Score the amount of required points and increase your heart and cuts ratings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What exactly is the point of training? A: To make your boxer the best fighter in the divison. Q: Will I be able to use my fighter online? A: Yes, but you won't be able to win if you don't train him. Q: What is the least amount of required points you get? Maximum? A: The least amount of required points is 10,000. The most amount of required points you can get is 50,000 and in some cases 60,000. Q: 80,000 points is the max combo in Sparring?! A: Yes, I didn't even know this until Vieal brought this to my attention. If you continue with body shots it could go up to 80,000 points. Q: How long is the timer for each training? A: Approximately a minute. Q: What is the easiest part of training? A: The heavy bag without a shadow of a doubt. Q: What is the hardest part of training? A: Sparring. Q: I can't get sufficent points in sparring. Why? A: Yes, this is very normal. If you don't have a cooperative sparring partner, you will get the punishment for it. If he does not hit you throughout the session, you will not get credited. The trick is to move away from him and attract him to come to you rather than you do go to him. If this doesen't work, you might want to restart. Q: If training manditory? A: That depends. If you want to make your character incredibly weak, you don't have to train. If you want to make him incredibly strong... train! Q: When I start career mode, should I select a created boxer from the roster or create my own boxer? A: It doesen't really matter because the ratings start out the same for each boxer but personally I would recommend you create your own boxer. Q: Can I use this FAQ on your website? A: Please check the conge notice section for your answer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- J.
