Nothing special worth noting. ****************************************************************************** * Chapter 2: Intro * ****************************************************************************** Hey Guys, welcome to my next guide in my series of works. As you can tell from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help players get all of the trophies in this game. Their's not a whole lot of reasons that I can think of for wanting to do this guide that I can think of (other then just wanting to) and I try to keep my intro short anyway, so let's just move along with the guide. Warring: This guide can and will contain spoilers. I will do my best to not spoill stuff from the game, but sometimes it just can not be helped, so read at your own risk. Note: This my 1st guide I've ever done for the Playstation Vita. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ | Chapter 3: Trophy Overview | ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Trophy difficulty: 1/5 Number of Trophies: 33 Least amount of playthroughs to get all Trophies: 1, but you'll need to do a lot of jumping around in order to make progress on the game (refer to details to know what I'm talking about). Number of Missable Trophies: 0 (Technically, all trophies (save for 2, 3 or maybe even 4) are story-related. However, you'll only be able to obtain the trophies in a certain order (again, refer to the details to know what I'm talking about). The 2-4 non story-related trophies can be redone thanks to the fact you can pick and choose which point to jump to (including puzzles)). Details: Well, the Platnium itself is really easy to achieve (especially since it's a Visual Novel), but you if you think you can just go in any order you wish for unlocking the trophies, think again. There are these things called Story Locks, and they'll only let you down certain paths if you fulfill certain condtions. You'll also need passwords to by pass certain locks (mainly on the true ending, but still). Speaking of which, I'll let you in on what the passwords are and where they apply to below (don't worry, they don't change from playthrough to playthrough and I've seen them on another walkthrough and got them myself). LXA QNS GDQ - Bomb 0 - Phi path BQZ RGJ DXR - Bomb 1 - Phi path EQD DYR NTK - Bomb 2 - Phi path LXQ LHC NMR - Bomb 3 - Phi path GTF-DM-L-016 - Lion 1 - Luna path MILKEVOLI - Lion 2 - Luna path ID Card Name: KURASHIKI - - Phi path ID Card Password: JUMPYDOLL - Phi path However, without viewing certain endings, you won't be able to use these codes when they show up. The reason for this is that if you try to get on a certain path before you've found what you were looking for, you'll be slapped with a "To be continued" screen. Speaking of cetain endings, here are the possible endings you can run into, what requirements need to be fulfilled for the endings (where they apply) and what they unlock if they apply below. This was taken from The Lost Gamer's walkthrough for the 3DS version of this game. Ending Requirement Password Obtained Luna Lion 1 None Lion 2 K Clover Lion 2 Ending Dio None Bomb 0 Ten. Escape Lab Bomb 1 Quark Sigma Ending ID Card Clover None None Alice Dio Ending Bomb 3 Escape Lab Sigma Ten. Ending Bomb 2 Alice Ending Lion 1 Phi Luna Ending All Bombs ID Card As you can clearly see, you do have some flexibility as to what order you view the endings in. However, Phi's ending has to be done last, since you need to have all of the bomb codes as well as the ID Card in order to fully complete this ending. The way it looks, either Dio or Clover's ending can be completed 1st. I didn't follow this path myself (partly because I was following the order of another guide), but here's the route I would take. 1. Escape the Pressure Exchange Chamber + Tenmyouji's Bad Ending A 2. Escape the Laboratory + Quark's Bad Ending 3. Dio 4. Alice 5. Clover 6. K 7. Tenmyouji 8. Sigma 9. Luna 10. Quark 11. Phi This route will allow you to experience as much of the story as much as possible while unlocking various Story Locks. Escaping the Pressure Exchange Chamber 1st doesn't do anything, but the reason why you want to do this one 1st is because of a potental bug that can rear its ugly head in that room. Apparently, this bug can cause the game to crash and corupt your save file. I've only read about this happening in the 3DS version of the game, but it can still happen in the Vita version as well. To avoid this bug, save in the story novel section of the game (before it throws you in their of course) and either make an extra save the game will alow you to make or back it up in a PS3 (if you have one) or the Cloud (if you have PlayStation Plus). With the possibly of this bug's exsistance hanging over your head, it's best to just get it out of the way (and if you like get Tenmyouji's 1st Bad Ending out of the way while you're at it). The reason for why we want to do the Laboratory Escape 2nd is to just get it out of the way (but not for the same bug related reasons). Although you don't have to, you might as well get Quark's Bad Ending out of the way while you're at it. The reason why I chose the order I did for 3-11, is pretty much for the sake of experiencing as much of the story as possible as stated in the 1st sentence of the last paragraph. Of course, the choices are yours and yours alone, but keep the following in mind: 1. K's Ending can only be done after you've seen Clover's ending. 2. Tenmyouji and Alice's ending can only be done after you've escape from the Laboratory. 3. Luna's ending can only be done after you've seen Tenmyouji and Sigma's endings. 4. Quark's Ending can only be done after you've seen Sigma's ending. 5. Phi's Ending can only be done after you've seen the other character endings and Phi's Bad Ending (this may extend to the character's bad endings as well). Speaking of Endings, each character has 2 of them (a Good and Bad ones respecively). However, Tenmyouji and Luna have 2 Bad Endings and 1 Good Ending, making both characters ending totals to 3. Here are the ending paths for each of the characters and the true ending path below (going in order of the route I told you to follow, starting from 3). This was taken from the Endings Guide on playstationtrophies.org (with some minor corrections and edits). I know you need to see Phi's Bad Ending for sure, as you won't get the Good version of Phi's ending otherwise. As for actually playing the game... Well, it's visual novel, so all you'll be doing is listening to and reading the text of this game's story (for the most part). However, you will need to make certain choices and solve puzzles at certain points of the game. Having played the prequel for the DS before, I've found the story to be a snooze fest at some points compaired to Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (or 999 for short). Maybe it's because you can't skip a lot of the text as easily in this game as you could in the 999? Well, anyway, you can press the [] button to make the text auto scroll. It won't make it faster, but gets rid of the need to mash the living daylights out of the X button just to get through the text. Sometimes the game will let you press the [] button twice to skip the text altogether, but only if you already "read" them. Other then that, just try to bare through the story, make your choices, do the puzzles to escape the rooms and you should Platnium this game in no time. If however, you are having trouble completing the puzzles this game has to offer, here's a walkthrough below. It was written by The Lost Gamer (yes, that's this user's real Profile name). http://www.gamefaqs.com/vita/641335-zero-escape-virtues-last-reward/faqs/65232 Note: It assumes that you're playing the 3DS version, but it should still apply to the Vita version. If you're not sure of what choices you have to make for certain endings, here's the link to a flowchart below. It was made by Kazerei. http://www.gamefaqs.com/vita/641335-zero-escape-virtues-last-reward/faqs/65172 Note: Assmes that you're playing the 3DS version. In my opinion, it's not as good as the one I've found on playstationtrophies.org, but I can't get that flowchart to fit in the guide, due to the character limit per line. Of course, I could make this a Formated FAQ to make it fit, but for one image, it's not worth the trouble. Besides, I mainly use Internet Explorer as my browser of choice and I've read that it's not a good idea to make that type of FAQ on that browser, but now I'm just going off topic. Sorry about that. Anyway, to the next chapter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Chapter 4: The Game's Trophies and How to unlock them - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A. Bachelor of Escapology Description: Escaped from the elevator. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This is the 1st escape you'll do. Grab the key from the safe when you learn the password and use it to unlock the button. Just don't forget to grab the Gold File in the safe for using the other password before doing so. B. Master of Escapology Description: Escaped from eight rooms. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Doctor of Escapology" for details. Assming that you've followed the route suggestion I've made out for you, you'll unlock this when you've escaped the Director's Office. C. Doctor of Escapology Description: Escaped from sixteen rooms. Trophy Color: Silver Guide: This game has a total of 16 rooms to escape from. Each ending path has a total of 2 rooms to escape from (with the exceptions of Tenmyouji, Luna and Phi's paths, all of whom has 3). Since you're pretty much forced to do Phi's path last, you'll unlock this when you've escaped from the Q room. D. Escapey Description: Escaped on Hard difficulty. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Escapest" for details. Assuming that you've kept the Elevator Escape difficulty on Hard, it'll unlock itself when you've escaped the elevator. E. Classified Description: Found a secret. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Redacted" for details. I'm honestly if I remember when this unlocks. I would guess sometime during the Elevator puzzle when you've tapped on something Sigma picks up. F. An Eidetic Experience Description: Found a file. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Redacted" for details. I guess it unlocks itself when you've pick up the Gold File in the safe for entering the extra password. G. A Consumate Collection Description: Found ALL the files! Trophy Color: Gold Guide: Refer to "Redacted" for details. This one's for obtaining all of the Gold Files in each of the 16 rooms. H. Every Ending Begins Somewhere Description: Saw any of the endings. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: This is unlocked when you've seen your 1st ending (doesn't matter if it's good or bad). If you've followed the route I've gave you, that would be Dio's Good Ending (unless you've decided to get all of the bad endings while you're at it, in which case it would be Tenmyouji Bad Ending A). I. That Wasn't Supposed to Happen Description: Saw any of the bad endings. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to "Fire and Ice" for details. This is the same as "Every Ending Begins Somewhere", except that you have to see one of the game's 11 Bad Endings. If you followed the order I've set for you and it doesn't matter if you have to seen all 11 bad endings for the True Ending's sake or not, then you'll unlock this when you've seen Phi's Bad Ending, as that's required for Phi's Good Ending. If you decide to get all of the Bad Endings while playing this game and assming you go in order of the route I've made for you, you'll unlock this when you've seen Tenmyouji Bad Ending A. J. Escapest Description: Escaped everything on Hard difficulty. Trophy Color: Gold Guide: This is the same as "Doctor of Escapology", except that you have to be on the Hard difficulty setting. The only difference between Hard and the game's only other difficulty setting (Easy), is that the character's who are in the room with you will provide hints is to what to do. If you're the type that only uses a guide as a last resort, save your game and switch the difficulty to Easy and escape the room (or at least complete the puzzle you're stuck on). After that, reload your save and complete the puzzle/room like normal. If you're going to do this in the Pressure Exchange Chamber, keep a seperate save just in case game crashes. That way, if the Save becomes corrupted as a result, you can just reload from a Pre-PEC save. K. Redacted Description: Found ALL the secrets! Trophy Color: Gold Guide: This is pretty much for searching the rooms as closely as you can. This extends to the Gold Files for finding the Extra Password and putting it in on the Hard difficulty setting. It should unlock when you've completed the Q room pretty much (not 100% sure on that though). If for some reason it doesn't unlock then, go to the in-game flowchart and check all of the rooms you've escaped from. Let's use the Elevator Room for the example I'm going to make. In the Elevator Room, you're suppose to have found 8 files (I guess) in that room. It's suppose to say "8/8" (without the quotes). If it doesn't, you're missing something in that room. If the difficulty setting above the number of files you've found says "Hard" then their's a good chance you've found everything. L. To Each According to His Needle Description: Opened the first lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock by choosing Betray in the 2nd AB Game on K's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you've need to have seen Clover's Ending. M. I Can't Believe It's Not Murder! Description: Opened the second lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock by choosing Ally in the 2nd AB Game on Tenmyouji's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you've need to have escaped from the Lab on Quark's Ending path. N. Gotta Hand It To You Description: Opened the third lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock is choosing Ally in the 2nd AB Game on Quark's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you've need to have seen Sigma's Ending. O. If I Told You You Had A Nice Antibody... Description: Opened the fourth lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock is choosing Ally in the 1st AB Game on Alice's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you've need to have seen Quark's Ending (the bad ending apparently has the same effect). P. He Was Convicted of a String of Numbers Description: Opened the fifth lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock is choosing Betray in the 2nd AB Game on Alice's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you've need to have seen Dio's Ending. This isn't related to the lock itself, but when Alice asks you to decode a message, type in "COMPLETED" (without the quotes). Q. No Lying Down On the Job Description: Opened the sixth lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock is choosing Ally in the 1st AB Game on Sigma's Ending path. After that, you need to say No when asked if the Red door's ok and choose the Green Door instead. In order to unlock it, you will need run into the "To Be Continued" screen itself. After that, tap the lock twice and when given the choice, choose to check out the Crew Quarters first. R. Who Set Up Us The Bomb, Part 1 Description: Opened the seventh lock. Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll run into this lock is choosing Ally in the 2nd AB Game on Phi's Ending path. In order to unlock it, you'll need to have unlocked the 8th and 9th Story Locks 1st. After that, you need to disable the 1st 3 bombs. Bomb code 1 is on Tenmyouji's Ending. Bomb code 2 is in Sigma's Ending. Finally, Bomb code 3 is on Alice's Ending. Once you've disabled the 3 bombs, the story lock will unlock itself if you've seen Luna's Ending. V. Tears in the Rain Description: Saw Luna's ending. Once it pops, congrats, you've just sat through hours of dialogue and 16 rooms worth of puzzles on your way to this point. ============================================================================== | Chapter 5: How to Contact me | ============================================================================== You have 3 Main ways of contacting me: 1. Send me a E-mail 2. Send me a message on my Gamertag on X-Box Live 3. Send me a message on my PSN Profile My E-mail address shadowjohn91(at)yahoo(dot)com. My Gamertag is Gamer364. This can be done only through a text message on the Xbox 360. My PSN name is TurboStitch. Like my Gamertag, this can only be done via text message on the PS3 or on the Vita (if possible with the latter). E-mail or Message me if you: A. See a spelling error: I may have made spelling errors as I was writing this. B. Have a question that needs asking: You may have something that needs clearing up or something to that affect. C. Have a correction to make: I'm not 100% sure on some of the stuff mentioned though out the guide. D. Want to use my guide on your website: I personally have no problem letting you use my guide on your website, as long as you ask me first, and you give me credit for it. E. Think you see someone using my guide without permission: I don't like it when people steal my stuff (at least, not without asking me first). I don't do it to other people (at least without giving other people credit for the idea), so why do it to me anyway? F. Have something to add-on to this or that/there's something I forgot to include: If there something you think I should have included, but I didn't, you are encouraged to send me an Email for this or that. Do note that if you do decide you want to message me, make sure if the topic is about Virtue's Last Reward. As of right now the only sites that have permission to use my guide: A. GameFAQs (I have an ancount with them, so they don't really need my permission.) B. Neoseeker (The owner got permission in advanced) C. SuperCheats (The owner got permission in advanced) More to come (maybe). Don't even think about email me if you are going to send me: A. Hate Mail B. Spam C. Name Calling mail D. Barelly readable/Unreadable mail E. Mail with mostly creative words (if you get my drift) Letter A I take offence to, because I don't send hate mail to no one. I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live, don't think I won't wirte a complant about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you. With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school. Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check avaiable to you and your not sure of your spelling, then why not use it? Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that anyway. All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it. Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you credit for it. Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even then, I might still not get your message right away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Chapter 6: Legal Junk, Special Thanks and Other Guides I've Done | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Legal Junk This guide is copyrighted and writen by me.
