Introduction [sx100] =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Okay! So you just finished the last mission of Ragnarok Odyssey. Congratulations!!! Now that you're done with the main story, it's time to move on to the EX-missions, which are also known as the DLC missions (because they were originally DLC in the Japanese version). You tried a few, but realize the rank 10 missions were really difficult! You decide to ask for some better/godly gear, only to get no responses... All hope is lost and you want to quit this game already... NO!!! This is what this guide is here for! To help anyone break through into the post-game/metagame :D! Also, this guide caters mostly for Assassins. As they are the generally the best class overall for bossing and farming in general. Though nothing is stopping you from using other classes! Just be aware that some of the builds contained in this guide will have assassin-only skills. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= //2.) Effect (CardName card/rank) -##cc -------------------------------------------- Total Stats: -------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------- Notes: -------------------------------------------- ============================================ Before you look at the builds I have presented in this guide. Please be aware that these builds are what I used in the past to break into post-game. If some of these cards/combinations don't work for you. Simply change/substitute cards. These builds aren't suppose to be THE builds to use, but it's to give you guys an idea of the basic structure you can use to build your very own custom build :D So don't feel like you have to match card for card. I know I have always tried to fit "King of the Horizon" card into my builds, because I loved the air dash with no delay. So feel free to throw your own personal favourite card into the mix! Furthermore, I decided to add in build levels. This is a bonus idea on how you would 'improve' your builds. You will notice that with 'higher leveled' builds, there will be less (if not any) use of Monster cards...as weapon cards are just purely better in terms of customizability. It is also entirely up to you how you want to progress with your builds. This is what my build path looked like: Starter build Lv1 -> Crit Build Lv1 -> Hybrid Build Lv1 -> etc. With my bonus addition of build levels, you can even do: Starter build Lv1 -> Starter build Lv2 -> DS Build Lv1 -> etc. And a side note, all weapon cards mentioned here are the Bronze variant. So if you have a Silver rank weapon card, that's even better! It'll be cheaper and you can potentially fit in more card(s)! =============================================================================== //3.1.) Starter Build [sx301] =============================================================================== Alright, so you're ready to farm right off the bat.BUT are you prepared? Maybe, maybe not. A lot of the time I see new players farming with the most strangest build. This is probably because they're just throwing cards they think will be useful. However, you should really keep it simple! This is what the starter build is for :D You should definitely consider starting here if you aren't sure how to approach post-game farming. Heck, the starter builds are great for story play as well! ============================================ S T A R T E R B U I L D L V 1 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Wyn Bloody Roar 1. The reason behind having more hp is because you are still considered 'new', and you really...REALLY need that extra cushion to tank bosses. Don't worry though, as you get better and more experienced, you will need little to no hp buff :D! For starters, you will notice that there are two options to choose from. Here are some pros and cons: Option A: -more hp -more cost -less fillers -more common Option B: -less hp -less cost -more fillers -less common It would seem Option B would be the better choice...however the downside is the 'rarity' of the cards. Sand death rock card r1 is WAYYY more common to obtain than Orcish spirit lvl 2. So if you really want to use starter build asap, go for option a...and then you can move over to option b...or you could move to next build type(s) ============================================ ~ ============================================ S T A R T E R B U I L D L V 2 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Wyn Bloody Roar 1. So what's the difference? First of all, similar stats (less hp, but that's fine :D), except now you do MORE damage thanks to the bird bosses unique cards! Since attack up is always maxed at +150, you need other ways to increase it...and aptitude is a great way! With the maxed out +150 attack, plus your base attack power of around ~200, you can get an additional +70-105 attack stat (depending on which card)! Of course this calculation doesn't include your weapon attack too! So it's actually more :D! Here's the calculations if you didn't get it: (BaseClassAttack + WeaponAttack + AttackUp) * Aptitude = TotalAttack Now what other benefits are there to this build? well that would be the added flexibility of this build! With an extra 35-40cc for 3 card slots, you can fit any 1-2 cost-heavy card(s) (except of course the super expensive 50cc cards)! If you happen to have Daeg Farbauti equipped instead, you can remove Card 3 for an additional 10cc + 1 card slot, for the cost of that +400 hp. With the added flexibility, here are some build options: [Farm Build] >Throw on either a Scavenger Hunt or Luck up card (or both if you can fit it), to boost your chances for getting better items! Additionally, since this build does not use any critical, it's perfect for the Luck shift card! [MonsterTank Build] >With the extra 3 slots, you can easily throw on more hp5/2 Scorpion cards into the mix for an additional +4200 hp. That's a grand total of +6000hp! What can you do with this amount of hp you ask? You can survive a Tavern-mode Grendel's Gigantic Body Slam, which does around ~7900 damage! But seriously, you don't actually need this much hp... Instead you could throw on a Splash Potion and be a pretty strong support monster! [Semi-Crit Build] >With that extra 35-40cc, you can easily throw on a Bear Surge card to boost your damage by a pretty stable, additional 40%! [General Support Build] >For more of a support build, you can take off those Birdy Boss cards. This gives you a total of 60cc card flexibility. ============================================ ~ ============================================ S T A R T E R B U I L D L V 3 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Daeg Farbauti 1. This build is an even more flexible build than starter build lv 2, with an extra 45cc and 4 card slots to make use of. Similarly, you can follow the notes I provided in starter build lv 2 to make alternate builds. ============================================ ~ =============================================================================== //3.2.) Critical Build [sx302] =============================================================================== By default, you have a 5% chance of doing +40% critical damage. Extra damage is always very good! Another tidbit, critical damage IGNORES monster def! This is really great especially when you need to quickly break boss' armor. Most people skip critical builds to go straight for DS builds, because DS mode provides so many benefits! But I assure you, you shouldn't look down on critical builds, especially if you only just completed the last chapter. Critical build is great for anyone trying to break into the post/meta game. It has a really strong output, and isn't too difficult to set up. ============================================ C R I T I C A L B U I L D L V 1 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Wyn Bloody Roar 1. Of course, by this point you can also try to refine that weapon to upgrade double attack further. This build is one of the more simpler build to make, as it's not too difficult to procure these items. Otherwise you can always try to get some of these cards neared to you. (*1)If you're finding hrungnir a bit difficult to fight, you can substitute Majesty for Orcish spirits, sand death rock card, or even Scorpion hammer cards with atk5. Now the difference between 4a and 4b, is the use of which aptitude bonus to use. 4a will be aerial battles (like Grendel and Hrungnir), while 4b will for ground battles (like regular mob missions and Hati/Skoll). You will notice that with 4b, it has superior attack (with 150 attack and 30% g.apt) compared to 4a. However, 4a has more general use since ground specific monsters can easily be fought while you are in the air. Also, Assassin's best combos are performed in the air as well (TTTOO and TTTTO)...and that extra 5cc slot is a bonus for any 5cc filler you got (quick step, atk up, etc.) ============================================ ~ ============================================ C R I T I C A L B U I L D L V 2 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Daeg Farbauti 1. Also, this build is very demanding on you equipment...requiring TWO Traitor cards! You could use Bear Surge instead, but I felt that it would then just be a variant of the level 1 Crit build... So let's see how this build is better than level 1...actually it's only a little bit better. With -10 atk from cap, BUT a higher chance of critical, and an overall better damage on both ground and air (since we're not using the birdy card with a -% on the opposite apt). In my opinion, this build is very optional and is mainly for your consideration. With this level of card combinations, you would be better off opting for the Hybrid builds instead. ============================================ ~ =============================================================================== //3.3.) DS Build [sx303] =============================================================================== DS mode is a powerful burst that increases your damage by 40% (by default), adds aerial and ground step optimizations, and the ability to cancel out on almost all attacks, for the cost of draining your hp over time. This is a unique feature that really does an awesome job taking down mobs and bosses alike. The purpose of these DS builds is to be in DS mode for the majority of the time. With specific cards, this can be easily done. There are a couple of DS-only builds out there, so do definitely take a try and see which build is easier to make for you or better for you. ============================================ D S B U I L D L V 1 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Wyn Bloody Roar 1. You'll have to farm Valzrok and Illusion for awhile to get it...or if you can, definitely try to get it from near. Alternatively, you can sub in ODS and Orcish Trance for 2x Blaze DS/sp econ, shown in use in option A. Though it is preferable you get Orcish Trance because it doesn't drain your HP as quickly as BlazeDS. The star of the build is the Special Work, Guardian Card. You'll gain SP like crazy! With only 3-5 full combos, you'll reach DS mode. After your DS mode ends, thanks to sp recycle, you pretty much only need 1 combo to fill up your sp bar to return to DS mode. And that's important for the DS build, to stay in DS mode for a majority of your time. You'll notice in Option B, I have taken out 1 of the sp recy/reco cards. It's to make room for that Special Work card, since that card also provides a little sp recycle effect as well (around .5). *1 ~ Refer to Location/Item Farming [sx400] ============================================ ~ ============================================ D S B U I L D L V 2 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Sunsword 1a. Now, unlike the Critical build lv2, this build is actually much better than it's level 1 counterpart. The star of this build is the ever so coveted, Sunsword with Overload skill! That skill is VERY useful, as it replaces your blazeDS variant, adds a single sp recycle effect, AND NO DS Drain!!! That means you can stay in DS mode and stand/dash around without worrying about your hp dropping to 1. Since the star of this build is the sunsword, I provided two options to cover your poitential sunsword status. Option A is for use of any sunsword with overload, so it doesn't matter what your first line is. In fact, I'm using a Tension lv5/Overload Sunsword still :D! As for option B, it's specifically for a sunsword with apt/overload skill lines. This option is more restrictive, and may take slightly more time to build versus option A. Another difference between the two options is the use of Double attack. In option A, we use Twin Strike to compensate for the missing double attack. Twin strike has an increase 50% of proc-ing a double attack, but at a cost of 40% damage instead. It's slightly subpar to double attack 5, but it's a cheap cost of 20cc compared to carding any bronze weapon with double attack 4+ (25cc+). Finally, a POSSIBLE difference depends on your 1st line of your sunsword. If you have katar aptitude, then there's no difference. However if you have Sun god's blessing, then you lose out on that +10% apt, but instead gain hp,ap,sp recovery. Those skills may seem lackluster, but remember, having sp recovery (i.e. sp gain) is very useful for DS builds, as it helps you get into DS mode quickly. -------------------------------------------- ============================================ =============================================================================== //3.4.) Hybrid Build [sx304] =============================================================================== You should definitely try for a Hybrid build after you've tried a variant of Critical-only or DS-only build. Combining the best from both worlds will yield a really strong build that'll lead you to your final build :D! ============================================ H Y B R I D B U I L D L V . 1 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Wyn Bloody Roar 1. If you are one of the lucky few to find a CA5/5 on a Peorth Hermit claw or something, then carry on with that :D. You may notice, however, that this build doesn't look that great on paper. 60% Critical chance and only 50-85 atk? That seems a bit low... It does, BUT it's actually because you're also a Hybrid DS build. That means you have access to the prowress of DS mode for an additional 100% damage, and the other benefits of being in DS mode! So literally, while in DS mode, your critical damage will do an extra 200%! You will definitely be hitting more damage compared to the individual, non-hybrid builds. And like in the DS builds, you can substitute the 2x BlazeDS/sp econ for Orcish Trance and ODS if you have those cards. -------------------------------------------- ============================================ ~ ============================================ H Y B R I D B U I L D L V . 2 ============================================ Weapon: -------------------------------------------- Daeg Farbauti 1. Tips and Info [sx500] =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Effective bossing: LEARN BOSS' ATTACK PATTERNS!!! I cannot stress that enough! I know it's tempting to just continue attacking and tank the attack...but that's not effective bossing at all. Effective bossing is when you're able to dodge/avoid all the boss attacks while continuously doing damage. Most attacks have safe and danger zones. Know these zones and use them to your advantage when bossing. If you don't know where a safe zone is, there is a global safe zone...AWAY FROM THE BOSS! D:< ~ General Farming: Try not to farm the same map over and over. You WILL get bored. Instead, try alternating between quests that both drop something you want. Say you're hunting Dusk flames and blood red claws, then you would simply just alternate between 9-8 and 10-07. ~ Regular mob card Farming: If you're hunting for a certain card that drops from regular mob, Try farming the first few mobs, and if they don't drop a card, rest. Otherwise if they do drop a card, go ahead and die or finish the mission. This method is great for saving pots overall, and time it takes to travel through the mission. Works great for farming: Orcish Spirit and Bear Surge. ~ Marathon Refining: When trying to get that Refine level up for a skill, it's annoying to always have to restart in HQ/Tavern and make your way to the black smith. This method will allow your character to start in town, thus making your trip shorter and get your refine up faster. 1. Get a quest from HQ/Tavern, and leave HQ/Tavern. 2. Say "YES" to cancel the quest. 3. Go to your room and save the game. 4. Done. Refine away! ~ To Card or not to Card: Carding weapons is your best bet making you build better, as it offers more customizability than regular monster cards. However, some skills are too damn expensive to card. Main culprits: Zerk5, DA5, and Epic-only skills. Definitely try to avoid carding those expensive cards, unless they are gold ranked. Then it'll be more cost-efficient. Though, be aware, sometimes even gold ranked items are still too damn expensive, and there is usually a cheaper alternative. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= //6.) Miscellaneous [sx600] =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= - For the other stuff :D - =============================================================================== //6.1.) FAQs [sx601] =============================================================================== > Q: Where do I find *insert skill name*? A: Refer to Location/Item Farming section [sx400] ~ > Q: Can you near me an Epic weapon? Like Traitor, Epsilon, or Muramasa? A: No. Epic, gold, and silver-ranked weapons or cards cannot be neared. ~ > Q: Can you near me something good? (that is nearable*) A: Make sure you at least try to farm for yourself first before asking for items to be neared. Most items here do not take a long time...except of course for the rarer cards. ~ > Q: My items suck, I can't beat any of the EX bosses! Help? A: Refer to a starter build and set yourself up. Unfortunately, it may be a long journey to get the really good items you want. The basic Critical build lv 1 is enough to solo any boss. Definitely learn the boss' attack patterns and remember to dodge! If you're just trying to beat a mission, try going online and getting help there :D. ~ > Q: I don't know what to farm next...what should I farm for now? A: That really depends on what build you are doing. Take a look at some sample builds I have layed out in this guide and follow that. If you feel like you're spending "forever" trying to farm for an item, just skip it and move on to the next item. Or you could try farming for your next build :D ~ > Q: Which build is the BEST? A: The Hybrid build. It combines both Critical and DS builds for maximum damage and benefits. Your critical, DS attacks will have a total of +200% damage, while ignoring monster defence! ~ > Q: What's the BEST build route to go? A: That really all depends on which build you want to go for. For anyone starting off, it's always a good idea to go through each build once. You'll get some major experience if you do. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ © ayashiboi 2013
