Intro 2. Vital Techniques 3. Frequently Asked Questions 4. Boss FAQ 5. Legal Stuff and thanks ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. Intro The purpose of this FAQ is to get you through Turtles IV's bosses using the easiest methods and taking the least amount of damage possible. The true challenges of this game are the bosses as this game is the epitome of a "beat up all the baddies and then fight a hard boss" game. Read on and enjoy! ----------------------------------------------------------- 2. Vital Techniques In order to stand a chance against these bosses you'll need to know how to do and utilize basic techniques: The basic attack: Hit attack a bunch of times to deal out damage, use against anything within the range that you can hit. The screen toss: Hit attack once and then attack and down. This will send your opponent flying towards the screen doing damage to a boss that is looking at you (this really only comes into affect during the first shred fight). The jump attack: pretty simple, press jump and when you're ready hit attack. Use this on airborne enemies. ----------------------------------------------------------- 3. Frequently asked questions Q. What's the difference between the comic and animation coloring? A. The default coloring (animation) is a lot brighter than the comic coloring. This only applies to your turtles not any of the other characters or enemies. Q. Is there anyway to beat shred in the tank other than tossing foes at him? A. Nope Q. What the deal with the white number near my health bar? A. This number is a representation of how many baddies you've beaten up without using a continue, how you've beaten them up, and how much health you've had after defeating a boss. For every guy you dispose of you 1 will be added to your total. You'll get an extra point of you dispose of a foot soldier buy slamming him against the ground or screen tossing him. Q. What's a rest?/What's that colored number to the left of my health bar? A. The colored number is called a rest. A rest is basically a "life". It shows how many times your health bar can deplete until you need to use a continue. Number of rests can be changed in the options menu. Q. How come I only get 4 continues on normal mode? That's lame! A. Because that would be like having infinite lives, and it would be really easy to beat the game. ----------------------------------------------------------- Boss FAQ: Baxter: Difficulty: Easy Health Blocks: 3 Location: Level 1, Big Apple This fight should be pretty easy. When he's in the air jump and smack him. When he starts walking up and down the side shooting at you. Stand above him and mash the Y (or whatever button you assigned to slash) button. When he turns completely red avoid his yellow hand maneuver and continue with the strategy stated above. When you defeat him he'll explode and fall over the railing. Metal Head: Difficulty: Medium Health Blocks: 4 Location: Level 2, Alley-cat Blues When you start off, slash him repeatedly. He'll start jumping around, jump to him and smack him with your weapons. Soon he'll start doing what Baxter did, going up and down the sidewall shooting bullets. Get ahead of him and slash away. He'll go back to just trying to punch you, continue slashing at him until he repeats the wall-hugging shooting. The hardest part of this fight is not getting stuck in a corner, try to jump or run away if you get caught in the corner, if you don't escape quickly enough you will end up taking A LOT of damage. When he turns all yellow he'll get slightly faster and a little more powerful, and will attempt to do a kick with his extra long leg. Jump over it and continue slashing at him. He'll explode when you're done. R. King: 3 Difficulty: Very Easy Health Blocks: Bonus Level 1, Sewers When you start off, smack him in the middle, as he shoots missiles at you. When he starts dropping the red bombs get away from him and avoid them. The other way to avoid these bombs is to stick to the top and jump whenever one comes your way. This is probably the way to take the least damage during this boss fight. The missile-bomb sequence will repeat until you defeat him. Just smack him during the missile part and you'll take minimal damage and defeat him quite easily. Takka and Rahzar Health Blocks: 3 each Difficulty: Hard Location: Level 3, Technodrome The key to this battle is ISOLATION. Take one out at a time, trust me, it will save you a lot of life. Doing this will allow you to minimize damage because once you take out one of them they can't do their combination skateboarding-esque attack that does a solid amount of damage. I take Takka out first because he seems much easier than Rahzar because he doesn't have the powerful counter attack that Rahzar has. Slash Takka until he falls, and avoid Rahzar's fire breath, and charge attack and trying not to get in the way of Takka's Ice breath when you're not attacking him. When Rahzar is left alone, slash away at him like you did Takka while avoiding his various attacks. IF you tried to get both at once you'll have to try to avoid the skateboarding attack by doing some good jumping. Tank Shredder: Difficulty: Medium Health Blocks: 3 Location: Level 3, technodrome This fight is only hard because it is one of the few that necessitates a skill other than jumping and slashing. At first you may think you're fighting a massive onslaught of soldiers but it's really not so. All you have to do to defeat the tank is slash a foot soldier once and then hit down and slash again. This will vault your opponent towards the tank causing damage. Beware that you stay out of the cross hair or his claw or machine guns'll damage you. When you're done he'll explode and send you into a time portal. Slash: Difficulty: Hard Health Blocks:5 Location: Level 4, Prehistoric Turtlesaurus. This is the hardest fight in the game IMHO. The concept of this fight is simple, get behind him and slash away. Getting behind him is the hard part. You can jump over him or walk around him. I've had more luck walking around him than jumping because he has the tendency to slash me before I hit the ground. After you've done some damage to him he'll jump around again, just slash his back and soon he'll be done. He tends not to turn around when you're behind him, so staying behind him always is the key to winning this fight. Cheap Trick: At the beginning of the fight when he jumps down, run behind him, this will give you a free chance to deal out a ton of damage before he even has the chance to see you. Rock and Bebop Difficulty: Medium Health Blocks: 4 each Location: Level 5, skull and crossbones This is a very similar fight to the Takka and Rahzar fight except this is a lot easier because they will both beat each other up if you play your cards right. Yet again isolate one . During the fight they'll push each other in and out, you can do a lot of damage to one if you prevent them from running back to knock the other in. Once you've killed one, they'll both take each other out, making this fight 1/2 as hard as it should be. L. Head: Difficulty: Easy Location: level 6, Bury my shell @ wounded Knee. Health Blocks: 5 First slash at him while he's on his feet. When he gets on the floor dodge him, and when he gets back up dodge the items (lobsters?) that he throws at you. Repeat this until he throws knives much like the gun move that Baxter and Metal Head did. Use the same tactic stand ahead of the boss and slash until he gets there), when he does that. He'll go back to throwing lobsters and crawling on the floor. He'll repeat all of these phases until you defeat him. Super Krang: Difficulty: Medium Health Blocks: 4 Location: Bonus level 2, Neon nightriders At the beginning slash at him until he starts shooting missiles. Go to the top of the road to avoid these. Slash at him again until he starts puking up bombs. Avoid these by looking at the shadows, if they hit you it will do a significant amount of damage. . He'll repeat this until you slash him enough that he eventually explodes. Krang (in space ship) Difficulty: Easy Health Blocks:5 Location: Level 6, Where no turtles have gone before This shouldn't be to hard seeing that he really only has two attacks and has very low health (his health blocks deplete very fast). Jump attack him as he appears and disappears while avoiding his bubble blast. Continue this until he starts dropping little robots, defeat them first before going back to slash away at Krang's ship. These little robots can do a lot more damage than Krang can with his own attacks. Krang can also slam his ship down on you but it's really easy to avoid, just watch the shadow. He'll repeat these techniques until he explodes after all the damage that you've given him. Shredder's Final Form Difficulty: Hard (it's the final fight, what did you expect?) Health Blocks: 8!!! Location: Level 7, Technodrome Shredder has three main attacks, he'll either conjure a line of fire straight ahead of him, shoot ice in the air, or shoot a green blob at you. You can tell what he's going to use by what color he charges (red-fire, blue-ice, green-blob) To avoid the line of fire, jump over it, and slash him with your weapon, when he uses the ice blast, go straight towards him and slash away. AVOID THE GREEN BALL AT ALL COSTS. The green ball will do a significant amount of damage to you, and leave you paralyzed for a short amount of time. Shredder has a LOT of health, this will be a long hard battle, but use this strategy and you'll probably come out on top. -----------------------------------------------------------------------Legal and Thanks All characters are reserved of Mirage Studios, Turtles in time is a trademark of Konami Inc.
