INTRODUCTION Hi! Alright, this is a faq for Skyblazer, to Snes. First of all, I did the faq mostly because nobody else had and because of Skyblazer isn't a very famous game. So it can be hard to find any help about it, and that's why I chose to do a faq for this game. The game is made by Sony Imagesoft 1993 and is a platform-type. If you have any comments, corrections, opinions, help, info send it to my e-mail adress: lufia3@hotmail.com I would be glad if you check the legal things section if you want to do something special with this faq. I'm sorry for all grammar and spelling errors, but I'm working on it. It's not so easy to be "perfect" at english if it's not your first language. I tried to do the faq so complete as possible. I think I added everything. Anyway, let's get started!! ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? @: The characters in the game ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? There're a few main characters in this game. Here they are(as usual, I'm the one telling these things, I made up the text about them. I based the things about they how they look and what conversations they do): In the whole game, there're 5 characters: """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" "Sky-------Hero " "Old man---Wise old Man " "Princess--Cute girl that's kidnapped " "Ashura----Bad guy " "Raglan----Monster from darkness " """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """"" Sky: """"" The hero. A young man, 19 years old. He's a good warrior, with the fighting spirit in his soul. His father was killed when he fought the troops of darkness. Now Sky will follow his father's footsteps, the way of heroes, defeating evil forces as much as he can. He's brave, strong, and handsome. Blue hair, tall, well built, much muscles. And he's out there, going to avenge his father. """""""""" Old man: """""""""" An old old wise man, that helps Sky through the journey. A quite mystic man, with mystical powers. Listen to what he says, he's been travelling the the world, and gained a lot of wisedom. He also knows some mystic patters that work as a password. Maybe looks drag, but deep in his heart, he is gentle. Old and wears a red/orange coat. """"""""""" Princess: """"""""""" Like many other games, this one does have a girl that's been kidnapped. And Sky's the one that will save her. Seems like she got magical powers, but no sign of that in the game is revealed. Cute girl with purple dress. """"""""" Ashura: """"""""" Enemy-no1!! This creep murdered Sky's father, and he's now about to ruin the world, by summoning a monster from hell. Ashura has gathered troops that conquer the world, and you're the one to stop him. He looks like a giant, with wings and four arms. No doubts, he's evil!! """"""""" Raglan: """"""""" The devil himself. Lord of hell. This one's the source of evil that pests the land. A giant monster that looks like a pig. You don't know anything about him when the journey starts, but you'll soon know more......... £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ *: Info £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ Here's some information about the game and this faq. The game is made by Sony Imagesoft 1993. To Super Nes system. It's a kinda platform-game, but it's also a kind of adventure-game also, because you travel on the map sometimes. The whole game is like a journey. There are 18 stages, and 10 bosses(including Raglan). All stages and bosses is not a must to clear, you can skip some of them if you want. But the advantage of beating every stage and boss is that then you'll gain all the spells. For each main stage you cleared, you'll gain a spell. Some stages is unable to skip over. For example, you gotta beat the last and first stages. When I say stages, I mean every single stop at the map, both the stages and the elder's camp. I think it's three camps the elder's got, so without him, there're 14 stages. You can play some of the stages in different order, but I listed them like I play the game. And the same numbers are in the walkthrough, as the view of stages. There're a few bonus games in the game(2). These are good because here you can earn lives. Every big diamond you take is 10 small diamond. 1 small diamond=1 score 1 big diamond =10 score 100 diamonds =1 life So take all diamonds you can see. ABOUT THE FAQ I made the faq mostly cause I haven't seen nobody else had done one. And I think that Skyblazer is a pretty good game, so it deserves a faq. Maybe someone plays it, except me. I did everything myself, no help from companies, other people, nothing. So everything is my opinion. If you think I decribed the water level too bad, tell me by mailing me at lufia3@hotmail.com and I'll make a new one. I guess I'm too lazy to make a new exact one, before I know somebody really needs it. I take no responsiblity if I ruin your fun!!! This faq contains everything in the game, so if you have any problems, you probably will find the solution here. But if it spoils your fun(like leaking information to you that makes it easier to beat it) I take no responsibility! DON'T READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE!!!!!! I suggest you use this faq if you're stuck in the game, don't knowing what to do, or something like that. Or if you're just intrested in the game and want further information. Then check it out. But don't read it if you just played it for a few minutes, then it will ruin your fun. And of course, have fun while playing!! (Check out the other stuff I've done also, if you want. Everything is on www.gamefaqs.com A very handy site, isn't it?) ************************************************************************ A: Story ************************************************************************ (This is of course the story, the intro text plus some stuff I made by myself). (Introtext) "I am Raglan, Lord of Darkness, King of Destruction. Ashura, Lord of War! Summon your warlords, conquer the overworld, and restore my glory!" "The story's all about a young man, Sky. He's the hero of the game, that finds out the princess was captured by Ashura. Ahsura needs the princess because she got magic forces that Ashura wants. He needs it to awaken the evil monster Raglan. If Raglan awakes, the whole kingdom is doomed. You gather your equipments, say your farwells, and start your journey. On the way, you'll face many dangerous things. To your help, you got an old wise man that can help you. You must stop Ashura from awakening the beast, and restore peace." Yeah, as you can see it's a classic theme, a princess that's kidnapped, a monster that will destroy the world, and an old wise man that directs you. I put it here so you can get a view of what I think of the game, disadvantages/advantages, etc. Enjoy! Review was made 2000-11-10 Yakuza's review for Skyblazer, a platform game for the console SNES. I've played a few games Sony Imagesoft has done, and frankly this is the best game Sony Imagesoft has done for the Super Nintendo(but that doesn't mean this is a top game). Sony Imagesoft focused on something totally new in the year of 1993; a platform game with no backgrounds from any other game(that's not so usual today when all companies do games that are the next in the series, etc). They just simply did a new platform game! And Skyblazer was a hit, even if not many recognised it. But Yakuza does, and here I try to give you short view of it. The rating's from 1-10, 1 being the worst kind of crap you can find, 10 being something you just have to see. ¤Story:¤ "Once, their were peace the fantasy kingdom where Sky lived. Sky was just a young boy by then, but he showed great potential in fighting and he was very interested in battles. Then suddenly the kingdom was conquered by an evil man called "Raglan", that had great skills and could use magical spells. Together with the devil, he conquered the world. The devil couldn't get up to the kingdom because he was banished down into the depths of hell, but using Raglan he could open a gate and send his troops and goons to kill all resistance. Raglan that was greedy and wanted power and money didn't think about what would happen to mother earth, and soon Raglan and the devil became partners. They also kidnapped the princess. Now, the country's in deep trouble. But still there is hope. Sky has now been raised to a complete warrior and he is ready for the mission; to restore peace and send the evil forces back where they belong. But is he really ready? He is skilled, but still there are a few things he has to learn; patience, experience and magic. Together with an old wise man that guides him along the game, they can maybe stop Raglan. Sky is very brave, but will he succeed? If not, everything's ruined, and evil will rule forever!" That's the main plot. Being a platform game, the story's what's needed. You are Sky, the young warrior that's about to save the world and the princess. The story is not a major part of the game, but it's fun to know it anyway... Score storyline: 8.1/10 #Music/sound:# Maybe Skyblazer's best catagory. Oriental and mysterious were my first thoughts about it, but the more I played the game, I found that the music on the other stages really are good. Just look at the stage "Petrolith Castle"(the ice fortress) and the others. Fitting and decent. This is the type of music I'd like to hear in the "old school-games". The tunes and music were well done, that's my opinion. The type of music is not the ones you'll go and sing, but they fit extremely good to the game. There is no doubt that the music composers worked a lot with the music for this game. Score audio: 9.0/10 /Challenge:\ Most players could beat it without too much effort. Myself, I beat it in a week(and then I only played when I had time). The stages are not that hard and the bosses you face are not too much of a fight either. You might get a few problems with a few of them, but otherwise the game is quite easy. But thanks to all of the many levels, there are plenty of things to do. Along the game you pick up jewels. These jewels give you points and the more you pick up, you get more lives. The jewels are scattered all through the game and they are easy to find so enough lives won't be a problem. You won't lose of too less lives, that's for sure. The spells you master in the game can be used in different ways. Sometimes a level can be almost seem to be impossible to beat, but when you figure out what spell you should use, it's a piece of cake. I guess you can play through "Skyblazer" five times before you're tired of it. Holds for about 18 hours or 2 months(depending on how much you play, etc). Score challenge: 6.7/10 ~Controls:~ Not as good as the mega man-series or the mario, but better than most other games'. You fight with fists and each third time you strike, Sky will use a roundhouse-kick, which is stronger. You can jump, climb on walls, crawl, crouch, use magic and more. Also, you use the control pad to move either backwards or forward(kinda natural, right?) and at the bonus stages you use the control pad to fly in the direction you want. I'd say the control is fitting and decent. Score controls: 7.5/10 +Gameplay:+ There are three major types of playing Skyblazer, at the regular style(2D platforming), 3D flying bonus game, where you collect lives(kinda 3D, not 100% though, only 2 moments through the game), and 2D flying(only once). Skyblazer's pretty fun, at least if you still enjoy platform games for the SNES and all the spells you get are interesting to explore how to use, etc. You need to know what the spells are for to get past some moments, so you better check them out! Another thing I like with "Skyblazer" is that it's original. Okay, it follows the same guidelines as all 2D-platform-games do, but the story and the gameplay is different. It's more oriental and mystic. Another + is there are no bugs or disturbing moments at all. If you think about it, how many games don't have that? Few. Skyblazer has nothing annoying, just simply a "playthrough" game. This may be both an advantage and a disadvantage. The disadvantage would be that when it's like this there are no sections to "overcome", hard sequences may be satisfying when beating a hard place or moment, beating "Skyblazer" won't satisfy many players. Score gameplay: 8.2/10 -|Graphics(- Fine. What you can expect from the SNES engine and it looks smooth. What you usually describe as "graphic" is how the game looks and is designed(backgrounds, enemies, characters, special effects, etc). The backgrounds are actually pretty amazing being a SNES-game, though the coulors of the enemies vary. You'll face many fantasy creatures(demons, flying monsters, dragons and more) and most of them are drawn pretty well. The magic spells also looks decent. Score graphics: 8.2/10 [Replay-value:] Your interest in playing "Skyblazer" again probably drops a bit after beating it for the first time. On the other hand, I've never played a game that is more fun to play the second time than the first. But I have played games that are almost even as fun as they were first. "Skyblazer" maybe is the avarage, you won't be elated if you play it again, but you won't be crying either. After 5-6 times though you'll just eventually lay it beside and play something else. Score replaying: 7.2/10 *Summary:* What Skyblazer is missing is that "last shining piece of aura", like "a sparkle in the eye", something special. Otherwise it's a fine game, and you can't be disappointed, at least not for the estimated price($10 U.S.) If you buy it for more, you may want to have more for the money. Skyblazer was simply just another platform game for the SNES, and maybe that's why it was forgotten among other titles like "Sonic 2", "Super Mario World" etc when it came out. Unfortunately. NORMAL. ------------ Panthers: ------------ Black color, and a violet head. They jump around, from pillar to pillar. Wait until they dropped down. NORMAL. -------------- Green slime: -------------- A green slimy ball that throws slimy balls. It could be hard to destroy, cause it hides beneath the wall, so use an aura shot. QUITE HARD. ---------- Pirayas: ---------- Small fishes that will eat your flesh if you're not fast. Watch out for them, they appear in a large group! They appear when you fall off the stocks. HARD. ------------ Arrow-man: ------------ An inka-guy standing shooting arrows. He's quite easy, just go near him and kill him. If you're near, he can't shoot you. This time, you're unexperienced, and Ashura will kill you, no matter what you do. You'll end up in a house, with an old man babbling. Don't worry, you can't die here! (You'll gain nothing) Rated: #/10 (You can't die) ------------------- BOSS 2: The Teapot ------------------- "The first real" boss you'll face. This time, you can destroy the boss. The main strategy(like if it was needed) is to damage the teapot as much as you can, until it reveals the spirit. Then, just wait for the lighting balls to appear, and avoid them. After that, the spirit will go in the lamp, and then it's kicking time! Hit the lamp as much as you can! Repeat this a few times and the lamp will die. A very easy boss. Rated: 3.4/10 (You'll gain the the comet flash) ------------------------- BOSS 3: The living ball ------------------------- This ball rolls along the walls in a circle. Every time you hit it, it grows bigger. In the beginning, it's very easy. But after a while when the ball's bigger, there's no place to hide! So watcha gonna do? Well, here's the strategy: When it comes to the right lower corner, it reveals an eye, in the same time it shoots a ball. Jump over the ball and hit the eye. Then it transforms to the ball, a little bigger. Jump over it. No problem yet, eh? Wait for the ball to get to the right corner, jump over the ball, and strike the eye. It grows bigger. This time you gotta use the wall to jump over it. Make a long jump from the wall over the ball. Wee! It's bigger this time! Strike the eye one more time! Oh, now it's big! Jump over it by using the wall, or the flash. Hit it one more time. Now it's huge! How will I jump over this time, it covers the whole room! The point is: hide in the left corner, duck all the way until the ball rolled away. Then strike the eye again. Now it's so huge so hide in the left corner. And hit the eye. Repeat until it dies. Rated: 5.2/10 (You'll gain the healing spell) --------------------- BOSS 4: The icy wall --------------------- The boss has three parts and all of them needs to be destroyed to beat the boss, two eyes and one small head in the middle. You can hit every one every time you got the chance. But after a while the wall will turn around and a wall comes towards you. Then you got to jump through a small hole in the wall. If you don't jump between it, you'll get smashed between the wall and the screen. So make sure to jump through the hole. You don't need to use any spells at this boss, cause none will have any function. Healing is unneccessary coz you'll die a whole life, or nothing. The main strategy is to hit the three targets, and then prepare to go through the whole. Just be quick when the wall comes towards you, and this shouldn't be a problem. Rated: 4.4/10 (You'll gain the Star fire) ------------------- BOSS 5: The fishes ------------------- Hardest boss in the game. After a LONG stage, you'll meet the fishes. You're in a big room, with streams dragging you around. In the middle of the room, there's four cocoons that produce fishes. When those four are destroyed, the boss will break down. But until then, it will produce fishes that may be trouble. I suggest you try to kill the cocoons as fast as you can, cause the fishes grow and get dangerous. Main tactic: The first thing you do when you get into the room, is swimming to the middle. There, fire a Fire star several times, and four fireballs will hit each cocoon. They take great damage. After that, swim up and hit a cocoon. Now, the others should already have produced a few fishes that will chase ya. Swim up and down, making sure the fishes follow you. When you're in the end of a corner, swim up in the middleroom while the fishes get stuck in the platform. Now quickly go hitting a cocoon and repeat the tactic. It's all about tricking the fishes to stay in a corner. If you fail and the fishes hit you, use heal to recover. If you still don't make it, don't give up. Concentrate on one of the cocoons, cause when one is dead, you have one less producer, and one less fish chasing ya. Then it's much easier. When you destroyed two, the boss is almost finished. Just keep going, and it will break down. As I mentioned, this is the hardest boss, even harder than Raglan and Ashura. So don't give up. DANGEROUS. Rated: 9.1/10 (You'll gain the timestop) --------------------- BOSS 6: The elephant --------------------- An elephant with wings(!) that jumps(!!) around. Make sure not to be under him, when he bounces around. The elephant is green, with red stains. The trunk sprays apples(!) that damage you. Aim at his trunk, and the elephant will be damaged. After a while it will break down. This boss is real easy, so no real tactic is needed. Just hit the nose. VERY EASY. Rated: 1.1/10 (you'll now gain the warrior force) ----------------------- BOSS 7: The illusionist ----------------------- You'll face the illusionist after the wind stage. He's quite a guy, that teleports around. He'll split up in three parts, all looking the same. But just one is vulnerable. If you hit the right, you'll hear the sound. The main tactic is to stand on a pillar and just hit everything. If you hit the wrong guy, nothing happens. If you hit the right one, you damaged him! So just keep doing this until he dies. EASY. Rated: 4.5/10 (You'll gain the lighting strike after you defeated the boss). ------------------- BOSS 8: The dragon ------------------- This is a boss you must defeat. However, it's very easy. The dragon has a very vulnerable point; the crystal ball. Hit the crystal ball, and the dragon will be damaged. After a few times, you start wondering if it's losing any energy; yes it does. Just keep hitting the crystal ball until it dies. The main tactic is just to jump away when the dragon appear, and then kick the crystal ball. It shouldn't be a problem, it's really easy. Rated: 2.3/10 (You'll gain the Fiery Phoenix now). --------------- BOSS 9: Ashura --------------- Last boss... or not?!? Well, it's a bad guy anyway, and he kidnapped the princess!! He's much easier this time than first you fought him. However, he wears a shield that protects him from every single strike. Use the fiery phoenix to destroy the shield. Now go for it and crush him!!! Wait for him to come, strike him, and run away. Jump up the walls to get over him, when he flies towards you. Watch out for the fireballs. But just jump over the bad guy, hit him, (use magic if you need) and you'll kill him. This is not an impressive last boss, is it?!? Well, it isn't the last.......... ----------------- BOSS 10: Raglan ----------------- Because Raglan is back!!!!!!!! Ashura really wants our hero dead, so he summons the monster Raglan. But that's no bigger trouble. Raglan looks like a warthog, with an ugly face and long arms. Make sure to not get stuck between the wall and Raglan's arm, cause then you get damaged a lot. Jump over his lazer-attack and go for the head. Hit the head a few times and you'll see he's damaged, when an eye is gone. Hit him some more and the other eye should be destroyed. And then strike him more, until he gives. No real tactic is needed, he's quite easy. But I can tell you to avoid his arm-smashing and try to time when you plan to jump toward him. Good luck! After you've beaten this ugly monster, the end-sequence will take place! That was all the bosses. Everything from beginnning to end. The bosses are not found here, check the boss section for them. This should be the longest part of the faq, so it should also be the most complicated. If there're anything you don't understand, comments, corrections, or wanta say anything, please mail me at lufia3@hotmail.com. Ok, let's get started with the walkthrough(long text starts here) """""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 1: The palace(??) """""""""""""""""""""""" This stage is not long. No real problems will show up, so just keep heading right all the way. In the background you'll see some pillars. Go right and into the next room, where Ashura waits for ya. (Boss strategy is found at boss section) Map section. Go left until you reach the tree. """""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 2: Faltine's woods """""""""""""""""""""""" So, the adventure's begun! Go right. Jump up in the trees and continue to the right. You'll face some enemies that hide in the bushes. Don't bother them, just keep heading right. Soon you'll enter the next room. Just keep heading right, you can't be lost at this stage. And it's very easy, so no trouble here. You'll step out of the stage before you knew it. (Map-time. Head to the red castle, here you'll meet the first boss). """"""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 3: The temple Infernus """"""""""""""""""""""""""""" Yes!! Finally a real stage with a boss(and an opportunity to gain a spell). Head right. Use the pillars to move further. When you get to the wall, climb up on it, watch out for enemies, and change direction to left. Go right all the way, beyond all enemies into next room. Just keep heading right, and you'll face the first boss, the teapot! (Need any help? Boss section may be something!) Congrats! You gain Comet Flash!! (Map-time. Head on to the "rocky" thing.) """"""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 4: Cliffs of Peril """"""""""""""""""""""""" Kinda flying stage. You almost float around, on a glider. Here you can't change directions, the wind directs you. But change the height if you want to. Shoot with the Y-button and lift with the B-button. Make sure to not get smashed between a cliff and the screen, then you'll die. An advice is to fly high cause then it's easier to avoid stuff. Just head on and you cleared another level. (Map-time. Head to the red tower). """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 5: Tower of the Tarolisk """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" You find yourself up on a tower. The main strategy here is to move right or left and get the tower rotating. Then you can jump to next platform. Sometimes you have to enter other rooms to get to other places. Jump right, so the tower rotates. Jump up the pillars to next room. Enter. You find yourself in a room full of spikes and on a platform with diamonds and other stuff. But it's far away! How will I get that stuff then? Use the comet flash!! "Flash" over there, and "Flash" back. Go out from the room again. Keep jumping right so the tower rotates. A blue spiky pillar floats up 'n down. Wait for the spikes to disappear, then jump quickly up. Use it to get higher up. Go in the next room you'll find. Here's some jewels + a magic- refiller. Go out again. It's just to keep climbing up to next room. Go in. Go up. Head for the next room. Here you'll face a few purple(!) dragons. If you think it's risky to walk on those pillars, use the comet flash. Go in the next room, at right. Rotate the tower. Jump onto the weird pillar, the button turns blue. This will activate new pillars to appear. But just for a few seconds!! So you gotta be quick if you wanna get up. Go up all the way and it's time for another baddie, the spiky ball! Congrats! As a reward for beating the boss, you'll gain the best spell in the whole game; Heal! (Map. Go to the house, where the geezer lives.) """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Stage 6: Gateway to eastern plain """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Yeah, here's some chatting. If you wanna see what they said, just check the dialog section(where all text in the game is) The old man offers you a ride to the next side. Yeah! It's bonus-time!!! ¤¤BONUS GAME¤¤ WHOOooo-HO!! Pick as many as you can!! Just aware of the spikes. You'll end up at the other side. Some more chatting, and maybe a code. The old man will also increase your power meter with one. Continue on your journey. (Map. Enter stage 7, the icy castle). """""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 7: Petrolith Castle """""""""""""""""""""""""" Whoa!! It's cold! You're inside an ice-castle. Head right. Just enter next room. Go down, watch out, it's slippery! Just keep going. Enter the next room. The walls are going down(classic) with spikes in the ceiling. "Hide and seek" is what rules here. Run when the ceiling is up, stay cool when it's down. And be sure to duck! If you get any problems with the slime, use your aura-spell. Just take it slowly, and you'll survive. In next place, you'll face another boss, the icy wall. Yes! A new spell to check out! The Star Fire is yours! (Map. Enter next stage, the eighth). """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 8: (more like a bridge) The falls of Torman """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go right. Watch out for the rolling stocks, or else you'll have to take a swim(and pirayas are down there). Go right all the way. Don't bother all enemies, they're not worth all the trouble. You're out of the stage before you know. """"""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 9: Lair of Kharyon """"""""""""""""""""""""" Sorry to say this, but you're inside the worst level in the whole game. It's the most complicated, the hardest boss, and the most drag one. But it's nice to have it beaten later. (This stage is quite complicated, so I just wrote down the most neccessary things, so you can easily understand). Anyway, "positive things happens to positive thinkers", you'll gain another spell! Go right. Go down in the water. Here's a control you can push. Then the water directions will change. The stream will go right now, so swim there. Enter the next room. A control is near, but the stream's on the wrong way. Use the aura spell to change it. Go right when the stream changed. Now you are in the middleroom, the biggest one. Change controls. Go up. Go up from the water. Enter next room. Go down and right. Change the controls. Go up. Go right. Don't hit the control you see now, it's unneccessary. Use your magic. Go right. Next room. Go right. Change the controls and go down. Go down as long as you can, and as long as you can to the right. You find yourself in a small room, full of squids. Yes, you made it. use the aura spell to change controls, and go down the stream in the room, and it's bosstime! Huh! That was a mess! Well, now you gain the timestop! (Map. Go to next level.) """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 10: The sandrivers of Rivol """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" You gotta go through the "Niagara Falls" here. Many stocks and pillars float here. Climb them and up to the other side, where the end is. (Map. Head to the Fortress.) """""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 11: Fortress Shirol """""""""""""""""""""""""" This is a very short stage. I can't think of any situation in this level you can get problems. Just keep heading on, and you'll clear it. (Map. Head to the Caverns) """"""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 12: Caverns of Shirol """"""""""""""""""""""""""" The first thing you do is to take the elevator down. Watch out for the lava monster. Go on the elevator to the right. Now you'll see some mystic hands. There're also spinning wheels here. Enter the next room. Go up. Take the jewels you see. Go right. Enter next room. Avoid the magician as good as you can. And watch out for his ball, it damages 5! Go up(using the elevator). Stand on a platform and duck under the spikes. Go down. And go down one more time. Enter the next room. And it's bosstime!(The elephant) (You'll gain the Warrior force-spell) (Map. Go to next stage) """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 13: Gateway to eternal wings """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go right. Some evil guys will appear. Destroy the ice that keeps the spinning wheel locked. Go right. Go to the wind. Be careful, you can't climb the ice!! You must destroy them. Ok, the spinning wheels will come out, but that's neccessary to overcome the stage. Head right all the way, and you will make it. (Map. Head toward the Fortress) """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 14: Storm Fortress of Rl´har """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Go right. Use the winds to move over long gaps. If you need some help, an advice is to use the flash-spell. It takes you over long gaps, without falling down. Go right til you get into the teleport. You're inside next "room". You will see a halloween doll. Let the winds direct you. And again, use the flash. You can't go wrong at this stage! At the end, you'll face the illusionary. (You'll gain the spell Lighing Strike) (Map. Go to the village, where you meet the old man) """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 15: Shrine of weeping widow """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Here, the old man will do some talking. You'll also gain another energy- dot. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 16: Dragonhill Forest """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" This stage is like an illusion forest. You have to find the right place to go on. Go to the rocks you can see, quite long down, almost as a cave. Keep low on the ground to find it. Go along the narrow, in to the hole. You'll end up in another place. Now you must find a tree with a hole that doesn't look like the others. The hole is in the middle of the tree. It's hard to describe, so you must find it by yourself. Just look for a hole not looking like the others. But if you didn't enter the cave, you must do that first. (After you find the tree-hollow, you'll end up out on the map again. Head to the tower.) """"""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 17: The great tower """"""""""""""""""""""""""" This is a big stage, so have patience. Use the flash to get over. A big Samurai is around. Use the flash one more time to get over the needles, and start to climb up. Go right when you're up. Samurais. Enter the next room. This is a place where the walls go down. You gotta time your running, and try to get that slimy thing quickly. Duck under the needles. And run over. Enter the next room. A big black ball is waiting for you. It drops down and chase you. Run quickly away from it! Go into the next room. A platform rotates. And down come several samurais!! This is a dangerous place, so be careful!! Don't stay on the platform when the samurais drop down, then they'll kill you. Hide on the walls. Sometimes you must jump from wall to wall. When you enter the door, you find yourself out on the tower. Go down and enter the door. Here's water. Swim and go up. Now you're out of the tower. Go in the room. Go up. Enter the next room. And there's the boss! (You'll gain the Fiery Phoenix spell!) Now the old man will talk some, and it's time to face your enemy. The old man offers you a bonus game, and you'll gain some lives. And after that, you got some business to finish. But first you must defeat all bosses again. You have to enter the last stage: """""""""""""""""""""""""""" STAGE 18: Raglan's Citadel """""""""""""""""""""""""""" You must climb a long gap. Climb up all the platforms. The fiery phoenix may seem to be an easy way out of it, but it isn't working. You can't fly enough time, before the screen is up. So skip that idea, and take the right way, climbing. When you're up, enter the room. Here you'll fight all the bosses again. If you need any help, check out the boss section. When you defeated a boss, you come to a "recovery room" where you can take some energy and relax. You will come to this room after every boss. And when you defeated the last boss, you'll face Ashura. Some talking will be, and then the fight take place. Ok, the boss strategy is in the boss section, so look there, but I just want to mention that use the fiery phoenix to destroy Ashura's shield. And after you defeated Ashura, an even more "goodlooking" pig is waiting for you. Defeat him, and the game is finished. And of course, you encounter any problems, check the boss section! Congratulations! You finished the game! Ah yeah! Enjoy the cinema scene and relax. Lovely, another game finished!!! &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& H: Help and hints(tips, help, etc) &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& If help is needed, check this place! I'm sorry but I do not know any codes for the game. If you search at www.gamefaqs.com you possibly could find it. If you need passwords, check section M. Some advices: 1. Take the jewels. You earn lives. 2. Use the flash spell often, cause it takes you over gaps without trouble. 3. Defeat all the bosses, and beat all the stages, it's more fun then. 4. Read the text. If you missed any dialogs, I added them down here. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// I: Weopons/Items \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Everytime you finish a level, you'll gain a new weopon(magic). All magic got a mark that symbolize them. Here's some info about everything about the magics. I also rated them how useful I think they are(the score is between 1-10): Here's a short list what spells there are: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |The Aura-Attack | |The Comet flash-flying/attack | |The timestop-timestopper | |The Starfire-Attack | |Healing-Refill your energy | |Warrior Force-protection | |The fiery Phoenix-flying | |Lighting bolt-Attack | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --------- The aura --------- Info: First magic you have from start. Requires 1 energy to use. An aura will explode in front of you, in the direction you're heading at, in horizontal direction. Could be handy when dealing with enemies far away. The mark looks like an aura. Rated: 7.3/10 ---------- The flash ---------- Second magic you'll gain, after you defeated the teapot. The flash is a great magic to use when you want to get over long gaps, or if you want to move long distances quickly. But it could also be used in fighting. The magic you'll use most, except the healing. Requires 2 in energy. Rated: 8.7/10 ------------------- The healing bottle ------------------- Third magic you'll gain, after you defeated the spiky ball. The healing bottle is extremely useful. With this one you can recover the energy you've lost. And often you don't get energy-tanks from the enemies, and then it can be good to have some magic to use. I use this magic often. Requires 2 in energy. Rated: 9.6/10 ---------- Star Fire ---------- Fourth magic you'll gain, after you defeated the icy wall. This magic is a battle spell. When you use it, fireballs will explode out in four directions, one at each corner. I don'y use this magic so often, it's better to save magic for the healing bottle. But it could be handy when dealing with the fish-boss, and maybe in drastic situations when many enemies are around. But I don't really use it often. Requires 3 in energy. Rated: 6.8/10 ---------- Time stop ---------- Fifth magic you'll gain, after you defeated the fishes. This magic will make the enemies on the screen stop. (But sometimes, like on bosses nothing happens.) I really can't see why this spell should be used. I think it's quite unneccessary. I never use it. Rated: 1.4/10 -------------- Warrior force -------------- Sixth spell you'll gain. This magic is neither attacking, nor healing. Instead, it protects you from strikes and enemies(in a few seconds). When you use it, you're invisible. But unfortunately it's not so important, because the game doesn't have many places where it should be used. But maybe it can be good sometime. Rated: 4.5/10 ---------------- Lighting Strike ---------------- Seventh spell you'll gain. When you use it, all enemies will be hit automatically by a flash. Not so very useful, I can kill my enemies without this kinda stuff. Rated: 3.4/10 ------------------ The fiery Phoenix ------------------ Last spell you'll gain, before fighting Ashura. This spell is just good for one thing, removing Ashura's shield. Otherwise it's useless. I can't figure any place to use it, except when climbing the falling pillars at the last stage. Rated: 2.1/10 \==-==/ Items /==-==\ On your journey, you can get energy-bottles, that refills energy, magic- bottles, that recovers your magicmeter, and jewels. A small energy refills 1 hit, a big energy refills 4 hits. A small magic-bottle refills 1 hit, a big magic-bottle refills 4 hits. 100 jewels=1 life 1 big jewel=10 small jewels 1 small jewel=1 jewel -------------------------------------------------------------------------- J: Legal things -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright! Well, this faq/walkthrough/enemy-list wasn't done without effort, so PLEASE follow these "rules" here. Well, that wasn't too bad,was it? ########################################################################### K: Dialogs(All text in the game) ########################################################################### Yeah, as you figured, this is all text in the game. If you missed the dialogs, or clicked away from it, you can check here if you wanna see it again. It took me a while to write down everything, but here it is: Introtext: "I am Raglan, Lord of Darkness, king of destruction. Ashura, lord of War! Summon your warlords, conquer the overworld, restore my glory!" First stage, facing Ashura: Ashura: "Young sorceress, descendant of the mystic pantheon... you will soon be a faithful servant of my master!" (After Sky's been defeated) Ashura: "And this young cur was hardly worth my effort!" Old man: "Rouse yourself, whelp. There are greater problems than your petty pains". (Healing). Sky: "M-must stop Ashura. He has captured the young sorceress Arianna!" Old man: "You've not the power to save her! Why, you barely survived a single battle." Sky: "Do you not know who I am? I am known as Sky". Old man: "You are of the blood of the sorceror Sky-lord. Hmmm.....whelp, you may have a hope of victory after all". Sky: "I will humble him, as did my ancestor before me!" Old man: "And the cost of his life. You lack his skill and power. He was a weopon forged in the fires of battle." Sky: "I will not fail. Ashura must be stopped!" Old man: "Then look to the patterns, young one, and remember".....(code coming up) Sky: "Will this mystic pattern help preserve my quest?" Old man: "Of course, whelp! Why do you dally here? Go!" Sky: "Consider me gone..." Old man: "I hope your breast carries a stout heart, whelp." (At Gateway to eastern plain) Old man: "Pretty good Sky-whelp." Sky: "I am much better than good, old man." Old man: "It is the blood of heroes flowing in your veins that has carried you this far. More battles awaits you." Sky: "I am ready to fulfill my destiny. " Old man: "Not so fast. If you journey to the eastern plains, then thereis no retreat and no return from there. Are you prepared?" (Choose yes or no, and after you chose yes you'll start the bonus game) (After bonus section) Old man: "I see that you avoided getting lost in the flight, eh? It is good you are here, greater struggles await. You must first master the 4 minor powers to prepare for the ultimate power... The fiery Phoenix!" Sky: "I must gain that power!" Old man: "I will magically increase your endurance." Old man (Choose story, mystic patterns , resume) (If you choose mystic patterns, he says "Study the mystic patterns of your quest and remember.....) Old man: "Good, you are ready! No hesitations then. Be gone!" (Shrine of the weeping Widow) Old man: "Fortunately for you, my guidance has led you far. Now you must seize the final power, young one. You must face and defeat the great dragon. If you survive, you will gain the power of the fiery phoenix." Sky: "But how do I defeat the great dragon?" Old man: "That I cannot see here. You must seek the answer within." Sky: "What do you mean is that you don't know!" Old man: "Begone! I fear for the young sorceress....and for us as well!" Sky: "Shouldn't you raise my endurance a little?" Old man: "I did not forget.... And good luck young whel... young warrior." Old man (Shrine of Destiny) Old man: "You've done it! There is no more I can do for you." Sky: "So am I ready now to defeat Ashura?" Old man: "I don't know. Are you?" Sky: "I guess I am. I must. It is my destiny." Old man: "Youngster, I believe you may be ready after all." Sky: "Then there is little cause to wait." Old man: "And no turning back. Are you certain you are ready?" (Choose yes or no) (After second bonus game) Old man: "You have come far, young warrior." (Choose story, show mystic pattern, or resume) (Last battle, facing Ashura) Ashura: "You! I know you...I thought I destroyed you before. I'll not make the same error twice." Sky: "You'll not live long enough to have the chance!" Ashura: "Ah, a challenge! I suppose even the smallest insects must make noise before being crushed underfoot." (And the fight begins!!!!) (After Ashura has been defeated) Sky: "Sorceress! Are you okay?" Sorceress: "Thanks to your courage. I'm in your debt, great sorceror." Sky: "!!!!" Sky: "Old man!?" Old man: "You fools, do not celebrate now! The battle is not over! Ashura still lives!" Sky: "Impossible!" Ashura: "All things are possible to the Lord of war. Just as you have hidden power, so have I! Raglan, my master, I call upon you, Lord of Darkness. I surrender my power so that you may destroy our enemies!" Raglan: "I am Raglan. Lord of Darkness King of destruction. I wield the power of all darkness. I am invicible." Sky: "Protect Arianna until her magic returns, old man." Sky: "And as for you Raglan, who will protect you from me?" (Sky fights Raglan) (After the fight) Sorceress: "He is victorious, but where did he go, do you see him?" Old man: "Do not worry sorceress. Hereos are not lost so easily. I am sure he is well." Sorceress:" But I did not get a chance of reward him for his courage." Old man: The blood of hereos are not rewarded by thanks, it's fired by adventures."
