Section 4: Arigatozu (Thank yous) Section 5: Legal Stuff Section 6: Contact Me ( typos adn things) <- this is purposely done! Section 1: Getting Started- Hello, and welcome to my Nickeldeon GUTS Walkthrough /FAQ-Sort-Of-Thingy, this will show you all the ins and outs of the one and only (kinda disappointing, but fun-to-some) Nickelodeon GUTS video game. Before you start playing, be aware that this game can be frustrating at times, but, if you can make it to the Aggro Crag, you'll be okay (if you beat the Aggro Crag, also, here's a fact, Aggro Crag means "Aggressive Rock"!). Now, BEFORE you do start, make sure you tap the a button that toggles options (A, Start are the only ones I know), once your done with setup (these are the options and descriptions of them)- Player: # of players, only 2 can play at once Level (doesn't actually say level)- Beginner (better if you're new), Advanced (if you're feeling a bit lucky and want a better challenge, even though it's hard enough...) Music: Toggle Menu, In-Game and "Description" musical themes (Why, oh why, would you want to turn this option off? It's got the classic GUTS theme! and a dramatic Aggro Crag theme!) Event Setups: Shows you what the scoring is for events (No instructions?? Come on, that's serious cheapness!) Start Game: Starts the game (hey, isn't that a supprise?) And, before you think you're done, you've gotta choose if you want a "GUTS Show" or "Single Event", Show is 4 events, Single Event is obvious. Then you gotta select your GUTS color! (Long and boring setup, right? Well, after the color, you select your character, FINALLY!!) And one more thing I must stress, YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE 700 POINTS IN A SHOW TO TACKLE THE AGGRO CRAG!! Fall even 1 point short, and you'll miss out! Section 2: Players- These are REAL kids and they were immitated by the SNES' amazing graphics (for it's time) *insert video game graphics joke here*. Anyway, their names are as follows (in order of mentioning in the ending, which you see if you beat GUTS)- Chris Ewing Deborah Chandelore Tilky Jones Kenny Layne Tanya Lopez Brooke Osbourne Sean Pagilario Myhela Reed Julian Silverman And here are the characters from left to right and top to bottom (starting from the far left, and going right top, bottom, next row top, bottom, next row top bottom, etc.): Like this chart: 2 4 6 1 8 3 5 7 Character 1- Gender: Female Wt: 97 Ht: 5 foot 0 Favorite Sport: Gymnastics Character 2- Gender: Male Wt: 98 Ht: 5 foot 1 Favorite Sport: Basketball Character 3- Gender: Male Wt: 110 Ht: 5 foot 4 Favorite Sport: Basketball Character 4- Gender: Female Wt: 104 Ht: 5 foot 3 Favorite Sport: Baseball Character 5- Gender: Female Wt: 111 Ht: 5 foot 4 Favorite Sport: Football Character 6- Gender: Female Wt: 105 Ht: 5 foot 2 Favorite Sport: Soccer Character 7- Gender: Female Wt: 113 Ht: 5 foot 6 Favorite Sport: Football Character 8- Gender: Female Wt: 108 Ht: 5 foot 4 Favorite Sport: Track & Field (I purposely put a space, because there's no space in the game, and I prefer to be correct when spelling) Whew!! That's a lot to read (and typing for me :), *ahem*) A bit, one sided, huh? Section 3: Events and how to do them!- Here's the meat of the game (even though it's a bit more like cheese, but, that's just me)- Event 1- Attack: Event Type: Aerial Time Limit: 2:30 Usually the opener, this game gives you a lacrosse stick and you gotta toss some sorta tennis-like calls into a net (with a square frame) with that stick! 5 points for regular shots (by pressing the B button) and 10 points for a "Special" (these are worth 2 regular shots in this event, but are harder to hit, unless you've got ungodly timing! They are harder, because your character does a "special move"! You'll hear "Awsome!" or some other line from the announcer, if you hit these!)! TIP: Move to the FAR (until your character can't move anymore) left, press down until you get in-between about the 4th and 5th "Notch" (Long "stripes" of the power measurement bar, looks like a ruler!) You'll hit more shots this way! Event 2- Tornado Run: Event Type: Gym Time Limit: 7:00 The second hardest event, you'll need a lot of patience and great timing for this event! You'll need the five following "keys" Left, Right, Down, Up, X and Y. Up grabs onto poles, Left and right move (well, what else did you expect?), Down slides (hold the diagnol to slide, after you "run") and crouches, X does a "Super Jump" (a bigger and more wacky jump than a basic jump, but, easier to lose "health"!) and Y does a basic jump (smaller than a Super Jump, but, usually gives you better "foot placement" if you're "still" from landing). TIP: You'll need to practice this event often to be great at it. If your "stamina" (health) is a little low, let your character breathe. If you go on to much and you're hit without stamina, you'll automatically fail the event! (This has happened to me at least twice in my "GUTS Career".) Event 3- Spirals: Event Type: Aerial Time Limit: 2:30 An Attack "clone", you just do the same for this event from that event. No more, no less. TIP: The "Special" is a LOT harder in this event, but, you can pull it off with practice! Remember, to do a special, you MUST press X and Y together (not simultaneously, but close to it.) Event 4- Basic Training: Event Type: Gym Time Limit: 6:00 This is a *slightly* easier version of Tornado Run and tends to be shorter than Tornado Run, BUT, you need better reflexes here, as you have less time! TIP: Your score is based on your time, with every second you have left over, you have 1 point for each second, if you have 30 seconds left, you score 30 points! (Just like the other "gym" event!) Also, the rules for the other Gym event applies! Event 5- Slam Dunk: Event Type: Aerial Time Limit: 2:30 This has to be a bit frustrating at first, but is actually the EASIEST event in the game's entirety! Just use B for a Regular shot (a bit harder than a Special shot) and X and Y for a Special (actually easier than a Regular shot!). Tip: Just like the other Aerial events, move to the extreme left and go to the 4 or 5th notch, let go of down, do your shot and just let the ball go in! It's very easy, is it not? Event 6- The Aggro Crag: Event Type: Mountain Time Limit: 7:00 This is THE HARDEST event in the ENTIRE game! Not to mention the most frustrating one, if you fall all the way to the bottom of the course and have to climb all the way back up! Watch for "Water Spouts" (the vertical water things that'll eat some of your energy) and the green rocks (they will take a huge chunck out of your energy... :() Just like the 2 "Gym" events, you get 1 point for every second left! You MUST hit all "Actuators" (the GUTS term for the lights, or in this case, the "sewer covers"... :)) TIP: Don't let the music get the best of you, the music is adventurous and dramatic, but, don't let the "pressure of the music" get you! Once the music starts, keep a steady head! You shouldn't worry about the clock, I mean 7:00 minuets? Jeez, you'd think taking the real Crag would be harder than this! (Which I wouldn't know :() Just keep playing! Even if you don't make it all the way to the top of the Aggro Crag, you'll still take home the "Glowing piece of the radical Rock". You absolutely MUST hit all actuators before the last one goes down. If you reach the top, you see a number of lit-up flags, this represents the number of actuators you've hit! If 5 of the six flags are lit, stomp on the last one and you'll beat the game! Bonus Event: Event Type: Aerial Time Limit: 1:00 All you do is just knock off the "baseballs" from the wall. It's just like the event "Off The Wall" (seen on the show!) Hold up to jump, left and right to move, and just let your out-of-control character knock them off! 1 Bonus Point for each ball knocked off. Knock off every ball (which is extremely hard) and you'll receive 1 point for each second left on the clock. Failure to do so will only give you 1 point for each ball you knock off. CONGRATULATIONS!! You beat the game AND are taking home a piece of the rock! If you didn't win your first time round, don't fret. There's always a second chance! Plus, if you failed to make it to the top of the Crag, or, missed one actuator Section 4: Arigatozu (Thank yous)- TheIntellivision (For loving GUTS, the show, almost as much as me!)
