Introduction ====================== Mario's Time Machine is an educational game focusing on history. Bowser has stolen fifteen artifacts from history and he has placed them in his museum. Mario decides to make his way to this museum and use Bowser's time machine to return the artifacts to their rightful owners and back to their places in history. Mario does this by picking up the artifact. Once he does that he must then take a look at two pages of information on the person the item belongs to. There are around fifteen empty blanks on the two pages. To fill up the blank spaces with the correct information, Mario must go back in time and speak to the people located in town. Once he has filled up the sheets of paper he can then find who the artifact belongs to within the town, and return it to that person. Once finished with that he may return to the museum and the next artifact. There are five artifacts on each of the three floors in a museum. Mario must complete each floor before moving on to the next one. There are two endings in this game. One ending is the incorrect one and the other is the correct one. To get the correct ending you must return the artifacts in the correct order. You can not do them all randomly, because that will result in the incorrect ending. If you do them in chronological order, that won't work either. You must return the five artifacts on each level in the exact order you did on the other two levels. For that reason, I recommend you move left to right on each of the levels. Begin with the artifact on the left and move through them until you have completed all five of them. Move to the next level and do the same thing, left to right. The final level should also be done this way. You must fill out the information on the two pages. For each blank space you are given a multiple selection of possible answers. The best tip I can give you on how to properly fill them in yourself is to read through the entire thing. Then go back through and fill anything you already know and then remember what you need to know. If you left ten blanks left undone, you need to know what you will be looking for when you speak to the people in town. They will not repeat themselves, so it's a good idea to carefully read what they are saying. I should also mention that once you leave the museum, you can not continue to your goal, until you skid across the ocean and pick up ten mushrooms. Once you pick up the ten mushrooms enter a whirlpool and then you will be in the time you wanted to be in. If you don't pick up the mushrooms, but enter a whirlpool, you will be returned to the museum. Of course making this process more difficult is the fact the mushrooms will appear and then disappear. Another thing is the fact there are man o wars on the ocean as well. If you hit these, Mario will lose all the mushrooms you had picked up so far. Once you do make the change though you are within the town. Speak to everyone, fill in the blanks, and speak to the person that needs the artifact, and return it to that person. Then you must stop the timer and return to the museum. ==================== 2. Version History ==================== Version 1.0 - This is the first version. It is divided into the three floors and each floor is divided up into the five artifacts. Within the section for that artifact I explain where and when you need to go, what you need to return, and a list of the answers to fill in the blank pages. Finally, I explain who the person you need to return the artifact to is and where he or she is located. (Dec. 3, 2000) Version 1.1 - Fixed the formatting and some typos. Other minor adjustments. ===================== 3. Controls ===================== X - Pick up the artifact from the pedestal it is on. To put it back hit this button again. B - Jump.
