Introduction | o===========================================================================o Hey everyone! I'm Aquilae, and I'm a big fan of Japanese turn-based strategy games like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics. I had a blast of a time going through Fire Emblem 5, and I just wanted to share a few helpful tips since the game can be pretty hard at times. =) If you've played Fire Emblem 4, you'd most likely be familliar with the story so far. I don't want to spoil it, Fire Emblem 5 takes place in the middle of FE4, around Chapters 6 to 8. You'll be playing as Leaf, who is the heir to Lenster in Thracia but is forced out, so he has to fight his way back and at the same time deal with the dark mages and stuff that are running around killing people. I'll try to make this guide as spoiler-free as possible, although there may be minor spoilers if you scroll forward to a Chapter, and see that you can recruit this guy and stuff like that. If you can't read Japanese and want to understand the plot you can refer to FireLizard's excellent Game Script Translation on GameFAQs. o====================================================================[GBAS]=o | II. Game Basics | o===========================================================================o _____________________________________________________________________________ A) Moving around the map [GBAS.A] _____________________________________________________________________________ To move around the map, hover your cursor over the character you wish to move. Press the "A" Button and a range of squares will appear around your character. The light coloured tiles are where your character can move, the red shows the maximum attacking range of your character. Your characters' movement range is determined by their Move stat and the terrain. Some characters will be impeded by hills, their movement range is decreased as the hills are in their way. Characters on Horses cannot cross hills at all, while characters riding Wyverns or Pegasi are not impeded by them at all. Additionally, there may be obstacles in your way such as walls and doors. Doors can be opened by a Thief with Lockpicks or by a unit with a Door Key. Once you have moved, a menu will pop up, with several actions to choose from: Wait: Ends the characters' turn immediately Attack: An enemy unit is in range of your weapon, you can select it to initiate a battle Staff: Use one of the Staves in your inventory Trade: Trade items with an adjacent unit Help: Pick up an adjacent unit. This will be touched on in detail in Section L: Capturing, {GBAS.k} Catch: Initiate a special battle where you attempt to capture an adjacent enemy unit. This will be touched on in detail in Section L: Capturing, {GBAS.k} Swap: Take a unit an adjacent ally is holding. See Section L for more. Drop: Drop an allied unit on a space adjacent to the unit. See Section L for more. Free: Drop an enemy unit, removing it from the field. See Section L for more. Off: Get off the characters' mount. Ride: Get on the characters' mount. Door: Open a door either with a Lockpick or a Door Key. Chest: Open a chest either with a Lockpick or a Chest Key. Talk: Initiate a conversation with another unit. Shop: Enter a Shop on the map. Visit: Visit a House on the map. Arena: Enter an Arena. The Arena will be touched on in detail in Section G: The Arena, {GBAS.g} Steal: Only units with the ability Steal can do this. You can take and give items to the enemy, but only if said items have a lower Weight value than your Build, and if you are faster than the enemy. Dance: Only units with the ability Dance can do this. You can give an adjacent character who has just ended his / her turn another turn. Anim: Chooses the units' animation, whether it is on or off. Only applies if Animation is set to "Auto" in the menu. After mounted units have finished their actions, they can move again as long as they did not move in their maximum movement range. For example, A mounted unit with a move of 8 moves 5 squares, After he has finished his action, he has the option to move 3 squares. However, if he moves 8 squares, there will still be a menu popping up after his action, but he cannot move again. Characters may get a second turn after they have ended their turn, which happens when a music note appears above their heads. The chance of this happenning is: o---------------------o |(Movement Stars * 5)%| o---------------------o Movement Stars can be found in the Character Status screen. _____________________________________________________________________________ B) Attacking [GBAS.B] _____________________________________________________________________________ When an enemy is in attacking range of your character, you can choose to execute an attack. There will be a menu that pops up before you confirm your attack. __________________________________ | | |Enemy Unit's Name or Affiliation | |Enemy Unit's Class | |Weapon equipped by Enemy Unit | | _________________________| | | | | | XX | Level | XX | | XX | Health Points | XX | | XX | Total Attack | XX | | XX | Total Defence | XX | | XX | Accuracy | XX | | XX | Critical Rate | XX | | XX | Attack Speed | XX | |________|_______________| | | | |Allied Units' Name | |_________________________________| The amount of damage you would deal is equal to: o---------------------------------o |Your Attack - The Enemy's Defence| o---------------------------------o If your attack is lower than said Enemy's defence, you will do 0 damage. There are two different types of attacks, Physical and Magical. Attacks that count as physical attacks are all Lances, Axes, Bows and Swords, with the exception of Magical Swords which are Magical attacks if used from a distance of two squares. All spells and Magical Swords used from a distance of two squares count as magical attacks. Physical Attacks base the Total Attack on the Strength value of the character, while Magical Attacks base the Total Attack on the Magic value of the character. Total Defence versus physical attacks is based on the "Defence" stat while total defence versus magical attacks is based on the Magic stat. You can attack twice with your weapon if your attack speed is at least 4 more than the enemies. Similarly, the enemy can attack you twice if their attack speed is at least 4 more than yours. Some weapons have a 2x hit effect, meaning for every normal attack you can execute two hits. An example of which would be the Brave Lance that Fin comes with. This is not to be mistaken for a second attack. On your second attack, you have an increased chance of landing a critical attack on your enemy. This is dependent on your Pursuit Critical Coefficient (hence referred to in this guide as PCC). This value differs from character to character, ranging from 0 to 5. The critical rate for the second attack is: o-----------------------------o |(Normal critical rate x PCC)%| o-----------------------------o This critical rate applies to all second attacks, even if Skills activate. _____________________________________________________________________________ C) The Menu [GBAS.C] _____________________________________________________________________________ Whenever you press the 'A' button on an empty square, a small menu will pop up. These are the options: __________ | | | Unit | | Status | | Options | | Suspend | | End | |_________| The "End" Option at the very bottom closes the menu. The "Suspend" Option right before that allows you to save the game in mid-battle and quit the game. There will be a new option in the starting menu that will allow you to pick up where you left off. The "Unit" option brings up a table of all your units on the field: ___________________________________________ | | | | | Type of Menu | Sorting Criterion | X / 6 | |______________|___________________|_______| There are six menus: Importance Data, 1/6 Equipment Data, 2/6 Fighting Skill, 3/6 Personal Data, 4/6 Weapon Levels, 5/6 Special Skill, 6/6 All of the Menus allow you to sort your characters based on their position in the formation screen. It is the far left option. The "Importance Data" lets you see your characters' Class, Level, EXP, HP and Max HP (from left to right), and sort them based on it. The "Equipment Data" allows you to sort your characters by their Equipped Weapon, Attack, Accuracy and Dodge. The "Fighting Skill" menu allows you to sort your characters by their Strength, Magic, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defence and Build. The "Personal Data" menu allows you to sort your characters by their movement, current Fatigue level, their negative statuses and which character they are currently holding. The "Weapon Levels" menu allows you to sort your characters by their proficiency in a certain weapon type. The "Special Skills" menu allows you to sort your characters by the amount of Skills they have. The characters are sorted from highest to lowest. The "Data" option lets you see a summary of the battlefield. _______________________________________________________ | | | Chapter X: | |______________________________________________________| | | | Goal: | | | | Total Captures / Total Wins: ( / ) | | | | Turn Count: XXX turns Total Gold: | |______________________________________________________| | | | | Number of Units on the Field, | Enemy Leaders' Stats | | sorted by faction | | |_______________________________|______________________| The Options Menu lets you configure your game. From top to bottom: Battle Animation: On, Off and Auto. Auto lets you select the type of animation for each unit, when a unit has finished moving there should be an option at the bottom, to configure the units' animation. Terrain Window: On, Off. There is a small window at the upper right detailing the evasion and defence boosts a specific tile of terrain will give you, if a unit is standing on the tile and not flying. This turns the window on or off. Unit Window: On, Off. When you hover the cursor over a unit, there will be a small window showing the units' name, its HP and its Max HP. This turns it either on or off. Autocursor: On, Off. Whenever your turn ends, your cursor will automatically revert to Leaf. You can turn it off, meaning your cursor will stay in the same position as it was when you ended the turn. Message Speed: Slow, Normal, Fast. This changes the rate at which text is scrolled. Unit Speed: Normal, Fast. This is the speed at which units move. Some units may take longer to move than other units normally, so there is an option to speed up and standardise the rate at which they move. Sound: Stereo, Mono. Background Music: On, Off. Sound Effects: Normal, Soft, Softer, None. Sound Effects are the sounds that are normally played when there is a small event, such as opening a door and destroying a wall. This allows you to change their volume. Window Colours: A selection of 5 preset colour schemes. You can also adjust the RGB values of the top and bottom colours in the option below it. _____________________________________________________________________________ D) The Status Screen [GBAS.D] _____________________________________________________________________________ More ASCII!! ________________________________________ | | | | Name | | | Class | | | | Attack Crit% 40| | Lv 20 E 0 | Hit 180 Evade 76| | HP 99 / 99 | Range 1 ~ 2 | |__________________|____________________| | | | | Fighting Data | Possession Item | | | | | Strength 20 | Narga **/** E | | Magic 20 + 20 | Holsety **/** | | Skill 20 + 20 | Falaflame **/** | | Speed 20 + 20 | Torhammer **/** | | Luck 20 | Loputousu **/** | | Defense 20 + 20 | Gae Bolg **/** | | Build 20 | Gungnir **/** | | | | | Personal Data | Weapon Level | | | | | Affiliation | Sword - Fire A | | Leadership *s | Lance A Thunder A | | Movement *s | Axe - Wind A | | Holding: | Bow - Light A | | Move 20 | Staves A Dark A | | Fatigue | | | Condition | Skills | |__________________|____________________| The screen can be accessed by hovering over a character and pressing X. The stats at the top of the window are your in-battle stats, not factoring in enemy evasion and weapon triangle advantage (discussed later). - Fighting Data Here's a rundown of your stats: Strength - Affects physical attack damage Magic - Affects magic attack damage, acts as your Magic Defense (Resistance stat in later FEs) Skill - Affects your chance to hit and land criticals, and your chance of casting twice with certain staves Speed - Affects your Attack Speed and Evasion, and your chance of casting twice with certain staves. Luck - Affects your Accuracy, Evasion, Critical Evasion and your chance of casting twice with certain staves. It also decreases the chance that the Devil Axe (an equippable weapon) will backfire on you. Defense - Affects how much you take from physical attacks Build - Affects Capturing and Helping, and your Attack Speed with physical weapons. If your build is higher than the weight of the weapon, you will suffer no Attack Speed penalty, but if it is lower, then you will suffer a penalty of the weapon's weight minus your Build. Build does not affect the AS of magical weapons, you will suffer an AS reduction equal to the weight of the tome regardless of your build. Certain weapons provide a boost to your stats, they can go beyond the cap of 20. Leaf's Light Sword and Fin's Brave Lance are examples of these. You can also get boosts to your Magic by standing on special tiles, or by using Pure Water or having the M Up Stave be cast onto you. - Possession Item I don't know, maybe the game designers thought that badly translated English would make it look cooler. You can hold a maximum of 7 items on one character. The 'E' next to a weapon indicates the character is equipping the weapon at the time. All weapons and items have uses, which are displayed at their right. The right number indicates their total uses, while the left indicates their remaining uses. Several items have unlimited uses, such as Scrolls. Weapons with unlimited uses are rarely seen and can only be found on enemies and NPCs. - Personal Data Your Affiliation shows what group you belong to. Characters in a certain group will recieve a Leadership bonus from any of their units with Leadership stars. Leadership stars offer a small bonus in Accuracy and Evasion for all units in that group. Each star adds a bonus of 3% Accuracy and Evasion. Movement stars measure how likely your character will get re-movement. Re-movement is the chance to move and perform actions after you have ended your turn, like a second turn. When a music note appears above your characters' head, he / she has activated re-movement. Each character has a (Movement Stars * 5) % of moving again. This includes NPCs and Enemy units. "Holding:" simply shows you which character a unit is carrying, be it ally or enemy. "Move" shows your characters' total movement stat, the amount of squares he or she can move in one turn. The actual movement range of your character is affected by terrain, for example horseriding units cannot cross hills, foot units suffer a reduction in movement when crossing, and Wyvern or Pegasus riders are not impeded by them. Fatigue is a measure of the characters' Fatigue level, which will be gone over in detail in section IIf), {GBAS.F} "Condition" shows the negative status effect that your character currently has. Negative status effects include Poison, Silence, Sleep, Berserk and Fatigued. Poison: Characters lose 1-3 HP each turn Silence: Characters cannot cast any form of magic or use Staves Sleep: Characters' stats except HP and Build are reduced to 0, character cannot take his / her turn. Berserk: Character will randomly attack anything in range Fatigued: Character cannot be selected for the next battle unless he / she is holding a Stamina Bag. - Weapon Level Weapon Level denotes your proficiency in a certain type of weapon or magic. All weapons have a required Weapon Level, any character whose weapon rank is below that cannot use it. For example, a Live staff requires an E in Staff rank, meaning Leaf cannot use it as he doesn't have one. A Silence Staff requires a B in Staff Rank meaning only Characters with a B and above in Staff Rank can use it. Some weapons have a "*" in their weapon rank. This shows only certain characters can use it, only Leaf can use the Light Sword, only Fin can use the Brave Lance, both which have a "*" in req. weapon rank. _____________________________________________________________________________ E) The Weapons Triangle [GBAS.E] _____________________________________________________________________________ Every Fire Emblem game has this system of a weapon triangle. It is like Rock, Paper, Scissors, one weapon type has an advantage over another. In Thracia 776 the difference isn't as pronounced as in other Fire Emblem games, but you should still take it into account to be on the safe side. Whenever a weapon has an advantage over another, the wielder gains an extra 5% to Accuracy and Evasion. The Lance beats the Sword, The Sword beats the Axe, The Axe beats the Lance. A similar system is in place for Magic, Fire Beats Wind, Wind Beats Thunder Thunder Beats Fire Light and Dark Magic beat all of them Bows are excluded from the Weapons Triangle, but they hit Flying units for three times normal damage. _____________________________________________________________________________ F) Fatigue [GBAS.F] _____________________________________________________________________________ A unique aspect of Thracia 776 is its Fatigue system. Basically it prevents you from using the same characters over and over again and forces you to diversify. Whenever your character fights or uses Staves, his / her Fatigue level will rise. Once that level has gone beyond their Maximum HP, they will obtain the "Fatigued" status and will be forced to sit out the next chapter. The Fatigue level is found at the bottom of your characters' status screen, and only comes into play after Chapter 8. If your character is fatigued, you can use them again if you give them a Stamina Drink. You shouldn't be relying on these too much since they cost a lot. _____________________________________________________________________________ G) The Arena [GBAS.G] _____________________________________________________________________________ Arenas are special buildings where you can enter and battle opponents for money. If you lose, your character dies. They are the round, light brown buildings that resemble Colloseums and can be found in Chapters 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16A, 20, 21, 22 When you enter the Arena, you have to bet a sum of money. If you win, you get back twice of what you bet. This sum usually ranges around 1000G. When you initiate a fight, your characters enter the arena and battle against a random character. You can press the B button to stop the fight any time to prevent your character from dying. You characters gain EXP from the Arena but their fatigue levels will also go up. The bonuses from Charisma, Supports and Leadership carry over into the arena. _____________________________________________________________________________ H) Fog Of War [GBAS.H] _____________________________________________________________________________ On certain chapters the map will be pitch-black except for a small 2-square circle around your characters. These chapters are 12, 2x, 4x, 8x, 11x, 12x, 14x, 21x and 24x, which are all the Gaiden chapters and Chapter 12. You can increase the range of your sight by using a Torch or by using the Torch staff. You can move as per normal in the darkness, but if you bump into an enemy you cannot act and will stop there. Similarly, you can Warp or Rewarp a character to any space in the map regardless of whether it is lighted or not. When you have moved onto a dark space, you cannot immediately see what is around you. It is only after your turn that you would be able to see properly. The Torch and Torch staves lose their effectiveness over time, the range at which you can see decreases at 1 square per turn. The Torch / Torch Staff range moves with the character who has used them. _____________________________________________________________________________ I) Supports [GBAS.I] _____________________________________________________________________________ Whenever a character is within 3 panels of another character whom he / she supports, that character will recieve a 10% or 20% boost to Accuracy, Evasion, Critical Rate and Critical Evasion. _____________________________________________________________________________ J) Skills [GBAS.J] _____________________________________________________________________________ Skills are special abilities that activate in battle or have an effect on other characters. Some skills can be learnt by using a Skill Manual that can be found in the game. Some weapons provide Skills to the wielder. Some characters come with Skills already, Leaf has Continue and Fin has Prayer. - Wrath When counterattacking (an enemy attacks you), you get a 100% chance of criticalling. Anyone with Wrath is good unless they come horribly underlevelled and have horrible growths. If you have both Ambush and Wrath, Wrath will not activate (=/) An Ambush attack is treated as a normal attack instead of a counterattack, so Wrath does not activate. The only situation in which Wrath will activate is when the enemy also has Ambush, and as such goes first. - Prayer You have a (Luck x 3)% chance of dodging a fatal attack. - Elite Gain 2x the normal amount of experience. Elite is a great skill as units with it level up extremely fast, and will gain stats faster as well. - Big Shield Enemy's attack does 0 damage. Has a (Level)% chance of activating. Promoted units' levels are taken to be their current level + 20. A ton of bosses have this skill, making it really annoying when they negate your attacks. - Dance Gives you the "Dance" command, which lets you enable your allies to move again. Dance is a great skill, but sadly the only unit you get with this skill is incredibly frail and bad at dodging, so you'd have to protect her and keep out of the range of long-range magic / ballistae. Dance is awesome if you're using high level staves though. 2x status, warp, rescue is great, and pretty much essential to get several items. *cough*DragonLance*cough* - Charisma Gives a 10% hit and evasion bonus to units within three panels. Charisma is a great skill as you're likely to need all the evasion and hit you can get to survive a horde of rushing enemies or kill off bosses. - Moonlight Sword Ignores enemy defence, always hits. Has a (Skill)% chance of activating. Again, a good skill but its activation chance isn't very high, as such it cannot be relied on to kill specific enemies. - Sun Sword Absorbs HP equal to the amount of damage dealt to the enemy. Always hits, has a (Skill)% chance of activating. Its very satisfying to see an enemy attack you, Sun Sword activating and the enemy killed while you heal to full health 8D - Charge / Duel If your Attack Speed and HP are higher than the enemies', you will initiate another round of combat. Charge is pretty iffy. It gives you an easier time capturing enemies or finishing off specific units, but you'd be shot twice by Ballistae, Long Range Magic, and you'd take 2x the beating when another enemy attacks you. - Steal Gives you the 'Steal' command, which allows you to take / give an item to the enemy if your Speed is higher than the enemy and if your Build is higher than the weight of said Item. Unless you RNG abuse you won't be stealing much other than Vulneraries and Tomes. It is still extremely useful, you can cripple Mages and get stuff without capturing an enemy. - Awareness / Nihil Negates enemy's Skills, they will have no effect. Nihil has limited use in this game, you can stop Big Shield from activating but other than that there are few bosses that have notable skills to protect against. - Bargain Buy items for half price. - Ambush Always attack first. Ambush allows you to finish off enemies before they can land a hit on you, which is quite useful. The Ambush + Wrath combo doesn't work in this game, regrettably =( - Life Recover between 10 to 20 % of your HP each turn. None of the units you can get have this skill, but you'll see it on a specific enemy in the game. - Shooting Star Sword Initiate 5 consecutive hits (10 with Master weapons) Crazy overkill =) - Continue Has an (Attack Speed)% chance of initiating another hit. _____________________________________________________________________________ K) Capturing [GBAS.K] _____________________________________________________________________________ Capturing is another system unique to Thracia 776. You can capture and hold enemies and take their items while holding them. You will suffer a decrease in stats though, and depending on your Build your Move might be cut into half. Mounted units can Capture any foot unit unless it has 20 Build. Foot units or dismounted Mounted units require a higher Build than the enemy to capture them. When you attempt to capture an enemy, your stats are reduced to half of their normal value. Once you get their HP to 0, the enemy will enter your custody and you can trade with it. When you Free it, it is counted as dead. Capturing is your primary source of equipment and items, as there is virtually no way to make Gold aside from capturing, and Weapons cost a lot. To capture a mounted unit, you must put it to Sleep, dismounting it and enabling you to capture it. You can also hold your own units and NPC units through the 'Help' option. Your units stats will decrease as per normal. This is helpful for getting NPCs to a certain point, or protecting them or your units from harm. _____________________________________________________________________________ L) Leveling Up [GBAS.L] _____________________________________________________________________________ Whenever your character gains a level, he / she has a chance of gaining points in their primary stats and Movement. These chances are called growth rates. Leaf has a growth rate of 70% in HP, he has a 70% chance of gaining a HP point after he levels up. These growth rates can be further boosted by holding a scroll. Having a scroll in your inventory increases your growth rates in certain stats by a fixed amount, and might decrease them as well. In addition, scrolls negate criticals, units holding a scroll can never get criticalled. The bonuses are as follows: HP STR MGC SKL SPD LUK DEF BLD MOV Baldo Scroll : 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% Odo Scroll : 30% Hezul Scroll : 30% 10% -10% Dain Scroll : 5% -10% 30% 5% Noba Scroll : 30% -10% 10% -5% 5% Neir Scroll : 10% 10% -10% 10% 10% Fala Scroll : 5% 5% 5% 5% Heim Scroll : 30% 10% -10% Blaggi Scroll : -10% 10% 30% Sety Scroll :-10% 10% 30% Tordo Scroll : 5% 5% 5% 10% 5% Ulir Scroll : 10% 10% 10% The maximum level a character can get is level 20. When you reach level 10, you can use a Knight's Proof and promote your character if they are not already in a promoted class. You will gain stats and weapon levels but you might miss out on some levels if you promote your character before he / she reaches level 20. However, in Thracia 776 this is fine, it has low stat caps and thus missing out on a few levels won't make too much of a difference. Experience gain slows down around level 15 or so, you might want to promote your character because of that. Bear in mind that there are few Knight Proofs, you shouldn't waste them on units you don't plan on using, or units that are already good and don't need to promote. The only characters which do not require and cannot use Knight's Proof to promote are Leaf and Linoan. Both require special methods to promote which will be detailed in the walkthrough. o====================================================================[WALK]=o | III. Walkthrough | o===========================================================================o _____________________________________________________________________________ A) Chapter 1: The Warrior of Fiana [WALK.1] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Life Ring (Upper-Left house) Medicine (Bottom-Left house inside town) Iron Sword (Middle house) Pugi Axe (House to the bottom, outside of town boundaries, Othin only) Brave Axe (Bottom-right house, Halvan only) Characters: Leaf Fin Othin Halvan Eyvel Dagda (Joins on Turn 3) Tanya (Joins on Turn 3) Marty (Joins on Turn 3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the first chapter of the game, and it is pretty easy compared to the other chapters. Try to familiarise yourself with the mechanics of the game. The goal for this Chapter is to kill the Boss, then move Leaf onto the space where he was standing and Seize the Throne. This applies to all maps with this objective. Eyvel, and Dagda (who arrives on Turn 3), have very high stats compared to your other characters. Although they are godlike for the first few chapters, their usability drops and they would become subpar units in comparison to the other guys in your army. Furthermore, they gain piddly EXP for each kill they make. Othin, Halvan, Leaf and Fin gain more EXP and turn out better, so you should reserve kills for them Leaf starts out with the Light Sword, try to conserve it and use it only against units with high Defense. Leaf's Light Sword can be used, it has the same effect as Medicine (restoring his HP to full), so you might not want to waste it. Fin starts out with the Brave Lance, which gives him twice the hits. Use him for capturing but let Leaf, Othin and Halvan handle the rest as he gains less EXP than them as he starts out at a higher level. When you start off, you should send Othin to the bottom house and get the Pugi Axe, which is an incredibly powerful weapon. Meanwhile, Leaf and the rest should move into town. Try and give kills to Leaf and Halvan. Othin, Halvan and Fin are top-tier units. It should be pretty obvious why =) Dagda will arrive with Tanya and Marty, but I would recommend against using them both. Tanya is stuck with what is arguably the worst weapon type in the game, Bows. She cannot counter at close range, and since most enemies attack at close range she cannot counterattack and kill them off, letting the enemy focus their attacks on you for one more turn. Marty has unspectacular stats, promotion gains offset these somewhat but he's not worth it over other units you can field. Anyway, get to the bottom-right house with Halvan to recieve the Brave Axe, and set your sights on the throne. Kill the boss with either Eyvel's Fire Sword or Dagda's Hammer, his Defence is too high for your other units to damage him and its not worth wasting Leaf's Light Sword on. Once he's dead, take the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ B) Chapter 2: The Village of Ith [WALK.2] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Keep all villages intact, visit all villages Items Obtainable: Speed Ring (Upper-Right House) Medicine (Lower-left house) New Characters: Ronan (enter northernmost house) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another easy Chapter, should be straightforward, kill pirates, visit every house and try to capture enemies for their stuff. Again, try to go for enemies with Medicine. Ronan is a complete joke. Don't use him. He's stuck with Bows, has high Magic (he can't use any Magic) and bad stats all around. For the Boss, just use Eyvel to kill him, since your characters can't do significant damage against him. _____________________________________________________________________________ C) Chapter 2x: The Pirate Isles [WALK.2x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Fort on the island south of your starting location (Torch, you need to wait on the space to get it) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The first Gaiden Chapter in Thracia 776. If you didn't get this chapter you should probably reset, since this chapter is very important - you can get two great characters in the next chapter. If you didn't keep a save at Chapter 2, just restart, 2 chapters isn't a long way anyway. Basically you will have to deal with enemies rushing out of the dark, but they aren't too strong, they're more or less the same as the ones in the previous chapter. There are a few Warriors around but they aren't too threatening. Go woutheast (down + right) as it is the most efficient way to the gate. You will have to move north when you get to the lower-right corner, and not far off from there you will see a few sword-wielding Mercs run out. If you see one that has a portrait and is named Shiva, don't kill him. He is recruitable in a later chapter, and obviously you wouldn't be able to get him if he is dead. However, you can Capture him, just don't Release him. That way you can get the Killing Edge that he holds. Lifis is the boss of this chapter, and he is easy, probably due to the fact that he has no weapons whatsoever. Use a unit with higher Build to capture him, but don't Release him. Seize the throne, and you may want to trade an Iron Sword to Lifis before Seizing the throne. Thieves like Lifis are important as some chapters absolutely require you to have a Thief or several Door Keys to complete them. Try to steal a few Lockpicks so you can continue using your Thieves. _____________________________________________________________________________ D) Chapter 3: The Gate of Kelves [WALK.3] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Baldo Scroll (Bring Lucia to the lower left house) Shield Ring (Bring Roman to the upper left house) Meteor (One of the two chests in the chest room) Armorslayer (One of the two chests in the chest room) New Characters: Lifis (If you captured him and did not release him in Chapter 2 Gaiden) Saphy (If you completed Chapter 2 Gaiden) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This Chapter is straightforward enough. You have to seize the throne while taking the chests at the top of the map, and bringing the children to their respective houses. I can't really provide specific directions on which child to bring to which house, so you'd have to use trial and error to find out. Sorry in advance. However, if you play the English translation, or you can read Japanese, then I can provide a list of the children and how to transport them to the houses. Lucia - Lower-Left House, Baldo Scroll Roman - Upper-Left House, Shield Ring Yuvel - Lower-Right House, triggers an event in a later chapter Corple - Upper-Right House, triggers an event in a later chapter Now if you got Lifis and Saphy in the previous chapter, they will help a lot in this chapter. Lifis is a Thief, he has the Steal skill which allows him to take stuff off an enemy if his Build is higher than said items' Weight. His Build growth isn't too good though, but you can RNG abuse it if you want to. =/ Anyway, he can take spells off Mages and render them useless. There is a Fire wielding Mage in the map, so Lifis can cripple the Mage easily. He can also steal Vulnearies and Scrolls which might help in the chapters to come. Give him an Iron Sword if you didn't already, if he is unequipped enemies can capture him easily and take his stuff. Saphy is your generic cleric, she can heal with her staves but cannot equip any weapons, so you'd have to be careful not to let her get captured. Try to use Saphy's staves as much as possible, you'd want her to get an A rank in staves as soon as possible. Don't use the Repair staff, there are quite a few items that are more worth repairing than the stuff you have with you. Anyway this is the first chapter to feature an indoors section. Mounted units have to dismount to go indoors, taking a penalty to their stats and more often than not forced to use different weapons. For example, Fin cannot use Lances indoors, and is forced to use Swords. A general rule of thumb, never use mounted units indoors as the reduction in stats and being forced to use a different weapon makes them vastly inferior to foot units when indoors. Advance towards the building, taking out the enemies while you're at it, and have Lifis open the door and unlock the prison cell. You will then have to Rescue the children and bring them to their respective houses. Leave Fin outside and use him and Eyvel, Marty, Ronan, Tanya and maybe Dagda to ferry them to their houses. The rest of your units should press on towards the boss. It is important to save all of the children as this will help in later chapters. If you've played Seisen no Keifu you should recognise one of the children there ;) There is a Meteo Tome and an Armorslayer in the chest, get both of them. If the Bishop unlocks the door and takes them, try to capture him to get the stuff. There is a Storage area at the northeast corner (upper-right), where you can store your items. There is a limit though, but it should be enough to tide you over for the rest of the game. There is a vendor at the northwest corner (upper-left) who sells Vulnearies and the like, but I'd advise you not to rely on the shops as the items are horribly expensive, it is more efficient to rely on Capturing for equipment. There are a few reinforcements that come around turn 10-17, but you should be able to handle them. Have Eyvel kill the boss with her Fire Sword. I advise you to trade everything Eyvel is holding to either Leaf or Lifis. She also should trade her Fire Sword to either one of them as it will help a lot in the next chapter. Give the Baldo and Hezul scrolls to Leaf or Lifis, and pass them Halvan's Brave Axe if you have it. If you have the space, give either of them a Short Lance (the one the Soldiers hold). Make sure Leaf has his Light Sword, and then seize the throne. Keep another save file for Chapter Four. _____________________________________________________________________________ E) Chapter 4: The Dungeon [WALK.4] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Save all civillians (not including the Axefighters) Items Obtainable: Steel Sword (Randomly placed in an empty chest) Javelin (Randomly placed in an empty chest) Rapier (Randomly placed in an empty chest) Medicine (Randomly placed in an empty chest) New Characters: Machua (Joins automatically) Brighton (Joins automatically) Lara (Joins automatically) Fergus (Joins automatically) Karin (Joins automatically) Dalshein (Joins if you saved Yuvel in Chapter 3, and when Leaf talks to him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Did you enjoy the plot twist? I know I did =) Anyway, the goal of this map is to make it to the red arrows at the top of this map. When Leaf makes it to the red arrows and chooses to Escape, the Chapter will end. Any character that hasn't escaped will be left behind and gone for a long period of time. You should ensure everyone escapes before Leaf does, and that he is the last one to leave the map. Only Machua, Brighton and Lara have equipment, the rest of your members are unequipped. A quick rundown of these guys: Machua is okay. She suffers a lot due to bad strength, her PCC doesn't always activate making it unreliable at times. She is locked to swords until promotion further hurting her damage. She comes with Ambush. Brighton is a great unit because he has Wrath. Although his stats are subpar Wrath and a horse (he is dismounted in this chapter) more than makes up for it. Lara shouldn't fight at all, her stats are extremely bad. She can steal, but due to her low Build she can't steal much. She'd be useful for picking locks and unlocking chests, but her use is limited up to Chapter 12x where she gets a buff. Fergus is a mounted swordsman with great stats and killer PCC. He has maximum PCC giving him a high chance of criticalling with every other attack. I'd definitely recommend him. Karin is a Pegasus Knight, she can fly over anything when mounted. Her Strength is bad though, her Speed and Luck are high but it doesn't help allieviate this problem. She's very helpful in reaching hard-to-reach places, and is needed to reach houses in later chapters. Chapter Four is the first hard chapter in Thracia 776. You have to rescue the civilians, deal with all the reinforcements and finally go through a horde of enemies to escape. First things first, you should move Machua to attack the soldier, it'll kill him if she gets a critical. You should have Lara open the door to the first chest room, then unlock the door with Lifis. Trade over Machua's chest key to Lifis and use him to unlock the rest of the chests. His Axefighter friends will help kill off the armors. Press on towards' Leaf's cell, unlock his door and the treasure rooms. Try to trade Leaf, Fergus and Karin weapons. Machua comes with an extra Iron Sword, so you can trade it to anyone that would need a weapon. Leaf and Lifis' stuff are in the treasure boxes. Their location is random, and there are several "substitute" items if they don't have a full inventory. You can get a Rapier, Javelin, Steel Sword and Medicine. The Rapier is very helpful, the following maps will have many Armor Knights and you can just pass it to a Sword Unit to deal massive damage against them. Reinforcements will start streaming out of the three pathways at around turn 7. Some carry Short Lances and others Javelins. Only a few will come at a time, usually not more than one or two. Make sure your characters are equipped, then concentrate on freeing the civillians. Have two units stand on the eastmost tiles, where the soldiers spawn, to prevent them from spawning on that space. Unlock the doors and let the civillians move to the exit. If I remember correctly the units need not move out of their positions in the passage as the civillians can escape even if an allied unit is blocking. Repeat this for the west cell. Once you've freed all the civillians, have your units move to the top while fending off the reinforcements. Fergus should have gotten a higher rank in Swords, so he can use the Fire Sword which will help a lot against the remaining enemies. Have Lifis or Lara unlock the doors, and have Leaf with his Light Sword and Fergus with an Armorslayer / Fire Sword / Rapier block the passage, standing where the door used to be. They should take a few hits but survive. Hopefully Dalshein didn't die, if he did then a reset is in order. =/ Have Leaf talk to Dalshein and finish off the remaining enemies. You can Capture the Priests easily and take their Staves. Any enemy without weapons can be captured and stripped easily. Once the troop has been killed have everyone except Leaf escape. Leaf should be the last person to leave the map. Dalshein has high base Defence but oddly low Defence growth. Due to the prevalence of Armorslaying weapons in this game and his low speed he isn't too useful. He's okay for general tanking but I'd recommend someone else in his place. However, he's pretty awesome with the Brave Axe, I recommend giving it to him since he's forced in the next few chapters. _____________________________________________________________________________ F) Chapter 4x: The Hero of the Winds [WALK.4x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Life Ring (Chest in upper-left room) Hero Sword (Chest in upper-left room) Iron Blade (Chest in upper-left room) Sety Scroll (Have Karin talk to Sety) New Characters: Asvel (Joins when Leaf speaks to him) Note: You don't get Sety. ;_; ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another Fog of War chapter. You should rescue all the civilians here as this will allow you to recruit another character later. There aren't any reinforcements at the left and right steps so you can feel free to unlock the doors and let the children make their way there by themselves. There are two NPCs' at the top of the map, Sety and Asvel. Sety comes with Holsety, which is a very weak weapon (seriously! heh). Asvel is recruitable and is your only mage for quite some time. Anyway you have to face a horde of enemies similar to those in Chapter Four. Just block the passages and shield vulnerable units, let them get killed in Enemy Phase and finish them off. Sety and Asvel should be making their way downwards. Unlock the cell doors with Lifis and Lara. Have Lifis or Lara unlock the big door at the top, recruit Asvel and get Karin to speak with Sety to get the Sety scroll. Asvel comes with Grafcalibur, his personal spell. It is awesome, it has a high critical rate, low weight and good power. Try not to waste his Grafcalibur uses, you'd need it to deal with several problematic bosses later on. Trade him a Fire tome if you got one by stealing with Lifis or capturing. There is a treasure room at the upper left, unlock the door, deal with the Bishop and snag the treasure, The exit is at the upper right corner, just unlock the doors and deal with the rushing enemy units. Sety should take care of any enemy reinforcements with Holsety. _____________________________________________________________________________ G) Chapter 5: Mother and Child [WALK.5] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Skill Ring (Chest in lower-left chest room) Magic Ring (Chest outside the castle) Lockpick (Chest in lower-left chest room) New Characters: Nanna (Joins automatically) Eyvel (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I might have mixed the chests up, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Another indoor chapter, the goal is to reach the red arrow on the left side of the map. There are quite a few mages that rush towards you and many Armors, but generally the Armors don't move unless you go into their range. You can use Asvel or Karin to lure the Mages and have your units beat on them. Eyvel and Nanna start out inside an Arena where they'll be pitted against promoted enemies. First, move Eyvel as far right as she can go, and put Nanna right next to her, but not in the enemies' range. Nanna's skill Charisma will give Eyvel a 10% boost to hit and evasion, and will help her dodge the hits of the enemies. Meanwhile, push onwards with the main group. Try to defeat the first troop of Armors so you can move on and unlock the Arena door. Next turn, move Nanna right next to the door and Eyvel below here, so she won't get rushed by the enemies. You should press on towards the arena. Soon, Mareeta will be released into the map. She will go for Eyvel but Eyvel won't counterattack. Just let Eyvel take the hits and unlock the door when you reach it. If a unit named Galzus appears, don't attack him, he'll run off when the door is opened. Besides, I don't think any of your units can kill him anyway. Once you've unlocked the door, Eyvel should be Teleported and turned to Stone. Nanna can move out and assist your team. There might be one or two enemies left, use Asvel or someone strong to kill them. Their stats aren't very high so you need not worry about them too much. Open the door that leads outside, and I'd recommend giving the Chest Key to Karin, let her mount her Pegasus outside so that she can reach the chest quickly. You won't lose too many turns sending Karin down as opposed to say, Lara. There is a Meteor Bishop nearby so you might want to send Asvel or a unit with high MGC to tank his hits until you can reach him and kill him. Make your way down, and be wary of the Silver Bow Archer and the Dark Mages near the Chest room. The Silver Bow Archer can deal quite a bit of damage so you'd need to take him down quickly. The Dark Mages have Yotsmung which hits hard and adds the Poison status, stripping a few hitpoints off a unit each turn. Try to rush the Dark Mages so that they don't do too much damage, take the Chests with Lifis and / or Lara, and then regroup and bail out. _____________________________________________________________________________ H) Chapter 6: The Escape [WALK.6] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: (Note: You can only get these if you saved certain children in Chapter 4 and 4x) Rapier (House in upper row, second from the right) Elite Manual (House in second row, second from the left) Knight's Proof (House in third row, fourth from the right) Odo Scroll (House in bottom row, second from left) Pure Water (Far right house in bottom row) New Characters: Hicks (Joins if you saved a certain child in Chapter 4x, and when you visit the house fourth from the right in the upper row) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You have to either reach the south end of the village or exit through the lower-right exit to beat this chapter. It is suicidal to rush into the horde of enemies that are pursuing you, as there are quite a few of them, and even if you managed to get past them Galzus will appear and tear through your team. You should send all your units except Karin down and to the right, weaving through the rows of houses on the right side and visiting them as they go along. Karin is the only unit that can feasibly get the items on the other side of town, so you should deploy her there. She should be able to dodge the Armors' hits, so don't worry too much about it. When you visit the a house on the north row of houses, on the right side of town, Hicks will join you if you saved a certain child in 4x. Hicks isn't too good, his stats aren't too great and unlike Brighton he doesn't come with Wrath. He has a Halberd which has 3x damage on calvary, keep it as it will be useful later. Try not to let your vulnerable units get into range of the Armors, use Dalshein or someone with enough HP to block passageways and allow your units to move downwards. Meanwhile Karin should be reaching the houses and visiting them for several great items. Once Karin is done, have her move downwards and escape through the red arrows at the south, and Leaf's group should be able to escape soon after. As always, let Leaf escape last. There is an Armory and Vendor in this map, but the weapons cost a bomb and you'd have to sell quite a few things to afford them. I'd wait until you have access to the formation screen before buying stuff from the store. There is also a Storage building here, feel free to deposit any spare items there. (Note: Galzus can be defeated but only with massive RNG abuse / sacrifices, so I really really don't recommend it. If you kill him (not capture him), you won't be able to activate an event much later on in the game) _____________________________________________________________________________ I) Chapter 7: The Shield Of Thracia [WALK.7] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Knight's Proof (Lower house on the left) Antitoxin (Upper house on the left) Warp (If you brought Corple to his house in Chapter 3) New Characters: Saphy (Joins automatically) Fin (Joins automatically) Shiva (Joins when Saphy talks to him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You have to make it to Hannibal's mansion and escape. Along the way you should see Shiva and his band of Swordfighters. You have to make your way through, recruit Shiva while dealing with the cavalier reinforcements that are streaming out from the top of the map. You should visit the villages, the enemies on the left won't attack you unless you enter their range so it's perfectly safe to go there. Position Hicks, Brighton, Fergus and Dalshein around the top of the map. The rest of your team should push downward, while Karin flies over to Fin and Saphy. Have Fin dismount to cross the mountains and Saphy follow. Try to stall the Swordfighters as long as possible by not attacking on Player Phase, if you've killed all of his troops Shiva will go after you and may get killed in the process. There will be a Paladin boss appearing at turn 2, killing him will halt the reinforcements and you can make your way down without any trouble. You can use Hicks' Halberd, trade it around so that Brighton and Dalshein can get shots on him too. Alternatively, you can block the square where he spawns effectively stopping the reinforcements as well. Karin should keep flying down and Help Saphy, dropping her off just out of the Swordfighters' range. You should use Karin to lure Shiva by putting him in her range, but he tends to critical hit quite a bit so it is kind of a gamble. Once Shiva has attacked Karin, and if both of them survived, you can move Saphy to recruit Shiva and finish off the rest of his troops. Shiva is a Swordfighter with great stats and a great skill in Sun Sword, when it activates it drains HP from the enemy, equal to your damage dealt to him. Shiva's strength will pick up and he will become a great unit, but his low Move is a letdown as he isn't as mobile as mounted units and won't be seeing much action in outdoor chapters. Fin should have crossed the mountains by now and heading south, the rest of your army should head south towards the mansion. If you haven't stopped the reinforcements from appearing, having a unit that isn't Leaf enter the castle will make Hannibal deploy his Armor Knights and stop the reinforcements. There is an Arena and a Vendor in this chapter. The Arenas offer experience and gold. You can place a bet and let your character battle against enemies to gain experience and recieve the equivalent of double your bet back. Beware, as units that die in the Arena are considered to have died permanently. Don't spend too much time on the Arena, you might be disadvantaged in the next chapter. Just try to sneak in a few rounds in the Arena and then exit into Hannibal's mansion. The Vendor here sells Heal staves so you might want to buy one or two for Nanna and Saphy. If you saved Corple in Chapter 3, you will get a Warp Staff. This staff is extremely useful in later chapters, which was why I suggested you train Saphy's Staff rank so she can use it. _____________________________________________________________________________ J) Chapter 8: Purple Dragon Mountain [WALK.8] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Capture the boss within 16 turns (after that he cannot be captured), and don't release him. Tanya and Dagda should have survived Chapters 1 to 3. Items Obtainable: Knight's Proof (Upper Left House) Knight's Proof (Boss has one, you should get it off him after he's captured.) Luck Ring (Lower Right House) New Characters: Othin (Joins automatically) Halvan (Joins automatically) Carrion (Joins automatically) Marty (Joins when Othin or Halvan talk to him, or if you Capture him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A nice break from the previous hard chapters. Chapter 8 is quite easy as the Brigands on a whole aren't strong and are using inaccurate Axes. Have a few units rush to the boss and capture him while you train up your underlevelled characters on the Brigands. Othin and Halvan rejoin in this chapter, they both are great as always. Carrion joins in this chapter, he is a Social Knight able to use both Swords and Lances. He has great stat growth and despite his low starting level he can catch up and become a great unit. Definitely recommended. In this Chapter you get to access the Battle Preparations Screen which allows you to choose the units you are using and organise their equipment before starting. You can also buy Iron weapons from a vendor and retrieve items from your storage. You should start to see the Fatigue system coming into play. Your characters have a place in their status screen marked Fatigue (refer to the Game Basics for more information). If that level is higher than their maximum HP they cannot take part in the next chapter unless they are holding a special item called an S Drink. Anyway none of your units should be Fatigued unless you overused the Arena. Try to use different characters each chapter so that your units don't get fatigued, forcing you to use weaker characters. The Fatigue level resets whenever a unit sits out a chapter. There are a few special events that require you to bring specific units, so I'll remind you not to let that unit get Fatigued in time for the next Chapter. Try to let Asvel sit out this chapter, he'd be a great help in dealing with the boss in the next Chapter. Bring Othin and Halvan to this chapter to recruit Marty, and try to let Carrion get some kills so he can level up and get going. Marty is in the center group of Brigands, let Othin and Halvan come close and recruit him with either of them. Alternatively, you can capture Marty, he'll join immediately after (he will still be held by your character though). Marty has horrible stats as before, but he can promote to get a substantial increase in stats which might make him useful. He isn't worth it in my opinion. Rush to the throne and capture the boss while your other units stay behind to deal with the Brigands. Fin and his Brave Lance should help in capturing the boss. Once he's captured, strip him of his items and let Leaf seize the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ K) Chapter 8x: Dagda's Mansion [WALK.8x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Items Obtainable: Devil Axe (Chest in the left Chest Room) Wrath Manual (Chest in the left Chest Room) Neir Scroll (Chest in the right Chest Room) Hammer (Chest in the right Chest Room) Leg Ring (Chest in the upper-left corner) Holy Water (Chest in the upper-right corner) New Characters: Dagda (Joins automatically) Tanya (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another Fog of War map, but the enemies aren't too threatening. Dagda and Tanya should be able to hold off the enemies while you make your way to them. Bring a Thief as there are chests, and bring Asvel as he is a great help against the boss. Bring the Light Sword and Fire Sword if you have them. Try not to use Carrion in this chapter, you'd need him in the next chapter to get a nice sword. Asvel is quite helpful in the next chapter too, so don't use him too much. You'll do fine without him anyway. There are Archers in the Treasure Room, and you have to pass by to get to Dagda so try to keep your vulnerable units, like your Thief from being sniped down. Once you've made your way through the right side and to Dagda, have your Thief raid the chests in the right chest room while you regroup and deal with the units surrounding the boss. You should bring Dagda or another strong unit to accompany the Thief to the next Chest room, and finally let him raid the Chest at the top part of the map. The Boss, Gomes, is a tough nut to crack. He has sky-high defence meaning Dagda won't be able to scratch him, he has great attack meaning any unit attacking him will eat a hefty counter. Asvel with Grafcalibur, Leaf with Light Sword and a Fire Sword user should do well against him, take care that they don't get sniped down by Gomes with his bow. Once you've got all the chests, seize the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ L) Chapter 9: The Nova Emblem [WALK.9] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: S Drink (Visit a village at the bottom of the map) Fala Scroll (Visit a village towards the top of the map) New Characters: Selphina (Joins automatically) Kein (Joins automatically) Alba (Joins automatically) Robert (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The mansion is under attack, and Leaf has to make his way over to assist the defenders and protect the mansion. You need Karin next chapter to rescue certain villages, so try not to bring her. I'll be running over the units in a bit: Selphina comes at a high level but has mediocre stats and growth rates. She has Duel which hurts her quite a bit as Ballistae and Long Range Magic users get free shots on her. She is still a mediocre unit even if she didn't have Duel. Kein and Alba are generic Lance Knights, so generic that they don't have a single line in the game. They come rather underlevelled with no clear advantage over your other units, they have solid growth rates but its not worth training them unlike Carrion. Robert is another silent one, he is a Bow Knight with good stats and grows fast as he starts at a low level. The catch? He is locked to Bows which automatically makes him a terrible unit. You cannot counter most enemies in Enemy Phase using Bows, and at most you can kill one or two enemies in Player Phase. This might have been evened out if he had great offense, but it doesn't warrant his fielding. I'd use any unit that came with Ichival personally =) Anyway, you should go through the forest to reach the guys there, as if you go straight down, left and up you can be sniped by a Meteor Bishop and attacked by a horde of Armors. A few Dragon Knights should be making their way towards you, Asvel most likely can one-shot them with Grafcalibut but Othin and Halvan do great against them too. They are quite annoying as they come with Killer Lances, a stray critical could mean death. Have Kein and Alba stall for as long as possible by blocking the paths to the mansion while your units make their way there, and Selphina or Robert can break out of formation to kill a Dragon Knight or two. Have Carrion speak with Selphina to get the Elite Sword, a nifty sword that provides 5 Def and the skill Elite, which doubles EXP gain. It isn't exclusive to Carrion, any unit can use it as long as they have the required rank so feel free to switch it around. Once you've fended off the rushing armors, get the Fala scroll and if you want to, you can travel to the bottom of the map to get the S Drink and fight some Armors and the Bishop. The Bishop comes with a Wind Tome, which is quite rare and a great tome to give your magic-users (mainly Asvel heh). There is an Arena here, but you shouldn't dawdle too much. Finish the chapter by having everyone escape into the mansion. _____________________________________________________________________________ M) Chapter 10: Noel Canyon [WALK.10] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Items Obtainable: Rescue (Village at the north end of the map) M Up (Village at the south of the map) Knight's Proof (Steal from boss or capture him) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You get to meet Ballistae for the first time in this chapter! They are giant bows that can shoot stuff from a long range, deal loads of damage and have a decent hit chance (~30%). =) You'll need Karin to feasibly reach the village with the M Up Staff in the south of the map. Keep her out of range of the Ballistae for the first turn, then have her move there and dismount so that the Ballistae don't kill her in one hit. Visit the village, and on the next turn Fly out of the Ballista's range. The rest of your team should rush the Fire Sword Armor guarding the Bridge, you might want to capture him for his stuff. You should aim to reach the Rescue Staff Village by the north as soon as possible otherwise it will get destroyed by the Thief. You can send a group to take out the Ballistae by the Arena too. Note: Dodging Ballistae makes a unit more Fatigued, but since Leaf is not affected by Fatigue you can use him to take the Ballista's hits. Once you've reached the middle of the map, Fred, a Paladin, and Olwen, a Mage Knight will come out. These two are unkillable and have the potential to wreak havoc on your team. Both Olwen and Fred have weapons that are magic-based, and in addition to that Olwen has Daim Thunder, an extremely powerful Thunder tome. I'd recommend sending Leaf or another dodgy unit to block the path near the six Armors so that they can't target your frail units. You should support Leaf by healing him with Nanna or Saphy. After four turns, they should leave and the rest of the chapter is straightforward. Advance, Capture the boss or steal from him for his Knight's Proof and Seize the Throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ N) Chapter 11: Dandrum Fort [WALK.11] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Beat the Chapter in 30 turns, make Fred an and ensure Fred survives Items Obtainable: Torch Staff (Chest) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You might want to bring both Lifis and Lara. You have to bring at least one of them because I don't think you have enough door keys at this point in time. Lara has durability issues though, and there are ballistae in this chapter so if it hits it will severely hurt or kill Lara. Take care of the Armors and Archers guarding the front entrance, and send some sturdy units like Othin or Halvan north to deal with the Armors. Fred won't attack unless he is attacked. Don't move Leaf into the center area with Fred until the Armors are dealt with. Once Leaf enters the room, Fred will become an NPC and six doors will appear. Kempf deploys two Ballistae. Unlock all the doors in the south and in the north of the map, and pray you don't get hit by the Ballistae. Fred will escape to the south, so move your units upwards. Get the chest at the north chest room, unlock the door with Kempf and kill off his troops. Attack Kempf once with a high Magic unit so he can take Kempf's Tron, Kempf will leave next turn letting you seize the Throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ O) Chapter 11x: Murder Hollace [WALK.11x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Items Obtainable: None New Characters: Fred (Joins automatically on turn 2) Olwen (Joins when Fred speaks to her) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A small thing to note, try to get Saphy's Staff Rank to B, let her get to level 10 and then promote her with the Knight's Proof for an A rank in Staves. It will enable you to use the Warp staff and another staff which you'll be getting, which will help a lot in Chapter 12x. You need a Thief or a door key for this chapter, as you have to unlock the door leading to the boss and throne. A Thief also lets you see better in Fog Of War which will help a lot. You will have to traverse a narrow hallway with Archers and Mages sniping at you through the walls. Asvel or a unit with a Fire Sword would be nice for taking them down, but if you KO them after they attack more enemies can get shots off on you, which might not be desirable. On turn two, Fred comes around the north of the map. Move him down and tackle the Soldiers. Try to get to the cell with Olwen as fast as possible. Fred is a Paladin, a unit that is already promoted. His base stats aren't spectacular and his growth rates aren't anything special either. He'll basically sap EXP that could be better used for other units. Your team should move along and exit the hallway. The boss has long range magic so heal up before going south to the boss room. Once Fred reaches Olwen's cell, have him unlock it with his Door Key, and on the next turn recruit Olwen. Olwen should take the Daim Thunder Fred is holding so she won't get captured by the Soldiers. Olwen is a great unit, but she comes a little overlevelled like Fred. She has access to the Daim Thunder tome, a massively powerful tome that also has a massive weight. It has 18 weight effectively making her doubled by almost anything. She can use other tomes, and when you get the manual that teaches Ambush and teach it to her, she can take down enemies easily with Daim Thunder. There is a unit that you will have to sacrifice Olwen for (he doesn't join if Olwen is in your party), so if you're not planning on using her I'd suggest not giving her an Ambush manual. He is the better unit of the two so I'd suggest against using her for too long. Fred and Olwen should escort the children outside and make sure that they escape as they will allow you to get several items in the next chapter. Once you've got to the boss room, try to Capture the mages with Wind or steal from them as Wind is an awesome spell. Defeat the boss, then seize the throne when all the children have escaped. _____________________________________________________________________________ P) Chapter 12: Thieves of Dakia [WALK.12] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Beat the Chapter in 19 turns Items Obtainable: Magic Ring (Visit a village with Olwen, only available if you saved the children in 11x) (The village is the one where Mareeta comes out from) Silence (Village towards the north, only available if you saved the children in 11x) Heim Scroll (Village at the south, only available if you saved the children in 11x) Ambush Manual (Steal from Warrior Boss) New Characters: Mareeta (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If anyone can point me as to where the village with the Magic Ring is, it'd be much appreciated. I didn't know of its existence until I found it somewhere on Serene's Forest. The only non-Gaiden chapter that has Fog Of War. If you saved the children in 11x you can get some goodies from the villages. Bring Karin to reach the village with the Silence Staff. This is the first time in which you will see a Status Staff. Status Staves have infinite range and a high chance to hit, and the status effects never wear off unless a unit uses a Restore Staff. The boss, Salem has a Sleep staff, which can be debilitating if he hits a lot with it. Mareeta will join towards the left end of the map, have her move left and take down the brigands. Send a sturdy unit downwards to get the village with the Heim scroll, have Karin fly northwest to reach the village with the Silence staff. If you use the Torch Staff (I don't recommend using the Torch, you'll see why later), you can see the hordes of Brigands and maybe catch a glimpse of the Warrior Boss. Mareeta has crazy Speed and Skill growths and great Strength growth, meaning that almost anything she touches will get killed (I'm not exaggerating here). She does have durability and movement issues meaning that she isn't a god, but a great unit nonetheless. Just try not to let her get swarmed by enemies. He has an Ambush manual and is pretty tough to take down due to his high Defence, Asvel will help and Magic Swords help a lot too. You can steal his Ambush Manual, but I don't find it really useful except on Olwen, so it isn't that important. Salem should be firing off Sleep from the Sleep Staff, if he hits a unit said unit will have most of his stats reduced to 0, and be vulnerable to capturing. Try to protect units that have been hit, since you can't get Restore staves this early and the Sleep Staff only has 3 uses anyway. Mareeta should reach Salem before your other units do, don't kill Salem, instead move upwards and kill off the Brigands for more exp. You have to capture Salem to recruit him in the next chapter. Try to make your way as fast as possible to Salem, capture him (shouldn't be too hard, Yotsmung decreases his AS to really low levels) and seize the Throne. Make sure that you do it within 19 turns. _____________________________________________________________________________ Q) Chapter 12x: Dandelion [WALK.12x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Items Obtainable: Armorslayer (Lower-right chest, near starting location) Shield Ring (Right chest at the upper row) Knight's Proof (Chest at the far left, outside the building) Charge Manual (Left chest at the upper row) Reserve (Middle Chest, north of starting location) New Characters: Salem (Joins if you captured him in Chapter 12) Pahn (Joins if Lara, Lifis or Salem speak to him) Tina (Joins if Saphy speaks to her) Trewd (Joins if Pahn speaks to him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This chapter is very easy if you have Saphy (or god forbid Asvel or Nanna) with an A rank in staves, enabling her to use a Warp Staff. Salem joins you in this chapter if you captured him the previous chapter. He isn't a very spectacular fighting unit, Dark Magic gimps his AS to really low levels due to its high weight. He's fine with another type of tome though. He starts with C Rank Staves, meaning with a bit of training he can use B Rank and A Rank staves, which are pretty overpowered in this game. He's good for staff utility but isn't good in other areas. First off, you should bring a unit with a Torch (Dalshein should have one). Have the unit move up and use the Torch. You should see the Throne Room right next to you, with Pahn and Tina inside it, and you should see Trewd somewhere above you. Have Saphy Warp Lara (Lifis or Salem could do it, but I'd recommend Lara) into the Throne Room. Have her speak to Pahn, and she will class change to become a Dancer. Her stats will be reduced, but she will gain the skill Dance which allows her to refresh units that have moved already. Lara cannot Steal anymore, but she still retains her ability to use Lockpicks. Lara as a Dancer is quite situational, on maps with Ballistae and long-range magic she is a liability as she can't dodge and has durability issues. Dancing can be useful but you'd have to shield her most of the time unlike Dancers in other versions of the game which have good dodging abilities. Pahn is a great unit. Firstly, he comes with Sun Sword, allowing him to regain lost HP. He is a decent combat unit so he doesn't need to be shielded all the time, and he has Ambush as he is a Thief Fighter, it is useful for killing weakened enemies on enemy phase or what have you. Finally, he has five movement stars which gives him a 25% chance to move again, which gives you a bit of leeway when making your moves, and allows him to steal again or get more chests. Pahn comes with a King Sword giving him Charisma which gives a bonus to nearby units. I'd give it to Leaf as he is present for all chapters and won't be doing much fighting anyhow, so he can function decently as a Charisma Bot. Have Pahn steal Tina's Thief Staff (the one with three uses) so she doesn't blow it on stealing all your stuff. Have Lara unlock the door. Once Pahn is recruited all enemy units, excluding Tina and the Dancer near Pahn, will try to leave the map. Trewd will also leave the map if you let him, you can Warp a unit nearby with Saphy to capture him before he does, or use Salem's Sleep Staff (Saphy can Repair it). After that, Capture Trewd and don't release him. He will join in the next chapter, an alternative to recruiting him with Pahn. After that you are free to loot all the chests, but if you want a low turn count just go for the chest outside near the Throne Room, that has a Knight's Proof. Recruit Tina with Saphy and Seize the Throne. Tina is inferior to other Staff users you have, but her two personal staves are great. The unlock staff allows you to unlock any door and any chest on the map, and the Thief Staff allows you to steal anything that weighs equal or lower than your MA. She is kind of situational though, but those Staves could prove fun. Also, she has the highest Movement growth in the game (5%). =) If you don't have access to Warp, you'd have to do this the annoying way. The only chest you can feasibly get is the chest outside, everything else will be looted by thieves. Tina will try to steal your weapons using her Thief staff, be sure to keep extra weapons, or just don't bring anything that is 2 weight or below. Trewd will come rushing, hopefully you can capture him before he gets himself killed. Make your way normally to the Throne, and recruit Pahn and Tina, and seize the Throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ R) Chapter 13: The Stronghold [WALK.13] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Knight's Proof (Lower-left Village) Hammer (Upper Village) Armorslayer (Southern village, to the right of the Knight's Proof village) New Characters: Trewd (Joins if you captured him in 12x. If Pahn spoke to him in 12x he will join then) Glade (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Trewd is another Swordfighter, but he isn't as good as Mareeta or Shiva due to his average stats. His joining stats aren't too hot, meaning you'd have to baby him for a while before he catches up. Nihil isn't a terribly useful skill, there are only a few units that Nihil would help against. I don't recommend him. Glade comes prepromoted but has crappy growth rates and average stats. He does come with a Leadership star though, he makes a good filler just for the extra 3% hit and dodge bonuses. There will be tons of reinforcements streaming out so I suggest against bringing slow units. You'd want to escape as soon as possible. Bring Selphina in this chapter, she has a special conversation with Glade. Other than that, you might want to bring Karin to get to the village with the Knight's Proof faster, just keep her out of range of the ballistae. I suggest you bring mounted units, foot units will have difficulty catching up. Move Selphina out of range of the Ballista at the hill, and kill it before proceeding. Have Glade's men trade all their items to Glade as they are crappy and don't join you anyway. They make nice disposable meatshields though. Have Glade stand where the red arrow is, but don't Escape. It gives him a bonus to Defense and Evasion. Bow Knight reinforcements will come out from the right side of the map, they aren't too threatening but keep an eye out for them. Try to shield Selphina and make your way towards the mansion. Karin, if you brought her can fly left, and be careful not to get sniped by Ballistae or accosted by enemies. Just make your way towards the castle, have Selphina speak to Glade to get the Brave Bow. Regroup, and escape through the red arrow. _____________________________________________________________________________ S) Chapter 14: Open Fire [WALK.14] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Survive for 10 turns Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Visit at least 3 houses, not counting the Dragon Lance house or the Rezire house Items Obtainable: Rezire (Visit southeastern village) Dragon Lance (Visit southwestern village with Dean) New Characters: Dean (Joins automatically) Eda (Joins automatically) Homer (Joins if Nanna enters the house next to the Arena) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A huge Survival Chapter. This is my favourite chapter in the game, mostly because it is really insane <3 You have to survive and keep the enemy from reaching the gate for twenty turns. Meanwhile, there are hordes of Armors swarming you, and Ballistae sniping you if you move into range. Ten armors spawn each turn, and in the later turns there are more surprises. =) If you want to get the Dragon Lance, bring Dancer Lara and Saphy or another staff user with an A-Rank in staves. Give him / her the Warp and Rescue staves. Dean and Eda join you from the start. Eda is an unpromoted Dragon Knight who joins at a very low level. Her stats are unspectacular and it is a royal pain to train her. She is definitely not recommended. At least she is better than Ronan =) Dean is a promoted Dragon Lord, he has great base stats and great growths. His personal weapon, the Dragon Lance, is a Brave Lance with higher attack power and Ambush. He can fly too, allowing him to reach hard-to-reach places without needing to use Karin. Dean is one of the best units in the game, even without the Dragon Lance he is a great unit. Definitely use him. For the first few turns, you should concentrate on getting to the houses before the reinforcements start to appear. Let Nanna visit the house next to the Arena to get Homer. Homer is a great unit, he starts out underlevelled but has Elite which allows him to gain levels incredibly fast. With a bit of work he can turn into a good unit. He is kind of frail though, but almost all mages are. Keep him out of the range of Ballistae and he should be fine. You will be sniped by the Ballistae while you're trying to reach the houses, don't worry too much about them. Dean and Eda should stay by the gate since they are very vulnerable to Ballistae. Once you've visited enough houses, quickly regroup around the gate. You should be just out of Ballista range so they won't snipe you, and you'll have an easier time defending against the enemies. Position Dean right next to your staff user, and make sure he still can act. Let your staff user Warp him to the red house by the Lake, let him enter for the Dragon Lance. Use Lara to Dance for the staff user, and use Rescue to bring him back. This is the easiest way to get the Dragon Lance, you can try to move your team down but it'd take a lot of luck to dodge the long-range Magic and the Ballistae. The Armors should be reaching you by now, block the three pathways leading to the gate. The boss should be drawing near, you can break out of formation to kill him. The Armors all have Hammers so Dalshein is useless against them. Put someone sturdy like Othin or Halvan there to block the passageways. Nanna's Charisma, a unit with the King Sword and supports should give your units a sizeable evasion boost, enough to withstand the armors. Dean can make his way to the Rezire house easily as there are fewer enemies there, but if you want to play it safe wait until the end of the chapter then Warp a unit over there to get Rezire. I recommend you get it, it'll help in training a unit in Chapter 14x. A group of NPC Dragon Knights will appear on turn 8, they won't be able to reach you if you stay close to the gate. Similarly, a group of Dark Mages will appear on turn 9, they can't reach you unless your team is near the town boundaries. You only need to survive for a turn after the Dark Mages come to win. Chapter 14 shouldn't be too hard if you keep inside the city and close to the gate so the ballistae can't get you. If you try to run out and accost the enemies, I wish you luck as it is near suicidal =) _____________________________________________________________________________ T) Chapter 14x: Freedom [WALK.14x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: S Drink (if a civillian escapes, up to a maximum of six can be gotten) Infinite Rewarp staves (Steal from Dark Mages or capture them) New Characters: Linoan (Joins automatically) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The goal of this chapter is to proceed to the red arrow at the top of the map while protecting civillians that are travelling with you. You might want to bring Mareeta next chapter, so avoid fielding her in this chapter. Linoan joins this chapter, and she is a great unit as she can use Staves right off the bat and can use the Rezire spell, which leeches HP from an enemy. Linoan is another staff user with nice stats and will prove to be quite useful. You may want to give her the Elite manual so she will level up faster. There are many Dark Mages that have Rewarp Staves, meaning they can warp themselves to anywhere on the map, but lose a turn in doing so. They will attempt to capture the civillians that are escaping. Pegasus Knights will swoop in and attempt to capture civillians. Try to get as many Rewarp Staves as you can, they can prove to be pretty useful. Give Linoan the Rezire spellbook or another spellbook, to prevent her from being captured and taken away. If Linoan is captured or dies, Dean leaves. When you're nearing the top of the map, be careful as there is a Dark Mage spamming Fenrir, a long range spell that does a lot of damage. Have some units with high evasion rush forward and kill him, and also kill the Hero Boss before he does too much damage. This chapter isn't too hard but it can be quite annoying at times. Dean should help a lot in killing Pegasus Knights, capturing Dark Mages and freeing civillians. Once you're done, let everyone escape. _____________________________________________________________________________ U) Chapter 15: The Two Paths [WALK.15] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape through the left and right arrows or visit the church with Leaf. Items Obtainable: Killer Lance (Left house in the cluster of houses) Skill Ring (Middle house in the cluster of houses) Armorslayer (Right hosue in the cluster of houses) Ulir Scroll (Village to the far left, near the escape arrow) Restore Staff (After you have visited the church with Leaf) New Characters: Ralph (Joins when Leaf speaks to him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A nice break from the previous chapters, this chapter isn't hard if you bring several fliers to drop your units over the mountain. Ralph and Amalda will appear as NPCs to fight the bandits. You can recruit Ralph by speaking to him with Leaf, but Amalda is unrecruitable at this point. Bring Mareeta with you this chapter. Have your fliers, Karin, Dean and Eda pick up Leaf, Mareeta and any other units and drop them over the mountains. You should try to go left and visit the village next to the left arrow, this will net you an Ulir Scroll. You have to be quick otherwise it will be destroyed. Ralph and Amalda should take care of the bandits, have your fliers deposit units near the town and fly downwards to visit the villages. You should be able to hold off the Brigands with Ralph and Amalda. Talk to Ralph with Leaf to recruit him. Ralph is an prepromote Hero, his stats are average at best and he isn't terribly useful. After a certain amount of turns, Amalda will attempt to leave the map. Push forward and kill the boss and all the other Brigands. On turn 11 a unit named Shanam will spawn from the forts. He will attempt to escape, and you can speak to him with Mareeta to have her learn Meteor Sword, which is five consecutive hits upon activation. This is kind of tricky, so try to surround the forts so that you can get Mareeta to speak to Shanam. Once that's over with, have Leaf make his way to the Church and enter it. You now have a choice of two routes, the A route, also known as the Solar Route, and the B Route also known as the Lunar Route. The A Route is the route I'd recommend. You get a few great characters going there, and although the route is harder it is much more rewarding. The B route gives you crappy characters and is annoying, but it is slightly easier. The A Route is the first option when you are talking to the Priest, the B route is the second option. I'd still have recommended the A route regardless since it is more manly 8D Charging straight into the Empire's stronghold? Yes please. _____________________________________________________________________________ V) Chapter 16A: Norden Line [WALK.16a] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Holy Water (Left Village) Armorslayer (Middle Village) Knight's Proof (Southeast village, to the south of the arena) Nihil Manual (Steal from Conomore) Sun Sword Manual (Steal from Eyrios) Bolting (Steal from Eyrios) New Characters: Eyrios (Joins when Karin speaks to him, and Olwen is either dead or not recruited. She cannot be captured for Eyrios to be recruited) Sleuf (Visit a certain village with Leaf, only if Leaf has visited the church in Chapter 15) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A huge map, but not very hard. Make sure that you have a Sleep Staff with at least one use, and a unit with at least a C in Staves to use it. You'll need it for the next chapter. You have the option of recruiting the Mage Knight Eyrios instead of keeping Olwen. Eyrios is a far superior unit in my opinion, he has better base stats for his level, and while he has the same growth rates as Olwen he comes with an A rank in Swords and Thunder Magic which is very useful. Eyrios also has Sunlight Hit which allows him to drain HP from enemies. Eyrios has a low PCC but this can be remedied by giving him Wrath. Eyrios is a good candidate for it due to his low PCC and his ability to counter at 1-2 range while using Magic. If you want to get Eyrios, just let Olwen get killed (not captured) by an enemy unit in this chapter. You can give her a Broken Sword or a tome low on uses so she won't get captured. Kempf is back, and he assigns a General to be in charge of the castle. Move along, beware of Ballistae and visit villages along the way. Eyrios' squad is on the big island with a single village, use a dodgy unit to lure his troops in and rush them. Once they're down have Karin swoop in to recruit Eyrios. He can use Bolting so be careful, Tron is also really nasty. Eyrios comes with great starting weapon ranks, 40 HP and a nice skill in Sun Sword. He is a candidate for the Wrath manual due to his low PCC, but 2 hits with Magic is killing most things anyway, so you might want to give it to another unit. Press forward, and watch out for the five (!!!) ballistae near the gate. Try to stay out of their range and kill them off as soon as possible. Lure the mounted troops in and kill them off before attempting to take down the Ballistae. Use a Thief to unlock the bridge, or a flyer (Karin) to ferry Leaf over to the small island. He can then visit it to recruit Sleuf. Sleuf is a great unit as he joins with A Rank staves. This alone beats out everyone in the other route IMO =) A Rank staves are amazingly useful and broken, even if he can't fight he is still worth using. After you've taken down the ballistae, it should be safe for your flyer to visit the southern village and get the Knight Crest. Conomore and his troops appear on turn 20 but they will retreat once they have suffered casualties. If you want you can nick the Nihil Manual from Conomore, but it isn't terribly useful so you'd be fine without it. It helps considerably against a specific boss, but isn't worth it otherwise. Once you've done everything, seize the gate. You can put a Social Knight to sleep and capture him to get a Sleep Sword, which might be useful in the next chapter. The Sleep Sword is much more situational so you should save the Sleep Staff for later. _____________________________________________________________________________ W) Chapter 17A: Lenster's Gate [WALK.17a] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Magic Ring (Western Village) Holy Water (Western Village, to the right of the first village) Warp Staff (Northern Village) Rescue Staff (Northern Village, to the south of the Warp Staff village) Warp Staff (Dark Mage Boss) New Characters: Sara (Joins when a unit visits the church) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, I hope you have a Sleep Staff and someone who can use it. Bring Karin as well. This chapter isn't extremely hard, it just looks that way. There are many reinforcements (we are attacking Lenster head on 8D) and a few unexpected events. Give a spellbook to Karin or Dean if you're using him, or god forbid Eda. There will be a troop of NPC Pegasus Knights led by Misha. To recruit Misha in the next chapter, you will have to speak to her with Karin, then put her to Sleep, Capture her and don't release her. It is easy to put her to Sleep with the Sleep Staff. There is a Dark Mage Boss at the cliffs with his troop of Dark Mages, with Fenrir, Yotsmung and a Warp Staff. Try to capture him with your flyers to get the Warp Staff before he busts it. The Dark Mages aren't too threatening anyhow, Yotsmung doesn't have a high chance of hitting. Make your way towards the forest to the north and send Karin and Dean up to deal with the Pegasus Knights and Dark Mages. Stay out of Misha's range, get Karin to speak to her and you're free to put her to Sleep. Again, it should be quite easy with the Sleep Staff. Once the Dark Mages are gone, visit the Church to get Sara. Have your flyer fly her down to the houses near the river, so she can get some EXP by taking down the pirates. Sara comes with a B rank in Staves and has crazy growths in Magic, Skill and Speed. She also comes with Elite making it easy for her to catch up to your other units. After promotion, she can use Warp and other nice staves with an A Rank in Staves, and she is the only person that can use a special staff that plays a crucial part in recruiting a certain character. She's definitely recommended. Pass the spellbook to Sara and let her deal with the Pirates. The rest of your troops should be making their way towards the Forest by now, visit the two villages for a Warp and Rescue Staff. Stay inside the Forest for a while, as there is a nasty wave of reinforcements coming up soon and you can't afford to risk going into Ballistae / Long Range Magic range. On turn 10 Cyas will come, and notice how the music changes. =) Cyas is a High Priest with 10 Leadership Stars, giving a bonus of 30% to hit and evasion for his troops. Meaning the Ballistae and Long Range Magic users will become much more accurate, and you can't really rush the castle with him on the field. The Armor Knights will be deployed and will start moving towards your troops. Stay in the Forest, by the time they reach you Cyas will have left. On Turn 11 Dark Mages will spawn and they will Rewarp themselves right into your troops. They're not very threatening, they don't recieve Cyas' Leadership bonuses and they waste a turn Rewarping. On turn 12 Reinhardt's Mage Knights will spawn. Thankfully they don't recieve Cyas' Leadership bonuses, but they are still very threatening with Tron hurting a lot. Utilise the strategies for Chapter 14, stack units with Charisma and make use of supports to survive this massive wave of enemies. Cyas will leave on turn 15, only a few Armors should have reached your troops by then. Once you have dealt with the rushing enemies, push forward towards the castle. There are long range magic users and Ballistae, so you might want to sap their uses with Leaf. Move forward, unlock the door, kill the boss and seize the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ X) Chapter 16B: The Dark Forest [WALK.16b] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Pugi Axe (Capture enemy Berserker) Moonlight Sword Manual (Steal from enemy Swordmaster) New Characters: Sara (Joins when Leaf speaks to her) Shanam (Joins when Homer speaks to him) Miranda (Joins when Leaf stands on the castle gate for one turn) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bring a Restore Staff for this chapter, as the Boss comes with a Berserk Staff. There are certain tiles, when stepped on will warp you to another location. I can't really describe where there are located, there is a nice map showing where they are on ChinaFE, in their Thracia 776 walkthrough. Sara will leave the castle on turn two and step on a Warp tile. Let Leaf get close to her and recruit her as soon as you can. Shanam is near the top of the map, at the northwest corner. Have Homer recruit him. You might want to capture the Hero with a Sleep Sword, it might prove useful in the next chapter. Sara is a great unit with crazy Magic, Skill and Speed growths, and comes with a B rank in Staves allowing her to use A Rank staves after promotion, which makes her a great unit. She also has Elite so she doesn't have much catching up to do. Shanam is a horrible combat unit but has a unique skill in Bargain which saves you quite some money if you want to buy stuff from shops. Otherwise he is useless. His Balmung Shield helps though =) There are assorted goodies that the enemies hold, so try to nick them off them. Kill the boss as soon as possible to stop him from spamming Berserk. Have Leaf stand on the castle gate once you have killed the boss. Miranda will appear and join your party. Miranda has Wrath, but she comes underlevelled with average stats at best. She isn't worth using, especially when you've already got several great mages in Linoan, Asvel and Sara. Her growths are good but she can't attack stuff without getting killed back most of the time. Have your troops escape the map, you might want to stop by the southeast part of the map to capture the Berserker for another Pugi Axe. _____________________________________________________________________________ Y) Chapter 17B: The First Rain of May [WALK.17b] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Blaggi Scroll (Steal from Amalda) Knight Proof (If all Lenster Soldiers survived) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another Ballista chapter. If you have 20,000 G or higher, you can visit the village on the cliff with your flier and pay 20,000 G to open the main gates giving you an easier time. You shouldn't have that much gold at this point in time, and I don't think it's worth it. Visiting the villages to the south with Leaf will give you an option to let the Lenster soldiers help out or go up the cliffs on your own. The Lenster Soldiers will be Ballista bait, allowing your units to traverse the cliffs without fear of being sniped by Ballistae. If they all survive (unlikely) or if you refuse their help, you'll recieve a Knight's Proof. Once you go near the gate, Amalda will start rushing towards you. Either use a Thief with 15 or more speed to steal the Blaggi Scroll, or put her to Sleep with a Sleep Sword or a Sleep Staff so you can capture her and take her stuff. The boss shouldn't be too threatening, clean up and seize the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ Z) Chapter 18: The Liberation of Lenster [WALK.18] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Noba Scroll (Upper-left chest) Body Ring (Right Chest) Door Key (Southern Chest) SIlver Sword (Southern Chest) Continue Manual (Steal from Gustav) Member Card (End of chapter, if all Lenster soldiers survived) New Characters: Xavier (Let all the eight civillians talk with the respective Armors, then talk to Xavier with Leaf) Misha (Joins automatically if you talked to her with Karin, Captured her but didn't release her in 17A) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First off, it is near impossible to get the Member Card and recruit Xavier at the same time. Just recruit Xavier, don't get the Member Card as it is highly situational - the secret shops don't sell many useful items. Misha will join you in this chapter assuming you fulfilled the conditions in 17A, she has okay base stats and good growths, and starts off at a low level. However, Misha has problems doing damage earlier on due to her low Strength, she needs a fair bit of babying before she can get up to par. Furthermore there are far better fliers than her at this point, and there aren't many other maps where fliers will be useful. To get Xavier, you'd need to pull off a somewhat tricky maneuvre. The easiest way to distract the Armors at the center of the map is to place an unarmed unit with high Build in their midst - they can't capture the unit so they'll just attack him over and over again. Give said unit a Vulneary or two so he doesn't get killed. Have the group on the left rush to get the Noba Scroll at the chest up top, while your Warp Staff user Warps said unit into the middle of the room to distract the Armor. You might notice a few Freege armors, they will attack the civillians so be careful not to let the civillians into their range. Unlock the jail cell and place a unit on the stairs so reinforcements do not spawn. You can kill them with Long Range Magic, Fenrir (if you abused Salem's Dark Magic Rank), Meteor, Bolting and Blizzard. Eyrios is likely the only person who can use such spells at this point, so use him to get rid of the Freege Armors. The quickest way to get the civillians to the Armors is to Rescue them and then drop them. You can pass them around from unit to unit making it easier for them to get to the Lenster armors. The Lenster Armors will never attack the civillians, they will block their path at most. With a bit of luck you can hopefully initiate all the conversations and recruit Xavier. Another thing to note, the only thing that matters is that the civillians speak to the Lenster Armors, their survival is irrelevant. Xavier is a good unit. He comes with Wrath, Duel and Great Shield, and good Defense. He has the worst speed in the game for his level, and he's likely to get doubled by just about anything. His high Defence saves him, as does Wrath, but Hammers and Armorslayers hurt a lot. Xavier can perform well due to his high starting weapon ranks, but his Move is bad and he may not be able to catch up. His high attack with the Brave Bow and Axes help remedy that to an extent. Once you're done, kill Gustav and seize the Throne. To get the Member Card, the easiest way is to warp a unit in to kill Gustav and then Warp Leaf in to seize the throne immediately after. Leaf will promote to Prince after this chapter. _____________________________________________________________________________ AA) Chapter 19: Remorse and Retaliation [WALK.19] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Medicine (Northwest Village) Restore Staff (Northeast Village) Wind Tome (Northeast Village) Silver Sword (West Village) Killer Lance (West Village) Speed Ring (Southwest Village) Restore Staff (Southwest Village) M Up (Southwest Village) Knight's Proof (End of Chapter if all civillians escaped) New Characters: Amalda (Joins when Sleuf speaks to her) Conomore (Joins when Miranda speaks to him) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Half your troops start off at the bottom of the map being pursued by Amalda and Conomore's troops. Half your troops are at the castle to help them get back. First off, you need to manipulate the unit positions a bit by not fielding specific units. You need to have Sleuf or Miranda start off in the bottom group, to recruit Amalda or Conomore without wasting a Warp / Rescue staff. To recruit either of them, have a sturdy unit that doesn't do much damage stand just in either of their ranges. With a bit of luck that unit should survive the onslaught and with a bit of moving around and killing, you should be able to recruit Conomore / Amalda. Once recruited their troops turn into NPCs so they should be nice to act as fodder for the enemies while you escape. Amalda is a mounted healer with pretty good growths, sadly she comes a bit late so she is unable to utilise those growths and gain more stats. Her base stats aren't good and she'll have problems dealing damage, but another mounted healer is nice, and she comes with a leadership star too which doesn't hurt. Conomore is basically Amalda minus Staves and a bit better at combat. Problem is a lot of units are better than he is at this point, and it is a waste of time to train him when you could get better results using another person. Rescue Miranda / Sleuf with a mounted unit and run back to the castle as fast as you can while the units are distracted. You can get the two villages near the castle quite easily with a Flyer, but I don't think going for the other villages is a good idea. Escape as fast as you can, you may want to leave a useless unit like Ronan there, by not letting him escape before Leaf. This is to get Chapter 21x which requires at least one unit to be captured or left behind. _____________________________________________________________________________ AB) Chapter 20: Child of Light [WALK.20] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Survive for 15 turns AND kill the boss Items Obtainable: Killing Edge (Steal from Armors in the jail cell) Knight's Proof (Chest) Silence Staff (Village) Unlock Staff (Reinforcement Bishops) Tordo Scroll (Steal from boss) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a defense chapter where you have tof fulfill two conditions - - Survive for at least 15 turns - Kill the Boss If you don't kill the boss, even if you lasted 15 turns the chapter will not end. The same goes for the other condition. This chapter isn't particularly hard, your characters should be able to handle the Armors without too much trouble. There are Ballista reinforcements and long-range Magic users, so it may be easier to kill the boss first and then retreat into the castle. The Freege Armors will tear down the walls, and later on the 2 Bishops coming as reinforcements will use their Unlock Staves to Unlock doors in the map, freeing the Freege Armors in the Dungeon and stealing the Knight's Proof. Send your Thieves to unlock doors, namely the door that leads to the outside of the castle (for the Silence Staff) and the door leading to the chest room so you can get the Knight's Proof. The other doors leading outside aren't that important, the Freege Armors will tear down the walls and some of them have Door Keys to unlock the doors, so they will come to you sooner or later. You might want to send a unit up to deal with the Freege Armors, otherwise this chapter isn't really hard, the only hard parts are the Ballistae, the Armors aren't as threatening as in Chapter 14 as your stats should be higher. It might be a bit tricky trying to steal the Tordo Scroll with your Thief, I suggest killing off all the Ballistae before you attempt it. You also might want to kill off the boss immediately after stealing, otherwise your Thief will eat a nasty Master Axe hit to the face. Here is a rough list of when the reinforcements appear, taken from Serene's Forest - Turn 3 - 13 Lance Armors, 2 Bishops, 4 Priests Turn 5 - 13 Mages Turn 7 - 4 Long Arches Turn 10 - 2 Iron Arches Turns 12 to 15 - 13 Axe Armors Turns 12 and 15 - 4 Mages with Meteor _____________________________________________________________________________ AC) Chapter 21: The Liberation Wars [WALK.21] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: At least one of your units must be captured and taken away by the enemy, or left behind on an escape mission Items Obtainable: Holy Water (Left village) Holy Water (Church, if someone other than Linoan visits it) Silver Sword (Bottom Village) New Characters: Delmud (Joins automatically if Nanna is alive and present in your army) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Delmud joins if Nanna is alive. He joins with the Beo Sword, a great weapon that has good attack power, an innate 30% chance to critical and provides Ambush and Wrath. They don't work together unfortunately, Wrath only triggers if an enemy attacks you first on that round. Delmud also has 5 PCC and Charisma, despite his passable base stats he is still a great unit to use. Fergus can use the Beo Sword as well, but it's better on Delmud as he needs the power more. Bring Linoan in this chapter if you want to promote her. She can promote if she visits the church on the east end of the map. To get Chapter 21x, you have to let a unit be captured and taken away in this chapter. If a unit is already captured or has been left behind on an Escape map, you don't need to do this. Bring Restore staves. The boss has Blizzard which puts a unit to sleep from range, and there are many Ballistae. It might be more convienient to Warp Linoan to the church instead of splitting your troops to reach it, but it's up to you. Beware of the Dragon Knights at the southern part of the map. They have Horseslayers so try not to let mounted units into their range. Reinforcements will stream out from the two forts, but they aren't very threatening. Mounted units will stream out from the left of the map, be careful as they can be quite threatening. Dark Mage reinforcements with Rewarp will come after the mounted units have stopped appearing, they aren't very threatening as always. Pray you don't get hit by the Ballistae and Blizzard, and you should reach the throne and seize it before the mounted units cause too much damage. _____________________________________________________________________________ AD) Chapter 21x: The Detention Center [WALK.21x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Medicine (Chest in the middle hallways) Knight's Proof (Chest near the boss) Warp Staff (On the boss, enemy Bishops and Priests, 6 in total) Bolting (Chest near the boss) Unlock (Chest near the boss) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The goal of this chapter is to rescue the units that have been captured, who are locked up in their cells, and escape through the red arrows. The boss and the two Bishops near him spam Long-Range Magic, so be careful. The main reason why you'd want to get to this chapter is the six Warp Staves. The enemy units will use them to Warp units right into your army, but you can Silence them to prevent them from doing so. Try to get as many Warp Staves as you can, let your Thief steal some from the Boss or the Bishops. The rest of the chapter is pretty straightforward, get the chests if you can. Don't take too long though, there are numerous reinforcements and on turn 30 the Schwarze Rosen, a troop of Dark Mages will arrive. 10 of them, all packing Fenrir, which you'd want to avoid at all costs. _____________________________________________________________________________ AE) Chapter 22: Across The River [WALK.22] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize the Throne Items Obtainable: Holy Water (Village just below starting position) Warp Staff (Southwestern Village) Rescue Staff (Southeastern Village) New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pretty epic chapter. Expect to bust your Rewarp staves unless you make Cyas leave early. Cyas is present on turn one, giving 10 Leadership Stars to his troops (but not to Reinhardt or his Mage Knights). Cyas and the boss will fire off their status staves, meaning that you'd have to use six uses of Restore staves to counter it. Moving from your starting position is suicidal as reinforcements will swarm you and cause massive damage because of Cyas' Leadership Bonuses. The 30% to hit and evade really adds up to a lot. Cyas will leave after about fourty turns (I can't remember whether it is fourty on the dot or some other number). You can then rush towards the Throne without having to worry too much about the enemies. The Bridge will close after any one of your units has walked over it, so try to get all of them over in one go. Reinhardt's Mage Knights will start moving. Reinhardt is a very threatening foe, the most challenging boss in Thracia 776, up there with the likes of Gomez. He has Ambush, Big Shield, Continue and Charge, meaning he is likely to get off two hits of Daim Thunder and possibly more. This is where a unit with Nihil will come in useful, it'll negate those skills allowing you to attack first and kill him off. An easier way to kill him is to use a Silence or a Sleep Staff. His Magic is 20 so you'd have to use a Holy Water or an M Up Staff for it to be effective. Sleep makes him completely useless so you can take his stuff, Silence stops him from using Daim Thunder but he can still use his Master Sword. You can speak to him with Olwen to get the Holy Sword, a pretty nifty sword allowing two consecutive hits, and giving her 10 more Magic and the Prayer Skill. It is Olwen only unfortunately. Once you've killed Reinhardt, run up and seize the throne after killing the boss. As you'd expect, there is a far easier way to do this chapter but it requires the Warp Staff. You can Warp a unit next to the boss, kill him and get Leaf to seize the Throne, but you'd miss out on several items you can get from the villages as well as some EXP. Another way is to Warp a unit near the boss and use Rescue on him to bring him back. This will make Cyas leave so you don't have to contend with his Sleep staff. You can do this with Olwen to get the Holy Sword as well. The shop here sells Knight Proofs, but they cost a bomb and you might not be able to afford it. The shops here have some nifty stuff so you might want to stop by and buy them. _____________________________________________________________________________ AF) Chapter 23: The Palace of Evil [WALK.23] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: Recover (??) Staff (Northeastern Village) Medicine (Northeastern Village) Holy Water (Northeastern Village) Blaggi Sword (Have Leaf talk to Cyas) New Characters: Sety (Joins when Leaf speaks to him) Cyas (Joins at the end of the chapter if you did not recruit Sety) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This isn't a very hard chapter, but the Rewarping Dark Mages and the ones with Sleep Staves can prove annoying. There are also two Ballistae here, so watch out for them. Have Cyas run out of the Ballista range and Silence one of the Dark Mages. Use a Silence of your own on the other to keep them from spamming Sleep. Cyas is very frail so you'd be forced to make him retreat. The enemies around here can kill him easily. He has five Leadership Stars instead of his usual ten, and the leadership bonuses only apply to himself. Push forward with your units, you might want to send a unit to the villages on the east for items but they aren't very important. On Turn Two a troop of Dragon Knights will appear to the east. They won't attack you yet. You can't kill Altenna, so don't bother trying. On turn 3 mounted reinforcements will start to come out of the forts around the castle, and Dark Mages will randomly appear at specific spots. You might want to place some units on those spots to keep them from spawning so they don't kill or capture your units. Once Cyas meets Leaf, have Leaf talk to him to get the Blaggi Sword. This sword is the only weapon that can bypass the Half Damage effect granted by the Lopto Sword, and hits for three times as much damage as well. Give it to Leaf, the other possible wielders of the Sword (Fergus, Delmud, Nanna) can't do much in the chapters to come. The boss should have got his Poison Spell back, be careful as it is a souped-up Fenrir, and deals heavy damage. Press onward, capture the Silenced Dark Mages for their Sleep Staves. When a unit approaches the Throne Sety will come out and slaughter the Boss with Holsety. Have Leaf speak to Sety to recruit him. You can choose not to if you want to keep Cyas, but Sety is a much superior unit. Sety comes with A Staves and one Leadership star. He also has Holsety, which grants a bonus of 20 to Speed and Skill, and has very high damage to boot. Sety has great growths, so if he ever gains a level he'd have a high chance of gaining stats. I don't think anything can reliably kill Sety, besides the Leidrick or something. Simply put, Sety is a god. Don't recruit him, and you're either masochistic or crazy. Or both. The Dragon Knights will charge when Sety kills the boss, but Altenna will remain there. They aren't very threatening as they'd spend most of their time trying to capture the children, which wastes a turn and reduces their stats. Once you've done everything, seize the throne. _____________________________________________________________________________ AG) Chapter 24: The Baron in Black [WALK.24] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Conditions For Gaiden Chapter: Obtain the Kia Staff. Sara must be alive and must not be captured. Items Obtainable: Kia Staff (Upper Chest Room) New Characters: Galzus (Speak to him with Mareeta) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This Chapter is a royal pain, but 24x is worse =) First off, there are many Dark Mages spamming status staves, so you should use some status staves of your own. There is a Dark Mage with the Restore staff, so he should be first priority to Silence / Sleep. Galzus can be recruited in this chapter with Mareeta. Either have her in the middle group, or Warp her directly to Galzus. If her stats are high enough, she can survive the attacks of the Heroes. Just remember to kill the Snipers with Galzus. Galzus has five movement stars, great stats and Moonlight Sword and Meteor Sword. He is practically invincible, if not for status staves =( Still, he is a great unit to have. Try to have the right group get to the Dark Mages as fast as possible and nick their status staves. The left group should kill off the Dark Mages and prevent them from capturing the children. Only one specific child can open the upper chest room which has the Kia staff. The child is random;u selected, but it must be a boy. Use a Rescue chain to get the boys to the Kia Staff room quickly, and pray that they open the door once they're dropped. Dark Mage reinforcements will appear in the chest room, so once you've got the Kia staff you might want to bail out as quickly as possible. Leidrick is easy to deal with. Use Leaf with the Blaggi Sword to kill him off easily, alternatively you can use Galzus or Sety. Once you've got everything you need (Restore staves are very important next chapter), you can seize the throne. There is a secret shop here, to the northeast of the map. There should be a lone door there, warp a unit with the Member Card there, open the door and stand on the space where the door was to access it. It only sells stat-up items, so I don't think its worth it to get the Member Card in Chapter 18. Note: You might not want to go to Chapter 24x. It is very annoying with many status staff users that always hit. You can also save yourself some time by not getting the Kia staff, but it's your choice. 24x is the hardest chapter in the game, if only for how cheap it is. _____________________________________________________________________________ AH) Chapter 24x: The Altar of Lopto [WALK.24x] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Escape Items Obtainable: Shield Ring (Chest) Power Ring (Chest) Knight's Proof (Chest) (Note: All the Chests are in the lower-left chest room which is slightly above the left starting position) New Characters: Eyvel (Joins if Sara uses the Kia staff on her, and Leaf speaks to her) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to hell. There are many statuses flying about, make sure to bring Restore staves. Sara and her Kia staff will be crucial to recruit Eyvel. Bring Warp and Rescue staves, and you may want to bring Rewarp staves as well. To make this chapter easier, you can warp one or two units to the area around the red arrow, specifically the space below it. There is a boss there with a status staff, as well as many status staff users, so it will be in your best interests to kill them quickly. Sety with Holsety will decimate everything there. There are several warp tiles that will Warp a unit to the room in the south where he has to face never-ending reinforcements (evil IS D=). The Warp Tiles are at the hallway on the top of the map, specifically on the first tiles of it. A Rescue staff will come in handy if you accidentally step on them, or if I got their locations wrong =) Eyvel is at the top of the map, unlock the door and have Leaf speak to her immediately. Then, push downwards towards the red arrow, ascend the stairs and unlock the door. Eyvel is way past her prime. Her stats are bad at this point in the game, and she isn't worth it. _____________________________________________________________________________ AI) Final Chapter: An Undying Oath [WALK.FIN] _____________________________________________________________________________ Conditions For Winning: Seize Throne Items Obtainable: None New Characters: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the Final Chapter, and you have to kill eight bosses to unlock the chamber with Berdo, and you have to kill him and seize the Throne. Bring your absolute best units. Use mainly foot units as mounted units will suffer a significant reduction in stats once dismounted. Door Keys would be nice, otherwise you can use Tina's Unlock Staff. Don't take too much time to open the doors and kill the bosses, reinforcements will appear after the third turn. Once you've opened the doors, your first priority would be to kill the Fenrir-wielding Dark Bishops, then the Dark Warriors, Eins, Elf, Zwei, Zwolf, Funf and Dwei. Eins is just another Leidrick, Leaf with the Blaggi Sword would kill him easily. You should kill him first, as he has Leadership stars that make the other enemies harder to kill. The only other warrior to note is Elf, which has a Berserk Staff. Kill her off quickly, beware as she has Rezire which will hurt a lot as well as drain your HP. You might want to use Galzus to kill her off quickly. Once you've killed the bosses, have a unit stand at the center of each pedestal. You might want to wait until your units have regrouped, and you have taken care of the Berserkers with your units, or if your Warp Staff users are in position. Once you've stepped on the center of the pedestals, the throne room will open up next turn. Berdo is very underwhelming, try to kill him in one turn to stop him from Stoning your units. Berdo has crappy AS due to Yotsmung and Fenrir weighing him down, and just about any unit with decent stats can take him. He has the Life Skill, and several Dark Mages surrounding him, so don't take too much time. You can warp Sety into the room and demolish him if Continue activates or if he gets a lucky critical. Once you're done, have Leaf seize the Throne. Congratulations, you have beat Fire Emblem: Thracia 776! Now aim for SSS rank =) Alternative strategy: Bring a few units capable of surviving / dodging Fenrirs, and Warp Sety to each of the rooms to clear out the Dark Warlords. This is much more time consuming but it is a safer strategy. Sety can also make use of Rewarp to move from room to room, you should have a few from 14x. You will have to kill Elf ASAP as she has a Berserk Staff, luckily Galzus starts right next to the room making it a cinch to kill her (assuming he hits of course, if he doesn't he will get smashed by Wrath). o====================================================================[CHAR]=o | IV. Once he reaches level 20 he is a liability and generally not useful as a combat unit due to his low stats. Leaf however Supports a great number of people, giving them a 10% bonus to Hit and Avoid, and he has the Light Sword which helps a lot in earlier chapters and acts as a Vulneary to boot. Leaf is most effective at using the Blaggi Sword which helps in Chapter 24 and the Final Chapter. Leaf also doesn't have fatigue making him a great choice to absorb Ballistae hits and long-range magic without getting fatigued. Leaf's stats are mediocre but he is pretty useful otherwise. He should be the best candidate for scrolls and skill manuals since he has to be fielded in every chapter. ______________________________________________________________________________ 2. Unlike Eyvel, he can be fielded in later chapters so he can be useful for weakening stuff and killing in later chapters, but isn't too good at that. His base stats are good enough to last him for a sizeable portion of the game, so I guess he can be useful but you're probably better off fielding another unit. ______________________________________________________________________________ 7. Tanya cannot Capture enemy units, she cannot counter on enemy phase and the only damage she'll do is on Player Phase, where she'd kill a maximum of two enemies. You'd have to constantly shield her, although you can force the enemy to attack her at range, those situations are quite rare, and you'd be better off putting a Magic user or a unit with a ranged weapon anyway. She also has problems dealing damage with passable Strength and low PCC. I'd use a bow user if they came with the Ichival or something, but Tanya doesn't unfortunately =( ______________________________________________________________________________ 8. Marty is a complete joke statwise, with his only good stats being HP and Build. I don't know, so that he won't lose AS from Hammers? Oh wait, every enemy doubles him already with or without AS loss =( His promotion gains are huge and sort of remedy the fact that he has near 0% growths in crucial stats, but then again I don't see why you should use him at all. Thankfully most enemies don't kill her but capture her, taking all her stuff. Of course its easier to capture said enemy and take it back since their stats are halved, but in the case of mounted units it is hard to do so, and you shouldn't leave Saphy in the range of any enemy. Saphy gets a decent rank in Staves, which helps massively. She is the only person in your army who can use Warp Staves in a reasonable timeframe, and she can help make chapters much much easier with it. Infinite range and infinite duration status staves also help a lot, especially in the later chapters. Repair Staff is great for repairing Warp Staves, Light Swords, Pugi Axes, you name it. Basically, great utility but non-existent combat. ______________________________________________________________________________ 11. He is still a Thief though, and can steal stuff and pick locks which is extremely useful. You get all kinds of nice goodies from Treasure Chests, and without Lifis you would have to blow all your money on Door Keys instead of just using Lockpicks. Lifis can steal a lot of stuff, including Tomes, lightweight weapons (Rapier, Slim Sword), Scrolls, Vulnearies and the like. His Build isn't high though, so he can't steal much. Unless you severely RNG abused him he can't steal most weapons off enemies. The stuff he can steal is still very nifty and helps a lot, supplying your Mages with spells to use, more weapons to save more money and more Vulnearies. ______________________________________________________________________________ 12. His stats aren't anything spectacular, and they are mostly skewed to Defense. However, he does have Wrath which redeems him, he will do loads of damage on enemy phase with an Axe crit, even though he has hit issues. A horse doesn't hurt as well, Brighton can utilise his high move to get to spots before foot units like Othin and fend off the enemy. He is capable of taking quite a few hits and striking back hard. If he didn't have Wrath, he'd be a sucky unit but since he has it, he's definitely recommended. ______________________________________________________________________________ 14. However, this matters little as the Dancer promotion "gains" would offset the Rogue gains, and turning her into a Rogue after a Dancer would still retain her nice Dancer promotion "gains". Her stats are crap too, you'd basically need loads of scroll abuse just to get her up to par. However, Lara is good for utility. Before 12x she can pick locks, but can't steal stuff outside of Slim Swords and other things that weigh less than 3, unlike Lifis. In 12x she can promote to become a Dancer, a unique class that can refresh other units, giving you 2x the staffage, another time to attack and all that good stuff. However, her avoid as a Dancer is kind of shaky starting off, and she will be Ballista fodder. She can't train herself easily to get those Speed and Luck stats rolling, and she'd be fatigued easily. She is situational as a Dancer, but worth the unit slot. Don't bring her on any map with Ballistae or Long Range Magic otherwise she'd be turned into Swiss Cheese. ______________________________________________________________________________ 15. He also comes with a nice C Rank in Swords, with a bit of Weapon EXP gained already, so he can get to a B Rank easily and use the Fire Sword to take down Armors. Fergus also has a Horse, giving him the mobility needed to traverse outdoor chapters, where he shines most. He can one-round a lot of stuff easily, but he can only attack from one range most of the time and has average durability. Nonetheless, he is still a great character, and should be fielded. ______________________________________________________________________________ 16. She has major offense problems, firstly she can't use Lances without AS loss, switching to Swords would effectively nerf her damage and her stats to hell. However, she does have crazy Speed and Luck growths, enough to ensure that she has great avoid. She is useful for visiting far-off villages and ferrying other units, however her Build is low meaning that her movement will get cut into half. Ballistae rip her a new one. There are a lot of Ballistae in Thracia 776 basically spelling death for Karin. She can dismount but her stats would be reduced and the Ballista would do a lot of damage to her anyway. She is almost completely outclassed by Dean when you get him, she only wins in Magic which isn't a huge advantage, not with 15% growths. She's good for Flyer utility, visiting villages and the like, and maybe supporting with Fergus, but that's about it. ______________________________________________________________________________ 17. Dalshien's base defence is awesome, his hit issues can be fixed by bringing an Iron Axe or the Brave Axe to the Dungeon, and he can kill enemies reliably with either of them. It is only when you start going outdoors that his Move becomes a problem. Indoors it doesn't matter much since most of the mounted units have the same Move, and the foot units only have about a 1 or 2 move advantage. However, in outdoor maps he simply cannot catch up to the army. In Indoor maps it isn't as big a problem as it was outdoors, but you'd be fielding mostly foot units here, and again Dalshein's low Move hurts him. Dalshein also cannot double for nuts, and most likely will get doubled himself. Moreover, Hammers and Armorslayers are common, as well as Mages, so Dalshein cannot function very well despite his tanky stats. ______________________________________________________________________________ 18. Asvel uses Magic, hitting on the lower of most enemies' defenses, and he has great Skill and Speed growths. Even better, his promotion bonuses are so huge, you can promote him early and it wouldn't matter much. Asvel's personal tome is Grafcalibur, which he can use without too much AS loss, has a high might and a high critical rate to boot. This is very useful in killing bosses, especially guys with high Defence like Gomez. It hits Flyers for three times the damage, but he'd slaughter then with a normal tome just as well. Asvel should be promoted early, he gains a D in Staves which helps a lot allowing him to act as another healer. Asvel also can use Staves until he gets a C in them, letting him use the Sleep Staff and other nifty staves. He has durability issues but that is offset by high dodge and ability to attack from range, as well as killing most enemies in one round. Asvel is definitely one of the best units in the game. ______________________________________________________________________________ 19. However, she can use Staves and has Charisma, and can use the Earth Sword. Nanna is your first, and maybe only mounted healer in this game, and she can keep up with mounted units outdoors and heal as necessary. She also can rush in to heal and rush out right after, giving her an advantage over other healers such as Saphy. She has passable durability meaning that she gets two-rounded at most, the Earth Sword will help heal her HP back since it casts Rezire. Nanna has Charisma, a great skill that gives units in range a 10% bonus to hit and evasion. This 10% bonus is crucial and helps a lot when many enemies are rushing you, like in Chapter 14. Nanna is purely a Charisma and Heal bot though, her Staff rank is not going anywhere soon and her stats are subpar, she isn't a good combat unit. But those are quite useful and she's worth fielding. ______________________________________________________________________________ 20. Brighton has the clear advantage as he has Wrath, but Hicks has higher stats and can surpass Brighton statistically. Unfortunately, Hicks is quite slow, with a 5 Speed base and a 30% growth, he won't be doubling much. Hicks is quite good as a tank though, nice HP and Def ensure that he can take quite a few hits, and his Strength and Skill will ensure that he does good damage. Sadly, his PCC is only 2, so he won't be criticalling as much and miss out on kills due to Axes' low hit rate and PCC not activating. Hicks is nice and all but I think that he is quite inferior compared to many other units. ______________________________________________________________________________ 21. His low Strength base isn't as much of an issue as Shiva has a respectable growth in Strength and crits like mad. Furthermore, Shiva has Sun Sword, which activates often due to his high skill and allows him to drain HP, making him a bit more durable on a whole. Shiva doesn't have much problems with durability, he has a good HP growth and Sun Sword, allowing him to take a few hits and keep on going. Carrion needs a bit of babying in the first few chapters after he joins, but after that he is a solid unit that is worth using. He also can get the Elite Sword, which helps him to catch up with your other units and you can pass it on to someone else later. ______________________________________________________________________________ 23. She has decent growths in Speed, Skill and Luck, but not in the areas she needs most, HP, Strength and Defence. Selphina also has problems dealing damage and can't counter on enemy phase. Charge certainly helps Selphina offensively, it allows her to shoot four times against an enemy with only one range and inferior AS and HP. However, her HP is pretty low, although it might stop Charge from hurting her Defense (less 2x Ballistae shots and stuff), it doesn't do her too many favours against enemies. Selphina can get the Brave Bow in Chapter 10 from Glade, and she is practically the only one that can use it at that point in time (unless you trained Tanya or god forbid Ronan). Selphina can attack a whopping 8 times with the Brave Bow, however her Strength once again isn't doing her any favours, and her Build means that she'll lose AS from it. Fun thing to note, Robert joins with more or less the same bases, bar a few stats being lower but has much higher growth rates. That should say something about Selphina's usefulness. ______________________________________________________________________________ 24. He has good stat growths, but 1 PCC ruins all that, especially when Kein can't kill stuff as well as Fin as he doesn't have the Brave Lance. Furthermore, Kein comes underlevelled and becomes bothersome to train. Compared to Carrion he can't get many kills because his PCC is low, and isn't very useful because of that. Fun fact: Kein doesn't have a single line in the game. ______________________________________________________________________________ 25. His stat growths are decent and he can become a good unit with a bit of favouritism, but somehow is locked to Bows. Being locked to bows is kind of bad because you lose enemy phase most of the time and you can't really kill much in Player Phase. It's going to take quite a lot of grinding to use the Brave Bow, but with it he becomes awesome in Player Phase (anyone that uses it gets awesome heh) Like Kein and Alba, he doesn't speak a single line throughout the game. ______________________________________________________________________________ 27. Fred isn't worth using. ______________________________________________________________________________ 28. It hits twice, has high might and has a nice 10% crit. However, it weighs Olwen down considerably. Olwen will have Fatigue problems and her Defence isn't exactly spectacular. Enemies will double her if she has Daim Thunder equipped, so giving her Ambush will make her much more effective. Olwen also is promoted, which makes her gain less EXP and not level as much as your other characters at that point in the game. She has AS issues because of her average base speed, 10, unlike Asvel who has much more speed. Still, she is quite a good unit but I'd take Eyrios over her. ______________________________________________________________________________ 29. Even when she starts out with a piddly 3 Strength her special sword will tide her over, and when her 60% strength growth starts picking up she's going to be one-rounding everything she comes across. I'm not exaggerating. Couple that with awesome growths in Skill, Speed and Luck, she is going to dodge a lot of hits and critical back. However, Mareeta has durability issues, meaning that she is going to get killed quite easily even when she is killing everything. The Sun Sword manual might be nice on her, however it isn't really reliable and she doesn't have as good HP and Defence as Shiva does. She's good at killing and all but you'd need to be careful not to get swarmed by enemies. ______________________________________________________________________________ 30. Yotsmung and Fenrir weigh so much he'd get doubled by a lot of enemies. His speed isn't spectacular meaning he'd have AS problems for a while. Yotsmung's high might is nice and all but it doesn't reliably KO enemies with its okay hit rate and just above average power. Salem starts off with a C in Staves, pretty much making him a good unit to use. Salem can get to A Rank staves pretty easily by getting the EXP needed to get to B Rank and promote, allowing him to use all that Warp / Sleep / Silence goodness. Salem is good for staff-spamming, but don't count on him being useful at anything else. ______________________________________________________________________________ 31. Unless you heavily RNG-abused their Build, Pahn comes with more Build and doesn't require a Knight's Proof to promote. Pahn pretty much steals the same things Lifis does, but he can steal high-level staves with just one or two Build level ups. Furhtermore Pahn is a decent combat unit with Sunlight Sword and 5 PCC. Although his evasion isn't reliable at times he can still put a dent into things. He has 7 strength at base level but that shouldn't hinder him too much, he's not used exclusively for combat anyways. Pahn also has that sweet five movement stars, which allow him to move again 25% of the time. This is very useful to unlock another door / chest, retreat or steal something else from an enemy. Pahn can keep his own and comes better than Lifis, making him a definite choice over Lifis. ______________________________________________________________________________ 32. He also joins underlevelled further compounding his offense issues. The only thing that sets him apart is Nihil. Nihil however is very situational and only useful against certain bosses, such as those with Great Shield. Trewd performs decently against Reinhardt, with Nihil negating his skills. Trewd also makes a good addition in the Final Chapter with Nihil negating the Dark Warrior's skills, but that's about it. Trewd is still decidedly mediocre even when he has Nihil. ______________________________________________________________________________ 33. Her growths are great but they don't help her surpass other staff users in a reasonable amount of time, especially with that horrid E Staves. Thankfully, Tina has a saving grace in the Unlock and Thief Staves. The Unlock Staff allows you to Unlock any door or chest in the map, but it can miss. Due to Tina's horrid Skill it will miss quite often, so you may want to put the Odo Scroll or other Skill-boosting stuff onto her so she doesn't miss. The Thief Staff is also useful. Tina can steal anything which has a weight equal or lower to her Magic. However, with her bad Magic base she can't steal much even with a few levels. You can use the M Up and Holy Water to let Tina gain more Magic and be able to steal a wider variety of items. Speaking of the Thief Staff, you can actually steal Leidricks Lopto Sword in Chapter 24 for kicks. =) Tina will get up to C or B Staves at most, don't expect her to perform as well as other Staff users, but her Thief and Unlock Staves can prove to be useful. Fun fact: Tina has the highest movement growth in the game, at 5%. ______________________________________________________________________________ 34. He has okay durability but again, he can't grow much. Firstly, he has the benefit of being a flier enabling him to reach far-off villages and fly over forests and other terrain easily. Dean can also kill fleeing Pegasus Knights or Dragon Knights, and traverse mountains easily. Dean also has great base stats and growths, but what really makes him stand out is the Dragon Lance. Simply put, it is like Fin's Brave Lance, except weighing more and having less hit, and giving Dean Ambush instead of 10 Luck. Dean deals a crapload of damage with the Dragon Lance, and since he gets Ambush he would be killing off enemies before they got a chance to attack. Dean isn't good in indoor chapters despite his A in Swords, his low Move and reduced stats there make it unwise to field him. He can't use the Dragon Lance indoors ;_; He has a nice support with Linoan too. Dean is definitely recommended. ______________________________________________________________________________ 36. Homer can actually kill stuff with 5 PCC and Magic, and he can attack from 2 range so as not to get himself killed. Homer also has Elite meaning that he can level extremely fast. Homer also gets the great stat bonuses by promoting into Sage, 6 Magic and Skill, 4 Speed and Defence is great and gives you an incentive to promote him early. Of course, you might want to remain unpromoted so as to abuse Elite even more. Homer is very frail though, with bad Defence and HP, so be sure to keep him out of harm's way. He gets Staves after promotion which is nice too. ______________________________________________________________________________ 38. She can abuse Staves with a bit of grinding, has great promotion bonuses and good growths. Linoan can use Rezire right off the bat, while it reduces her AS by a lot it helps to fend off enemies by absorbing their HP, allowing her to take another hit. Only Linoan and Homer can use Rezire without grinding their Light Magic rank, Homer has to wait until after he promotes so Linoan has a monopoly on the tome. Linoan has massive PCC allowing her to kill a lot of stuff easily, and her 2x support bonus from Dean makes her second hit critical almost 100% of the time. However Linoan has durability issues, and a late promotion in Chapter 21, but that shouldn't hold you back. Eyrios has much higher durability and HP, which helps him fend off hordes of enemies and ensures he doesn't have problems with Fatigue. He has one of the highest base hitpoints in the game. Sun Sword also helps with his durability allowing him to regain HP, and Prayer can come in useful if the enemy gets some RNG hax. Eyrios also comes with A in Swords and Thunder Magic, letting him use Bolting which may come in useful in Chapter 18. He also can use a Master Sword and hit Mages or something with it. Eyrios may not look capable of dealing with enemies, but two hits from a Magic Tome is enough to kill most stuff anyway. Eyrios is a good candidate for the Wrath manual, but he may not need it due to Magic being powerful already. ______________________________________________________________________________ 41. However, he does come with A Rank staves which allow him to use them off the bat, and to be honest you can't have too many of them in this game. His only use is spamming staves, and it really helps him stand out. Sleuf alone is better than everyone you can get by going the B route because of this. ______________________________________________________________________________ 42. You need to favour her to get her up to par (and fix that 8 Str), and you generally have better options such as Dean. Misha is decent with Magic Swords but can only use them indoors where she is less effective. You don't really need to use Misha, and even when you do need a flyer Dean or a trained Karin will perform better than her. There isn't much motivation to use her. ______________________________________________________________________________ 43. Sara's Magic, Skill and Speed will increase very fast, and you can promote her early if you desire, giving her great stat bonuses and an A Rank in Staves. She can use any Staff after promotion which is a huge plus, combined with her great Magic, Skill and Speed growth she will help a lot in later chapters. You might not need to use a Knight Proof on her as her growths are godly, all you'd have to do is get her to A Staves. Sara can use the Kia staff which is crucial to recruiting a certain character in 24x, and getting past the Stone Spell in the Final Chapter. It doesn't have any use besides that, and you should be able to kill the boss before he can use Stone, so it isn't anything of note. ______________________________________________________________________________ 44. His growths are okay but he will be hard to train with those low stats upon joining. Shiva, Machua and Mareeta all have around the same bases as him, yet join about 15 levels lower. Bargain is nice, but it doesn't help his combat. You can buy nifty stuff with Bargain for half their price, so he's not completely useless. Shanam uses the awesome powers of the Balmung Shield to great effect. =) ______________________________________________________________________________ 45. However, she is hard to train as she doesn't come with Elite like Sara, dies to almost anything, and loses AS from Tomes. It will take quite a long time to get her stats going, and even then she doesn't have the luxury of spamming Staves or getting Sage promotion bonuses like Sara. She promotes into a Mage Knight, a little too late I guess since most of the chapters that are left are indoor maps. She can be good if favoured, but other units can equal or surpass her and its not worth it to train her. Wrath is useless since she lacks durability whatsoever. Unless you're facing weak enemies, it won't be of much use. ______________________________________________________________________________ 46. Xavier can use the Brave Bow right off the bat giving him a killer offense. He also has A in Axes which is nice, he can use the Master Axes and all that good stuff. His speed is a letdown, he'd be doubled by most enemies at this point in the game, and only Tina and Dalshein have worse base speed. It is sufficient though, Xavier has Wrath which allows him to kill almost anything on a counter. Xavier's Charge isn't doing him any favours as he has low Speed, and instead of initiating two rounds with an enemy he'd take two Ballista shots or two hits of Long Range Magic. Xavier's Big Shield is unreliable, a 6% chance to activate at base and a maximum of 20% chance if he reaches level 20, which isn't very likely. Xavier's Movement is equal to that of an unpromoted foot unit, he can't catch up outside but can keep up in indoor chapters. Too bad many of them have Dark Mages or Status Staves. Overall Xavier is a good unit made better with Wrath. Fun fact: Xavier has the same growths as Olwen, Eyrios and Galzus. =) ______________________________________________________________________________ 47. She's a healbot like Nanna but without Charisma, and a Leadership star instead. Her growths are good but the most she'll get is a few levels, so it goes to waste. She has decent enough base stats to tank some hits I guess, and you can't have too many healers. The only maps where she can function decently are 20, 21, 22 and 23, so she can't contribute much. Still an okay unit. ______________________________________________________________________________ 48. Conomore has passable base stats but you're at the point where most of your units should already equal or surpass him. He isn't too useful unlike Amalda, at least she has Staff utility while Conomore is forced to become a worse Fin / Dean / any other mounted unit really. 1 Leadership star makes him a nice filler though. ______________________________________________________________________________ 49. It weighs him down a bit but has a beastly critical rate, and with his 5 PCC it is going to hurt a lot. Delmud may seem to be below average, what with his low base stats. But he makes a useful Charisma bot, giving a 10% hit and evade bonus making it easier to deal with the hordes of enemies. Still, you can only use him in 21, 22 and 23, since he loses his mount in 24, 24x and the Final Chapter. He has limited use but is quite good when he is fielded. His growth rates are quite good but like Amalda and Conomore, he simply does not have the time to develop his stats further. ______________________________________________________________________________ 50. However, it is really only applicable for SSS runs since Sety will save you a lot of headaches later. You might also be a Cyas fanboy, but that's another story... Sety is by far the better unit. It should be pretty obvious given what spell Sety comes with. However, Cyas does contribute 3 Leadership stars and has A Staves, so that's probably a plus for him. Sety on the other hand also has A Staves, has higher durability and much higher AS and Evasion, and an overpowered tome. Cyas can't take hits for nuts and he can't dodge many things anyway. If he got Falaflame I would consider him &_& Just use Sety. ______________________________________________________________________________ 51. So subtracting its six weight, Sety has 30 AS and 36 Skill at base level. 30 AS will double everything in the game and activate Continue an obscene number of times. Add in that sexy A Staves and a Leadership star, and you've got a near invincible unit. Holsety just isn't built for FE5 where stats are capped at 20. In fact, even with stat caps of 30 ala FE4, Holsety is still mega-broken. I think the best hit% an enemy can muster against him is about 40-50%? His growths are also insane, not that he needs them to tear through enemies. ______________________________________________________________________________ 52. Galzus has average Magic however, and the last few chapters are chock full of status staff users. Still, he kills everything he touches and can take a lot of hits with that 54 HP / 14 Def. o====================================================================[SCRT]=o | V. I'll look over it and confirm their authenticity before adding them here. - Steal Leidrick's Lopto Sword Have a Thief with a Bow or a Tome 'Steal' from Leidrick. Give him the Bow or the Tome through stealing, Rescue your thief and get him out of harm's way. Now, place a unit two spaces from Leidrick to force him to use the Tome or the Bow. Use Tina's Thief Staff to steal the now-unequipped Lopto Sword. Tina needs to have at least 13 Magic with a Pure Water or an M Up to steal it. - Infinite Secret Shop visits Have a character with the Rewarp or Warp staff and the member card use the staff, then hover the cursor over the space with the Secret Shop. The door does not have to be open. When you return to the loading screen, start a New Game from there. The new file will have all the gold from the suspended file. ______________________________________________________________________________ C) The Random Number Generator [DRNG] ______________________________________________________________________________ All Fire Emblem games use a Random Number Generator, kind of like a huge dice to decide when attacks hit or criticals activate. There is a simple way of abusing the Random Number Generator in Thracia 776, forcing it to roll another random number. Just go to options and hover your cursor over the Animations option. It is the option at the top of the screen. Simply set it to another option than the one that it is currently set to, then exit the screen. The game would have rolled another number. You can use this in conjunction with savestates to abuse stat growths, but it takes the fun out of the game =( o====================================================================[CRDT]=o | VI.
