End Game --INTRODUCTION------------------------------------------------------------- For those who may not know, Final Fight 2 is the second rate, extremely lesser sequel to original 1989 Capcom classic, Final Fight. We once again rejoin Haggar and his new buddies to beat the crap out of the Mad Gear gang. This newer game features one more character and two player simultaneous play, which the original SNES port did not have. It was released exclusively for the SNES. While not one of my favorite games FF2 is still worth a play once and a while. --THE STORY---------------------------------------------------------------- Years ago, the Mayor of Metro City, Mike Haggar, with the help of his friends Cody and Guy, saved the city and his daughter Jessica from the clutches of the Mad Gear gang. Once again peace and harmony returned to the city. With Cody gone on vacation on his girlfriend Jessica and Guy gone off to Japan to train, Haggar went back to running the city full time. Little did he know that the Mad Gear gang was reforming. Seeking to gain dominance over not just Metro City, but the world, the resurgent Mad Gear gang kidnap Guy's fiancee Rena and her father and Guy's master Genryusai. Maki, Rena's younger sister seeks out Haggar's help and with Haggar's boarder Carlo's help, the three set out to destroy the Mad Gear once and for all. --CHARACTER GUIDE-----------------------------------------------------------> Controller Defaults: Jump: B Attack: Y Grab: press the control pad toward the enemy. ==Notes==================================================== - The Super moves drain energy, but the special moves don't. - "Left/right" means left or right on the control pad. ============================================================ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------> -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maki -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Age: 20 Height: 5'4" Weight: 114 lbs. Hobby: Street Fighting Bio: A childhood friend of Guy's and the little sister of Rena, she hopes to be a great street fighter someday. She is skilled in the art of ninjitsu, having been taught by her father Genryusai. Not a violent person by nature, she is foreced to use her ninjitsu skills when her family is kidnapped by the Mad Gear. Standing Combo: Two jabs, a cross, an elbow, finished with a jump kick. Moves ===== SUPER MOVE: Handstand Kick -- Attack+Jump SPECIAL MOVE: Off The Wall Kick -- Jump towards wall. When you hit the wall, press the jump button again. Flying Elbow --> Jump, Down+attack Jump Kick --> Jump, Attack Flying Kick --> Jump, press left or right on the pad, then attack Knee Bash --> Grab, Attack repeatedly Over The Shoulder Throw --> Grab, press left or right on the pad then attack Tips ==== Maki is fast, but not very strong. Use her quickness to your advantage. The standing combo is really useful for knocking opponents down in quick fashion. Keep enemies at a safe distance with the jump kick, and you'll be fine. Try not to grab the bigger, stronger opponents, as they'll be sure to do major damage. A good balance between the standing combo and jump kicks will be enough to clear a crowd of enemies. The jumping elbow is nearly useless, but can be used to set up the standing combo or some grab moves. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Haggar --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Age: 46 Height: 6'10" Weight: 280 lbs. Hobby: Street Fighting Bio: Former champion Street Fighter and current mayor of Metro City, Haggar rescued his daughter from the Mad Gear gang. Standing Combo: Two body punches finished by a sledge hammer punch. Moves ===== SUPER MOVE: Spinning Clothesline -- Press Attack+Jump SPECIAL MOVE: Spinning Piledriver -- Grab, Jump, Attack Flying Body Press --> Jump, then press down+attack Drop Kick --> Jump, then press attack Headbutt --> Grab, attack repeatedly Backdrop Suplex --> Grab, left/right, attack Tips ==== Haggar is powerful, but extremely slow. Playing Haggar, you should concetrate on using the Spinning Piledriver to clear out enemies. It's fast and knocks down all the enemies in the vicinity. Don't use his suplex in a crowd; it will open you up to attacks. Keep enemies away using the dropkick and use the piledriver to quickly clear the screen. Don't try to grab the Atlases, they'll bearhug you for major damage. Only use your combo when your enemies are on one side of the screen, otherwise enemies will may you pay from behind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carlos Miyamoto --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Age: ? Height: 6'2" Weight: 200 lbs. Hobby: Sword Collecting Bio: South American fighter Carlos is a boarder at Haggar's house. He is staying in Metro City to finish studies of the martial arts. Also, he is a sword enthusiast. Standing Combo: Two high punches, a cross, finished by a standing kick. Moves ===== SUPER MOVE: Sword Slash -- Press Attack+Jump SPECIAL MOVE: None Jumping First Drop --> Jump, down+attack Jump Kick --> Jump, attack Flying Kick --> Jump, left/right, attack Knee Bash --> Grab, attack repeatedly Throw --> Grab, press left or right on the pad then attack Tips ==== Carlos has a good balance of power and speed. The standing combo is a quick way to knockdown enemies. Combine it with the throw to keep the enemies down and on one side. --ENEMIES----------------------------------------------------------------- There are two types of baddies: cannon fodder and the level bosses. The former populate levels and easier to defeat. Bosses, however, are not as easy to beat. =========================================================================== -> Cannon Fodder Bull/Elias -- Short, hunched over guys. Beware of their uh.. dangerous shin kick. Schot/Jack -- Punks in tanktops. Easy enough to kill. Mark/Mic -- Short punks with one punch. Don't trouble yourself too much and use your standing combo to get rid of them fast. Andores -- A family of big, tall badasses. Beware of their grab attacks and charge. Keeping them on the ground is the key. Elick -- Fat dude with electrodes. Beware his electric charge. Try keeping him on the ground with jumping attacks. He is also very susceptible to grab attacks. Elijah/Eliot -- Tall lanky punks with weapons. They tend to kick. Get them on the same side as the other baddies using throws and use your standing combo to beat them to a pulp. Atlas/Jony -- These short, muscle-bound guys are way too friendly. Get close to them and they'll give you their bear hug of doom, which takes off lots of energy. Keep your distance and attack with caution. They block, so try to use jumping attacks to defeat them. Leon/Robert -- Tall guys with weapons. Beware of their flying attacks. They replace the female gang members in the Japanese version (Mary and Eliza) -> Bosses --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Won Won Height: 7'4" Weight: 450 lbs. Location: Hong Kong Former Chinese chef, now a Mad Gear cronie. Beware his blades of doom. Tips ==== Defeat his cronies first, then concentrate on him. Use some knee attacks, then a throw to do major damage on him. If he's out of grab distance, combo him. Beware his flying leg drop attack. =========================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freddie Height: 6'4" Weight: 408 lbs. Location: France A former Navy Seal, Freddie was discharged after he punched out one of his superiors. He is now a mercenary hired by the Mad Gear to head their terrorism unit. Tips ==== This guy mainly resorts to a lame charging attack that does WAY more damage than it should. Defeat his cronies and keep him down with a jumping attack while you're at it. When he's the only one left, keep a safe distance away and wait him to charge you. When he's in distance, combo him. Repeat the process until he's down for the count. =========================================================================== -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bratken Height: 6'7" Weight: 434 lbs. Location: Holland A psychotic overgrown boy, the Frankenstein's monster-like Bratken was bribed to join the gang with a room full of toys. Now he's bored and he wants to play with his newfound toy: you. Tips ==== Of course, you should concentrate upon eliminating his cronies and keeping him down before you actually concentrate on Bratken himself. He mainly resorts to some lame jump kick/stomp thing, which he telgraphs. Anticipate where he's going to land and grab him. Use your knee bash/headbutt two times then a throw. If you're Haggar, use the piledriver after two head butts for huge damage. He sometimes using a lame running elbow too. Keep approaching him from the top or bottom of the screen and grabbing him then using the aforementioned strategy, and he's toast. =========================================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phillipe Height: 5'8" Weight: 148 lbs. Location: England A depraved individual, this circus clown helps the Mad Gear smuggle illegal items through the circus. Beware his cane attack. Tips ---- Keep your distance from this psycho and use your combo as well as jumping attacks to send him back to the circus for good. ============================================================================ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rolent Height: 5'9" Weight: 187 lbs. This zealous, fanatical militant returns from the first final Fight to wreak more havoc. Beware his grenade and staff attacks. Tips ---- Rolent's main attack is a jump off the railing on the rooftop into a jump kick. Avoid this and hit him with your combo. Also watch for his off the wall jumpkick. You can avoid this by walking to the opposite wall. Keep hitting him with your combo after his jump kick off the railing, until his meter turns yellow... he'll begin throwing grenades. Now jump away from the grenades and use jump attacks until he's down. ============================================================================= ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Retu Height: ? Weight: ? The leader of the Mad Gear, Retu is a huge force to be reckoned with. Beware his standing spin kick. ============================================================================== --CHEATS/TIPS----------------------------------------------------------------- PLAY AS SAME CHARACTER - To play as the same character, at the title screen where is says "Game Start" and "Option Mode", press Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, L, R. The background will turn blue if you did it right. FULL ENDING - To get the full ending, beat the game on "Expert" mode. While you're still pressing the buttons, hold the pad away from the enemy. Instead of finishing the combo, you'll throw your opponent for massive damage. TIP: KEEP ENEMIES AT BAY - Keep your opponents on one side of the screen by using your throws. They are easier to deal with this way. --END GAME-------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mad Gear leader Retu is defeated and falls out the window. Haggar and crew cut Rena and Genryusai down. Maki, her sister and father are reunited at last. Haggar talks about having repaid Guy, we helped him find his daughter Jessica. Rena thanks all three of them for rescuing her and writes to Guy to tell them of their experience. Guy, still training, reads the letter and thanks everyone.
