I started writing some video game guides/FAQs when I was just a kid. Across a couple years, I put out fifteen (15) guides, and then life took over and I pretty much vanished. It's been a decade or so and I'm a student trying to work my way into the world, though I have a few years before I can get there. I intend to pick up the pace, at least as much as I can, with these guides, and get some heavy hitters out there finally, but again, this passion of mine costs time, and, well, time really is money. So I would like to say, and this is by no means some requirement, that if you enjoy this guide (or any of my other guides), then PLEASE consider giving a little donation, even if it's just a tiny bit of something. ANYTHING will help me, as I have many things that I need to address, let alone the fact that gaming itself is an expensive hobby. But in the long run, the reason I ask is this MOST importantly: Donations will help me write more and more guides, and therefore give YOU more and more of what you wish to see. PAYPAL ======== If you donate through PayPal, please visit [ https:// www . paypal . com/webapps/mpp/send-money-online ] or navigate to PayPal yourself and choose "Transfer" -> "Send Someone Money" and use the following email address [ maidenrocks99@gmail.com ] If you use the link, ensure to remove the spaces from it before going! THANK YOU very much, everyone. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Story 01.02 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o You are born from Gaia, the third star made from the Sun. You life is your HP, or Health Points. If you run out of HP, then you will perish. Your "money" is your EP, or Evolution/Experience Points. You use these to evolve, by spending them on upgrades for your creature. You gain EP by eating creatures, and you also recover some HP from it, too. Your EP is crucial to surviving in the game. For a couple tips: 1) eat as many things as possible, 2) upgrade the important things whenever you can, 3) don't forget to save your game, 4) go back to previous levels to gain more EP if you need to, and 5) if you like strength, get strength upgrades, and the same if you like speed, get speed upgrades. ________________________________ | | O===================| |===================O | Logbook, A History of Changes | 02.00 O===================| |===================O |________________________________| DATE REACHED : PLACE REACHED ---------------------------- January 02, 2006 : Began the work on the guide. I will likely divulge some things along the way, if not good portions of things. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | The World Before Land (500 - 450 million B.C.) 03.01 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Ocean of Origin 03.01a ========================================================================== You begin as a fish. Swim forward and the jellyfish will explain a couple things to you. After that, attack him. Yes, I attack him. Just repeatedly use Y to bite him until he turns into meat. Then use X to eat the meat. Be careful, the jelly are your enemies right now; touching them will decrease your HP, or Health Points, and that's ultimately what keeps you alive. Also, when you eat certain things, you gain EP, or Evolution/Experience Points, which are what you "spend" to evolve certain things. This is very crucial in the game, so make sure you gain as much as you can. Anyway, proceed to the right and bite and eat your way through. Keep eating as many jellyfish as you can. I got about 700 or so EP after just a couple minutes going back and forth in a little area and fighting the jellyfish. After you're done, just swim to the right and out of the level. Cave of Guidance 03.01b ========================================================================== Wow, a "darker" level I guess. I'm a pretty patient guy, since I just swam around in this little area and ate the jellyfish around here until I got over 1000 EP total. I had 1020 EP before I entered the cave. Anyway, when you are ready, enter the little cave at the bottom right. You'll meet some new eel like enemies. Attack them without mercy and keep swimming. Go down to the cucumbers flopping and you'll be told something. Afterwards, eat them if needed and fight the worms for more EP if you really want to. When you're ready, go to the yellow orb and eat it. It is a crystal and it will teach you how to evolve. Afterwards, go back and attack the eels again. Evolve something if you're interested, but swim out of the cave when you're done. At this point, I had way more than enough to evolve to the Zinichthy Jaws, which are 800 EP. I had 455 left over after evolving. I advise this to be your first evolution, as you'll easily take down enemies in one bite now. Anyway, eat some more jellyfish if you want, then leave the level. Cave of Temptation 03.01c ========================================================================== Wow, the levels are quite short to be truthful. Don't worry though, EVO is a pretty decent sized game. The same deal goes on here; just eat some enemies and enter the cave. You'll meet another enemy group, these weird sea slug things. If you attack one, they'll split into two smaller slugs, then you must eat those. The good things is that each small slug drops their own food, so you get double the EP and HP. They're worth 20 EP, which isn't much better than the worms. But when you think about it, you only must eat 5 small slugs to get 100 EP when you must eat 10 jellyfish to get as much, or around 7 eels to get as much and change. Anywho, keep swimming and disposing of your opponents. Go to the right and you will see another crystal, this time red. Eat it and you'll magically evolve into an eel type of animal. You'll have increased speed and such, so test it out. Sadly, this won't last long. That's a good thing though, because if you bought some evolution things, you would have lost them. Take the advantage of this upgrade and eat the slugs. After the effects wear off, you'll revert back. This is a good time to bring up the Record of Evolution. When you evolve into something new, no matter if it was just a Jaw upgrade or something like the brand new eel, you can record it in your Evolution Record. Doing this will allow you to evolve back into that form if you want to later on. You can't do that now, though you can record the form if you want. I'll give more on this later. Exit the level. Ocean of Terodus 03.01d ========================================================================== NOTE: To access this level, go to the world map. Hit down and you'll stop at the split between the level on the right and the level you came from a bit ago. Go right to access the new level. Some people actually don't know to do that. This is an instance where the Angler's Horn will come in handy. If you don't know what I mean, read the Horns section in Appendix A. It will attract the enemies to you, or at least some of them, and you'll be able to attack easily. Right now, I had literally attacked a ton of enemies and gained enough EP to basically max my creature out. I bought the Zinichthy's Jaw, Angler's Horn, Shell Body and Increase Body Size, Tackle Fin, Kuraselache's Dorsal Fin, and Kuraselache's Tail. I am very patient when it comes to certain things. I wasn't going to wind up losing to a bunch of tough enemies. Trust me, I'll try to make this walkthrough as fit for you as possible though. Anywho, I highly recommend you invest in the Angler's Horn, like I said before. You'll easily defeat a bunch of enemies that way, especially the high EP dropping Terodus fish. They drop 25, making it only 4 to eat to get 100 EP. If you get the Angler's Horn, you'll be swarmed by Terodus, but they won't attack. Talk about easy kills and EP. Keep swimming east to reach a bubble wall. You'll be blocked, so go back and the volcano below you will erupt. Watch out for the flying magma rocks and head back easts towards the bubble wall, which is no more. Exit the level. Cave of Zinichtys 03.01e ========================================================================== Have a feast on the enemies outside, then enter the cave when prepared. You'll meet yet again another enemy, the Zinichythys. They aren't TOO much trouble, unless you haven't evolved at all. Avoid the enemies if you have to and swim east; continue straight all the way until the path stops to find a blue crystal. If you eat this, it will give you 500 EP! This is a great gift to find. There's also another enemy type in the stage, some shellfish that bounce around insanely and are hard to attack. Just avoid them if you want to. They deal out some bad HP damage if you don't have the Shell Body. A big suggestion is to get the Zinichthy's Jaws here too, because they help you take out the Zinichthys easily. When you're ready to continue, go to the left side of the cave and go down to the very bottom. At the bottom, go east and you'll reach another little volcano event. Avoid the rocks and keep going to reach the ending of the level. Domain of Cepalas 03.01f ========================================================================== The fish here are quite annoying, as they gang up on you. Hopefully you have evolved your Jaws so you can dispatch them quickly. Continue east and you'll reach a cave, so enter it. You'll be back on the world map and unable to return to previous areas. Cave of Origin 03.01g ========================================================================== Sounds familiar to the Ocean of Origin, no? That's probably because this is the Origin of another area. Do your thing, eat some fish, and go into the cave. Follow the straightforward path until you reach new enemies. These weird squid things use their spiky shells to jam you. Just eat them, they're pathetic. As you exit the area, some seaweed will be talking. It'll be odd, but just listen. They'll talk about how some Kuraselache are antagonizing the current conditions. Domain of Kuraseleache 03.01h ========================================================================== The Kuraselaches are not friendly; in fact, they are far from friendly, they're sharks! Try your best to defeat these fiends as they can put quite a pounding on you. Head upwards and eat the starfish along the way. At the top, head eastwards through the vast array of pummeling enemies. Evolve something if you need to, even just to regain health. I highly recommend getting the Shell Body if you can, it helps a lot in Defense. Towards the end of the area, you'll hear some Strolites speak of the Kuraselache sharks, who apparently rule them. They're afraid of them, and who else to save their day? Why, you, or us, of course. Swim into the cave. Once you enter, evolve anything that will help you dearly, and go forward. BOSS: KURASELACHE ================= This dude will probably pound a beating on you. I certainly got defeated the first time, and I basically had everything maxed out to the best it could be. The trick to defeating him is to use his speed against him. Avoid him when he charges at you at the best you can, and go near the wall on the right. When he charges again, quickly move out of the way and he will crash into the wall and be stunned for a moment. Take this moment to let loose your fish chompers on his shark tail. After about 3 or 4 bites, depending on how quick you are, get the heck out of the way. Make sure he doesn't let his charging attack get the best of you, and just repeat this process over until you finally take him down. ======== END BOSS You'll get a hefty award for defeating this beast, as you gain 250 EP from each of the 4 meat chunks that the shark king becomes. That's right, 250. That's a total of 1000 EP, enough to spend on some more evolution if you need to. Leave the cave. Outside, the Strolites will talk to you for a second. Afterwards, go above the cave and swim out of the level. Coast of Pange 03.01i ========================================================================== You'll be up towards the surface of the ocean. Hold up and press B to jump out of the water onto the land. You'll evolve into a new land creature. You'll now grow some legs and will be able to walk on land. Head east and at the exit, Gaia will speak to you. She will complete the evolution and you'll become an Amphibian. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Early Creatures of Land (300 - 230 million B.C.) 03.02 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Coast of Pange 03.02a ========================================================================== Wow, you're a land-walker now. Great. But not exactly; because if you fall back in the water, you'll be able to swim. Go forward on the land and eat the yellow crystal. After that, walk off the screen. Ocean of Pange 03.02b ========================================================================== NOTE: On the world map, go left to the blinking dot in the water. Here, jump into the water to transform. You'll swim now, so go down and eat up the enemies. There's only some weird fish here, so eat them and evolve something if you feel you must. When ready, jump out the water at the top right and onto the land. Exit the level. Land of Timid Ikustega 03.02c ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the other blinking dot on the land that appear on the left side, not the one that was there before. We'll be following the path in the forest-like area for now. Basically, just walk across the land defeating the walking tadpole creatures. Also, jump and eat the dragonflies if you must. The level is simple. Land of Bull Ikustega 03.02d ========================================================================== Now there's only tadpole creatures that are stronger. Not much difference than before. After defeating them, just exit. Land of Amphibians 03.02e ========================================================================== There's basically the same deal here, except there are small dinosaur like enemies now. But I still had little trouble. You do get a warning at the beginning of the level, though. Empty Land 03.02f ========================================================================== NOTE: Don't go to the new dot. Go all the way back to the dot on the east side of the land that we skipped. Go forward and you'll get a message. Afterwards, go and eat the green crystal ahead. Now, you can use Review of Evolution. If you recorded any previous evolutions you went through, you can use Review of Evolution to change back into a recorded one. You only get one chance per green crystal though, so make sure you really want to. Now exit. Land of Boss Ikustega 03.02g ========================================================================== NOTE: Go back to the dot that we just turned away from. Now you will face a boss. He is an overgrown tadpole creature, much like the last boss was an overgrown Kuraseleache/shark. BOSS: DEBUSTEGA =============== Well, he's pretty rough. He will jump around a lot and spit stuff out at you. If you are highly evolved enough, you should do a good amount of damage on him, which causes him to go backwards, then jump over you. If you make him do that, use it to your advantage. Right after he lands from jumping over you, bite him again. He'll jump again; you bite again. You can "cheat" this way and win easily. It's how I did it. ======== END BOSS Afterwards, you get some more meat just like when you beat the shark boss. These carry 1000 EP each, so you get a total of 4000 EP! That's not bad. After that, some tadpoles will ask for your help. Before you go though, you can do something mean. It's just weird. If you go behind the two tadpoles, you can bite them and they'll back up to the left. Then they will try to exit to the right, where you are, so keep biting them. After a few bites, they'll turn into meat and an astonished Gaia will say "Ah...h! What are you doing?" when they do. If you eat the meat though, you'll get 200 EP, but you'll get -999 HP so you will die when you do so. I just thought it was weird. Domain of Profasu 03.02h ========================================================================== NOTE: Go to the east again, but only go to the eastern dot by the coast. Don't go to the one above it. While on that dot, hit right to access the new one leading to this level. Right at the entrance, you'll hear the Profasu talking about you. The Profasu are the ancestors of the cockroach, apparently. After the small dialogue, two Profasu will charge at you. Eat them and continue. Basically, go through the level eating Profasu and that's it. Domain of Giant Bee 03.02i ========================================================================== Oh snap! Right at the beginning, an Ikustega (the tadpoles) will come to you, but a Giant Bee comes down and picks it up. That's a bad thing. There is a thing you can do though. Right when the bee grabs it, bite it. You'll hurt the Ikustega but no matter what upgrades you have (I had the toughest jaw here), it will only kill the Bee. Don't bite the Ikustega again. You just have to go through the level doing this, as more Bees will be ahead trying to grab the innocent Ikustega. Land of Insect 03.02j ========================================================================== This is the same as the last level, except the Bees will be flying above you already carrying the Ikustega. Just jump and bite them, then continue on. Cave of King Bee 03.02k ========================================================================== This is kinda weird. An Ikustega will come out of the cave, but badly injured. I think this is about the most gore I ever saw in a SNES game. It's barely any, but I never saw much blood in these games. The Ikustega has a giant bee stinger stuck in it with blood coming out of the wound. It asks you to eat the food it gathered to defeat the King-Bee. This Ikustega is the father of the Ikustega in the level where you defeated Debustega. After he dies, eat the food to get a good 1000 EP. If you haven't evolved yet, do so. Inside the cave are many eggs. Some of them are healthy, some will hatch these weird blue creatures. You have to kill all the creatures to see the King-Bee. After they are gone, walk around the eastern side until dialogue commences. BOSS: KING BEE ============== This guy is really tough! I had all the upgrades by now, but he still did some good damage. He has two attacks: he'll shoot stingers at you, or he'll swoop down to sting you. The sting shooting attack did 3 HP damage on me for each stinger, and the big stinging one did 16 HP damage! I had the toughest body for defense, too. You have to keep jumping and biting him to do damage, as he flies the whole time. That is, unless you can pull off some bite attack when he swoops down to sting you. Keep up the process to kill him. ======== END BOSS After the battle, you'll get some more meat, haha! These are 300 EP each, so not as good as Debustega. Afterwards. head out the cave. Desert of Choice 03.02l ========================================================================== NOTE: The name doesn't show up if you enter from the King-Bee cave. A dragonfly will warn you of the Sand-Eater in the next area. There's no enemies here so continue. Desert of Sand Eater 03.02m ========================================================================== The Sand-Eater is annoying. You can't damage it, you can only avoid. These weird things will pop up from the sand here and there, and they will shoot you with sand. Just keep running across the desert and jumping over them. There will be a green crystal in the middle of the desert; it should be the second one you have picked up, I think. The desert may seem neverending, but it will end after a little bit. It might take you a minute or less, depending on how quick you can move and how high you can jump. It just seems neverending from you only seeing the same thing. Desert of Edosaurus 03.02n ========================================================================== After the dialogue, just go forward and defeat the enemies. There's just a bunch of dinosaurs around and it gets repetitive. Desert of Mosuchop 03.02o ========================================================================== This place is kinda annoying. I just jumped across the level mainly. There are new enemies hiding in the sand. They'll pop out and bite you, then go back in. The best way to handle them is to, well, be faster than them. Bite them right when they come out of the sand. Cross the level and you'll be done. Desert Time Trans 03.02p ========================================================================== A firefly will come tell you that the Queen Bee will defeat you and it will fly off. A second later, there's the Queen Bee. BOSS: QUEEN BEE =============== She's a lot tougher than the King Bee. I had all the evolutions parts at this stage and she still did critical damage. She has a simple pattern to her attacks on you. First, she shoots 3 stingers at you, which did 6 HP damage on me each time. After that, she'll fly down and try to bite you, which did 22 HP damage on me! She'll start right back over on the stingers after that, and the whole process repeats. It's more of a matter of timing your jumping and your biting. Don't forget that you can damage her if you land on top of her, too, so you don't have to bite only. ======== END BOSS Afterwards, there will be four honeycombs to eat, and they gave me 500 EP each! That's a pretty good deal, I guess. Try to leave the level then, and you'll be told what'll happen to the area. After that, Gaia will make you a reptile and transport you elsewhere. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Age of Dinosaurs (200 - 65 million B.C.) 03.03 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Door to Dina Continent 03.03a ========================================================================== There's nothing much here except to eat the yellow crystal for an EVO Tip, then leave the level. Domain of Tecodonto 03.03b ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level to the south. There's not much to do except to defeat the enemies and move on. It was funny when I was here, because I had removed all the evolutions on my creature and made it the smallest possible...and the enemies ran. They wouldn't get near me, they actually ran in fear. So this area was a breeze. Domain of Polsaurus 03.03c ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level that was just made. Leave the other level from the beginning alone for now. Jump up and eat the green crystal here. Go on through the level and defeat the weird headbutting dinos. They only have 3 HP, at least for me they did. Domain of Syrocosaurus 03.03d ========================================================================== NOTE: Still leave the beginning stage alone, go to the new created one. There's no threat here unless you attack the stegosaurus (I think that's what it is). Just run on by the unhappy father and leave the level. Marsh of Amphibians 03.03e ========================================================================== NOTE: This is a new stage right beside the one that we skipped a while back. It's in one of the brown pools at the top left corner of the map. It's the pool on the right. There's a lot of angry amphibians here, so just run around and attack them. Not much else to do here. Marsh of Prime Frog 03.03f ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the left brown pool. Nothing much here except what it says, frogs. Just run up and bite them to death. They bounce away a couple bites but they'll attack back with their tongue flicks. Domain of Brosasaurus 03.03g ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the only new level now. The title said Doamin on my version, but whatever. There's basically nothing to harm you here. There's these long-neck dinosaurs that eat from the trees. They didn't harm me at least, but that might be because my creature was about their size. Bite them until they're outta your way. Domain of Prasauro 03.03h ========================================================================== I don't know if the title was misspelled but that's beside the point. There's some more leaf eating dinos here, but they do some weird screeching thing that takes off your health. It's pretty annoying but it sounds like the game is buzzing. Defeat them and be on your way. Domain of Segosaurus 03.03i ========================================================================== I think it should be stegosaurus. What's with the weird titles? Anyhow, just kill more dinos. There's nothing new except these things attack with their tails. Domain of Prime Frog 03.03j ========================================================================== There's some more frogs! And another little creatures. These frogs are attacking the little syrocosaurs. Just run and either bite them or ignore them. There's nothing else here, literally. Domain of Prime Frog 03.03k ========================================================================== NOTE: Enter the exact same place you came from. There's a new frog here, a big orange/tan frog. After the conversation, prepare for a tough battle. BOSS: MOTHER OF PRIME FROG ========================== It's more or less a VERY tedious fight. The Mother will send out quite a few of her small offspring, and though they only did 1 HP damage on me, but they all swarmed and made it REALLY hard to escape. Try your best to defeat them while avoiding the Mother's jump attacks. I can't really provide pointers here because I had a much annoying fight with this one. I had maxed out my creature, at least on the way I wanted it, and I still barely lasted. Just try to go mainly for the Mother and just jump over the small frogs, unless there's too many swarming you. ======== END BOSS You'll see a lotta mini-frogs appear and they turn into meat. There's 8 total and they give 250 EP each, so that's a good amount. Gobble it up and leave. Domain of Tritops 03.03l ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level above the Domain of Prime Frog. Just some triceratops here now. Nothing new except it's just a different type of dino. Ocean of Plesusaurus 03.03m ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level in the water about the Domain of Tritops. Jump in the water and swim to the next screen. Just eat up all the underwater creatures here, ranging from swimming dinos to octopus beasts. It's not too hard if you have leveled up your creature. Mt. Brave 03.03n ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level above the last one, it's on the big rock pillar thing. There's some pterodactyls that will pick you up and drop you to the ground here, so watch out. Go to the right and ignore the first small mountain hill, but when you reach the second one, jump to the top. It'll go to the top of the screen, but still jump and you'll reach a new area. Continue to climb and at the top, a voice tells you to jump off to the left. Do so and you'll evolve into a bird! Now you can have bird evolutions, so press the jump button in midair to fly. Now you can leave the stage. Mt. Hidden Mammals 03.03o ========================================================================== NOTE: You can access the level in the middle of the volcano looking thing now, if you're a bird. Nothing much to do except to eat the mammals and jump off the mountain. Domain of Pronesaurus 03.03p ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level on the eastern island. Just defeat the new dinos here with spiky armor. Domain of Omosaurus 03.03q ========================================================================== These things have sharp jaws, so watch out. Just bite them back and try to keep your health up. They're fast too, so just bite, bite, bite! Run away if you have to and try to evolve. Domain of Tyrasaurus 03.03r ========================================================================== This thing doesn't look like much fun! Here you get a choice whether to join the Tyrasaurus creatures or to turn down the offer. If you accept, nothing will really happen. It will show your future and the meteors killing the dinosaurs. Afterwards, you'll go back to the world map and have to choose the level again. If you want to really, just accept. But when you come back, the fight will automatically begin. BOSS: TYRASAURUS ================ These things are a pain. You have to defeat numerous Tyrasaurus. There's a green crystal on the cliff near you though, so get it after defeating the Tyrasaurus. Just attack these things like normal enemies, but be more careful. After you kill about 10 or so, then something happens. ======== END BOSS Gaia will save you from the fate that is to come. A scene shows the asteroids falling from the sky and destroying the dinosaurs. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Ice Age (65 - 36 million B.C.) 03.04 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Iced Coast 03.04a ========================================================================== There is an crystal you can eat for an EVO Tip. Afterwards, just leave the level. Cave of Judgement 03.04b ========================================================================== Enter the cave. Go the the right and you can get the option to become a Mammal. I chose to do so, but that's me. Either choice, leave the cave after that. Cave of Deltadium 03.04c ========================================================================== Enter the cave. Go right and you'll hear some creatures talking. Afterwards, eat some rats running around. Leave the cave and head back to the world map. Door to Mt. Snow 03.04d ========================================================================== More rats, so just climb or jump your way to the top and leave. Not too much to see here. Domain Paramis 03.04e ========================================================================== Just some more random animals; they look like squirrels. Eat them up and just leave. Domain of Prime Bird 03.04f ========================================================================== Yippee, some birds! They are pesky falcon type things, but shouldn't be too hard to defeat with a bite and a well-placed jump. Jump all the way along the level, watching out for the birds. They're quite annoying. There's also a green crystal in the middle of the level so be sure to snag that, but don't fall off the platforms. Exit of Mt. Snow 03.04g ========================================================================== This is basically "Door to Mt. Snow" flipped around, and with a bird. Just climb or jump down. Land of Survival 03.04h ========================================================================== NOTE: On the map, hit down and you'll come to this stage. You'll be doing some jumping here. When the longneck dynosaurs lower their necks, jump onto them and bounce off. Don't try to fight them, they'll probably win. Just repeat that the whole level and exit. Land of Survival 03.04i ========================================================================== NOTE: On the map, go down from the last level with the same name. Yeah, the same name. I don't know why it is, but who cares!? Fight some of the tyrasaurus dinosaurs here. Avoid them the best you can if you're a mammal, they'll probably kill you easily. I just did a lot of jumping and running. Domain of Balrium 03.04j ========================================================================== NOTE: To the right of the last level. The easiest way to defeat the creatures is to jump on them a lot of the time. You can usually just dodge them by jumping anyway. Not too much of a challenge here. The North Pole 03.04k ========================================================================== NOTE: Head right from Domain of Balrium. It'll look like you disappeared, but watch the top right corner of the map. You'll appear there. Penguins! And some type of seal things. Just jump or bite them and be on your merry way. Only like three penguins and one seal in the level. Domain of Mammoth 03.04l ========================================================================== NOTE: Down from The North Pole. You'll find a boss here, a mammoth. BOSS: MAMMOTH ============= He has a very simple pattern of shooting three bubbles at you, then charging at you. The easiest thing to do is stay close to him. He won't charge at you but for a second and he'll stop before he hits you. Then, you jump on him and it'll interrupt his bubble attack. Stay close, jump, rinse, repeat. ======== END BOSS There will be two more mammoths that you have to deal with, after this guy. After they are defeated, a pink mammoth will give you a clue to what to do next. Now leave the level. Fort Bird-man 03.04m ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the level with the floating cloud thing above it. First off, just walk to the gigantic ice pillar. A bird will come down and take you to a fortress in the sky. It's pretty easy to dodge all the dinosaur birds, but the ones riding on the other dinosaurs are somewhat hard to defeat. Just make your way across the level by dodging and jumping. Inside the fort, there are flying birds with swords. I don't know how it is possibly, but just take them out anyway. Towards the end of the walk through the fort, you'll see transporter things. Go through the bottom one that you fall near. In the new one, move a bit then go back into it. Then do it once again. You'll be in a pretty big spaced room with one teleporter. Go to the hallway to the right. Fall down after a bit, and head through the left hallway. Enter the teleporter. From here, drop down to the right and grab the green crystal. Go left and into the teleporter. Here, just move a bit and go back into the one you just came out of. In here, don't accept the offer of the Bird-King. BOSS: BIRD-KING =============== He flies. He throws crystals. That's just about the extent of it. Though the crystals deal some massive damage, at least to me. There's also a special attack he does but you can usually interrupt it with an attack. Just keep jumping around and biting him, he should go down pretty easily. Though it will take a while. ======== END BOSS Well...the castle explodes! But you have to get out before that. So just grab the goodies and escape via the teleporter. Domain of Hynodon 03.04n ========================================================================== NOTE: This should be the only place left. It's at the top left of the map. Defeat the dog looking things here and head left through the cave-passage. If you came here before, ice was blocking the entrance. On the other side, you meet who everyone talks about...the Yeti! BOSS: YETI ========== This guy is a pushover at this stage. When he leaps forward to punch you, just bite him twice and he'll fly back. Then he leaps again, and you bite twice, and he flies back. The process goes over and over. I would have figured him to be tougher. It really helps to have Fierce Jaws, though. ======== END BOSS Afterwards, the Yeti dies and his wife comes in. BOSS: YETI MOTHER ================= She's basically as easy as her husband, but with an extra attack. Use the same pattern as before, except after biting her, she'll blow ice at you, so dodge that. Then keep up the biting and dodging, same old pattern over again. ======== END BOSS Afterwards, Gaia will talk to you some more, and you will begin the final stretch towards Eden. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Early Man (26 - 3 million B.C.) 03.05 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o NOTE: THIS IS WHERE YOU DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO BE A HUMAN. You can do so by getting the Cat Jaws and Rabbit Body. Then choose Ramothecus body. From there, keep going to Body and to Evolve Further. If this is your first time through, don't go for the Human. Just follow my strategies. If you do become a Human, it will be a little different in certain strategies. Final Step to Evolve 03.05a ========================================================================== More squirrels to deal with. Guess they run rampant now. Just run across the long level and leave them behind. Domain of Sincerous 03.05b ========================================================================== Well, there's some moose. And flowers. And slimy bugs to eat. That's about it. Domain of Fish of Prey 03.05c ========================================================================== There are pirahna in the lake! Jump in and swim across, fighting pirahna along the way. Domain of Sea Otter 03.05d ========================================================================== The name says it all. Sea otters, swimming all around. Fight them off and just swim your way across. Domain of Alligator 03.05e ========================================================================== Certainly worse than sea otters. Try to dodge them if you want, or bite them back with full force. If you don't have Fierce Jaws yet, you either don't care or don't have enough EVO points. Domain of Grizzly 03.05f ========================================================================== Grizzly bears, ahoy! They're honestly easy to defeat, but the way they move make it hard to land a good hit on them. Sometimes you can jump over them and just ignore or run away from them. Forest of Segosaurus 03.05g ========================================================================== NOTE: This is obviously the one on the map located in the forest. Let the segosaurus be when it asks you to not attack. You'll get a hint about evolution. Domain Eohip 03.05h ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the other place outside the forest. They couldn't just say horse, could they? Not much a big deal. Either fight or dodge their two-legged attacks. Domain of Saber Tiger 03.05i ========================================================================== The sabre-toothed tigers aren't that much to deal with. Dodge or fight. The levels are really getting repetitive now, just with different enemies. Domain of Condor 03.05j ========================================================================== Oh boy. Birds. Again. Climb up to the top if you feel like it, or just walk on through. There's a cutscene at the top if you can fly above the mountain. Cave of Monkey Human 03.05k ========================================================================== Now we see the real humans, at least almost. Monkeys! Run into the cave and start going to the right until you reach a wooden elevator, so says the monkey. Go up once, then head right along the hall until you reach the end with another elevator. Ride it up twice, which should take you to the top. Now head right down the hall to the end; you'll find a boss here. BOSS: YETI ========== This guy is freaking rough. Really hard. First off, don't let him hit you. At all. His four-punch combo is basically a game over. Try your best to catch him off guard with your bite. Don't even try jumping on him or ramming him to do damage; biting is the only somewhat safe method. This is also a good time to take advantage of a "glitch" in the game. If you are low on health, go to the Evolution mention and either Shorten or Extend your Neck. Upon doing this, you will gain all your health back during the evolution. Keep using this trick to stay alive. Take note it doesn't have to be the Neck ones, but they seem the cheapest for EVO points and they don't affect your strength at all. ======== END BOSS Grab the spoils from the fight and leave. Domain of Ditryma 03.05l ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the first level accessible, not the one in the water. Fight the whimpering birds, they shouldn't put up a fight. Towards the end, stand in the center of the stones and press a button...like attack or something. The screen should get wavy and you'll be transported somewhere. If not, move around a bit and keep trying. Domain of Queen Bee 03.05m ========================================================================== NOTE: You're transported to the level. Looks like we have to fight her again. She's just a little bit tougher, but the exact same in pattern. BOSS: QUEEN BEE =============== Just adjust the plan a bit, since you're a mammal now. Not much harder or different at all. ======== END BOSS Just go right to the stones ane transport back. Final Ocean 03.05n ========================================================================== NOTE: This is the one in the water, obviously. Jump into the water. Now go to the Evolution menu. You can choose Hands & Feet now. Do it and go to "Try to Evolve", which makes you into a better fish. Then go to body and "Evolve Further." Keep doing this to get better and better and you'll finally be the best...a mermaid! Pretty cool I guess. Anyway, you'll have to swim across a really long level, at least really long for this game. You'll eventually run into a cave with the Rogons. Small talk ensues, then you explore the cave. After finding the exit (which isn't that hard, trust me), you'll face a boss. BOSS: KING ROGON ================ This battle is the hardest. If you evolved into the mermaid, which I highly recommend, this battle is a blow off. If not, just keep swimming around and biting, while dodging his occasional attacks. The one where you can only see him inside the light circle is a little tricky, but you can handle it. ======== END BOSS After his defeat, some cutscenes happen with the whale. Domain of Tyrasaurus 03.05o ========================================================================== NOTE: You have to go through the transporter again. This really sucks. Apparently, the great one that everyone keeps talking about saved the tyrasaurus and made them an important ancestor. I'm really getting tired of the "great one" and his crystal business. It's destroying the world. You might not want to fight the tyrasaurus; it's just safe to jump and avoid them if you can. Entrance of Eden 03.05p ========================================================================== We are so close to Eden! Apparently, the "great one" has left a monkey human reject to block the entrance to Eden, and to halt our progress. We can't let this evolved ape defeat us! BOSS: CRO-MAINE =============== This guy is hard hitter. The first thing I recommend is to run up to him as fast as you can and just bite him. Do it fast or he'll hit you, which will probably kill you. He won't move until you get near him, then he swings his club at you. If you succeed in hitting him, he'll probably jump and try to land on you. Just move over a bit, quickly turn to face him, and bite him right when he lands; it should knock him back. He'll jump again, and you should follow that same easy attack when he lands. This will interrupt him when he tries to do the club attack after landing. Keep up the pattern and you'll win easily. If you screw up, just try to avoid the club and wait until he jumps at you. ======== END BOSS Afterwards, enter the cave after grabbing the spoils. If you don't have the Fierce Jaws and the Rhinocerus body by now, you need them. You're foolish if you don't. Head to the right and go up the elevator. Keep moving and you'll find Dino-people. Go up the first elevator you reach, then go right more. Skip the next one you see, then take the following one down; or you can keep going to find a dead end with a green crystal. After taking the elevator, and only take it down once, then head to the right to the end. Take this elevator down once, then head left to the next elevator. Take it up once and head down the left hallway to reach a big room. Walk on over to the broken pot and you'll be sucked into the whirlwind. Bolbox's Domain 03.05q ========================================================================== After a scene, you meet Bolbox, the "strongest creature in the world." This is the final battle, so be prepared! FINAL BOSS: BOLBOX ================== Bolbox looks like a gigantic, weird jelly type creature. He has a green thing sticking off him that has little tentacle objects on it. This is what you want to attack. After a few good attacks, he will release one of the orbs that he has floating around inside him. They release differents things, and they are randomly released, so here is a list of what they are. Light Blue Orb: FOOD This is the easiest of them all, obviously. Just eat the food for health and EVO points. Red Ridged Orb: GIANT PROFASU The roach thing is back! Not too difficult to take on, just bite it. It'll start flying so move in for the attack when you can. It gets really repetitive and the only annoying factor is how much health the roach has. Orange Spiked Orb: GIANT PROSAURO This one I had trouble with, only because the prosauro was usually next to Bolbox and I couldn't reach him. And also because the yelling would halt my movement. Basically, don't let it scream or you'll be hurting. Attack it constantly as you can. Solid White Orb: IKUSTEGA It runs away. Nothing to it. Green Dotted Orb: GIANT ZINICHTHYS Just try your best to bite it. It'll fall to the ground, thus you should try to keep biting it and pin it on the ground. It's probably one of the harder enemies you fight. Purple Crater Orb: REB BIRD SWORDMAN Pin him up against the wall if you can, and just unleash a flurry of bites. Blue Ripple Orb: JELLYFISH Attack it three times and it gets gigantic. Just keep jumping and hitting as it hardly tries to do much. Yellow Rough Orb: DEBUSTEGA Arguably, I had the hardest time with this one. It just kept spitting at me and my strongest attack was to bite, so I kept doing that. Stomp on it if you can and don't let it hit you. Bolbox was aggressive this round though; that was probably the source of difficulty. After defeating all the creatures and things thrown at you, attack Bolbox's green weak spot a few last times. ============== END FINAL BOSS He'll finally start disintegrating and you will have succeeded. Gaia will call upon you one last time for thanks, and she will take you to Eden. Many more events will unfold and you will at last have survived the trial. You are one of the fittest, having been through "survival of the fittest." And you have made it to Eden. <==============> |:::THE END:::| <==============> ________________________________ | | O===================| |===================O | Evolution | 04.00 O===================| |===================O |________________________________| This is where I give you a general overview of the types of evolution. Sorry, but I don't have official charts or anything about each evolution, but this should help you a bit. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Jaws 04.01 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Jaws give you the better ability of biting. Though you can bite right off the bat in the game, getting better jaws is definitely a must, unless you want to be a weakling later on in the game. You'll get trampled on without some increase in strength, so remember to try and get the best jaws you can. Later on, you can use the Back of the Head evolutions to help you get better strength and speed for a longer lasting time, but don't just get those; remember the jaws are where the main stuff comes from. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Horns 04.02 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o The horns are just a big pathetic waste. Don't even waste your precious EP on these, unless you're looking for a challenge. A lot of horns will break within about 3 times attacking; the ones that don't are probably the only decent ones anyway, like the Angler's Horn which only attracts things. So yeah, don't waste your EP unless you get something like the Angler's Horn. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Neck 04.03 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o The neck is good for a trick I found out in the game. It's also good for later in the game, but the trick helps a lot. If you don't want to "cheat" then skip this section. For such a cheap price, you can shorten or extend your neck. These don't really do much use until later on; but when you go through evolution like this, your Life Points will be restored. This will help you when you are on the verge of death; it's an automatic life refiller. Considering the cheapness of this evolution, it's best to do this trick with it. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Body 04.04 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o This gives you your main advantages and disadvantages. Depending on which bodies you evolve into, your speed will increase or decrease, your strength will do the same, and so on and so on. More low priced bodies are the speed-oriented ones, but they have less strength and thus take damage a lot easier. The higher-priced ones are the strength-oriented ones, which is basically the opposite of the speed ones. There isn't an exact body that averages these skills out, so it's best to just figure out whether you are a strength person or a speed person. My recommendation, though, is that later on towards the end of the game, you try to get the strength-oriented bodies. Speed won't matter a lot then. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Hands and Feet 04.05 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o Not as worthless as the horns, but pretty worthless still. You won't need to be purchasing much of this as the default of what you have is pretty much sufficient enough to get by in the game. If you really want to, though, then go for it. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Dorsal Fin 04.06 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o You definitely won't care much about this once you are out of the watery areas of the game. When you become a land creature, this won't matter at all. In general, this only provides better speed and jumping for when you are a fish or amphibian. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Tail 04.07 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o This is basically the exact same as the Dorsal Fin; needed in the beginning, thrown aside whenever you become a mammal. It increases speed and jumping; it's best to max this out when you are in the beginning, like the Dorsal Fin. o------------------------------------------------------------------------o | Back of the Head 04.08 | o------------------------------------------------------------------------o I already mentioned this onces in the Jaws section. This is basically a good supplier of speed and strength; it is highly recommended later on and is better than the Jaws at certain points. It is a great evolution thing to have, so be sure to spend your EP on this. ________________________________ | | O===================| |===================O | Credits | 05.00 O===================| |===================O |________________________________| Thanks to Enix for making this game.
