Game Codes ----------------------------------------------------------------------- At the Game Select screen, press LRRLRRLRLR, now at the code entry enter any of the following codes: LIVES - Gives you 50 lives ASAVE - Autosaves after every level ERASE - Erases the best time for Riverside Race MUSIC - Music Test TUFST - No continue barrels MERRY - Bonus levels have Christmas music COLOR - Changes colors of Dixie and Kiddy HARDR - No DK Barrels! WATER - Enter this code, then go to the one waterfall west of where you start, there will now be a secret cave, win Simon Says to get all 85 bonus coins! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Bannana Bird List ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You must beat a simon says game to get most of the 15 birds. Arich's Hoard - Beat Riverside Race in less than the 1:15:00. Then go to Brash's Cabin. He will get mad, shake the world, and a bridge will appear below Bobbing Barrel Brawl. Cross the bridge to Arich's Hoard. Kaos Kone - When you get to the pond, do a figure 8 around the two rocks and the closed drainage pipe. The grate will open. Enter the pipe to get a Banana Bird. Kong Cave - Go to the beach behind Bazaars general store with the hovercraft. Bounty Beach - Take the hovercraft or motor boat to reach it. It's in the right of your screen facing Funky's rentals. Smugglers Cove - In Lake Orangatanga, swim under the bridge, up to the top of the screen. Barnacle's Island - Trade a shell for a bird. Undercover Cove - You need the TURBO SKI to get to this secret cave. When you have the ski, jump to the upper lake behind Kong Cave via the waterfall. Glacial Grotto - In the k3, go to the Blizzard's Basecamp and press Left to reveal a cave. Sky-High Secret - Go to k3, then go to the Blizzard's Basecamp and get the present. Leave this world and go to Cotton-Top Cove, then enter Blue's Beach Hut. Give Blue the present and he will give you a bowling ball. Next go to Mekanos and enter Bazooka's Barracks. Give Bazooka the bowling ball and choose option 1 ("Lock and Load, sir!") If you did this right you'll be fired off to the Sky-High secret. Bounty Bay - In Cotton-Top Cove, go to the first lake. Go to the waterfall and on the right is a cave to Bounty Bay. Enter Bounty Bay and get a Banana Bird. Cliff Top Cache - At Barter Swap Shop, trade your mirror for the wrench. Then go to Bjorn's Chair lifts and give him the wrench. His chair lifts will start working and you can take them across to Cliff Top Cache. Bramble's Bungalow - After beating the game a flower will grow on the path above Bramble's Bungalow. Grab it and take it to Bramble. He will thank you with a Banana Bird. Hilltop Hoard - After getting the Gyrocoptor, fly to the cliff next to Razor Ridge. Enter to get the Banana Bird. Belcha's Burrow - With the Gyrocopter, fly straight down from Kong Cave. Enter to get the Banana Bird. K's Kache - Using the Gyrocopter, fly up to the lake above Cotton-top Cove. There will be a small island on it. Land on the island to win a Banana Bird. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. The Brothers Bear ----------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 13 bears all found in the various worlds, they all help you in your quest so talk to them all! Here they are...in alphabetical order of course! Baffle - He is trying to solve a puzzle, but he can't quite figure it out, can you help him? Barnacle - This bear collects shells, but he is missing only one shell in his collection, if only someone would go buy it for him at the shop... Barter - This bear runs a swap shop, give him something, to get something in return...it's not always good though... Bazaar - He sells items, once those are all bought, he sells information, you will need to visit him frequently! Bazooka - This war vetran wants to fire Ol' Bessie one last time, unfortunatly he has no ammo, poor guy, maybe you can get him some! Benny `n Bjorn: They operate chair lifts, Benny's works, but Bjorn. well...his doesn't, poor dude, can you fix it for him? Blizzard - this bear can't deliver a present to his friend, can you? Blue - poor blue! he is so sad, his calendar has a circled date, but it's "nothing important" how can you cheer this poor bear up? Gifts always work... Blunder - This bear snuck a peek at nintendo power's video game guide...seriously! he gives you hints about finding Krematoa, but with my guide, who needs that stupid bear! Boomer - He's in Krematoa, and he has a Cog machine, but no cogs, too bad...oh yah, he also will blow up stuff...for a price. Bramble - this bear just LOVES flowers, but since they don't grow anymore he has grown an intrest in bannana birds, if only you had a flower... Brash - His record of 1:15:00 in riverside race is 'unbeatable'...let's see what Dixie and Kiddy have to say about that! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Walkthrough ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ***********************************************************************************************LAKE ORANGUTANGA******************************* *********************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Level One: Lakeside Limbo ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a very easy stage, and it should be, it's the first level! Just make your way through the stage at your desired pace, and stop along the way to get the items. The first bonus barrel is quite obvious, near the start, there is a crack in the wood dock, next to a kremling. Kill the kremling, and use your team throw to break the crack in the floor(Use Kiddy) Now you will be in the first bonus level. * Bonus Level One * Type: Collect The Stars! # Of Stars: 50 Time: 20 Seconds This is pretty simple, jump on the rope, grab the first few stars, then just drop down and collect the rest of the stars, the coin will appear on the right. Now, keep going through the level until you reach the O, drop down from where the O is to find Koin, just throw the barrel behind him, collect the DK Koin he left, and move along until you reach the N. Jump into the water, and swim until you find the bonus barrel, pass it and jump up to get an Green Balloon(It's invisible), then go back and jump in the Bonus Barrel. * Bonus Level 2 * Type: Collect The Bannanas # Of Bannanas: 15 Time: 30 Seconds This is a little different than the stars, because the bannanas appear one at a time, collect one, and another will appear. This is all pretty simple for this bonus game, the coin will appear below on the right. Just keep on going...your almost there, you wil find an animal crate, break it to get Ellie, the elephant. Pick up the barrel with her trunk, and hit the huge turkey-like bird to get the G, just before the No Animal sign jump off the edge to the left, then press X to dismount, you will collect a Blue Balloon! Now cross the no animal sign to get a Bear Coin, then jump on the rope to finish! Bear Coin Locations: #1: Cross the No Animal Sign With Ellie. #2: At the very end, team throw up to the small roof to get a bear coin. #3: near the midway point, just after the DK coin, team throw up to the roofing to collect a Bear coin! #4: Just to the right of #3! Extra Lives: #1: At the start, team throw up to the roof on the left to get a red balloon #2: At the start, team throw up to the roof on the RIGHT to get a red balloon #3: Right in between Bear coins 3 and 4 is a red baloon #4: To the right of the second bonus barrel is a green baloon(see walkthrough) #5: Before the no animal sign, there is a blue balloon(see walkthrough) #6: and finally, at the end, right next to bear coin #2 there is a red balloon That's a total of 4 bear coins, and 9 extra lives you can get in the level, as well as 1 DK Coin and 2 Bonus coins, get them ALL before you move on! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Level Two: Doorstop Dash ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yet another straightforward level, just make your way along the stage, sometimes you'll go up, sometimes left, sometimes down, sometimes right. You get the idea. To progress through the level you'll need to open up the chain doors, to open them, pull on the pullys to raise the doors, then run AFAYK to the door and through. Thus the name - Doorstop Dash. Make your way through the level until you come to a rope(the first one) and instead of going up the rope, go left. You need both Dixie and Kiddy for this part, be Dixie and throw Kiddy up to the pully above, now glide across and through the door to reach the first bonus level! * Bonus Level 3 * Type: Collect The Stars! # Of Stars: 60 Time: 30 Seconds Very simple, just collect all the stars in the the room to the right, then grab the pully, go to the left room and collect all the stars there, grab the pully in this room, and go to the right room again, the bonus coin will be there! Once you return to the level, go up the rope and continue through the stage normally until you come to the halfway point(Continue Barrel) hit it and you will be on a pully, now jump up onto the rising platform, then go right through the door, now you will need to use a barrel to reach this pully, quite simple, move along...now there should be a rope, go up it. you now have to choices, left, and right. Go right, grab the pully while avoiding the bee, enter the door, jump in bonus barrel! * Bonus Level 4 * Type: Find The Coin! Time: 20 Seconds This is very simple, there are 2 bees, a huge gap, and a row of pully's, however there is no door. I think you know what to do to reach the coin, if not please stop wasting your time, stop reading this FAQ, stop playing this game, and don't even think about e-mailing me asking what game you are playing! Now go to the left, and continue on through the level. After you have found the G, you should come upon a huge chasm. If you have dixie at this point, make sure you are her, if not that's ok...I guess.... Allright either fall down the chasm, or float(depending on which character you are) to the LEFT, you will land on a platform, move to the left to find a keg, pully, a platform in mide air, a door on the plat form, and Koin underneath the platform..Here, let me show you what i Mean.... | | | | | __________| |__| | Koin Yes it's a pretty bad drawing but it will do for here, as you can see you need to grab the pully, then pick up the barrel and throw it through the opened door, it will hit off the wall, and crash into coin, you can now get the DK Koin! now jump off, or float to the right all the way down. you are now at the exit! Bear Coin Locations: #1: Near Bonus Level 4, above the rat. #2: Right near the start, near a door, use your team throw to reach it. Extra Lives: #1: At the very end, there is a green balloon in midair, easier to get if you float down with Dixie! #2: There is one red balloon in midair that is invisible, near the first bonus stage. #3: Right next to the first bonus barrel there is a red balloon. That's a total of 2 bonus coins, one DK coin, 2 bear coins, and 4 extra lives. Get them all before moving on... *********************************************************************** *****************************Lake Orangutana*************************** *********************************************************************** Now you can save your game at wrinkly's, so save, then enter the water. Swim underneath the dock until you find a sandy colored, very small beach. Press B to open up a hidden cove. Enter it, and win a game of Simon Says to get your first bannana bird! Now exit, and take notice of the small island in the middle of the water - Barnacle's Island. You will need to return here later. Now swim up to the next level! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Level Three: Tidal Trouble ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This level is a bit harder than the first two, but not by much, the DK coin is extremly easy to get, just team throw at the start, grab the barrel, and throw it at the wall behind Koin! Like taking candy from a baby...now make your way through the level...when you come to the O, jump into the water and swim into the enguarde barrel. Now Supercharge, and let go, you will slash through all the enimies and into a bonus barrel! * Bonus Level Five * Type: Collect The Stars! # Of Stars: 25 Time: 20 Seconds Very simple, Charge once, let go of A, move to top of water, Charge left. Now Charge right again to get the Bonus Coin! Now keep going through the level...until you reach the N(It's inside a booty bird) Now kill the barrel baddie there, and switch to dixie if you have her. Get a running start, twirl off the edge, jump, and helicopter spin to reach a bonus barrel! If you have Kiddy, execute his water flip move(roll, hit b when you hit the water) to reach it with kiddy, now enter the bonus area! * Bonus Level Six * Type: Bash The Baddies! # Of Baddies To Bash: 4 Time: 10 Is it just me, or are these bonus levels way too easy? just jump on the 4 enimies using the rope, then drop down to collect the coin...i've done this three times while sleeping and 40 times with my eyes closed, you should be able to do this with them open....either that or you suck. Allright, move along, and just zoom through the rest of the level, your done, yeehaw. Controls ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -Dixie- A: Team Up B: Jump Y: Run, Helicopter Spin X: Jump Off Animal Buddy Select: Switch To Kiddy Control Stick: Move -Kiddy- A: Team Up B: Jump Y: Run, Roll X: Jump Off Animal Buddy Select: Switch To Kiddy Control Stick: Move *Special Move* Roll into the water, hold Y, and when you hit press B to skip over the water like a rock. -Eliie- B: Jump Y: Run, Grab barrel R: Shoot Water A: Shoot Water L: Suck Up Water From Water Source Control Stick: Move -Enguarde- Y: Swim Fast, Stab Enimies A: SuperStab Control Stick: Move -Squitter- A: Spin Web Platform B: Jump Y: Fire Webbing L: Spin Web Platform R: Spin Web Platform Control Stick: Move -Squawks- B: Flap Wings Y: Pick up barrel(purple), shoot eggs(green) -Perry- No controls needed for him, when you jump he jumps with you, he can kill booty birds, but if he touches anything else he will die. When you have him you need to execute your jumps so both you and perry make it past enemy(s) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Items ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a listing of the items in the game. Bannanas, Bannana Bunches: Each bannana is worth 1, a bunch is worth 10. Collect 100 Bannanas total to get an extra life! Red, Blue, Green Balloons: These balloons are worth an extra life, red is worth one, blue is worth 2, and green is worth 3! K-O-N-G Letters: Collect all 4 of these letters to get an extra life, They are found in order. I.E. if you have the 'O' but not the K, you need to go back. Animal Crate: Open this to find an animal buddy inside! No Animal Sign: Cross this sign with the animal shown, and your animal buddy will dissapear! However, you will get an item for this! Bear Coin: Use these to pay the brothers bear, and swanky. Bonus Coin: Once you beat a bonus level, this is what you get! Use these to pay Boomer! DK Hero Coin: There is one of these in each level guarded by Koin, there are 41 of them total. Collect them all to get the gyrocopter! Rope And Flag: These are at the end of the level, pull on the rope to raise the flag and beat the level! * Barrels Will Be Covered In A Later Section * ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. FAQ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q. I head something about getting 105%...is this possible to get? A. Actually, yes it is, enter the cheat code 'TUFST'(see above for more details) at the start of a new file, then once you beat the game you will have 105%, that is...if you got everything. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Tips, Tricks, Codes ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonus Demo Once you got all the banana birds, go to "Wrinkly's Save Cave." When you arrive, the banana birds will fly you up to the Giant Cloud where the Mama Bird lives. They will set her free and a surprise demo will play. Now you can look for birds. Once you get all the birds go up to the sky and the mother bird will ask you if you have all the birds. She will give you something. Submitted by john61590 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost World To find the Lost World, you must go to the four rocks which make the shape of a circle. Using the jet ski, travel around the rocks (not the individual rocks but the whole circle of rocks) counter-clockwise until you hear a noise. The Lost World of Krematoa will appear in the light blue circle in the water between the rocks. Just before the bonus, do your "team throw" upwards. You should end up in a place with an exclamation mark and bananas. Go through there to end up at the end of the level.
