Introduction ============================================================================== Back in 1995 Squaresoft made what some hail to be the greatest RPG of all time, Chrono Trigger. The game deals with travel between time from the past to present, and even the future. You play as Crono, a young man that's traveling through time to save his friends, and more importantly, the world. If you love RPG's and are ready to experience a unique game that surpasses most others, then be sure to give this classic a go! ============================================================================== II. Version History ============================================================================== Version: FINAL - Everything is 100% fully complete ============================================================================== III. Game Basics / Information and Tips ============================================================================== Controls -------- Control Pad: Used to move your character on the screen Start: Use to pause your game Select: If your on the World Map, use this to veiw the entire map A Button: Open chests/objects, talk to people, enter different places on the World Map B Button: Use to run (Note: This does not work on the World Map) X Button: Opens menu Y Button: Change party members or check time if you are in the Epoch L Button: Hold this along with the R Button to run in a battle R Button: Hold this along with the L Button to run in a battle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Techs ----- Techs, or techniques, are special attacks or magic a character uses in battle to cause lots of damage. Each character starts out with one, but more can be gained. To gain more Techs you will need to fight many Battles. At the end of most Battles, you will receive a set amount of Tech Points. Once that amount reaches the specified number in your menu, (check the Tech section in your menu to find how many Tech Points are needed) you will obtain another Tech for that character. You also may notice that in the beginning of the game, you can only gain two Techs with a character and no more. Why you ask? Well, I don't want to spoil anything for you yet, but you will eventually meet a character in the game who gives every character a special element (see Characters and Techs section for more information). With the new element you can begin learning ALL your Techs. Once each character has a specific Tech skill learned, you may begin to perform Dual Techs with those characters. Dual Techs are when two characters combine their Tech skills, to use an even stronger move. There are also Triple Techs, in which THREE characters use their moves to dish out a devastating attack. For more information on Tech names and descriptions, check the Characters and Techs section. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Status Effects -------------- Status Effects are harmful effects enemies can use on you during battle. These effects may hinder your performance by letting you not use techs/magic, or decreasing your hit rate. To cure these harmful effects, you will need to use either a certain type of item or tech. Here is a quick list of the effects and what they do. Blind: Character is blinded and their hit percentage goes down Chaos: Your character will become confused attacking random enemies or allies Lock: Prevents you from using techs/magic Poison: Causes your HP to gradually decrease Sleep: Causes your character to fall asleep preventing you from attacking Slow: Decreases your speed making time in between attacks longer Stop: Cannot move or use items ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Menu Screens ------------ By pressing the X button during the game, you will see a Menu appear on the screen. From there, you can move left or right to select an option of your choice. To see what each one does, refer to the list below. Character Status / Equipment - This is the very first option, which is located on the very left. Here, you can equip your characters and check their stats. Item - To the right of the first option, is the second option; items. In this part of the menu, you will be able to scroll through the items you have, or use any items you want. (Note: Item must be highlighted in yellow for use in menu) Tech - Here, you will be able to view all of the techs you have learned. Also, by scrolling right at top, you can view the Double and Triple techs you have gained. Configuration - In this option, you can change various things to your preference, such as Message Speed, Window Color, etc. Order / Exchange - You can change the order of your party here. The character on top is the one that will appear as walking while playing. Saving - Probably one of the most important options. Here, you can save your data, but only if your at a save point, or on the World Map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tips ---- - Remember to save often. Better safe then sorry. - Be sure to have plenty of healing items. You may be left in bad condition after some battles, with nowhere to heal. - If you are stuck on a boss fight, try leveling up a couple of levels before re-attempting it again. Gaining levels works wonders. - Get all the chests in every area you go to. Sometimes you may find a helpful item or a new piece of powerful equipment. - Take your time and enjoy the game. Do the side-quests, level up, and just have fun. ============================================================================== IV. Walkthrough ============================================================================== After starting a new file you will be given the choice to choose between Active and Wait for your battle settings. If you are new to the game, or RPG's for that matter, I suggest you choose Wait. Choosing Wait lets you think about the attacks you could use and it takes you through the battles slower and easier. On the other hand, if you have played this game before or you are an experienced RPG player, you should choose the Active setting. In the Active setting, the enemy hits you whether or not you are ready to attack, and the battles are more fast paced. For me, I chose Active because I like the challenge and fast paced battles, but it's up to you. After choosing the one that best suites you, you get a chance to name the main character, Crono. When you are finished naming him, you see a short cut scene where the Millenial Fair is opening and there are also fireworks going off and balloons floating everywhere. The game then shifts the scene to Crono's room. ============================================================================== Location: Crono's House Suggested Level: 1 Items: 200G ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ You begin the game by hearing your mother calling you, and waking you up. She opens the curtains and tells you to behave at the Millenial Fair. Crono then gets out of bed and you have control of him. Follow his mother down the stairs where you meet her at the bottom. She tells you that your friend Lucca (which you get to name) wants you to stop by to see her invention. When she finishes talking be sure to talk to her again to receive 200G which is your allowance. Head out of the house and into the World Map. You can do one of two things here. You can either head to the Millenial Fair to keep the story moving, or visit the Mayor's Manor, which is located south at the end of the bunch of houses. I suggest visiting the Manor to add a couple items to your inventory and learn a few tips from the locals. ============================================================================== Location: Mayor's Manor Suggested Level: 1 Items: Tonic, 100G, 300G ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ The house is packed full of people with lots of information. Listen to everyone to gain valuable advice. Downstairs, get the Tonic in the chest next to the woman. Upstairs, listen to the man's advice then talk to him once more to receive 300G. After collecting the money, open the chest behind him to get 100G. When your finished getting the items and listening to everyone, head north to Leene Square where the Millenial Fair is being held. ============================================================================== Location: Leene Square Suggested Level: 1 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops ===== Weapons Shop Armor Shop Item Shop Weapon | Price Armor | Price Item | Price ------------------- ----------------------- ----------------- Iron Blade - 350G Karate Gi - 350G Tonic - 10G Lode Sword - 4000G Bronze Helmet - 200G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Upon entering Leene Square, you'll notice it's packed full of people. In the center you should see a bunch of people racing in a circle. That is just one of the many fair games you can play (Note: Winning at any of the games results in you receiving Silver Points. Silver Points are not Gold, although they can be exchanged for money). To the left is a hammer/bell contest, and to the right is the Carnival of Horrors. Once you've had your fill with the games, you should talk to Melchior (hes standing where the swords are) and pick up an Iron Blade. After getting the blade, head to the left and talk to the man in the tent to pick up a Karate Gi. Equip your new items on Crono, sell your old stuff, then head up to the next area. When you enter the area, you should see a girl in a white outfit running around. Walk towards her and you two will collide into each other. The force from the impact sends her Pendant flying. Apologize to her first, then retrieve her Pendant for her. She tells you her name is Marle, and asks if she could walk with you for a while. Accept her offer to get her to join you. After doing so, there are a few more things you should do before going to see Lucca's invention. Head to the left side of the area and you will see a pink bag. Don't touch it because it effects the outcome of an event later in the game. To the right of the bag should be a cat. Talk to it to get it to follow you. It's owner, a little girl, is on the opposite side from you so head all the way to the right until you see her. Give the cat to her and she and Marle will thank you. After your done giving the cat to the girl, go back towards where the pink bag was and head up to another area of the park. You will come across a robot named Gato. This is a great place to get used to the battle system and gain experience, since the robot allows you to fight him. I recommend you stay here until Crono and Marle reach level 2 and learn their first Techs. When your done having all your fun with the robot, exchange the Silver Points you earned for money (at the purple tent in the second area). When you receive the money head South to the first area of the park and buy a Karate Gi for Marle. Another important task you should do is talk to Melchior again. He will ask for you to sell Marle's Pendant, but tell him no. At this point, you should get a message on the screen that tells you Lucca's invention is ready. To reach the invention, just go directly North through the park. Just before you enter the invention area, Marle stops you and asks if she could buy some candy. When she is buying the candy, do not move around as this will also effect an event later in the game. When she is done buying her candy, go into the new area. You will see Taban, who is Lucca's father, asking for people to try his daughters new "Super Dimension Warp" machine. Talk to Lucca and she will ask Crono to try it out for her. When Crono's done, Marle thought it looked cool so she decides she wants to try it to. All is going smoothly until she steps on the Telepod. Her Pendant starts to shine, and then it opens a time warp which she falls in to. No one knows where she went, but her Pendant is still on the Telepod. With Crono, grab it and Lucca and Taban will start the machine again. Just before you fly through the warp that Marle fell through, Lucca tells you that she will follow you when she finds out what went wrong. You'll then be warped to Truce Canyon. ============================================================================== Location: Truce Canyon Suggested Level: 2 Items: Tonic, Power Glove ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you arrive, you will be in a small spot with bushes around you. Move forward and 3 Blue Imps will attack. Easily defeat them and head left. Climb up the ladder and go over the bridge. Before you can go anywhere, 2 more Blue Imps will confront you. Finish them off and grab the chest to the left which contains a Tonic. Next, head South and grab the Power Glove item out of the chest. Equip it on Crono to give him a small power boost. Head down the ladder and defeat the 2 Blue Imps and Roly to reach the World Map. When your on the World Map, you will notice its darker than usual and there is also different music playing. This is because you are now in the 600 A.D. time period. To learn more information about the new place, head to the houses and speak to the people there. Before moving on, you should take a rest in the inn, stock up on items, and save your game. When your ready to go, head to the left of the village and into Guardia Forest. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Forest Suggested Level: 2 Items: Power Tab, Shelter ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Guardia Forest is a small forest blocking the path to Guardia Castle, preventing direct access. It's not very long nor challenging, and you can even pick up a few items along the way. Begin by heading north and taking a left at the fork. You should be confronted by 3 Blue Eaglets. Defeat them and head north until you see a bush rustling. Check it out, and 2 Roly Riders should attack you. Destroy them both and move right a couple of steps. You should notice another rustling bush. Observe it, and a monster will jump out and run away, leaving behind a shelter. Continue right and you will get attacked by 3 Rolys. Quickly finish them off and begin heading south, only to get attacked by more enemies. After finishing off the enemies, head south then east a few steps and you should see a flashing blue dot. Press the A Button while standing next to it to receive a Power Tab. Once you have it, go in a north west direction until you reach the top part of Guardia Forest. At the top, you will be attacked by some Roly Riders. Easily finish them, and head up and out of the forest. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Castle Suggested Level: 3 Items: 100G, Bronze Mail, Ether x2 ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter Guardia Castle, two soldiers will stop you and begin insulting you. Before the soldiers can say anymore, Queene Leene enters the room and invites you into the castle. Follow her to the back where you can meet the King. He thanks you for saving his wife, the Queen, and tells you she has lost her Coral Pin. At the end of the conversation, he allows you to rest in the Knights Quarters which are downstairs to the left. You should take him up on his offer, as you can regain your health after fighting those battles in Guardia Forest. After your rest, there are a few things you should do. If you want, you can visit the kitchen which is in the basement on the opposite side of you. There, you can eat some of the castles food, and talk to the chef. Your first task, though, should be to head up the stairs on the left side of the King. When you reach the second level, grab the chest there which contains 100G. Keep running up the stairs until you reach the top. Once at the top, talk to the left guard standing outside of the door, to learn that the Chancellor has been acting strange lately. After your done talking to him, head into the room and grab the Bronze Mail out of the chest. Equip the armor on Crono, then speak to the maid standing by the table. When your finished talking to everyone, go back down the stairs to the Throne Room (where the King is). When you reach the Throne Room, go up the stairs on the right side of the King this time. On the second level, there is another chest containing a Tonic. Take it and proceed up the steps. At the top, talk to the guard and he will let you pass into the Queens room. Talk to the Queen, and she will reveal herself as Marle. She thanks you for coming after her, then starts acting strangely. She tells you that she feels like she is being torn apart, then she starts changing colors. In a blink of an eye, she vanishes and is nowhere to be seen. Before exiting the room, take the Ether out of the chest. Exit the Queens room and talk to the group of people outside. When your finished, go back down the stairs. When you reach the bottom, you will hear someone shouting your name. It's Crono's friend, Lucca, who comes running onto the screen asking if you found Marle yet. She then rambles on about how she had seen Marle somewhere before, and how the castle looks the same as in their time. You will then see a short clip about how Marle is a descendant of Queen Leene, and is Princess Nadia in their time. Lucca will then explain the situation, and tell you that you must find Queen Leene before Marle disappears from time totally. After Lucca joins your party, head to the Kitchen in the basement again to find an Ether in a chest. When your done getting the item, it may be a good time to rest in the Knights Quarters. When your fully healed and ready to go, head to the World Map and back into Guardia Forest. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Forest Suggested Level: 3 Items: Shelter ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Since this is your second time in the area you should be pretty familiar with it. Head south while defeating the enemies in your path. Be sure to get the Shelter which is in the same spot as last time (observe the bush that is rustling). This is also a good time to gain a couple of levels since Lucca is a new addition to your party, and you will be facing your first boss soon. When you reach the World Map, go back to the Market and buy a Dart Gun and Bronze Helm for Lucca. Sell Lucca's old stuff, then head over to the Truce Inn and take a little rest. When your done resting, stock up on items and save your game. When your ready to go, head west past Guardia Forest to enter the Cathedral. ============================================================================== Location: Cathedral Suggested Level: 5 Items: 100G, Speed Belt, Steel Saber, Naga-ette Bromide, Tonic x3, Revive, Heal, Ether x2, Mid Ether, Shelter, Iron Sword, Maiden Suit, Defender, Power Tab ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the Cathedral, you will notice there are a couple of Nuns standing around. Talk to the one by the Organ, and a flashing blue dot will appear to the right of you. Press the A Button next to it and Lucca will pick up a Hairpin. The four Nuns will then surround you and transform into Naga- ettes. To easily win the battle, keep pummeling them with Crono and Lucca's Dual Tech, Fire Whirl. Lucca feels relieved when the battle is over, but another Naga-ette appears and tries to grab her. Suddenly, a Frog with a cape and sword jumps from above and destroys the enemy. He then asks if you would accompany him into the 'lair'. Accept his offer and he will introduce himself as Frog. Once he is in your party, walk over to the organ and play it. Upon doing so, it reveals a hidden door in the wall. Once it's revealed, enter it. When you enter the new area, take a left down the hallway. Fight the Diablos in your way to reach a Tonic and Revive that are in the two chests. After getting the items, head left then up until you reach a set of stairs. Go up the stairs and into the first door. Inside are 3 chests containing a Maiden Suit, Tonic, and Ether. Equip the Maiden Suit on Lucca so you can raise her defense. Before leaving, observe the mirror sitting on the dresser. This is the secret Naga-ette Bromide. Once you take it, 3 Henches will enter the room. Defeat them and head back into the hallway. From the room you where in, go right then up to find a chest with a Steel Saber in it. Equip the new sword on Crono, then take a few steps to the left. You should see a doorway guarded by spikes. To lower them, touch the glowing skull on the left side of the door. Once the spikes are lowered, enter the room. Inside, are two soldiers who will tell you a little about the place. After your done speaking to them, inspect the bucket on the left side of the room to receive a Power Tab. When you exit the room, go down the stairs you came up earlier, and take a right to cross the hallway. Defeat the Diablos and Gnashers that try and attack you. When you reach the other side, head up the stairs and into the door. Inside are three monsters eating. Talk to the Diablo and he will exit the room. Follow him out of the door and around the balcony, to the door above you. When you enter, you will see two chests. One contains 100G, the other an Ether. Before you can exit the room, the humans transform into Gnashers and attack you. Quikly defeat them, but DO NOT leave the room yet. Instead, look for an opening in the right wall. Enter it to find an area where a chorus of monsters is singing. Talk to the first Diablos you see to start a fight. Destroy the chorus of monsters that attack you, then grab the two chests which contain a Speed Belt and Defender. You should equip the Defender on Lucca, because she needs the defense, and the Speed Belt you can equip on whoever you would like. When your done getting the items, exit the two rooms to get back to the main room. When you reach the main room, head down the steps. Take a left and head up the center path while defeating any enemies in your path. Enter the door to find a save point. This is a good time to use a shelter and save your game. When you are ready, go up the stairs and take a left. Grab the chest at the end of the balcony to receive a Shelter. Try going down the stairs and they will drop causing you to fall down. Go into the door and straight ahead while fighting any enemies in your way. Outside of the second door, you should see a skull. Do not touch it, or it will make more enemies appear. So, just head into the door and fight the enemies that attack you. When you finish them off, grab the Tonic and Heal out of their chests. Just to the right of the chests should be a note saying 'No Entry'. After reading the note, go right and enter the door. Defeat the enemies inside, then observe the glowing skull to the left of the door. Triggering this switch causes the spikes in the center room to lower. So, follow the path down and around until you reach the door to the center room. Enter and a couple of Henches and Diablos will attack you. After the battle, take the Iron Sword out of the chest and equip it on Frog. When your done, play the organ to the left. Doing so, will open a secret door where you found that note earlier. So, head all the way back to where the note was and enter the door. Upon entering, defeat all the enemies in the room. After the enemies are gone, you'll notice that there is a save point in the top left corner. Once again, use a Shelter and save your game. After saving and healing, enter the room. When you enter, you will see the Chancellor and Queen Leene. The Queen runs behind you and then the Chancellor starts threatening everybody. He then steps in front of you and transforms into Yakra. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Yakra HP: 920 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This fight should not be too difficult. When the battle begins, start by hitting him with Crono and Frog's Dual Tech, X-Strike. This should cause about 150 HP of damage with each hit, which is good. Beware, though, because every time you hit him, he will counter by hitting everyone for about 15 HP. He also has an attack that can cause around 40 HP of damage. Just be safe, and keep an eye on your HP. If it gets to low, use Tonics to heal or Frog's Slurp Tech. To finish him off, keep using X-Strike or Fire Whirl and he should be gone in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When Yakra is defeated, Queen Leene runs into the room and thanks you for saving her. When she leaves, open the two chests to reveal the Real Chancellor and to get a Mid Ether. Talk to Leene by the door again, and she will tell you to return to the castle. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Castle Suggested Level: 7 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you return to the castle, you see a short scene where the King is looking at the Queen. Frog then proclaims that he failed to protect the Queen, then leaves the room. Follow him out of the room and talk to him. He will tell you that he is departing for good this time, and that you have potential to be a good swordsman. Once he leaves, return to the Throne Room and talk to Queen Leene. Lucca then tells you that Princes Nadia, who is Marle, should have reappeared in the place she vanished. So, head up the stairs to the right of the Queen. At the top, enter the Queens Room and Marle will reappear. They'll talk for a little while until Marle asks you a question. Choose the choice 'Wrong!' if you want to make her happy. After Marle rejoins the group, head back downstairs. Before leaving, take a snooze in the Knights Quarters to recover your HP. When you are ready to leave, head back into Guardia Forest. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Forest Suggested Level: 7 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Once again, begin by heading south and destroying the Rolys that attack you. After the battle, head south then east a little ways until you see a rustling bush. Observe it, and you will receive a Shelter. Once you have the item, make your way towards the exit to the south, fighting any enemies in your way. When you reach the World Map, head back to Truce Canyon, which is north of the Truce Inn. ============================================================================== Location: Truce Canyon Suggested Level: 7 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the area, destroy the enemies standing by the ladder. Once there out of the way, climb up the ladder. Before you can get very far, you get attacked by a Poly and Green Imp. Make quick work of them, then head across the bridge and down the ladder into the next area. When you reach the next area, Lucca uses her 'Gate' to open the time portal. Everyone jumps in, and is then transported back to Leene Square in present time. ============================================================================== Location: Leene Square Suggested Level: 7 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops ===== Weapons Shop Weapon | Price ------------------- Iron Blade - 350G Lode Sword - 4000G When you reach Leene Square, Marle asks Crono and Lucca to have dinner at the castle with her. Lucca can't go because she has some work to do, so Crono is left to take Marle home. When you have control of Crono, head south into the next area. All of the mini-games that were here previously are still here. So, if you want to play any games feel free too (Note: Remember when your done playing, exchange your silver points for gold). When your ready to leave, head directly south to reach the World Map. When your on the World Map, you should stop by the market. There, you should buy Marle an Iron Bow and Maiden Suit. Equip them on her and sell her old stuff. When your ready, head to Guardia Forest which is west of the Market. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Forest Suggested Level: 7 Items: Power Tab ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter Guardia Forest, begin by going right at the fork in the path, then head south. Defeat the Hetakes, and you'll notice a flashing blue dot in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Inspect it to receive a Power Tab. After receiving the item, head north and defeat the Beetles that confront you. After the battle, head in a north west direction while fighting any enemies that you come across. When you reach the top, head north out to the World Map. Once your on the World Map, enter Guardia Castle. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Castle Suggested Level: 8 Items: Shelters x4, Mid Tonic x10, Ether x3, Bronze Mail, 1500 gold, Lode Sword, Mid Ether x6 ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the castle, the Chancellor will run into the room asking if Marle is all right. He then accuses Crono of kidnapping Princess Nadia. Marle tries to tell him otherwise, but he just won't listen. After some more conversation, a group of blue soldiers run into the room and detain Crono. The scene then switches to a court room with a judge and the Chancellor standing beside him. There is also a lawyer, who's name is Pierre, standing to the right of the judge. Now, remember all those things I told you to do at the fair that would determine a later event? Well, this is the event. Anyways, after a few seconds they bring in Crono who has been accused of abducting Princess Nadia. The Chancellor and lawyer will exchange conversation, then the Chancellor will begin asking you questions. Answer truthfully to all of them. When he is finished asking you questions, your lawyer will start to bring in defendants (such as the little girl you gave the cat to) to defend you, depending on what you did at the fair. After more questioning, the jury will start casting votes of either 'Guilty' or 'Not Guilty'. Guilty or not, Crono still gets 3 days of solitary confinement for running away with Marle. The blue guards come back in to take Crono away, but Marle interrupts by running into the court room. She barely even gets to speak and Crono gets shipped away by the guards. When you wake up in the jail cell, you'll notice there is a pink bag (it will only be there if you were innocent) which contains an Ether. There is also a cup in the corner of the room you should drink from, to restore your HP and MP. After doing so, you should save your game at the save point. Now, there are two options open to you; you can either wait 3 days until the execution, or break out of the cell. I recommend you wait the 3 days until the execution, because if you do, Lucca will rejoin your party. But, if you break out now, you'll have to go through almost all of the dungeon by yourself. After waiting 3 days for the execution, the guard and two knights will escort you to a small room with a guillotine in it. Crono gets put under it, but before they drop the blade, Lucca jumps into the room and blasts everyone with her new Zonker-38. Once your free from the guillotine, grab the Bronze Mail out of the chest and head south into the next room. Take the Mid Tonic out of the chest, then free the man from the guillotine. He will thank you, and introduce himself as Fritz. He will also tell Crono to visit his store in Truce Village. After Fritz leaves the room, head south and check the fallen guard for a Mid Tonic. Once you have it, go left and fight the guard standing there. Quickly finish him and head down the stairs to the left. Cross the bridge while defeating any enemies in your way. When you enter the room on the other side, you'll notice two enemies blocking the path. Start a battle with them and easily defeat them. Once they are out of the way, go down the bottom right hand stairs and cross the bridge. When you enter the room, defeat the guard and open the jail cell. Inside you will find four chests containing 2 Ethers and 2 Mid Tonics. Once you have the items, make your way back to the bridge and an Omnicrone will attack you. Make quick work of him and cross the bridge. Go back up the stairs you came from (the top right stairs) and cross the bridge. You will end up in the same area you started in, but this time instead of taking a left, take the path leading up and left. Defeat the guard blocking the door, then head through it and cross the bridge. When you reach the other side, don't worry about the 2 Blue Sheilds blocking the way. Instead, head down the stairs straight in front of you. When you reach this room, open the first jail cell and take the shelter from the chest. Now, exit the room and fight the 2 Blue Sheilds. Destroy them both and head up the stairs in the top left corner of the screen. Inside the room, go into the second cell and you should see a big hole in the wall. Enter it and climb down the side of the castle. When you reach the room at the bottom, take the shelter from the chest. After doing so, do not leave the room yet. There should be a hole in the ground to the left of the chest, which you should jump in. At the bottom are 2 chests which contain 1500G and a Lode Sword. Equip the Lode Sword on Crono, then head back up through the hole. Make your way up the side of the castle and back into the room with the Blue Shields. This time, go up the stairs on the top right side of the screen. Follow the little path until you reach a huge wooden door. Head inside and inspect the guard that's passed out. You will receive 6 Mid Tonics. Once you've done so, check out the note that's sitting on the ground. It will tell you some valuable information you will need in the next boss fight. Now is also a good time to save your game and use a shelter, at the nearby save point. When your healed, head up the stairs. At the top of the stairs cross the bridge. Before you can reach the end, you are confronted by the Dragon Tank. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Dragon Tank, Tank Head, Grinder HP: Dragon Tank - 266, Tank Head - 600, Grinder - 208 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Your first order of business with the tank should be to take out its head, since it can heal the other parts of the tank. To defeat the head, just simply keep using your normal attacks. Once the head is defeated, you should take out the Grinder, or wheels. What you can do though, is use Fire Whirl to damage both parts of the body for about 105 HP. Also, keep an eye on your HP. The Dragon Tank has a couple of attacks that can take a good portion of your HP away, and he uses them consecutively. If you need to heal, just use some of your Tonics or Mid Tonics. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the battle is over, Crono will jump onto the tank and finish it off. The Chancellor and guards rush out and try to fix it, but it explodes taking a chunk out of the bridge. Don't worry though, as the Chancellor and guards end up making a man bridge! Cross over them and into the first room. Grab the shelter from the chest, then head down the stairs. Stop when you see two guards just standing there. Exit here and they will try to block your path. Once you reach the main staircase, Marle comes in and stops them. Behind her are the Chancellor and King. The King and Marle get into a fight, which is when Maarle decides to run away with your group. You are then chased out to Guardia Forest by a group of soldiers. ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Forest Suggested Level: 8 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach Guardia Forest, the guards run behind you blocking the path. Since there is no where to go, just head directly east into a new area. Here, you will see a time portal. Use your 'Gate Key' to open it and transport to an unknown time. ============================================================================== Location: Bangor Dome Suggested Level: 8 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon arriving in the future, nobody knows where you are. Talk to the first guy you see and reply 'yes' to his question. He will then show you his selection of items. You should by Lucca the Auto Gun and your whole party a set of Iron Suites and Iron Helmes. Equip the new stuff on your party, and then sell your old stuff. After talking to the shop owner, talk to everyone and listen to there responses. Before you leave, head over to the Enertron in the left corner to recover your HP/MP, then head back onto the World Map. When your on the World Map, head northeast past the Bangor Dome to reach Lab 16. ============================================================================== Location: Lab 16 Suggested Level: 8 Items: Beserker, Lode Sword, Ether ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the area, you will notice that there are rats running around. Do not get near them or they will steal your items. With that said, begin by heading all the way right until you hit a wall. Head up, dodge the rat, and grab the Beserker out of the chest. Go left through a little opening, then destroy the Octopod and Man Eaters that attack you. After the battle, head north and you'll run into some Craters, and a Meat Eater. Easily destroy them, then go right while dodging the rat that's running around. Take the Lode Sword that's in the chest and continue north. Dodge the few rats running around and grab the Lode Bow from the chest. Equip it on Marle before doing anything else. Once it's equipped, head south and you will get attacked by more Octopods and Man Eaters. Quickly defeat them and go north until you find yourself in another battle, only this time your fighting Craters. Once you finish these guys off, go right while dodging the rat, and head into the new area. In the new area, go east then south to the bottom of the screen where you will find a chest containing an Ether. After getting the item, run to the right and you will get attacked by three shadows. Make quick work of them by using your Tech and Magic attacks. When the battle is over, walk right a few more steps and you'll get attacked by another three. Hit them with the Fire Whirl Dual Tech to finish them in one blow. When the shadows are gone, head directly north and a mutant will attack you. Defeat him and head up and onto the World Map. When you reach the World Map, head east then south a little, and enter the Arris Dome. ============================================================================== Location: Arris Dome Suggested Level: 9 Items: Mid Ether x2 ============================================================================== Shops ===== Market Item | Price ------------------- Auto Gun - 1200G Iron Suit - 800G Iron Helm - 500G Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Upon entering the Dome, follow the little path until you reach an area where there is a group of people. An old man will begin talking to your party and will be surprised that you made it through the ruins. When the old man is finished talking to you, talk to him again to find out his name, which is Doan. He will then tell you that there is food in the basement, but it is guarded by security robots. Well, guess who is going down there? You guessed it! Before you go though, head over to the Enertron to heal your party. When you are done, head down the stairs to the left and talk to the little girl behind the counter. You should stock up on items from her, then save your game. When you are ready to go, head down the ladder in the center of the area. When you reach the room below, you will see two computer systems. Observe either of them and Lucca will tell you that you need a password to get through. So, climb up the ladder to the left of the computers to reacher another area. When you enter the new area, you will be on a metal walkway that is hanging from the ceiling. Begin by moving in a northeast direction until you see a rat. Inspect it, to find a note attached to it. The note will warn you that if you enter the stock room, you will be attacked. Ignore the note for now, and follow the metal bar around until you reach the stock room, which is north of you. When you enter, an alarm will sound causing the guard robots to attack you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Guardian and Bits HP: Guardian - 1200, Bits - 200 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This boss may give you a little trouble if you are not on a high enough level. It consists of two parts, the Guardian, and the Bits. DO NOT attack the Guardian if the Bits are still around. This causes him to counter attack causing 70+ damage of HP to your entire party. Instead, what you want to do is to destroy the Bits first. Once the Bits are gone, you can just pound away on the Guardian. Beware, though, as when you kill the Bits, the Guardian will begin a countdown from 5 to 0. When the countdown reaches 0, the Guardian revives the Bits. So, just repeat the process until he is defeated. You will also want to keep your party healthy, so if your HP gets to low, heal with Tonics or Aura Whirl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the battle is over, head north into the stock room. Upon entering, Marle finds a dead body in the back of the room. When your party further investigates him, they find a seed attached to a note, which they take. When you have control of Crono, inspect the man again to find a note. The note tells you that the rat you saw earlier knows the secrets of the Dome, so catch it! Once you read the note, grab the Mid Ether out of the chest and head south, back to the room where you saw the rat earlier. When you see the rat, get ready to play a little game of cat and mouse. You are told to chase the rat down by dashing, B Button, and catching it, A Button. Once you catch him, the rat will tell you the password to the two computers you saw earlier. With the password in hand, head south and go down the ladder to reach the computer room. There, head over to the computer that has a sparkling blue dot on it, and use the password (Hold the L and R Buttons then press A). Doing so triggers a switch that repairs the walkway that was once broken. After you have repaired it, cross over and enter the door into a new section of the Dome. Now, start by defeating the Bugger and Rats, then head north and grab the Mid Ether out of the chest. Once you have done so, head back to where you entered the area and take a left up the stairs. Follow the path north until you reach a couple of Bugs. Quickly finish them and take a few steps south, where you will be confronted by two more. When they are defeated, follow the path around until you reach a door. Enter the door and fight the Proto 2 that will be in front of you. Once he is defeated, go north and up the stairs. Follow the metal platform until you reach the other side. Exit off the stairs and go north a little ways to encounter another Proto 2. Finish him off, then head up the stairs that were to the left of him. Go north then east along the little platform until you reach another door. Head inside and you will notice that there are a couple of computers in the back. Walk north a couple of steps and Lucca will run forward and begin working on the computer. Through her searches, she finds that there is a gate you guys can use to get back, which is located east of the Arris Dome. Marle then gets excited and runs to the computer and hits a button. The button she pushes starts a visual recording of The Day of Lavos. When the recording is over, Marle can't believe that that is how the world will end. Your party then decides to change the future by defeating Lavos. When your done in the room, exit it and follow the path that you did before. Defeat any enemies in your path and make your way back to the room with the two computers. When you finally reach the room, head south and go up the ladder on the right. This will take you back to the area where all the people were earlier. Upon entering, Doan will ask you if you discovered anything. Your party will then give him the seed you found. Doan will then thank you and give you the Bike Key, which activates the Jet Bike in Lab 32. Afterwards, talk to everyone to see what they have to say. Also, you should head on over to the Enertron to recover your HP/MP, then save your game. When your ready to leave, head back to the World Map. When you reach the World Map, head northeast until you come across Lab 32. ============================================================================== Location: Lab 32 Suggested Level: 10 Items: Mid Tonic ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter Lab 32, grab the Mid Tonic out of the chest then head north. Walk up to the Jet Bike and observe it. An alarm will sound and four Proto 2's will attack you. Before the battle can begin, Johnny calls them off and begins talking to you. He will want to race you to the other side, so jump into the Jet Bike and challenge him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mini-Game ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In this little mini-game, you will have to race Johnny to the other side of Lab 32. On the track, you two will go back and forth from each other through out the race (you can also block each other). You also have 3 boosts you can use by pressing the B Button. To easily win the race, save your boosts until you are close to the finish line. Right before you cross it, use your boosts to pass Johnny and win the race. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the race is over, head south from where the Jet Bike is to reach the World Map. When on the World Map, head southeast past the Factory to reach the Proto Dome. ============================================================================== Location: Proto Dome Suggested Level: 10 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the dome, walk forward and defeat the 3 Buggers that attack you. When you finish the battle, head north and another set of 4 will attack you. Quickly finish them, then take a rest in the Enertron to the left to regain your health. After your healed, go right and follow the path until you see a robot. Inspect it and Lucca will tell you that she thinks that she can repair him. After a few seconds, Lucca finishes fixing him and then the robot starts to move. The robot then thanks Lucca for fixing him and introduces himself as R66-Y. Since Marle doesn't like the name, she decides that he needs a new name. Marle then comes up with the name Robo. After some more conversation, your party decides to go to the Factory so they can turn on the power to the Proto Dome. Choose who you want to leave behind (I chose to leave behind Marle and take Lucca) and when your ready, head back to the World Map. On the World Map, go directly north of the Proto Dome to reach the Factory, which is your next destination. ============================================================================== Location: Factory Suggested Level: 10 Items: Robin Bow, Mid Tonic, Ether x2, Mid Ether x2, Shelter x2, Bolt Sword, 400G, Hammer Arm, Plasma Gun, Titan Vest ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon entering the Factory, observe the computer in front of you. Robo will override the security and an Acid enemy will fall from above. Defeat him and head across the right conveyer belt towards the back. Step on the glowing object (the one on the right) which is an elevator. Take it downstairs. When there, go down the first ladder you see. Now, there should be two ladders in front of you. Take the left one and run down the long corridor to find a Robin Bow in a chest at the end. Equip it on Marle (if she is in your party) then head back down the corridor and go back up the ladder. This time, you will want to take the right ladder down. So, go down it and follow the path until you reach a little control room. Enter it and walk out onto the conveyer belt. Walk left and jump into the little nook and wait for the robots to pass. Once they are gone, head back on the conveyer belt and go left. Get off at the next little nook and take the Ether out of the chest. Now, get on the conveyer belt and touch one of the robots. Once you touch one, a giant crane will pick you up and drop you on a different conveyer belt, forcing you to go through 3 rooms full of enemies. After going through all 3 rooms, you will get dropped of in a new section of the area you are at. Head south into the next room and you should see 4 Bugs. To finish your battle with them quickly, use Fire Whirl (if Lucca is in your party) or Rocket Roll. When the battle is over, head up the ladder into the next area. Run across the walkway and take a right. Grab the Mid Tonic out of the chest, then go into the room. Take the 400G and Mid Ether from their chests, then observe the computer screen in the center of the room. It will tell you the Crane Control Code which is; Code 00: X,A / Code 01: B,B. After receiving the code, the two Proto 3's will start moving around the room. Destroy them and exit the room. Now, you will want to go left into the Crane Control room. When you enter, two Proto 3's will be walking around the room. Quickly destroy them and two Debuggers will drop in on you. Finish them off and grab the Shelter and Ether from the chests. Once you have both items, head south. You will appear in an area where you can control the crane. The machine will then want you to enter the first code (X,A). The giant crane that picked you up earlier, will grab one of the barrels and move it out of the way. The machine will then prompt you to enter the second code (B,B). The crane will then come back down and remove a second barrel from your path. Now that the barrels are gone, head back into the Crane Control room. Destroy the two enemies, then exit the room. When you exit the room, look for a ladder to the left of the door. Once you find it, head down it and go left until you see another door. Enter it and take the Bolt Sword out of the chest, which you should then equip on Crono. After equipping the item, observe the computer screen and it should tell you another code (X,A,B,Y). Once you have the code, exit the room and head right all the way down the long corridor. Climb the ladder at the end, then climb the next one you see (it should lead into a small little room). When your inside the little room, go right (you won't be able to see Crono) and press the A Button to receive a Mid Ether. Now, exit the room and head up to the elevator you came down from earlier. Once you reach it, take it up. You should be back in the main room where you started. This time you will want to take the left elevator, so head over to it and take it down. When you get off the elevator, you should see a save point. This is a good time to use a Shelter and save your game. When your finished, head into the room above you. In this room, two Alkalines should attack you. Once you defeat them, observe the computer that turned on and it will open a hatch. Head down it to reach a new area of the Factory. When you reach the new area, take a left and follow the one way path. Defeat any enemies that attack you along the way. Eventually, you will come to a room with 4 lasers in it. Before you do anything, take the Titan Vest (equip it on Crono) and Hammer Arm (equip it on Robo) from the two chests in the room. After that is done, inspect the computer in the room and Robo will shut off the defense lasers. Once the lasers are shut off, 5 enemies will fall down and attack you. Easily defeat them by using your Techs and Magic. When the enemies are cleared out, look for a small hidden hatch on the left side of the room (it's below the left chest). Head down it and follow the center path up. Take the Plasma Gun from its chest and equip it on Lucca (if she is in your party). Now, check out the computer and it will tell you to enter the password (X,A,B,Y). Once it's entered, the door leading to the control room will open. Walk into the control room and flip the master control switch, which sounds an alarm. Robo will then tell you that you must escape because the security system has gone haywire. So, head straight down the way you came and the security doors will begin to close. Robo will then jump in and prevent one from closing, saving Crono and Lucca/Marle. When your party is through all the doors and is back together, head up the ladder to the left (you can't take the elevators because they are shut off). Follow the path around the same way you came in before and you will eventually be stopped by a group of blue robot guards. Robo thinks that they are his friends, but they're not. Robo try's talking to them, but gets pounded into submission and thrown into the garbage. So, you and your party member are left to take care of the robots. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: R Series HP: 180 (each) Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This boss is pretty easy and shouldn't cause you any major problems. Begin by having Crono use his Cyclone Tech to damage two of the robots at a time. After two hits from the Cyclone, the robots should be destroyed. Keep repeating this process until the robots are gone. For healing purposes, have your second character, be it either Marle or Lucca, use Tonics or Mid Tonics. If you have Marle though, use Aura Whirl to heal both your characters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the fight is over, Lucca pulls Robo out of the garbage. Lucca then tells you that he is in bad shape and may not be able to be repaired. Your party then decides to head back over to the Proto Dome for the time being. After the conversation, you will see a short seen where your party members are on the World Map dragging Robo back to the Proto Dome. ============================================================================== Location: Proto Dome Suggested Level: 13 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When your group finally makes it to the Proto Dome, Lucca begins repairing Robo right away. Once Robo is fixed, everyone heads into the next room. There, Lucca uses the Gate Key to open the time portal and transport you to The End of Time. ============================================================================== Location: The End of Time Suggested Level: 13 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you arrive, go down the stairs in front of you to reach a new room. Observe the sparkling object by the save point to recover your HP/MP, then save your game at the save point. After saving your game, talk to the old man that's sleeping and he will tell you where you are. He will also tell you that one of your party members must stay there, since only a party of 3 can travel. I suggest taking a party of Crono, Marle, and Lucca as they will be of great assistance in an upcoming boss fight. After choosing your party, the man will explain what the pillars of light you saw earlier do. When you finish the conversation with him, check out the sparkling blue object to the left of him. He will then tell you to take a peek inside the room behind him. Enter the room and you will see a small creature in the center. He will introduce himself as Spekkio, The Master of War. He'll then ask you if he looks strong or weak. Choose either answer and Spekkio will begin to explain what magic is and where it came from. After his short little speech, he assigns everyone an element; Crono Lightning, Marle Water, and Lucca Fire (Robo does not have an element so he can't use magic). To fully obtain these powers though, you will have to walk clockwise around the room 3 times (Note: Start from the door and hug the wall from corner to corner). Once you have done so, talk to Spekkio again and he will grant your party their magic powers (Note: Every time you get a new character, return to Spekkio to teach that character their magic). Once you have learned your magic, you can challenge Spekkio to a fight and win various prizes. Don't worry about getting defeated though because you will not get a Game Over. After having your fun with Spekkio, head back into the main room and talk to the old man. He will tell you that you need to return to your own time period, or things will get harder to change. Now that you know where to go, go back to the pillars of light and take the top most one to Medina Village 1000 A.D. ============================================================================== Location: Medina Village Suggested Level: 13 Items: Magic Tab, Speed Tab ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ *Note: The reason why I said there was no shops, is because the Market in Medina Village sells items for outrageous prices, that you could never afford. When you arrive back in your own time, you will pop out of a closet in a villagers home. When they see you, the villagers will freak out and tell you to leave. Before you can though, one of them stops you and tells you a little history about the village. He will also tell you that the Mystics here don't like humans. With that said, head out of the house and onto the World Map. When your on the World Map, make a quick stop at the Elders House (it's the house above the one you just came out of) and talk to everyone. When you are finished talking to everybody, take the Speed Tab from the counter downstairs. Afterwards, head upstairs and talk to the little kid. He will tell you that there is a monster in a cave to the west that can only be damaged by Magic Attacks. Once your finished talking to him, take the Magic Tab that is on his desk, then exit the house. When your on the World Map again, go northeast and enter the Forest Ruins. ============================================================================== Location: Forest Ruins Suggested Level: 13 Items: Mid Ether ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ There is nothing here you really need to do besides getting the one item. When you enter the ruins, head north a little and grab the Mid Ether out of the chest. Once you've done that, make your way back to the World Map. Pick up a Red Katana for Crono and buy whatever else you need for your party. Also, stock up on Mid Tonics and buy a Shelter or two. Once you have bought your items, sell your old stuff then exit the house. From Melchior's Hut, go north to reach the Heckran Cave. ============================================================================== Location: Heckran Cave Suggested Level: 13 Items: Ether x2, Mid Ether, Magic Scarf ============================================================================= Shops - None ============ Upon entering the cave, two Henches will attack you. Defeat them and head around the path until you reach a ladder. Head down it and take the Ether from its chest, then go down the ladder below the chest. Take a left and a group of enemies will attack you. Finish them off and head down the little set of stairs to the south. In this room, go south and two Tempurites will attack. Quickly defeat them and head south yet again, to reach a new room. Defeat the enemies in here and grab the Magic Scarf in the chest at the end of the room. Once you have it, return to the room you were in previously. When you return to the room, this time you will want to go left and grab the Mid Ether out of the chest. After doing so, go north until another set of Tempurites attack you. Once you defeat them, go north and grab the Ether out of the chest. Once you have the item, go directly south into a new area. In here, you will get attacked by yet another group of enemies. Destroy them and head into the next area of the cave. In this area, head north and a Jinn Bottle and a set of Octoblushes will confront you. Once they're defeated, head north into a room filled with water. Step into the water and go right until you come to a wall. Once you hit the wall, go north and up the stairs to reach a save point. Here, use a Shelter and save your game. When your healed, go north to confront the monster of the cave. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Heckran HP: 2100 Weakness: Magic Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heckran is just like the other creatures you fought in the cave, as he can only be damaged by Magic. So, I suggest having a party of Crono, Marle, and Lucca since they all have strong magic attacks. Use their single Magic Techs against Heckran like *Lightning, *Ice, and *Fire to cause a good amount of damage. Also, try using Marle and Lucca's Dual Tech Antipode, which causes major damage. A little ways through the battle, Heckran will curl up into a ball and tell you to attack him. DO NOT attack him, or he will counter using his strong Water Wave attack. Instead, use this time to heal your party. Once Heckran uncurls, begin hitting him with your Magic until he is defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once Heckran is defeated, head north and jump into the water. You will be shot out of a water vortex and land right next to Lucca's House. After equipping the Helm on Crono, head out onto the bridge and you'll see two skeletons kill some soldiers. Ozzie, Magus's top general, will then appear and fight you along with the skeletons you saw. Use Magic on the enemies to destroy them, then attack Ozzie to make him run away. Repeat this run and fight tactic until Ozzie forms a new monster out of the skeletons. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Zombor HP: Top - 960, Bottom - 800 Weakness: Top - Water, Bottom - Fire Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This boss has two parts for you to attack, the top and the bottom. The top half of Zombor is weak against Water Magic, while the bottom half is weak against Fire Magic. So, have Marle attack the top part with *Ice and Crono and Lucca attack it with normal attacks. Every other turn, Zombor will hit you with a fire attack which will cause between 30-40 HP of damage. He also has a laser beam attack, that hits everyone for about 70 HP. Be sure to watch your HP though, and if it gets to low, heal with Mid Tonics. Anyway, once the top half is defeated, have Crono use his *Lightning Magic and Lucca use her *Fire Magic while Marle attacks with her normal attacks. After a few more rounds, the bottom half will be destroyed and you will win the battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, go left and exit the bridge. On the World Map, head south and enter the Elder's House. When you enter, you will hear a conversation between the Elder and a man named Toma, about a Rainbow Shell. Once they're done talking and Toma leaves, head over to the Dorino Inn. When you enter the Inn, spot Toma at the bar and talk to him. Pay his tab and he will tell you about some strange frogs in the southern woods. Once you are finished talking to him, exit the Inn and go to Fiona's Villa, which is southeast of where you are. Inside the Villa, take the two Mid Ethers from their chests, then talk to Fiona to learn some information about her. When you are finished speaking to her, I suggest taking a rest in the Inn and stocking up on items. When you are ready to go, head to the north of Fiona's Villa to reach the Denadoro Mountains. ============================================================================== Location: Denadoro Mountains Suggested Level: 14 Items: 300G, MirageHand, Revive x2, Ether, 500G, Mid Ether x4, Gold Helm, Mid Tonic x2, 600G, 300G, SilverStud, SilverErng, Magic Tab, Speed Tab, Shelter ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon entering the mountains, fight and destroy the enemies that attack, then take the 300G out of the chest. Once you've done so, head north where you will see a boy being chased by a monster. Once he has left the screen, the monster will come to fight you. Quickly defeat him and the boy will tell you to leave the mountains due to how dangerous they are. He'll then run away again, leaving you to fight an Ogan (A quick way of beating these guys is to burn their weapons). After making quick work of the Ogan, head to the top-right part of the screen, so don't go up the ladder north of you just yet. You should be in a watery area, with a waterfall blocking you to the north. Here, to the left of the entrance, take the chest containing a MirageHand. After doing so, return to the ladder in the previous screen, and make your way up. Once your up the ladder, take the south west path to find a chest containing a Revive. After getting the Revive, continue north where a group of two enemies will attack. Make quick work of them both, then grab the Ether from the chest on the left. Once that's done, continue northward and up the ladder, where yet another group of monsters will fight you. Destroy them, then retrieve the 500G from the chest. Afterwards, head east along the path until until another Ogan confronts you. Defeat him quickly, and finish the path by heading north up two ladders and into the next area. Here, begin by heading east, where a lone Free Lancer will surprise attack you. Destroy him, then head east along the path. Head to the right of the ladder, where a group of 2 Free Lancers will attack. Finish them both, then take the Revive out of the chest. Now, head west, past the ladder and up the little stone path. At the end of the path there should be a chest containing a Mid Ether. Take it, then go north up the ladder where yet another chest lies, containing a Gold Helm. Grab it and proceed up the ladder to the right, where an Ogan will confront you. Finish him with ease, then proceed west where another group of monsters will ambush you. After destroying them, head south and down the ladder to find a Mid Tonic in a chest. Afterwards, head north then west to move into the next area. In this area, start by going north up the ladder, where a chest lies containing a Mid Ether. Take it, then head north up the ladder then east into another area. Here, begin heading east where an Ogan and Free Lancer will surprise attack. Destroy them and proceed up the ladder to the right. A few steps past the ladder, another set of Free Lancers will attack. Finish them and retreive the 600G from the chest to the right. Once you've done so, head north into another new area. Begin by proceeding to the left, but before you can get far, an Ogan and Goblin will attack. As soon as you finish these guys off, you will be forced to fight another battle with an Ogan and Free Lancer. After this short fight, you will be forced into yet another battle with an Ogan and Goblin. After making quick work of them, you are once again forced into another battle with 2 Free Lancers and an Ogan. Destroy these last baddies, then immediatly heal, seeing as that long chain of fights could have been tough. Once your set, head west to the next area. Now, start by going south and getting the 300G from the chest. Once you retreive the money, head north to a watery area. Here, 2 Free Lancers and a Bellbird will attack. Quickly finish them, then proceed north to find a Mid Tonic inside a chest. Now, ready for a little fun? Well, after getting the chest, head south west into a little rocky nook and a waterfall below. Jump into the waterfall and you will land on a platform below, with a chest containing a SilverStud. Take it and immediatly equip it on either Marle or Lucca, since they will be using the most magic. Once you get the item, jump off the ledge from the right and land below. Follow the path south and take the SilverErng from the chest. Equip it on whoever you want, then follow the path north into another area. You should recognize the place since you have passed it already. Just head north, then west and you should be back at the spot where you jumped into the waterfall. In this area, instead of jumping off the waterfall again, we need to head northwest. So, begin by moving north where the Free Lancers and Bellbird will challenge you again. Make quick work of them, and head east up the path where a Free Lancer is. You can talk to him and he'll to you to shut up and leave, so ignore him for now and take the chest containing a Mid Ether to the left of him. Afterwards, head south down the ladder and the Free Lancer you talked to earlier will get his buddy and fight you. Destroy them, then go west into another area. Here, move west towards the bridge and a set of 3 Bellbirds will attack. Finish them and continue west across the bridge to find a small creature. Now, talk to him about 4 times and he will become impatient and hand over a Magic Tab! Use the tab on somebody, then continue south. In this area, you should see a save point just below you. You should save your game here and I suggest you use a shelter to refresh your party, seeing as there is a boss fight coming soon. Once your through at the save point, move south down the ladder and retreive a Mid Ether from the chest. Now, continue south down the next ladder and you should see something shiny to the left of the ladder. Observe the ground and you will find a Speed Tab. Use the tab on one of your characters, then proceed east into a new area. Upon entering this area, a Free Lancer will start throwing rocks at you. So, quickly head south and down the ladder. Take the shelter from its chest to the left, then go right and confront the 3 sleeping Goblins. Finish them easily, then head up the ladder to the Free Lancer that was throwing rocks at you. He will chop you down the ladder and you will have to fight a group of 2 Ogans and 2 Free Lancers. To finish them without to much hassal, use Fire Whirl on the Ogans, and regular attacks on the Free Lancers. Once their group falls, proceed north up the ladder and into the cave above. When you enter the cave, head up the stairs in the back towards the sword. Before you can reach it, the kid stops you and asks if you are there for it. Answer 'yes' and Mune will call his brother, Masa, out. The two think you are a threat to the sword, so they're going to 'test' you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Masa & Mune, Masamune HP: Masa - 1000, Mune - 1000, Masamune - 3600 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the first part of this fight, you will have to fight Masa and Mune seperately. An easy way to finish these two, is to focus all attacks and magic on Mune, who is on the left. Once he is dead, you will move onto the next part of the fight. To kill him, just use Slash and Ice Sword / Fire Sword if you have them. Whatever you do, do not attack Masa, or they will use X-Strike on you. When you've destroyed him, Masa and Mune will transform into a more powerful monster, Masamune. This guy can be tough, but he is not too strong. Start out by unloading on him with Fire Sword / Ice Sword, Antipode, and any other techs you have. During the fight he will start 'storing tornado enregy'. Once he unleashes the attack on you be ready to heal. Other than that, this fight is pretty straight forward. If your HP's get to low, heal with Tonics or Aura Whirl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, the two brothers seperate and talk a little. When there through, your party will move forward and examine the sword. Lucca examines it and can tell it looks very old. You will then receive the broken Masamune. Once this happens, Masa and Mune will congragulate you and wish you luck, then warp you back to the World Map. From here, head to the southern part of the continent where you will find another market. Inside, pick the Power Tab up from the ground to the left of the entrance, then buy your party some new armor and stock up on supplies. When your through, head outside and find Tata's house. Enter the house and talk to the boy standing under the stairs. He'll tell you that he 'found' the medal that everyone is talking about, and that he is not a hero. Feeling ashamed, he will hand the medal over to your party. With the medal in hand, its time to visit the Cursed Woods. To find the woods, head northwest of Tata's house. ============================================================================== Location: Cursed Woods Suggested Level: 16 Items: Mid Tonic, Shelter ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon entering the forest, defeat the group of T'poles and Gnawers that attack, then take the Mid Tonic from its chest to the right. Continue north to find another chest containing a Shelter. Take it and fight any enemies that may attack. After destroying all the enemies in the area, head to the back of the forest where a lone, rustling bush lies. Enter from the back side of it to find a hidden room. When you enter the room, Frog will greet you, then talk about how he can't defeat Magus because he does not have the Legendary Masamune. He will then tell you to leave, but instead, inspect the sparkling object where he was standing. It turns out to be the other part of the Masamune you need. Upon further examination, Lucca finds Melchior inscribed on it (Can you guess where we are heading next?). So, once your party is ready, talk to Frog again, then head back up the ladder. To exit the woods, move directly south defeating any attacking enemies and you will reach the World Map. On the World Map, head north around the Cursed Woods and back up to Zenan Bridge. Cross the bridge, then head east back to Truce Canyon. When you reach the canyon, follow the simplistic path back to the time warp to reach The End of Time. ============================================================================== Location: The End of Time Suggested Level: 16 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach The End of Time, head back to the room where the old man is standing. Save and heal, then check your party and make sure you have the characters you want. When your ready, head into the top-right circle to get transported to Medina Village 1000 A.D. When you arrive in Medina Village, you will pop out of the villagers cabinet again. Exit the house, then head southwest to find Melchior's Hut. ============================================================================== Location: Melchior's Hut Suggested Level: 16 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops ===== Melchior's Items Item | Price ------------------- Red Katana - 4500G Robin Bow - 2850G Plasma Gun - 3200G Hammer Arm - 3500G Titan Vest - 1200G Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Heal - 10G Shelter - 150G Inside the hut, talk to Melchior and he will be surprised that you have the sword. He'll then tell you that you need some Dreamstone to repair it. To get the stone, we will need to travel back in time. So, when he is finished talking, go back to the villagers cabinet you came out of to get back to The End of Time. When you reach The End of Time, head to the bottom most circle to be transported to 65,000,000 B.C. ============================================================================== Location: Mystic Mountain Suggested Level: 16 Items: Berserker ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ As soon as you enter this time period, your party is dropped down a massive cliff, only to find a group of Reptites waiting at the bottom. Finish them off and another wave of them will rush in. Before you can do much more, a cave- girl (who you will soon meet) named Ayla, will bash a couple of them out of the way. You will be forced to fight another 4 of these guys, so quickly defeat them. Once the battle is over, Ayla will jump back onto the screen and introduce herself. Afterwords, your party and Ayla will have a short conversation about where you came from. Once its through, Ayla will invite you to her village to eat, dance, and drink. Take her up on the offer and follow her off the screen. In this next area, follow her south and pick up the Berserker from the chest. Now, continue the path south defeating any enemies along the way, to reach the World Map. Once you reach the World Map, to find Ayla's village head northeast. You'll want to go to the Cheif's Hut, but before you do, check out the other small huts to heal and buy items (to buy items you need stuff like petals, to trade). When your set, enter the Cheif's Hut (the northwest hut) and speak to Ayla who will take you to the party at the Meeting Place. ============================================================================== Location: Meeting Place Suggested Level: 17 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ At the party, your group will introduced, then welcomed with some dancing. Once you gain control of Crono, move left and talk to Ayla, your other party members, and the dancers. When your through speaking to everyone, talk to Ayla again to hear her story about the Red Rock (which is the Dreamstone). To win it, Ayla wants you to challenge her to a soup drinking contest. In order to win, press A as fast as you can in the given time. Upon beating her, she will hand over the stone and the screen will fade to black. When you see Crono again, it will be morning time and your party will be crashed out on the ground. Once he wakes the others, your group will notice some footprints and that the Gate Key is missing! Afterwords, you'll automatically be in the Cheif's Hut where Ayla is taking a snooze. Wake her up and she will tell you that it was the Reptites that stole the key. You'll have to pick one last group member to go with you, so choose whoever you want. Once you've done so, head south and out of the hut. Now, when you reach the World Map, head to the southeastern most hut and speak to the man inside. He will give you a Tonic. When you get the Tonic, finish talking to the people in the hut, then exit. When your on the World Map again, move to the hut to the left of you and enter. Inside talk to the people to learn that the Reptites went to the Forest Maze. So, exit the hut and head south to the huge forest, to reach the Forest Maze. ============================================================================== Location: Forest Maze Suggested Level: 17 Items: Mid Tonic x3, Revive x2, Mid Ether x2, Shelter, Heal ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the maze, head right and talk to the boy standing there. His name is Kino and Ayla will begin to question him on where Crono's stuff went. He'll admit to taking Crono's things, but then he will tell you that the Reptites took them. Ayla will then order him to go back and protect the village. Once you gain control of Crono, head right and take the Mid Tonic from the chest. Once you've done so, head down the vine to the right and southward to the chest below. Before you can reach it though, a group of Gold Eaglets will attack. Finish them and take the Revive from the chest. Now, head down the vine northeast of you and head across the tree stump to the right. After crossing the stump, head south, take the Mid Tonic from the chest, then move north and take the Mid Ether from its chest. Afterwards, head east then south where a Winged Ape will confront you. Make quick work of him then head south and take the Revive from the chest on the left. Once you get the Revive, go east again, then south a little ways to find another chest. Open it to find a Shelter. Once you've done so, move east and around the bend which will lead to the west (kinda confusing). Follow the bend until a set of two Runners attacks. Destroy them and keep heading west around the bend to find another Mid Tonic in a chest. Now, head north and fight the Kilwala and Winged Ape that attack. Once they're done with, move southwest to find a Heal hidden in a chest betwen two trees. Once you have the Heal, head south down the vine to the east, then follow the path east to find a Mid Ether waiting for you in a chest. After finding it, follow the path back to the west to reach the World Map. On the World Map, move south to the large rock structure which is the Reptite Lair, then enter. ============================================================================== Location: Reptite Lair Suggested Level: 17 Items: Mid Ether, Full Tonic, Rock Helm, Full Ether ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon arriving here, head right and into the cave opening. Here, head south, down the little set of stairs, and fight the group of Evilweevil's that attack. After you beat them, hop into the southern hole that appears. Now grab the chest containing the Mid Ether and destroy the nearby enemies. When they're finished, jump into the nearby hole to reach a new area. After jumping into the hole, clear this room of enemies and take the Full Tonic from its chest. Once you've finished them, head into the nearby hole to reach a room full of Reptites. Finish the ones running around the middle of the room, then head south west to find a Reptite guarding a chest. Start a fight with him and he will call a Megasaur in for back-up (Use *Lightning on him to easily destroy him). Quickly finish them both and retrive the Rock Helm from the chest. Then, head north to find another Reptite guarding a chest. Destroy him and his Megasaur friend, then take the Full Ether from its chest. Once you've done so, head right and into the cave opening to reach a new area. Here, a Shitake and Winged Ape will immediatly attack. Finish them with ease and then head north to find another group of the same enemies. After destroying these guys, move north and fight the enemies standing near the flight of stairs (do not go into the cave opening to the north of where you entered this room, as it will only lead you back to the beggining of the Lair). Once they are done with, a save point will appear to the right. I suggest saving here and using a Shelter because you are about to fight a boss. Anyways, once your through head up the stairs to the north. When you reach the top, your party will find Azala standing in the center of the room. Your group will question him then ask about the key. Before he answers, he will try to get away by calling his pet Nizbel, to come and fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Nizbel HP: 4200 Weakness: Lightning Charm: Third Eye ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy may look big, but he is not to difficult at all. Your first order of buisness should be to have Crono use *Lightning on him. This will greatly lower his defense making regular attacks cause good damage. After casting *Lightning though, try using Drill Kick and Volt Bite to cause big damage. Be careful of his attacks though and heal with Tonics or Aura Whirl (thats if Marle is in your party) if your HP's fall below 100. Other than that, just repeat the process to win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After this somewhat easy battle, Azala will panic and drop the Gate Key. He'll then say that Reptites will rule forever and run off. You will then appear back inside the Cheif's Hut talking to Ayla. She will thank you for coming and then ask you to return sometime. After saying goodbye, head back outside and into the Weapons/Armor shop, which is the hut to the east of you. Inside, make sure you buy the best weapons and armor available. Once your ready, head back to Mystic Mountain which should lie southwest of the hut you just exited. ============================================================================== Location: Mystic Mountain Suggested Level: 18 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the mountain, move north following the path you did before. Defeat any enemies in your path and head into the next area. Here, head northwest to reach the peak of the mountain. Run around the side of it and jump off to reach the warp, which will take you back to The End of Time. Once you reach The End of Time, take the warp that leads to Medina Village 1000 A.D. ============================================================================== Location: Melchior's Hut Suggested Level: 18 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops ===== Melchior's Items Item | Price ------------------- Red Katana - 4500G Robin Bow - 2850G Plasma Gun - 3200G Hammer Arm - 3500G Titan Vest - 1200G Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Heal - 10G Shelter - 150G When you arrive, you will once again pop out of the villagers cabinet. Exit the house and head southwest to reach Melchior's Hut. Inside, talk to Melchior who is standing near the window. He will see that you have the Dreamstone and be completly shocked. He'll then tell you that he will fix the Masamune and will then proceed into the basement. Follow him down and wait while he prepares the sword. Once it's complete, you will all go upstairs where Melchior will give you the fully restored Masamune. With this in hand, I think it's time to pay Frog another visit! So, exit the hut and go back to the villagers home you warped here from. Warp back to The End of Time by hopping into the cabinet. Once there, head into the warp that leads to Truce Canyon 600 A.D. Upon arriving in the canyon, follow the simplistic path out while defeating the super weak enemies. Now, on the World Map, head south then west then south again, until you reach the Zenan Bridge. Pass the bridge by moving south, then head southeast and around the forest until you find the entrance, which will lead to the Cursed Woods. ============================================================================== Location: Cursed Woods Suggested Level: 18 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you get here, move north to the back of the forest while destroying any enemies in your path. Once you reach the lone bush again, enter it from the back to reach Frog's home. Inside his home, talk to Frog and give him the Masamune. He will be surprised and will then tell you to wait there for the night while he thinks about the 'events' that happened. During the night, you will see a dream/flashback of Glenn and Cyrus fighting Magus and Ozzie for the first time. Anyway, in the morning, Frog will wake you and decide to join you. He has to be in your group at this point, so pick one other person to use. Once your ready head back up the ladder to reach the woods. Here, continue south defeating the enemies, until you reach the World Map. Now, there a couple things we need to do before moving on. First, head east to the Market and pick Frog up a Gold Suit. Once you have done that, we need to head back to The End of Time to teach Frog how to use magic. So, since you should now know the path back to The End of Time from here pretty well, I won't go into detail on how to get back again. Just go back through Truce Canyon and enter the warp. ============================================================================== Location: The End of Time Suggested Level: 18 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach The End of Time, move south into the room where the old guy is, then head into the door north of him. Inside, talk to Spekkio and he will grant Frog the ability to use *Water magic. You can fight Spekkio again after you get the magic, but it's not mandatory. So, once Frog has his magic, head back into the Truce Canyon 600 A.D. warp. Upon arriving here, head through the canyon to the World Map. Once there, head southwest then south to pass the Zenan Bridge. Now, head east until you see Fiona's Villa. To the right of her Villa is a lone mountain. Walk up to it and it will be the Magic Cave, which is your next destination. ============================================================================== Location: Magic Cave Suggested Level: 18 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach the cave, Frog will inspect the wall and then have another flashback. Once it's through, he will destroy the wall with the power of the Masamune (pretty cool, huh?). When your party enters, fight the group of enemies to the right, then head east. From there, move north and defeat the group of enemies blocking the path. After the battle, a group of rats will run east off the screen. So, follow them around the bend and destroy them all. Once that's through, head up the stairs to the north and inspect the fallen soldier at the top. He has a note written in blood warning you of the Juggler enemy in Magus's Lair. After reading the note move north to reach the overworld. Here, I strongly suggest using a Shelter and saving your game before entering, because this place is tough. Whenever your ready though, head north to enter Magus's Lair. ============================================================================== Location: Magus's Lair Suggested Level: 19 Items: Mid Ether x4, Shelter x2, Slasher, Barrier x2, Magic Tab x2, Mist Robe x2, Dark Mail, DoomFinger, Lapis, Speed Belt, Revive, MagicScarf ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you get here, move north and Frog will tell you that your at Magus's Castle (duh). Once he's through, head north into the castle. Inside, head north then take a left at the intersection. Here, talk to the people standing around, then take the Mid Ether from the chest to the north. Once you have it, head north into the next room. Continue north and take the Mid Ether and Shelter from there chests. Once you get these items, move south through the rooms you came from, to reach the intersection again. Now, once you get here head right instead of left. Once you've done so, talk to the kids surronding the chest, then proceed north into the next room. In this room, you'll notice some familiar looking people walking around. Talk to them and grab the Mid Ether from its chest to the north, while continuing into the next room. Upon entering you'll notice there is nothing here, so head south and back through the rooms to reach the intersection at the beginning of the castle. When you finally arrive, you'll notice there is a save point by the window. Move towards it and Ozzie will appear only to mock Frog. Once he leaves, he'll set a fair sized group of enemies to fight you. Destroy them and then move west into the corridor (again). Here, head north and fight the Skeletons circling the room. Once they're finished, move north to find another set of them standing around. Destroy them with ease, then go north into the next room. Now, talk to the lady in the center of the room and the people around her will turn into Decedents. Finish them all and Slash will appear in the center of the room. Before talking to him, make sure everyone is fully healed and ready to go. When your ready talk to him to start a battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Slash HP: 5200 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I suggest having a party of Crono, Frog, and Robo since you should have their Triple Tech 'Triple Raid' by now. If you do not have this party, don't worry you should still be alright. Anyways, when the battle begins, use Triple Raid or any regular attacks to cause good damage. Heal when necessary with your third party member so your other members can still attack. Once you do enough damage he will grab his sword off the wall. This is when the real fight begins. Continue to pound away on him with Triple Raid, X-Strike, SwordStream, or any other good techs. Watch out for some of his moves though, as they can take over 100 HP off you. If that happens, heal immediatly with Mid Tonics, Aura Whirl, or anything else useful. Also, near the end of the fight he will start saying "yes indeed!" meaning he is going to hit you harder and faster. Just be ready to heal when this happens, so none of your party members die. Keep attacking and using techs and you should finish the battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you defeat him, take the Slasher sword from the ground and equip it on Crono. Then, heal by using a Shelter at the save point that appeared. Remember to save your game also, then head south back through the rooms to reach the intersection near the beginning of the Lair. At the intersection, head east to the corridor on the other side. When you reach this area, once again, head north and talk to the boys guarding the treasure chest. Tell them you want their treasure and they will transform into Shadows. Defeat them all by using magic, then take the Barrier item out of the chest and head north into the next room. Here, go around talking to all the familiar faces and defeating the enemies that they will transform into. Once you have cleared the room, move north into the final room where Flea lies. Before talking to him, make sure everyone is healed and ready to go. When your ready, speak to him and get ready to enter another boss battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Flea HP: 4120 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Flea shouldn't be as hard as Slash was and she has less HP. Also, the first part of the fight you aren't fighting the real Flea yet, you're just fighting a fake. So, use regular attacks to kill her quickly, but be extremely careful because whoever delivers the final hit that will kill the fake, will lose all their MP. Now, once its dead, start the real battle off by using strong techs like Triple Raid, SwordStream, X-Strike, and anything else good. Continue pounding away on her with everything you have, but make sure you keep an eye on your HP. Another thing you should look out for, is her attack 'Waltz of Wind' which will put one of your characters in Chaos. When this happens, cure them quickly so they wont attack your party. Keep on attacking and using strong techs and she will eventually fall leaving you to win the battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the fight is through, pick up the Magic Tab that appears on the ground where Flea once stood. Once you get it, head all the way south back to the intersection at the front of the castle. Upon getting there, you should notice that another save point has appeared by the window. So, walk into it to get warped to another section of the castle. In this new area, head north following the basic path while defeating the enemies along the way. At the end of the path, take the Mist Robe from its chest on the right, then speak to Ozzie. He will call for reinforcements (which were the two bosses you just defeated) but nobody will show. He will then run off into the room to the north, where you should follow him to. Here, you will see a set of conveyor belts with gullotines slamming down on each one. To get through, hop onto the first conveyor belt and slide under the gullotine. Move right then south onto the next belt and cross it. At the bottom, grab the Dark Mail from the chest and equip it on Frog. Now, continue along the belts avoiding the gullotines until you reach the end. Before you can talk to Ozzie, though, he will run away again. So, take the DoomFinger from the chest to the left of the door (which you should equip on Robo) then head north into the next room. In this room, you will be in a side view, old-school Donkey Kong style, type room. Begin by heading north defeating the enemies in your path. Continue moving north defeating any Roly's or anything else in your path until you reach the top. At the top, head north and into the next room where you will see Ozzie waiting by a crank, on right side of the room. Move south and Ozzie will turn the crank, causing a trap door in the floor to appear, which your party will fall into. At the bottom, you will be left to fight six decedents. Finish them all, then head to the bottom right side of the room to find a sparkling object. Inspect it for a Magic Tab, then head directly north to find a Shelter and Barrier residing in the two chests. After that, head directly west to find a Lapis and Mid Ether in another set of two chests. Now, you should have noticed that there are save points all around the room. One of them is a save point, one of them warps you to the next area, and the rest of them are enemies. So, find the correct save point and use a Shelter and save your game, then find the one that will warp you to the next area. Once you find the warp, you will be back in Ozzie's 'Trap Door' room. Follow the path south and around the door you fell in and Ozzie will spring another trap door. The room that you fall into is the same room you were in before, so use the warp again to reach the trap door room. When your back in the room, carefully follow the path to Ozzie, so you don't fall down again. Once you reach him he will run away once again. So, head north into the next room. You will be back in another Donkey Kong style type room filled with enemies. Head north defeating them all until you reach the top, where you should head into the next room. Here, move north and four cranes will bring up some enemies for you to fight. Destroy them and continue north repeating this process until you finally reach Ozzie. He will run away yet again, so take the Speed Belt out of the chest then follow him north. In this room, keep going north while defeating any enemies in your path. Near the end, grab the Revive out of the chest, then continue north into the next room. Hear you will FINALLY reach Ozzie. Before you talk to him grab the Mist Robe and MagicScarf from the two chests in the room. Once you have done so, speak to Ozzie to enter battle with him. In battle, he will create an ice barrier around him causing him to counter-attack any time you attack. So, what you want to do is hit each of the 4 cranes around him to cause him to go falling down. Once he is done with, use the right save to recover and record your progress, then step into the left one to get warped to another area. Now, before you go, I STRONGLY suggest having a party of Crono, Frog, and Robo. Also make sure that your party is at least lvl. 23 or higher, or you might have some trouble with this next boss. When your ready, head into the warp on the right. In this area, make a mad dash to the left running all the way down the stairs into the room at the bottom (if you run fast enough the Vamps, or bats, won't have time to catch you). In the room, you will hear voices of some sort. Head north along the flame-lit path and you will find Magus at the end. After some talk, he will challenge your party to a fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Magus HP: 6666 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Be ready for a battle, because this fight is by far the hardest you've been in yet! Before you start fighting him, you need to know that he has a magic barrier up. This barrier will only let a certain type of magic hit him at a time (lightning, fire, water, etc.). For him to change it, you will have to attack him. Also, every time Frog attacks, Magus's defense will lower because of the Masamune. With that said, start out by having everyone attack the first round so you can see what barrier he has up. Once you know, use the magic type you need to, and continue attacking him. Keep a close eye on your Hit Points too, since he counter-attacks everytime you attack him. If you need to heal use Mid Tonics, *Heal (Frog's Tech), Heal Beam (Robo's Tech), or Aura Whirl. Watch out for some of his nastier moves also, like Dark Matter which can take huge amounts of HP off your whole party. Just continue pounding on him with Triple Raid, Spire, *Lightning2 (if the barrier permits),or any other good techs. Once you cause enough damage, he will fall and your party will win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After this tough battle, the flames around you will go out and Magus will kneel in defeat. He will speak a little, but before long the huge monster he summoned, named Lavos, will send your party flying into a gravitational warp. ============================================================================== Location: Cheif's Hut Suggested Level: 24 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When your party enters the warp, after the fight with Magus, you will see a dream sequence with Crono and Marle. Once it's through, you'll be awoken by Ayla inside the Cheif's Hut. She will then tell you that she found you guys by Mystic Mountain and carried you all back to the hut. After some more talk, she will tell you to rest and then leave the room. In the morning, Kino will come and speak to your party. In the middle of talking he will be interrupted by somebody, saying that the woods are on fire. Once you gain control of Crono, head outside and to the trading hut to buy the best equipment for your party. When your through, head in a northwest direction (you will have to pass through the Meeting Site) to reach your next destination, the Laruba Ruins. ============================================================================== Location: Laruba Ruins Suggested Level: 24 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Here, head to the back to see Ayla talking to the Old Man. The Old Man is mad that the Reptites destroyed the village and will yell at Ayla. Once they are finished talking and Ayla leaves, follow her out of here to the south. On the World Map again, head south and around the bend to find the Dactyl's Nest. ============================================================================== Location: Dactyl Nest Suggested Level: 24 Items: Mid Ether, Mid Tonic, Meso Mail ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter this area, defeat the nearby enemies and continue north until you reach two Avian Rex's. Destroy them and climb the wall that is north of you. Take the Mid Ether out of the chest to the right, then proceed south until you confront a set of Shist's. Quickly finish them and take the Mid Tonic from its chest which lies southeast of you. Once you've done so, continue north and up the wall to reach the next area. Here, defeat the enemies next to you, then head directly north and up the sets of walls. After reaching the top of the second wall, head around the bend and to the south to find yet another group of enemies waiting to ambush you. Finish them and head east, grabbing the Meso Mail out of the chest, then going north up the nearby wall. At the top, move north a little ways to get ambushed by a set of Avian Rex's. Destroy them with ease then head north into the next area. Upon entering here, you will see a scene where Ayla calls a Dactyl down. Once it's through, head north and speak to her. She will be surprised to see you and then she will call another set of Dactyl's down, so your party can get to the Tyrano Lair. Choose your third party member wisely, then, once you gain control of the Dactyl's, head southeast to find a tower lying on a hill. Land the birds, then save your game and heal. When your ready, enter the Tyrano Lair. ============================================================================== Location: Tyrano Lair Suggested Level: 24 Items: Mid Ether x2, Full Tonic, Meso Mail, CeraTopper x2, Tonic, Revive, Full Ether, ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter the Lair, begin by defeating the Cave Apes and the Reptite, then proceed into the right 'opened skull'. Follow the path until you reach two Reptites guarding an entrance to a jail cell. Finish them both, then hit the switch next to the door to free the prisoners. Afterwards, head east then north to find another set of Reptites guarding a stairwell. Finish them both with ease, then head down the stairs and into the next room. When you reach this room, head south and find the group of Reptites standing near the cell. Confront and defeat them, then, head near the cell door to find Kino trapped behind it. Ayla will then jump in the cell and the two will have a little conversation. Once it's through, Kino will tell you that he wants to show you something, then he will run off. Before you follow him though, take the Mid Ether from its chest in the cell, then exit the room. Follow Kino all the way back to the first room with the two skulls. Here, Kino will open the left skull allowing you to pass through. After he has left, proceed pass the skull and up the staircase to the north. Now, when you reach the top of the stairs, start by heading east then south (hit the switch if you don't want to fight the nearby enemies). On the balcony, defeat the Volcano's and the Avian Rex that attack (more enemies will attack after the fight). When they're finished, head into the room on the right. Inside, take only the chest on the left to receive a Full Tonic. Opening the other chest will result in a 'pit' trap where you will have to fight some enemies. So, once you get the Tonic, head back to the room with the switches. Now, this time you will want to go west and into the next area. When there, defeat the Reptites walking around and the Avian Rex that will attack afterwards. Once they're all defeated, head into the room on the left. In this room, you will see a tile walkway. Just to let you know, this room is very aggrevating. You are going to have to warp around the room to find the exit and you might have to fight enemies along the way. There are also four items in this room, which are a Tonic, Revive, Meso Mail, and a CeraTopper. So, since there is no real way for me to describe this room in detail and for you to understand it, just try your best to get the items and to reach the exit. Once you exit the tile room, head south to reach another balcony. Here, follow the path east defeating any enemies that attack you along the way. At the end of the path to the very east, head north and into the room. Inside, you will see two switches and a skull in the back. Step on the right one to open the skull (stepping on the left one will result in the skull opening, but you will also have to fight a group of enemies). Once it's open, head north and press the switch on the wall. Now, head back onto the balcony (defeat any attacking enemies) and enter the center room that was once blocked off. In this area, talk to the creature blocking the path, and he will let you through. Pass him, then save/heal at the savepoint. When your healed and ready, head north and up the stairs, but before you can go, Nizbel II will stop you and want to fight! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Nizbel II HP: 4200 Weakness: Lightning Charm: Third Eye ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The fight against this guy should'nt be too hard at all. Have Crono start out by casting *Lightning2 on him to greatly lower his defense. Once it is lowered, pound away on him with regular attacks and Crono and Ayla's dual tech, Volt Bite. Doing this will cause a good amount of damage. Careful though, because he might release his 'electrical energy' to cause big damage to your entire party. If that happens use Frog's *Heal tech. Just continue to attack and use *Lightning magic to defeat him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you have defeated Nizbel II, heal and save again at the savepoint, then head north and up the stairs. Here, head south to reach yet another balcony. Outside on the balcony, head all the way to the east while defeating any enemies in your way. At the end, enter the room to the north. Inside, hit the top most switch to make a savepoint appear. Once you have done that, approach the skull and hit A to open it. Now, head north and hit the switch ahead, take the Full Ether from it's chest, then save your game and exit the room. Back on the balcony, enter the center room that was once blocked (again, defeat any enemies that confront you). Inside this area, head north to find Azala sitting in his King's chair. He'll begin to talk to you, but will be interupted by a huge roaring sound. He will then leave the room to the north, but before you follow him, take the two nearby chests that contain a CeraTopper and a Mid Ether. Now, make sure you're fully healed and ready, then follow the path that Azala took to the north to find the Black Tyrano. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: BlackTyrano, Azala HP: BlackTyrano - 10500, Azala - 2700 Weakness: None Charm: Magic Tab ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start out this battle by taking out Azala first. Doing so will allow you to focus all your attention on the BlackTyrano. To easily destroy him, use Crono and Frog's Spire dual tech, about 2-3 times. Once he is done with, he will use an HP Break attack on your characters, which will slowly wittle away at your HP (like poison). Now, do not attack the Tyrano with everything you have just yet. Use only your regular attacks on him until a message says that he has lowered his defense to power up for an attack. When this happens, unload on him with everything you have. *Lightning2, Spire, Volt Bite, and anything else will all do good amounts of damage. Careful though, because when his countdown reaches zero, he will use a strong fire attack on your whole party. Heal immediatly after he uses this attack so none of your characters die. So, just repeat this wait, attack, and heal process until he is defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After this battle is over, the BlackTyrano will fall and Azala will crawl out. He will speak to you for a little bit, then it will show a scene where Lavos is coming towards earth. Once it's done, Kino will land on the bridge with some Dactyl's, and your party will board them as Lavos comes crahing down. After a huge explosion and another short scene, your party will be outside the Lair Ruins. Save and heal, then enter the ruins to find a warp leading to 12,000 B.C. ============================================================================== Location: Skyway Suggested Level: 26 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ You actually don't start out in the Skyway, but rather in a cave. Exit the cave to the south to reach the World Map. You'll be in an icy, frozen over world. Anyways, head southeast to find a multi-colored building, which is the Skyway. Enter the building and then step onto the futuristic looking circle to get transported to a city high above the clouds. Here, move east onto the building to find Enhasa. ============================================================================== Location: Enhasa Suggested Level: 26 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops ===== Enhasa Item Shop Item | Price ------------------- Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Full Tonic - 700G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Ether - 800G When you enter, speak to everyone around to learn valuable information about this place. Then, make your way to the northwest part of this area to find a strange young boy. He will tell you that someone in your party will die soon, which isn't the best of news. Once he leaves, finish speaking to everybody then check out the item shop in the southwest part of the building. Buy the necessary items you need, then exit the building to the south. On the overworld, head northeast to find the Land Bridge which will take you back to the main land. Once there, exit the Skyway you appear in and head northwest to find another one. Enter it and warp back up to the land in the clouds. Now, exit the Land Bridge to the south, then continue west until you reach the city of Kajar. ============================================================================== Location: Kajar Suggested Level: 26 Items: Speed Tab, Black Rock ============================================================================== Shops ===== Kajar Item Shop Item | Price ------------------- Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Full Tonic - 700G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Ether - 800G Upon entering this place, talk to the people around you to learn more interesting facts about this place. Once you've had your fill with talking, enter the room in the northeast corner of this place. When inside, scour the bottom right side of the room to find a cleverly hidden Speed Tab. After getting it, talk to the Nu (short blue creature) in the northwest part of the room. He will say something regarding about elements. Now, if you were paying attention in the room before, you should have noticed three 'elemental' books scattered around the room. Your next task has to do with opening these three books in the correct order. So, back in the main room, head to the northwest area first to find the water book. After that, head southeast to find the wind book. And last but not least, check the middle area of the room (it's by a Nu) to find the fire book. Once you have opened all three books, a hidden room will open up. Enter the new room and observe the doll in the middle of the room to find a Black Rock. There is no use for this item right now, but you will need it later. Anyways, you're now done with everything you need to do here, so buy some items from the shop (the Nu behind the counter) and exit to the south. Back on the World Map, you can go west and check out the Blackbird if you want, but there is nothing you can really do there now. So, what you want to do now is head back to Enhasa (warp using the Land Bridges/Skyways), so we can get two items we missed earlier. ============================================================================== Location: Enhasa Suggested Level: 26 Items: Speed Tab, Magic Tab ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach this place again, we'll need to find the items we missed. Now, remember opening the elemental books in Kajar? Well, that is what we are going to have to do here. So, begin by heading to the northeast part of the room to find the water book. Then, move to the northwest area to find the wind book. Once you've done that, head to the counter near the entrance to find the fire book. Upon opening the three books in order, a secret door will open. Enter it and speak to the Nu inside. Choose to fight him and he will split into six Nu's. This battle may be difficult, but try using multiple hit techs (or techs that hit more than one enemy). Once you defeat the six Nu's take the Speed Tab and Magic Tab from him. We are now finished in this place again, so heal outside (in the futuristic looking circle in the northwest part of the room) then exit to the south. On the World Map again, follow the Land Bridge/Skyway warp path back to Kajar. Once you reach Kajar head northeast of it to find a cave. Inside, you will find a warp leading to another cave. Follow this cave warping path until you reach the top of the mountain where the Zeal Palace lies. ============================================================================== Location: Zeal Palace Suggested Level: 26 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter, you will hear an eerie music playing in the background. Talk to the people scattered around the building and then head into the room in the northeast corner. There, enter the room on the right to drop in on a conversation between Schala and Janus. In the middle of it, a maid will come in and tell Schala that the Queen wants to see her in the Ocean Palace. Once they leave, speak to Janus then exit back out into the main room. Finish speaking to everyone, then head into the center and northmost room. Here, follow Schala up the path and watch her open up the weird looking door. Once she goes through, head back to the main room and head west. Talk to the Nu blocking the entrance and he will tell you that the path leads to the Mammon Machine. So, follow the path north until you reach a meeting room type place. Here, inspect the red glowing object in front of you, to energize Marle's pendant. After you have done so, head back to the weird looking door that Schala opened up earlier. Inspect it and it will open up, allowing you to enter. Inside, the Queen will become upset, then question you. She will then tell Dalton to take you away. Instead of taking you away though, he will summon a super powerful Golem. You CANNOT win this battle so don't even try. Once your party is defeated, you will be in a cell type room. Here, Schala and Janus will enter and free your party from the tube type thing. She will tell you to leave and save Melchior, but before you can, the Prophet enters and disrupts things. He will ask to show him how your party got there, and you will automatically be back in the Cave you first came here by. There, your party will be transported back to the Lair Ruins. ============================================================================== Location: Lair Ruins Suggested Level: 26 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you arrive here, your party will figure out that the pendant can open the mysterious looking doors scattered throughout the time periods. So, once you gain control of Crono, exit the ruins to the south. On the World Map, hop on the Dactyl's waiting outside and fly them to the Mystic Mountains. (Note: Make sure you heal your party since all of their HP's are 1 after the fight with Golem) When you reach the mountains, follow the path north defeating any enemies in your way. Keep going north, until you reach the cliff edge where you should jump into the time warp leading to The End of Time. At The End of Time, save your game and heal at the savepoint, then speak to the Old Man standing by the pole. He will inform you about a machine called The Wings of Time which was rumored to be built. After talking to him, head back to the warp pillars and enter the center one, to get warped to the Proto Dome 2300 A.D. ============================================================================== Location: Proto Dome Suggested Level: 26 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you get here, head directly south and out of the building to reach the World Map. Once on the World Map, move northwest to Lab 32. There, race Johnny again to reach the other side of the Lab. Exit the Lab, then head southwest to find the Arris Dome, where some valuable items lie. ============================================================================== Location: Arris Dome Suggested Level: 26 Items: Power Tab, Lumin Robe, Elixir, Hit Ring, Gold Erng ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Inside, follow the path to the center of the room. Once there, climb down the ladder to the south of the Old Man. Here, enter the east door and follow the simplistic one-way path while dodging the enemies. Exit this room to the north to reach another room. What you want to do in this room, is to move northeast while avoiding any enemies. When you reach the northeast corner of this room, you should find a sealed door. Open it with the pendant and enter. Inside this room, take the Power Tab off the ground, then take the four chests containing a Lumin Robe, Elixir, Hit Ring, and Gold Erng. Once you get these items, there is nothing more for you to do in this Dome, so make your way back through the rooms to the World Map. Upon exiting the Dome, head northwest and enter Lab 16. ============================================================================== Location: Lab 16 Suggested Level: 26 Itmes: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Since this place is extremly easy to navigate through, I don't think you need much detail on how to get through here again. Just follow the path south then west, defeating any enemies that challenge you. When you reach the next area, head south and around all the junk, and you should reach the World Map no problem. On the World Map, head south and make a quick stop at the Bangor Dome to pick up some items. ============================================================================== Location: Bangor Dome Suggested Level: 26 Items: Charm Top, Full Ether, Wallet ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter this Dome, head north past the warp and open the sealed door. Once you've opened it, head inside and take the three chests containing a Charm Top, Full Ether, and Wallet. Now, with these items in hand, exit the building to the south to reach the World Map. On the overworld, move south and enter the Trann Dome for the last set of items we need to get. ============================================================================== Location: Trann Dome Suggested Level: 26 Items: Magic Tab, Gold Stud, Full Ether ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon arriving here, move east and open the sealed gate at the end of the path. Enter the door and take the Magic Tab from the ground, and the Gold Stud and Full Ether from their chests. Now that you have these last items, exit the building and return to the overworld. What you need to do now, is head back through Lab 16 (yes I know, it's very tedious). On the other side head southeast to find the entrance to the Sewer Access. ============================================================================== Location: Sewer Access Suggested Level: 26 Items: Rage Band, Bolt Sword, 600G ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter, a guard will spot you and will go tell 'Sir Krawlie' your here. When he leaves, move east and take the 600G from the chest while defeating the two nearby enemies. Once you have done that, cross the bridge to the west and defeat the two Nereid's that attack. Afterwards, head south to overhear a conversation between two frog's talking about a bridge. They will then see your party and run off. So, follow them south into the next area. In this area, head west and read the note about the Fishmen. After you have done that, head east and follow the long path south. DO NOT observe or talk to any objects/things or you will end up fighting Nereid's. Also, the save point at the end of the path is a fake so DO NOT touch it or you will have to fight a battle. Anyways, when you reach the end of the path, head up the ladder to the next room. Here, destroy the two Egder's in your path, then head northwest and up the path. In the middle of the path, there should be a very hard to see path that branches off to the right. Find it, and at the end press the switch on the wall to make a door open. Now, head back to the main path you were on before and continue walking on it to the north, then east and around the bend until you exit the door you opened to the south (the path may be tricky to find). When you walk through the opened door, you will see the frog's again and they will run off. So, follow the bend around and to the north until you reach the chest, which contains a Rage Band. From there, head east where Sir Krawlie will challenge you. He is sort of like a Mini-Boss but he is easy to beat. Use strong tech's on him and he will fall in no time. After the battle, continue your path southward. Destroy the enemies in your way, and when you reach the split in the path, (either go north and up the ladder, or go left) keep going left and find the chest containing a Bolt Sword. Once you have it, press the switch on the wall to the left to creat a bridge. This bridge serves as a shortcut through the sewers so it makes it easier to pass through. After doing that, head east then north up the ladder to exit the sewers. On the World Map, go south a little ways to find the Keeper's Dome. ============================================================================== Location: Keeper's Dome Suggested Level: 27 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you arrive here, talk to the sleeping Nu and he will tell you to not disturb him. Don't worry about him right now and continue the path north to find a sealed door. Open it and enter. Inside, sparkling blue objects will appear throughout the room. So, follow the path while observing the blue objects to learn various information about Lavos. At the end of the path, open the sealed door and enter it. In this room lies the 'Wings of Time' machine, the Epoch. Go to the north part of the room and inspect it. Your party will wonder what it is, so try to exit the room and the sleeping Nu from before will come in. He will introduce himself as Belthasar and give your party a little tutorial on how to use it. After he is done explaining everything, name the machine and then hop on (just press A next to the thing the Nu pushed in). When inside, set your course for 12,000 B.C. Upon arriving in the Dark Ages, head northeast to find a small Cave sitting on a peninsula. This is the Terra Cave, which is your next destination. Before entering though, use a Shelter and save your game. When your ready, head inside. ============================================================================== Location: Terra Cave Suggested Level: 27 Items: Power Tab ============================================================================== Shops ===== Old Guy's Shop Item | Price -------------------- Demon Edge - 17000G CometArrow - 7800G Megablast - 9800G MegatonArm - 15000G FlashBlade - 18000G Lumin Robe - 6500G Flash Mail - 8500G Glow Helm - 2300G Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Full Tonic - 700G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Ether - 800G When you enter this place, head north up the ladder, and into the cave opening on the left. Inside is a Weapons/Items Shop. So, pick up the best Weapons, Armor, and Items available, then head outside and down to the bottom of this place. Once your at the bottom, save your game at the save point and head into the door on the right. In this room, inspect the sparkling object in the southeast corner of the room to find a Power Tab. From there, head north and defeat the two beasts that will attack. When they're both destroyed, continue north along the left path to find another set of Beasts. Finish these guys off, then heal your party and head up the stairs to fight the Imp and two Beasts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Mud Imp, Blue Beast, Red Beast HP: Mud Imp - 1200, Blue Beast - 5000, Red Beast - 5000 Weakness: Mud Imp - None, Blue Beast - Fire, Red Beast - Water Charm: Mud Imp - Speed Tab, Blue Beast - Mermaid Cap, Red Beast - Elixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle is actually a pretty tough fight, mainly because the two beasts counter-attack every time you hit them. So first, lets start on the Red Beast. Have Frog use *Water 2 on him continuously (SwordStream or Bubble Snap will also work wonders on this guy, causing 1000+ damage) and your other party member Attack/Heal. Also, have Crono cast *Lightning2 to damage all of them for a good amount of HP. Once the Red Beast falls, focus your attention on the Blue Beast. Have Lucca (if she is in your party) use *Fire magic on him, while Crono continues to use *Lightning2 and your last party member heals. After this beast falls, use strong techs to defeat the Mud Imp, since he heals everytime you attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle is over, head north and up the chain to reach Mt. Woe. ============================================================================== Location: Mt. Woe Suggested Level: 28 Items: Lode Helm, Shield x2, Lode Vest, Barrier x3, Lapis x2, Full Ether x2, Shelter, Time Hat ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you enter this area, fight the nearby Rubble enemy (he gives off crazy amounts of exp. and tech points) and then move north to get ambushed by another set of enemy's. Defeat these guys, then move northwest and cross the chain. On the other side of the chain, fight the Rubble sitting nearby, then head southwest and take the Lode Helm from the chest. Now, after you get the Helm, head back to where you entered this place. Once you're at the beginning again, head west across the chain, which is to the left of the entrance. There, head north and destroy the two Bantam Imp's that attack. When they're gone, head north and up the chain to reach a new area. Here, begin by heading west and defeating the Rubble to gain lots of Exp. and Tech Points. Once he is done with, head east then north to be confonted by two Gargoyle's. Make quick work of them, then head north and use the save point to heal and save. When your ready, continue north then east across the chain. Before you can cross though, you will be attacked. Defeat the enemies that confront you, then continue east across the chain and fight the Rubble on the other side. After he is gone, take the Shield and Lode Vest from their chests. Now, head west back across the chain, and continue west until you see another chest in the top left corner. Try opening it and you will be ambushed by 4 Gargoyle's. Finish them quickly with one cast of *Lightning2, then take the Barrier from the chest. After you get the item, head back east, then find the little path going south. Once you find it, follow it south and around, then go north where a chest lies. Approach it, and you will be attacked by two Bantam Imps. Defeat them and then take the Lapis from the chest. Now, head east and across the chain to fight another group of oncoming enemies. Finish them with ease, then move south then west. Here, yet another group of enemies will want to fight you, so destroy them all. After the quick battle, head south down the chain and into the next section. From the bottom of the chain, move directly south where a Rubble lies. Destroy him for a huge 'point' upgrade, then head northeast to find another chest. Finish off the enemies that attack you, then open it to find a Barrier. Once you get the item, head south then east across the chain to reach a new area. In this area, move north and take the Lapis from the chest, then head east and confront the four Man Eaters. Quickly finish them all, then head southeast and north to find a Barrier in a chest. After getting it, continue on southward and fight the Gargoyle's that attack. Kill them all with ease, then take the Full Ether out of the chest. Now, head northwest back to where you fought the Man Eaters before, and from there, head directly north and up the chain to reach a new section. Upon reaching this section, continue north until you spot a Rubble at the end. Fight and defeat him, then head south and fight the two Man Eaters guarding the path to the chests (you will have to fight some Gargoyle's too). Once they're done with, take the Shield and Shelter from their chests, then move north a little ways and east across the chain you come to. Follow the bend south and around and some enemies will ambush you. Finish them all, then continue north to the savepoint. At the save point, heal your party and save your game. When they're fully healed and ready to go, head north up the chain to another area. In this next area, follow the path north and around the bend. Take the Time Hat out of it's chest, then move east across the chain. Here, find the chest on the left side of this little 'island' and open it to find a Full Ether. Once you get it, head northeast and up the chain, but be ready for a fight! At the top, inspect the crystal and Giga Gaia will come to fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Giga Gaia HP: 9500 Weakness: None Charm: Speed Tab ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talking about being cheap, this guy slams you with two attacks before the battle even begins! So, start out by using a 'heal everyone' tech like *Heal, Heal Beam, or Cure Wave. Now, there are three parts to this boss; the two hands and the head. To defeat him you will have to destroy his head. His arms are destoyable though, but they can regenerate. So (I personally) would try to destroy the left hand first since it attacks alot, and if both hands are intact, they can perform double attacks that can cause damage to your whole party. Once the left hand is out, unleash everything you have on the head. Any strong Triple Tech's or Double Tech's will do. Just continue this process and destroy the left arm again if it regenerates. Also, keep an eye on your HP and use any healing tech to recover from any kind of damage. Once he takes enough damage, this huge beast will fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you have defeated him, the crystal in front of you will melt and Melchior will appear. Your party will be surprised and will talk a little with him. In the middle of talking though, the mountain will start to collapse, causing your party and Melchior to retreat to the Terra Cave. ============================================================================== Location: Terra Cave Suggested Level: 33 Items: Ruby Knife ============================================================================== Shops ===== Old Guy's Shop Item | Price -------------------- Demon Edge - 17000G CometArrow - 7800G Megablast - 9800G MegatonArm - 15000G FlashBlade - 18000G Lumin Robe - 6500G Flash Mail - 8500G Glow Helm - 2300G Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Full Tonic - 700G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Ether - 800G When you appear here, you will see a scene with Melchior, Schala, Janus, Dalton and various other characters. Once it's through and you gain control of Crono, speak to Melchior and he will give you a Ruby Knife, which you will use to destroy the Mammon Machine later on. Now it's time to leave this place, so exit the room, head all the way to the top, then move east and down the ladder, to find the World Map. Now, we need to head back to the Zeal Palace, so if you remember the path, take it right now. If you forgot how to get there, start by going southeast from the Terra Cave and take the Skyway up. Once there, move north and take the Land Bridge back down to the ground. From here, exit the building your in and head north to find another Skyway. Take it up, and from there, head west then north and use the Cave warps to reach the palace. ============================================================================== Location: Zeal Palace Suggested Level: 33 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ In this place again, head directly north and into the next room. Here, use the nearby save point to save your game and heal. When your ready, head north past the two Nu's and into the next area. Inside, move forward and Dalton will begin to talk to you. After a few words, he will want to fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Dalton HP: 3500 Weakness: None Charm: Power Meal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This fight should'nt be to hard at all. The only problem this guy should give you, is his constant counter-attacks. Anyways, dedicate one character to heal throughout this battle and have the other two attack him. If you spent some time leveling up back on Mt. Woe, your characters should have pretty much all their techs by now. So, if you have it, have Crono cast *Luminaire and your other party member use their strongest techs. Keep your healer on alert, and make sure he/she heals every round. Repeat this process and Dalton will eventually fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once he is defeated, he will use a warp to escape. Follow him into it and you will be warped to the Ocean Palace. ============================================================================== Location: Ocean Palace Suggested Level: 33 Items: Aeon Helm, Rune Blade, Aeon Suit, Star Sword, Shock Wave, SonicArrow, Kaiser Arm, Elixir ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Inside the palace, head south, use the save point, then talk to Mune standing near the southern door to trigger a scene involving the Mammon Machine. When it's through, head south to reach a new room. In this room, take an immediate right and head through the door there. Inside, hit the switch on the ground, then fight and defeat the two enemies that appear. Once they're done with, exit this room by the southeast exit. Here, fight the enemies that attack, then take the Aeon Helm from the chest. Afterwards, exit the room to the west (not from the door you came in) and continue northwest until you see another pack of Scouters. Destroy them then head northwest again (you should be below the room where you first came into this place from) then south where you will need to defeat another group of Scouters. After they're gone, take the Rune Blade from the chest on the right, then head southeast to find another two Scouters which you should then destroy. Once they're out of your way, retreive the Aeon Suit from the nearby chest. After getting it, move northwest all the way to the top of the area defeating any enemies in your way, until you find a door (the room should be to the left of the entrance to this 'main' room; it's confusing, I know). Inside is another switch you should press causing two enemies to appear. Destroy them both and exit the room by going southwest. In this room, defeat the set of enemies, then take the Star Sword from the chest on the left. Once you've done so, head to the 'main' room by exiting this room to the east. Now, head directly south while hugging the wall, and enter the next door you see. Inside are two Red Scouts which you should defeat. After the simple battle, take the Shock Wave from the chest then continue south into another section of the room where more enemies will attack. Finish them all, then move a few steps south where another set of the same enemies will attack. Destroy them, then get the SonicArrow out of the chest on the right. Once you have it, head east and hit the switch, then continue east then north to find more of the same enemies. Kill them quickly, then take the Kaiser Arm from the northern chest. Now, head north, defeat the two enemies, then exit this room to the northwest. Back in the 'main' room, move north, east across the little bridge, then directly south into another room. When you enter this room, defeat the two Scouts and the Thrasher. Once they're done with, head west and go down the stairs into another area. Here, continue southward and you will be ambushed by four enemies. Quickly defeat them with a cast of *Luminaire or *Water 2, then proceed down the stairs to the southeast. At the bottom of the stairs, four Thrashers will challenge you. Defeat them with ease, then move down another staircase to the south. More enemies wait for you at the bottom, so be ready to finish them. When they're gone, head down yet ANOTHER set of stairs to the south, where at the bottom, yep, you guessed it, more enemies await you! Once these guys are out of the way, talk to Masa who lies to the south of where you are. Doing so will trigger another scene like before. When it's finished, move down the stairs where Masa once stood, and enter the room to find two enemies. Defeat them and use the save point there to heal your party and save. Once you're healed and ready, head south into a new room where a set of enemies will drop in on you. Finish them with ease, then inspect the sparkling object to the left. This will trigger an elevator which will start moving downward. During the elevator trip, you will have to fight a series of battles, but none of them should give you problems. Anyways, once you reach the bottom head north into a new room. What you want to do in this room, is to first head northwest into the room there. Inside, defeat the enemies and hit the switch on the wall. Now, exit the room and head to the room on the very right side (it's on the opposite side from where you are). In there, defeat the same enemies and hit that switch. Once you've done so, move back out to the main room and step on the switch near the entrance. Doing so, will cause a bridge to appear. Move north along it and into the next room. Here, take the Elixir from its chest, then use the save point to fully heal your party and save your game. When your ready to go, move north to the next room and face the GolemTwins, who Dalton will summon to fight you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: GolemTwins HP: 7000 Weakness: Anything Charm: Magic Tab ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle is extremly easy compared to what you have been through thus far. At the start, the Twins will cut your HP in half by using their Iron Orb attack. Use a 'heal all' tech like *Heal, or Cure Wave to recover your HP. Now, have Crono use *Luminaire, Frog use Frog Squash, Robo use Shock, Lucca use *Flare etc, etc. These techs will deal out massive damage causing the Twins to be defeated in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the two GolemTwins are defeated, Dalton will try to summon another Golem on you, but Lavos's energy will shake the room causing him to leave. Once Dalton's gone, head north into the room above and talk to the Nu. After he moves out of your way, continue north to find the Mammon Machine. Crono will then use the Ruby Knife you got earlier from Melchior, to try and stop the machine. The knife's power alone could'nt help, so Lavos appears and you are thrown into battle. Your party will get wasted so don't even try to fight. Anyways, when your party is defeated, the Prophet will come in and reveal himself as Magus. Thinking he can do something, Magus will try to attack Lavos. Instead of hurting him, he will get rejected just like your party was. After some more conversation you will gain control of Crono. Move towards Lavos, and he will try to attack one last time, but Lavos will desinegrate him. After another long scene, you will awaken in a hut as Frog. ============================================================================== Location: Last Village Suggested Level: 38 Items: Magic Tab ============================================================================== Shops ===== Nu's Items Item | Price ------------------- Tonic - 10G Mid Tonic - 100G Full Tonic - 700G Heal - 10G Revive - 200G Shelter - 150G Ether - 800G When you appear here, an Elder will walk in and explain everything that happened. Before he leaves, he will give you the pendant that Crono used to wear, and then tell you that you can find him at the Commons. When you gain control of your party, heal and save at the save point, then leave the hut. Outside, head to the north hut and pick up any supplies from the Nu that you need. Also, when he leaves the hut you can take the Magic Tab from behind him. Now, when you're ready to go, leave the supply hut and move northwest to find the Commons. (Note: Make sure you have Ayla in your party when you enter the Commons) ============================================================================== Location: Commons Suggested Level: 38 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Here, move north through this place while talking to the people standing around. When you reach the end, speak to the Elder standing there. In the middle of your conversation, Dalton and some baddies will crash the place and declare themselves 'rulers'. Dalton will then tell you that he is going to take your ship (the Epoch), upon which he uses some magic on your party making them black out. ============================================================================== Location: Blackbird Suggested Level: 38 Items: Party's Money, Party's Equipment, Party's Items ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When your party awakens inside the ship, they will notice that everything is gone. So, when you gain control of your party, use the save point, then head up the ladder. Once your group realizes your on the Blackbird, head back inside and you will have two options to choose from. Either you can use the air duct to leave the room, or if you put Ayla in your party like I said, you can pretend to be sick. Now, since you should have Ayla in your group, move towards the door on the southern part of the room. When your given a choice of what to do, choose 'Act sick'. The guard will then come in and your party will dispose of him. Once he is done with, exit the room and head west into the next room you see. Inside, defeat the three Bashers dancing around the chest, then open the chest to find your money. Once you have your money back, exit the room and head east towards the southern conveyor belt. Press the switch on the right side of it, (it should look like an arrow pointing up) then hop on it and take it southward. After hopping off the belt, defeat the nearby Byte, then head west and into the room there. Defeat the enemies guarding the chest inside, to retrieve the equipment for your 3rd party member. After getting the equipment, head back outside to the conveyor belt where you should hit the switch and then ride it north. There, head east then north until you spot a door guarded by some Bashers. Destroy them, then head inside the room, defeat the Byte and open the chest to get your 2nd party members equipment. Now, exit this room, then head west and up the conveyor belt to the north. Defeat the Bashers standing guard, then enter the door to reach a new area. Here, defeat the Bashers standing in front of you, then head west and enter the door. Defeat the enemies inside, then open the chest to get your items back. Once you get your items, head outside, then west onto the conveyor belt. Defeat the Byte that will attack, then continue north until you reach a ladder. Climb up it, then inside the directions go as followed: right, down, left, up. Follow this path and enter the room you come to. Inside, open the chest to get your last party members equipment, then defeat the Basher that will wake up on you. Now, head back through this air duct the same way you came in, and you'll end up back in the 'main' room. So, head down the conveyor belt to the southwest (you will have to flip the switch) to reach the bottom of this area again. Here, enter the nearby door (this is the door where you got your itmes back in) and defeat any enemies inside. After they are defeated, this time, you will want to go into the door which is in the northwest part of the room. There, head north and up the ladder to reach the outside portion of the ship. You will want to start by heading southwest defeating any of the Turret enemies in your path. Once you reach the southwest corner though, heal your party members and prepare for a boss fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Golem Boss HP: 15000 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss? What Boss?? This guy doesn't even attack! All you have to do to win, is pound this guy with the strongest techs you have. Be quick though if you want the Exp. and Tech Points, because if you are to slow you won't get any. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the incredibly easy battle against the Golem, you will see a scene with Dalton and the Epoch. After the little cinema ends, your party will jump onto the wings to battle it out with Dalton. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Dalton Plus HP: 3500 Weakness: None Charm: Power Meal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is another easy battle. Have one of your characters continuously heal the party since he uses Iron Orb alot. Other than that, use strong techs like Shock or *Flare to easily finish him. (Note: I killed him in 2 hits using Robo and Ayla's dual tech Beast Toss) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once the battle is over, you will see another short scene (you will also get to have a little fun with the Epoch) and then your ship will land near the Last Village. After your party leaves the ship and you gain control of them, head back to the Commons. Inside, talk to the people standing near the Elder, and you will find that someone was looking for you. So, exit this place and head directly north of the Last Village, to find the North Cape. ============================================================================== Location: North Cape Suggested Level: 40 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Upon arriving at the cape, move north and check out the glowing object. Magus will then appear and a short scene will ensue, showing where everyone ended up after the battle with Lavos. After some more talk, he will ask you to fight him. Choose 'No', then head back south and out of the cape. Before you can leave though, Magus will stop you and ask to let him join you. Once he is on your team, leave the cape and head back to the supplies hut (it's the top-most hut). There, pick up some of the new equipment the Nu has, then return to the Epoch. Inside the ship, your party will see the Ocean Palace rise from the water, and turn into the Black Omen. Once the scene is through, warp to The End of Time. ============================================================================== Location: The End of Time Suggested Level: 40 Items: Chrono Trigger, Crono Clone ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When your ship docks, hop off and head to the center room where you should speak to the Old Man. After he is done talking, try to leave and he will call you back. So, talk to him again and he will give you the Chrono Trigger and reveal himself as the Guru of Time. Once this is all done, we need to revive Crono, so head back into the Epoch and warp to 1000 A.D. Back in present time, fly the Epoch next to Crono's house, then land it. Now, head north and enter the Millennial Fair. Here, head northeast until you reach the Tent of Horrors. Inside, challenge the clown thing to a guessing game, where if you win, you will receive the Crono Clone. Once you win, head upstairs in Crono's house to pick it up. After doing so, head back into the Epoch and warp to 2300 A.D. (Note: Now is a good time to try and open some of the 'mysteriously sealed chests' you've seen throughout the game. For more information, check the Secrets part of the Side-Quests / Secrets Section) ============================================================================== Location: Keeper's Dome Suggested Level: 40 Items: Magic Tab ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach the future, land your Epoch next to the Keeper's Dome (it's on the island where the Black Omen is floating). Inside, head north and through the rooms, (don't forget to pick up the Magic Tab on the ground) until you reach the sleeping Nu at the end. Speak to him and he will talk about reviving Crono, going up Death Peak, etc., etc. Half way through the conversation, he will execute a program which will 'help' you to revive Crono. Once it's done, switch the Nu off, then exit this Dome. On the World Map, head northeast to find Death Peak. Before entering though, I suggest you have a party of Frog, Robo, and Magus. When you get situated, heal and save your game, then head into the Peak. ============================================================================== Location: Death Peak Suggested Level: 40 Items: Magic Ring, Wall Ring, Giga Arm, BraveSword, StarScythe, VedicBlade, Dark Helm, Memory Cap ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ Here, begin by heading north and speaking to the Poyozo Doll. Listen to his advice, then do what he tells you until you reach the next area to the north (it might take you a few tries, because it's very difficult). Once there, move west, defeat the Krakkers, then continue west until you find a chest. Open it to get a Magic Ring. Now, head up the stone ladder to the right of the chest, and from there, move east until you find some more Krakkers. Defeat them, then head up the wall nearby and follow the path to reach the next area. In this area, defeat the enemies nearby, then move north and then directly east, to find a Wall Ring inside a chest. Once you have it, head southwest of the chest to find a save point. Save and heal here, then head north until you find a cave opening. Enter it, and inside you will have to fight the Lavos Spawn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Lavos Spawn HP: 4000 Weakness: None Charm: Elixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Note: You will have to fight this guy two more times through-out Death Peak, but since he has the same stats every battle, this is the only strategy you need) Now, the only thing you need to know about him, is DO NOT attack the shell. He will counter-attack against your whole party for a good amount of damage. So, what you want to do, is target his head and pound away with the strongest techs you have. Also, if your HP gets to low remember to heal. Continue attacking him until the Spawn is defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once the battle is over, take the Giga Arm from its chest on the right, then head north and enter the cave opening. Back outside, follow the path east defeating any enemies in your way. When you reach the end of the path, enter the cave. Here, move south and take the BraveSword from its chest, then continue south and exit the cave again. What you want to do now, is to check out the sparkling object nearby. Doing so will make a new cave opening appear. Now, head back through the rooms you came through, until you reach the large snow field again (the one with the save point, just before you fought the Spawn). Back at the huge snow field, save again at the save point, then head north and enter the newly opened cave. In this newly opened cave, head north and up the stairs where a lone Krakker will drop in on you. Defeat him, then take the StarScythe from the nearby chest. Once you get it, head north and into the next area where you will have to fight another Lavos Spawn (if you need help, see the previous Boss Strategy). After you defeat it, continue west and speak to the Poyozo Doll there. He will tell you to be careful because the path ahead is very slippery. Now, what you need to do is run along the path and try not to fall, because if you fall, you will end up back in the snow field by the save point. Keep trying, and once you make it to the other side, head west to the next area. Here, move west towards the chest and defeat any Krakkers that fall on you. Once it's clear, take the VedicBlade from the chest, then continue south to the next area. Keep following the path until you spot another Poyozo Doll. Speak to him, and he will give you a hint on what to do later on. So, head west and down the stone ladder then follow this little path until you see another ladder going down. Move down it and at the bottom, take the Dark Helm from its chest. Then, save and refresh your party at the save point next to the chest, then head back up the ladder and continue north. You will have to battle the last Lavos Spawn here, but when it's defeated, you'll notice that the shell is still there. So, what you want to do with it, is to push it east under where the half built stone ladder is. Once it's under there, press A to climb up the wall. At the top, take the Memory Cap from the nearby chest, then continue north to the next area. Move north, until you reach the summit, where you will see a sort scene. The Chrono Trigger will then break, and you will be transported back to the Lavos battle. Replace the Clone with the real Crono, then your group will be transported back to Death Peak. After some more talk, your group will then be back at The End of Time. ============================================================================== Location: The End of Time Suggested Level: 42 Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you end up back in this place, talk to the Old Man and he will explain to you how to go and fight Lavos. After talking to you about that, he will then tell you a list of Side-Quests that you can go and complete. Once he is finished talking, organize your party, and then you can do one of two things. Either you can go and fight Lavos, or you can go and complete some Side- Quests. I HIGHLY suggest that you complete some of the side-quests before fighting Lavos. Not only will you be on a higher level when fighting him, but you will also have some of the strongest Weapons/Armor in the game (if you do decide to do some side-quests first, see the Side-Quests / Secrets section for more information on how to complete them). Whenever you're ready though, heal your party and save, then touch the sparkling object on the bucket (it's to the right of Spekkio's room) to get warped to the Day of Lavos. ============================================================================== Location: Day of Lavos Suggested Level: 55+ Items: None ============================================================================== Shops - None ============ When you reach this final arena, approach Lavos and you will be given a choice to either fight or leave. Choose to fight and prepare for the hardest battle that you have fought yet! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Lavos HP: ? Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ Part 1 ~ Lavos's Outer Shell This is the final battle of the game, and you might have a little trouble with it, if you're not on a high enough level. This is also the first part of Lavos, but it's not too hard to beat. He will imitate many bosses throught out the game, using there exact same strategies. You will also be given time in- between each boss, to heal and do what you need. Here is the list of bosses he imitates: ~ Dragon Tank ~ Guardian and Bits ~ Heckran ~ Zombor ~ Masa & Mune ~ Nizbel ~ Magus ~ Azala & The Black Tyrano ~ Giga Gaia After defeating each boss, he will be in his regular 'form'. So, just use strong techs/attacks, and heal when necessary to easily defeat him. Once you finish his head off, your party will enter the giant shell of Lavos. There, use the savepoint to heal and save your game. Also, you can use the nearby warp to leave and get any items if you need to. When your ready, head forward to fight the next section of Lavos. ~ Part 2 ~ Lavos's Core For this next part of the battle, you will have to fight 3 parts; the two arms, and the head. To be able to damage the head, you will need to destroy the arms first. So, use your strongest multi-target techs like *Luminaire, *DarkMatter, and *Flare to destroy them. Once the arms are gone, concentrate on the head by using your strongest techs and attacks. Keep an eye on your HP too, and if it gets to low, heal with techs or MegaElixirs. Once you finish off this part, you will see Lavos's true identity and you will find out why he has come here. Afterwards, prepare to fight the last part of this guy. ~ Part 3 ~ Lavos's Inner Core For this last and final battle, you will be fighting 3 parts again; the left, right, and middle Bits. You cannot attack the right bit until either the left or middle Bits are destroyed. So, attack the left Bit with regular attacks (it absorbs magic) until it is destroyed. Once it is gone, the right Bit will start to Revive the fallen Bit (be it the left or middle one). This is the time to unload everything you can on the right Bit. Careful though, because when he revives the Bits and they're all back, they will attack your whole party for huge damage. Heal immediatly after the attack with MegaElixir's to get your party back in top shape. Continue this little 'Bit' destroying process until Lavos is defeated and you win. ~ C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ~ on beating one of the greatest RPG's ever! ============================================================================== V. Side-Quests / Secrets ============================================================================== Since there are many Side-Quests, I listed them in the most logical way, which is the order the Old Man at The End of Time lists them. Anyway, here is a list of all the quests and how to complete them. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Sunken Desert Quest =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Start this quest off by heading to 12,000 B.C. Once there, head to the Commons and find the strange looking girl. Speak to her and tell her to plant the seedling with hope. After doing this, (you MUST do this to trigger the next chain of events in this quest) warp to 600 A.D. There, move to Fiona's Villa which lies to the east of the Dorino Village. Inside, talk to Fiona and her husband and they will tell you about the desert monsters. Once they're through speaking, exit the house and head south to find the Sunken Desert. (Note: Before entering the desert, I suggest having a party of Frog, Marle, and Magus) ============================================================================== Location: Sunken Desert Suggested Level: 43 Items: Lapis, Full Ether, Elixir, Aeon Suit, Full Tonic, 5000G, HyperEther, Aeon Helm, Memory Cap, Full Ether, MuscleRing, Power Tab ============================================================================== Upon entering this place, move north and you will be dropped into a sand cave. Here, take the Lapis from the chest you fell next to, then head west. Defeat any enemies in your path, and when you reach the northwest corner of the room, take the Full Ether from its chest. Now, from this chest, head directly south until you find another chest, which contains an Elixir. Once you have it, head east to find the last chest in this room, which contains an Aeon Suit. After collecting all the items from their chests, head south defeating any enemies in your path, until you reach the next area. Here, your group will see a monster come out of the sand, then go back in. Before trying to find it, collect all the chests in this room (check the item list above to make sure you get everything). Once the room is clear of items, find the monster when it pops out of the sand, to fight it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Retinite HP: Core - 1000, Upper Body - 5000, Lower Body - 4800 Weakness: Water Charm: Speed Tab ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle might give you a little trouble since there are 3 parts you need to destroy. It's also a must to have Frog in your party, since he can use *Water magic and *Heal. So, my advice would be to take out the Core first, by just using regular attacks. Once it's out of the way, start using magic like *Water 2 and *Ice 2 to lower the two body parts defense. Once there defense is low enough, attack it with regular attacks until it goes back up. When it's back up again, use water and ice magic to bring it back down. Repeat this process until both parts are defeated. Also, keep a good eye on your HP and make sure you heal with *Heal every other round or so. Keep the attacking up and this guy will eventually fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the fight is done, place Robo in your party, then head to the previous room. There, pick up the Power Tab, then exit the desert. Enter Fiona's Villa, and speak to Fiona, (make sure Robo is in your party) and Robo will stay to help revive the forest. Now, head back to the Epoch and warp to 1000 A.D. When you reach 1000 A.D., head into the newly grown forest and then north into Fiona's Shrine. Inside, head north to find Robo's remains. Crono will pull him out, and he will come back to life. The scene will then shift to a campfire, with all your members sitting around it. After they all talk for a while, they'll decide it's time to hit the sack. During the night, you will gain control of Lucca. So, head southeast to the next area and enter the gate there to get transported back to Lucca's House. Back in Lucca's house, everything may look the same, but it is 10 years earlier. Anyways, read the note on the ground, then head south into the next room of the house. You will see a scene where Lucca's mom, Lara, gets stuck on the machine. To save her, head back around and down the stairs to reach the sparkling object. When it tells you to input the password, press L, A, R, A; Lara. The machine will stop and she will be saved (she won't be paralyzed anymore in present time). Now, head back through the gate and Robo will be waiting for you. He will give you the GreenDream accessory, which ends this side-quest. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ozzie's Fort =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Begin this quest by heading to 600 A.D. Once there, locate the Black Omen, then fly east of it to find a lone island with a Fort on it. Land near it, then put Crono, Frog, and Robo into your party. Heal and save, then when you are ready, enter the Fort. ============================================================================== Location: Ozzie's Fort Suggested Level: 44 Items: Full Ether, Magic Tab, Gloom Cape, Gloom Helm, DoomSickle, Dash Ring, Sight Cap ============================================================================== Inside, Ozzie will accidentally welcome you, then once he sees your party, he will be very surprised. Once he runs off, follow him into the room to the north. Here, you will have to fight a battle against Flea Plus. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Flea Plus HP: 2500 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This fight is a joke because of how much stronger you are now. Use your groups strongest techs like 'Triple Raid' to cause big damage on her. You should'nt even need to worry about healing since his attacks do little to no damage. After causing enough damage, he will be defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the battle ends, he will run away to the room north of you, where you should follow him. Here, Ozzie will try to sick some baddies on you, but they will fall into the pits, due to the conveyor belts. So, continue north into the next room where you will have to do battle with Super Slash. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Super Slash HP: 2500 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another simple battle which really does'nt even need a strategy at all. Use 'Triple Raid' twice to defeat him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once Slash leaves, head into the room north of you. Here, Ozzie will try to lure you to get the chest, but ignore it for now and head east. Another enemy will then walk into the blade, causing it to stop. When this happens, head back and open the chest to receive a Full Ether. Now, before leaving this room, stand on the left side of the RIGHT torch, which is next to the exit. From there, move directly south to find a hidden room full of goodies. Take everything in here, which includes a Magic Tab, Gloom Cape, Gloom Helm, and a DoomSickle. Once you have everything, continue north into the next room. In this room, Ozzie, Flea, and Slash will all gang up on you to fight, and this time they are fighting for real! (Note: If you want to steal all the stuff these guys have, make sure you put Ayla in your group before the fight) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Great Ozzie, Super Slash, Flea Plus HP: Great Ozzie - 6000 , Super Slash - 4000 , Flea Plus - 4000 Weakness: None Charm: OzziePants, Flea Vest, Slasher 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This fight should'nt give you to much trouble. I would start by pounding Slash with 'Triple Raid' until he falls. Once he is dead, their Delta Attack that they would do on you will no longer happen. Your next target should be Flea. Use some of your strongest techs on her and she will soon fall too. And last but not least, hit Ozzie with everything you have. Also, if you need to heal at all during this fight, use Cure Wave to heal everybody completly. Once you destroy all three of them, the battle will be over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the fight is done, open the two chests to the north to get a Dash Ring and Sight Cap. After that, head north into the next room where Ozzie will want to fight you again. During this battle, hit the switch behind him and your party will fall into a pit (which is basically the room you were just in). So, head north again and enter battle. This time, a cat will walk in and flip the switch sending Ozzie to his death. Now that he is gone, exit the Fort because this side-quest is finished. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Origin of Machines =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Start this quest traveling to 2300 A.D. There, head southeast of the Black Omen, to find a lone factory type place on an island. This is the Geno Dome. Before entering though, make sure Robo is leading your party, then heal and save your game. When your ready to go, enter the Geno Dome. ============================================================================== Location: Geno Dome Suggested Level: 45 Items: Full Tonic x2, 50000G, Poyozo Doll x2, Speed Tab, Elixir, Lapis x2, Power Tab, Full Ether x2, HyperEther, Vigil Hat, Magic Tab, MegaElixir, 15000G, Terra Arm, Crisis Arm ============================================================================== When you enter this Dome, move up to the computer screen and activate it. It will open the door to the right, which is where you should go. Here, you will see a huge conveyor belt moving north, which you should hop on to. During your little ride, you will have to fight a couple sets of enemies. Use a tech that attacks all of them like *Lightning2 to easily defeat them. Once you reach the end of the conveyor belt, head north and through the door to reach a new section of the Dome. In this room, hit the switch which is on the wall directly in front of you. After doing so, head west and defeat the two Debuggest enemies. Once they're done with, head north and you will see that the path is blocked off. So, head back to the entrance of this room, and take the path going north ( it's to the left of the entrance). At the top, you will see a couple enemies walking around. But, before you enter battle with them, let one of them open the hatchet on the wall (you will know if one of them opens it, because electricity will go everywhere). Once it's open, fight the enemies, then take the Full Tonic from the nearby chest. Now, enter the part of the wall the enemy opened up, to get electrically charged. Once you have done so, enter the other 'hatchet' in the wall near the entrance (you used the switch to open it up right when you entered this room). Upon doing so, the room on the left will open, allowing you to go in. Inside, take the Full Tonic and 50000G from their chests, then exit the room. Now, what you want to do is to continue north, (back where you fought the enemies near the hatch) but this time, enter the door on the left. In this new section, move north some more to fight some Laser Guards. Once you've finished them off, move a couple more steps north to find some switches. Now, flip the left and right ones to open another 'hatch'. So now, head back to the hatch you charged up in previously, to get recharged. Once your charged, enter this hatch to unlock the door. In the little room, take the Poyozo Doll and after you take that, inspect the ground where it was sitting to find a Speed Tab. Once you have these two items, head back to the entrance of this room. From the entrance, head east then north through the door to reach another little room. Inside, defeat the enemies that attack you, then take the Elixir and Lapis from their chests. Now, exit this room and head south where some enemies will confront you. Defeat them then enter the room near you (don't touch the sparkling object yet). This room is actually an elevator, which will take you to the next floor. Once your party hops off the elevator, heal and save your game at the save point outside. After using the save point, head south and defeat the Laser Guard enemies. When they are done with, take the Lapis from its chest to the southeast, then head north and enter the silver door next to the elevator. Here, pick the Power Tab up off the ground to the right, then continue north into the next room. Inside this room, defeat the enemies that ambush you, then head north through the door. This room is another elevator which will take you back to the lower level of the Dome. When you exit the elevator, head directly west to find a hidden path. Follow it around and hit the switch at the end of it to change the direction of the conveyor belt. Now, go back around the little path, then head south and defeat the Laser Guards that attack you. After the battle, press the nearby switch to dismantle the laser blocking your path. Now, head south down the conveyor belt and back around to the 'hatchet' that you charge up in (you should know your way around since this is the room you were just in a little while ago). Once you charge up, dash back to the conveyor belt and head up it. Take the first exit to the left off, then open the 'hatchet' and enter it. If you were quick enough, it will unlock the door to the left of you (if you did'nt get it unlocked, just try again). Enter it, and take the Full Ether and HyperEther from their chests. Now, the robot in this room should begin to follow you. What you want to do with it, is take it back to the robot that was blocking you earlier. To get there, head south down the conveyor belt then around the bend. Continue all the way west until you hit a wall, then move north. When the two robots see each other, they will stop moving. So, while they're sitting there, take the Poyozo Doll and then the Vigil Hat from the chest. Once you have these items, head back into the first elevator, which lies to the east. At the top, use the save point, then head southwest to meet Robo's old friend Atropos. After some conversation, Robo will have a 1 on 1 battle with her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Atropos XR HP: 6000 Weakness: None Charm: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle really isn't that hard. Have Robo use his strongest techs to cause good damage to her. Make sure you heal every other round or so, so you don't end up dying. Also, try to be quick on attacking since she will heal herself about every other round or so. Anyways, once you've dealt enough damage, Atropos will fall and you will win the battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, Robo will receive a Ribbin from Atropos, that permanently raises his speed and magic defense. Once you gain control of him again, refresh at the save point, then head back to where those lasers were and press the switch next to them. In the little room behind the lasers, take the Magic Tab and MegaElixir, then head south and west where another voice will speak to you. Once it's finished, head down the nearby ladder and take the 15000G out of the chest. Once you get the money, head north and into the next room. Here, your group will notice that the machine is killing humans. Robo will try to stop it, but the machine is guarded. So, exit this room by heading southeast and into the next area. There, take the Full Ether from its chest. Now, head back to the ladder you climbed down earlier, and go back up it. At the top, move north and defeat the Laser Guard enemies that attack you. Once they're cleared out, place a Poyozo Doll on each green dot (there is one on the left and one on the right). Upon doing so, the door in the center will open. So, head through to find the Mother Brain. After some talk, prepare to enter battle! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Mother Brain, Display's HP: Mother Brain - 5000, Display's - 1 Each Weakness: None Charm: Blue Mail, Elixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy really is not as hard as he looks. Your first order of buisness in this fight though, should be to take out the 3 Display's behind him. These things heal him for about 1000 HP every turn. So, just use a regular attack on each one to destroy them. Once they're done with, the Mother Brain will become mad and start using stronger attacks doing up to 200+ to your whole party. When this happens, be sure to heal using either a tech or item. To cause good damage on him, just use everyones strongest single techs, to do 1000+ damage with each hit. Once he takes enough damage, he will be defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once the battle ends, Robo will get his two most powerful weapons; the Terra and Crisis Arms. After getting them, Robo will shut down the Dome, bringing an end to this side-quest. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Sun Stone =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Begin this quest by using the Epoch to warp to 2300 A.D. There, find the Black Omen and head to the island southwest of it. Land, save and heal your party, then make sure everybody has Fire resistant armor on. Once your ready, head into the Sun Palace. ============================================================================== Location: Sun Palace Suggested Level: 45 Items: WonderShot, Sun Shades ============================================================================== Inside, head north where you will confront Son of Sun, your first and only, boss on this side quest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Son of Sun HP: 2100 Weakness: None Charm: Black Mail, Elixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This boss is more like playing a guessing game rather than fighting a real boss. You will notice that there are five fire balls surronding the center main ball. Now, one out of these five balls is the target, which if you hit the correct one, you will damage the main boss. If you don't hit the correct one, he will counter-attack using a fire move on you. Upon hitting the correct one though, he will shuffle the balls around, causing you to guess to find the right one again. So, just keep hitting the correct one and this guy will soon die. Also, if you need to heal throughout the battle, just use *Cure 2 or a 'heal all' tech. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, head north where the Son of Sun will disappear, leaving you the Moon Stone. Take it, then leave this place and board the Epoch. There, warp to 65,000,000 B.C. where you should find the Sun Keep (it's located in the northeast portion of the World Map). Land there and enter the building. Inside, head north and inspect the sparkling blue object. When it asks you if you want to leave the Moon Stone there, choose yes, then leave and board the Epoch. Back on the Epoch, warp back to 2300 A.D. There, enter the Sun Keep to find that the stone is missing. So, head back onboard the Epoch and warp to 1000 A.D. Enter the Sun Keep here, yet again, and your party will notice that the stone is still missing. Now, head back onto the Epoch and move southwest. Once you see the Black Omen, continue past it still going southwest. When you reach the southwestern part of the southwestern continent, (tongue twister =P) you should see some sparkly light coming out of the Mayor's Manor. So, land the Epoch and enter the building. Talk to the Mayor inside, and he will tell you that he dosn't know anything about a Moon Stone. Since we all know that he is lying, just leave for now and head directly east of the Manor to find the Snail Stop store. Buy some Jerky from the guy inside, then board the Epoch and warp back to 600 A.D. Enter the Elder's House (it's in the same spot where the Mayor's Manor was) and talk to the Woman there. Give the Jerky to her for FREE (do NOT sell it to her) and she will be happy. So now, warp back to 1000 A.D. and enter the Mayor's Manor again. Here, speak to the Mayor and he will hand over the Moon Stone. Now that you have it, head back to the Sun Keep and place the stone back under the light. Once you've done that, head to 2300 A.D.'s Sun Keep and put Lucca in your party. Then, inspect the stone and you will automatically end up in Lucca's house. After a short scene, you will receive Lucca's best weapon, the WonderShot and a pair of Sun Shades from Taban. Once you get these items, the side-quest is over. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Northern Ruins and the Ghost of Cyrus =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To get this side-quest started, you are going to need to do a few things. First, head to 600 A.D. and fly to the southeast continent. There, enter the cafe and talk to the man drinking. He will tell you that he dosn't have any tools. So, warp to 1000 A.D. and enter this place again (only it's an inn now). There, talk to the guy (he looks exactly like the guy you talked to in 600 A.D.) again. He will tell you that his wife has the tools, but you can get them from her. So, exit the inn and head southwest to the Residence. Speak to his wife inside and she will hand the tools over to you. Now, warp back to 600 A.D. and give the tools to the guy in the cafe. He will be excited that he can finally work again, and then he will run out of the building. Follow him out and head southwest to the Residence there. Inside, speak to him and he will call his little working 'crew' to come help him rebuild the Northern Ruins. Once he leaves, exit the house and head northeast to find the Northern Ruins. ============================================================================== Location: Northern Ruins Suggested Level: 46 Items: HyperEther, Elixir, Shiva Edge, Valkerye, Moon Armor, Power Tab, Kali Blade, Siren, Nova Armor ============================================================================== Upon entering the ruins, the team will tell you that they built as much as they could, but stopped in areas with monsters. When they leave, begin by heading west and down the stairs. Defeat the nearby enemies, then continue along the path to find some more. Destroy them, then take the HyperEther from the chest. After you've done so, try to leave this room (from the way you came in) and you will get ambushed by some Sentry's. Finish them with one cast of *Luminaire, then head back to the entrance of the ruins. From the entrance, head east, up the stairs, and into the new room. Clear this room of all the enemies, then exit the ruins. Outside, head back to the Residence and pay the man 2000G to go back and repair some more. Once he gathers his team and leaves, head back to the Ruins. Inside, they'll say the same thing as before. Once they're gone, head west, down the stairs, and follow the path. Head north through the sets of doors, (where you got the HyperEther earlier) until you see a gravestone at the end. Put Frog in the head of your group, then inspect the grave. After a short scene, Frog will receive a fully re-vamped Masamune, which is more powerful than before. Once you have it, exit the ruins and walk back to the Residence, where you should pay the guy 2000 more G's. Head back to the ruins after paying him, then this time, head east up the stairs, and into the room there. The holes in front of the doors will no longer be there, so head into the left most door to find an Elixir. Then, head into the middle door, defeat the enemies, then find the two sealed chests in the back. Inspect them, but choose to NOT open them. Leave this center room, then head south and then east, into the very right room. Here, inspect the chest again, but choose to NOT open it. Now, head back to the Epoch and warp to 1000 A.D. Enter the ruins again (only this time it's called the Hero's Grave) and go back to the chests you decided not to open. Open them all to receive a Shiva Edge, Valkerye, and Moon Armor (Note: There is also a Power Tab in the room at the top of the east stairs). Now, warp back to 600 A.D. and open these same chests again to get a Kali Blade, Siren, and Nova Armor. After getting these items, this side-quest is complete. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Rainbow Shell =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To begin this quest, start by heading to 600 A.D. and from there, head to the southeast continent. Once there, enter the cafe and speak to Toma (he's sitting on the left side of the counter). He will give you Toma's Pop and will then tell you to pour it on his grave if he doesn't make it back. So, board the Epoch and head to 1000 A.D. Once there, head northwest to find Toma's Grave. There, Toma will tell you to go to the Giant's Claw, which is where the Rainbow Shell resides (it lies northwest from his grave). Before leaving though, inspect the back of his grave and you will find a Speed Tab. After getting the Tab, exit the grave and head back to 600 A.D. When your there, head northwest and land on the island with a huge mountain on it. Before entering, heal and save. Once your ready, enter the Giant's Claw. ============================================================================== Location: Giant's Claw Suggested Level: 47 Items: Sight Cap, Power Tab x3, Full Ether, Blue Rock, ZodiacCape, Lapis, FrenzyBand ============================================================================== When you enter this place, follow the path until you reach the note on the ground. Read it and then proceed south through the big room, where you will reach a cave. Here, walk towards the chest to the west of you and some enemies will ambush you. Destroy them, then take the Sight Cap from its chest. After you get it, head southeast and defeat the Lizardactyls that attack, then move north into the next room. Here, hit the left switch to open a set of pits. Jump down into them, and you will end up in another switch room. Hit the left switch to open up the skull, then proceed through it to find a Power Tab. After getting it, head all the way south into a new area. Now, what you want to do here, is to move west and climb down the ladder. From there, head east and inspect the glowing object to find another Power Tab. Then, head directly west to find a chest containing a Full Ether. Once you get these two items, head back up the ladder and continue the path west. Near the end, some enemies will attack you. Finish them, then before leaving, head northeast to find a hidden chest containing a Blue Rock (which is used to perform a certain Triple Tech). Only after getting the rock, head south and into a new room. Here, head east then south down the ladder. At the bottom of the ladder, move directly west until you find a hidden chest containg a ZodiacCape. After getting the cape, head east then south down the little opening, where you should continue east until you find a chest containing a Lapis. Now, move back west a little bit, then head down the second ladder and follow the path out of this room. In this next room, defeat the nearby enemies, then head north through the open skull on the left and up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, head to the left and press the switch there. Then, head into the room below the switch to find a chest containing a FrenzyBand. Now, head back into the hallway and move east, press the switch so the enemies fall, then head into the room below the switch. There, defeat the Rubbles and continue on into the next room. Inside the next room, examine the egg in front of you to get dropped into another area. In this new area, exit the little cell, then head west and up the stairs, where you will find a Power Tab. Once you get the Power Tab, head back down the stairs and then east past the cell, where you should decend down another flight of stairs. Here, use the save point to heal and save your game, then head west and press the switch to open the door. Enter, then proceed north where you will have to do battle with the Rust Tyrano. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Rust Tyrano HP: 25000 Weakness: None Charm: Red Mail ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle is practically the same as when you fought the Black Tyrano, only this guys attacks are stronger. So, start the battle by unloading with all your strongest techs. These should cause major damage to him. He stills has that annoying Count Down attack too, so watch out. If it causes to much damage to your party, heal with *Heal or Heal Beam. Just continue pounding away on this guy and he will eventually fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the battle ends, head north and your party will find the Rainbow Shell. It will be to heavy for your party to carry, so you group decides to get help from the people at Guardia Castle. So, head south and out of this room where you will be transported to Guardia Castle's throne room. There, your party will ask the King if he would let you store the Rainbow Shell there until the next century. He will accept the offer, then afterwards head back to the Epoch. Once inside, warp to 1000 A.D. and enter Guardia Castle. (Note: Make sure Marle is in your party) ============================================================================== Location: Guardia Castle Suggested Level: 47 Items: HyperEther x3, Elixir x2, Lapis x2, Yakra Key ============================================================================== Inside the castle, you will see a scene with Marle and the Chancellor. Once it's through, you'll notice that you can't enter the Throne Room because of the Trial going on. So, from the entrance, head east then north up the left stairs. In the first room you come to, take the HyperEther from its chest, then continue up the stairs. Talk to the guards at the top, and it will trigger a huge scene, where in the end, your group will decide to check the basement for the shell. So, head back down to the first level of the castle, and when you come to the choice of stairs again, (either the one on the left or right) take the stairs on the right to find the basement. Here, defeat the enemies and your party will proceed forward. After watching some more scenes from the trial, defeat the enemies that attack you, then open the three chests to get a HyperEther, Elixir, and Lapis. Once you have these items, follow the staight-forward path to the north, while defeating the weakling enemies. At the end, open the chests to get a HyperEther, Elixir, and Lapis. After doing so, inspect the Rainbow Shell. Upon doing so, you will receive a PrismShard. Once you have the shard, head all the way back up to the courtroom. There, after another brief scene, your party will bust in and confront Yakra XIII. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Yakra XIII HP: 18000 Weakness: None Charm: White Mail ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy might be a little tough, but you should'nt have to many problems with him. Use your strongest techs on him to cause good amounts of damage. Also, watch out for a couple of this guys nastier attacks. They can take off 200+ damage on one character. So, if you need to heal, use items or techs. Keep pounding away at him, and he will eventually be defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, you will see another little scene with Marle and the King. Once it's through, Melchior will come in and tell you that he will make weapons for you, out of the Rainbow Shell. Now, when you gain control of your party, head back up and into the courtroom. There, inspect the glowing object to get the Yakra Key. Once you have it, head down the stairs and stop in the second to last 'little room'. Open the locked chest with the key to free the real Chancellor, then head into the basement where you found the Rainbow Shell earlier. Once there, find Melchior and talk to him. He will either make you a Prism Dress, or 3 Prism Helms. Choose wisely, then if you have the Sun Stone with you, speak to him again. Upon doing so, he will make Crono the Rainbow Sword and PrismSpecs. Once you get all this new gear, this quest is over. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Black Omen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- To begin this LONG and hard side-quest, head to any time period other than 65,000,000 B.C., or 2300 A.D. and enter the huge floating fortress, known as the Black Omen. ============================================================================== Location: Black Omen Suggested Level: 50 Items: MegaElixir x6, 30000G, Magic Seal, Elixir x2, Vigil Hat, Nova Armor, Haste Helm, ZodiacCape, Power Seal, Speed Tab x4, White Rock ============================================================================== Upon reaching this giant place, move north and defeat the Laser Guards that will attack you. Once they're gone, head north and inside. Here, Queen Zeal will taunt you, then summon the Mega Mutant to attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Mega Mutant HP: Top - 4600, Bottom - 3850 Weakness: None Charm: Elixir, Vigil Hat ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is really just a warm-up battle compared to what your going to fight next. So, just attack with regular attacks, or single techs. *Luminaire, Shock, and *Flare also work good. Watch out for some of his attacks though, and if any of them do to much damage, heal quickly. Other than that, keep attacking and you will win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle, head north and defeat the two enemies in your path, then move east into the next area. There, fight and destroy the nearby enemies, then head north to encounter some Goons. Finish them off, then move north where another set of robot enemies will attack. Destroy them, then use the save point to the east to save your game and refresh your party. When your ready, head north into the next area. In this next area, move north while defeating the Panel's that attack you, until you reach the next room. Once there, head north and defeat the Boss Orb and Side Kick's throughout the room. When the room is cleared out, head west into the next area. Here, head north while defeating the Metal Mutes. Once you have killed them all, continue north into the next room. Now, walk forward into the light, and you will be teleported to another area. Exit the room by going south, then inspect the sparkling object, to start an elevator. On the ride down, defeat the groups of enemies, then, once you reach the bottom, head north into the next section. Now, your first order of buisness here should be to clear the whole room of enemies. Once they are all gone, find the two chests and open them to get a MegaElixir and 30000G (the chests arn't that hard to find since they are out in the open). Once you get the items, head north into the next room. In this room, move north defeating any enemies in your way, then when the path splits, go right to find a chest containing a Magic Seal. After getting the item, continue following the path north, defeat the enemies that attack, then move on to the next room. Here, take the chests to the left and right of you to get an Elixir and Vigil Hat. Then, move north and empty the two chests there to find a MegaElixir and Nova Armor. After getting these chests, continue north past the Nu's, to find the last set of chests which contain another MegaElixir and a Haste Helm. Now, if you don't feel your ready, or you want to leave the Omen for now, speak to the Nu on the right. If you're in need of some items, speak to the Nu on the left to purchase some. Once you've done what you needed to do, move to the south of the Nu's, and save and heal at the save point. Once your ready, head north into the next room. Here, head west and defeat the Tubster, then move north into the next area. In this area, move directly north defeating any enemies in your way. At the end of the room, run in between the line of enemy's to find a ZodiacCape in the chest. Once you have it, exit the room to the east. In this room, move east while defeating any enemies in your way. In the middle of the room, grab the MegaElixir, then continue east and out of the room, while destroying any confronting enemies. In this next area, head south, take the Power Seal from its chest, then continue south and defeat the enemies that attack you. After they're gone, move south a little bit and some more enemies will ambush you. Finish them, then take the Speed Tab from its chest and exit the room. This next room you enter is pretty straight forward, so head west, take the Speed Tab from its chest, then leave this room by the door next to the chest. Inside this room is another warp, so use it, then continue north until you reach a large room. Here, begin by moving north, then west where some enemies will attack. Quickly finish them, then head west and take the Elixir from its chest. Afterwards, continue north along the path until it ends. Stop when you see a chest, and open it to find another Speed Tab. Once you have it, head around the bend and destroy the Aliens that attack you. Once they're gone, take the MegaElixir from its chest, then head north and exit this room. There should be a save point on the left, which you should heal and save your game at. When your ready to go, head north and confront the Giga Mutant. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Giga Mutant HP: Top - 5800, Bottom - 4950 Weakness: None Charm: Wall Ring, Hit Ring ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy really is not that hard, even being almost invincible to regular attacks. So, what you want to do, is use everybody's strongest single techs to cause massive damage to this guy. *Luminaire, *DarkMatter, and *Flare work good, as well as everybody elses best techs. Also, keep an eye on your MP since this guy can drain some from you. If that happens, use any kind of Ether to recover. If you need to heal at all too, just use Elixir's (you should have like 10 you found here already!). Once he takes enough damage, he will be defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the fight ends, save and heal at the save point, then continue north and use the warp. From there, exit the room and inspect the sparkling object to start the elevator. Defeat the enemies along the way, then when you reach the top, head north into the next room. There, move north and defeat the two enemies, then continue following the one way path throughout this room, while defeating attacking enemies. At the end, head north into the next room. Here, move north, defeat the Panels that attack, then use the save point that appears. Once your rested and ready, head north and take the Speed Tab from its chest. After getting it, continue north, where the TerraMutant will attack you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: TerraMutant HP: Top - 7800, Bottom - 20000 Weakness: None Charm: MuscleRing, Power Seal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle has about the same difficulty as the other Mutant battles. To defeat this thing, you want to destroy the top half. If you do that, then the bottom half will be destroyed too. So, use your strongest single techs to damage both of the parts. Also, the bottom half heals the top part constantly, but everytime he does, it takes away HP from him to. So, just continue to use multi-target techs and this guy will soon fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you defeat this guy, open the two nearby chests to get a White Rock and MegaElixir. After doing so, head back to the save point to rest up, then head north. Continue all the way north into the next room, where you will have to battle a Lavos Spawn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Lavos Spawn HP: 10000 Weakness: None Charm: Haste Helm, Safe Helm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This battle is exactly like fighting the Lavos Spawns on Death Peak. What you want to do, is use your strongest techs on the head. Just whatever you do, do NOT attack the shell. Continue to pound on this guys head, and heal if you need to. After a while, this guy should be defeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once the battle is over, head north into the next room and defeat the Panels. When they're gone, use the nearby save point that will appear. Now, this is the LAST time your going to be able to save/heal for a couple bosses. So, I suggest taking your strongest party members. Once you feel ready, save/heal, then proceed north where you first battle will take place against Queen Zeal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Queen Zeal HP: 12000 Weakness: None Charm: MegaElixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This fight isn't to hard at all. At the start of the battle though, she will reduce your entire party's HP to 1, so be prepared to use *Heal or Cure Wave (you may want Frog to use Frog Squash first, to cause massive damage). After healing up, just use your strongest techs and attacks and she will fall in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you finish her, you will be automatically thrown into the next Boss fight against the Mammon Machine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Mammon Machine HP: 18000 Weakness: None Charm: MegaElixir ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another simple boss, if you know what your doing. At the start of the battle, use only magic attacks (hitting him will increase his defeanse, using magic will increase his attack) for a couple rounds. After a while, he will counter- attack using a super strong move on your whole party. When this happens, heal immediatly. Also, when the message appears that says its standing still, use your strongest techs and attacks to cause big damage. Heal when necessary, keep attacking, and you should win this battle no problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once this fight ends, you will be transported into yet another boss battle with Queen Zeal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss: Zeal HP: Head - 20000, Left Arm - 28000, Right Arm - 28000 Weakness: None Charm: MegaElixir, PrismDress, Prism Helm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is probably the hardest battle you've faced in the Black Omen. First off, whatever you do, do NOT attack the arms. Just DON'T. So, focus all your attention on the head. Pound away on it with attacks and strong techs (not multi-target techs or you'll end up hitting the arms). Also, watch out for some of her strong attacks, which will reduce your HP to 1 or your MP to 0. If that happens, heal immediatly with a MegaElixir. Just continue to attack the head and she will soon be defeated, for the last time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After she is destroyed, you will see a scene where the Black Omen gets blown up. Once its through, you will enter battle against the final boss, Lavos. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Secrets =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Mysteriously Sealed Chests -------------------------- Throughout the game, you may have found some odd looking, black chests scattered throughout the world. If you inspected them, it told you that it was sealed by a mysterious force. To open these chests, you must have powered up Marles pendant in the Zeal Palace. After doing so, you will be able to return to these chests to take what's inside. To find out what these chests contain, refer to the list below. *Note: Some chests may appear in the same place but in two different time periods. For these chests, what you should do is open them in 600 A.D. and choose to NOT take the contents. Then, head to 1000 A.D. and open it. You will receive an upgraded Weapon / Armor than the one that was peviously in there. Now, go back to 600 A.D. and open the chest to receive its original item. Endings / New Game+ ============================================================================== If you have beaten the game and think there is nothing left to do, don't worry because there are many other endings that can be accessed. To get the new endings, you must fight Lavos at a different time, or complete certain events (New Game+). To find out how to get these endings, or if you just want to read what happens in each, then check the list below. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Endings =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- A Slide Show? ------------- How to Unlock - After Schala opens the door leading to the Mammon Machine, return to the 'Cave' and warp to Lavos. It will appear on the Choose a File screen in the upper-right corner. Starting a New Game under this option will allow you to begin a new game with all your previous items and stats (except for story items like the Masamune, etc.) Also, this is the only way you can unlock the other endings and face Lavos any time. ============================================================================== XI.
