Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= BS Chrono Trigger Jet Bike Special is a simple game, originally available on the Satellaview system. It consists of the infamous race between Crono and Jonny found in the game Chrono Trigger, also released for the Super Famicom. There really is not much to this game aside from the races, so it is a short and sweet game to kill some time. Check it out if you like, though if you already played through Chrono Trigger, you are missing nothing here. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Start: Pause/resume game Control Pad: Move character, move cursor on menu screen A: Accelerate, make selection on menu screens B: Use boost during race (when available) ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ========== Game Modes ========== On the title screen, you will have five options to pick from, as follows: Game Mode 1: This mode is the single race as seen in the original Chrono Trigger game. It allows you to use up to three boosts when available; see the next section for more information. Game Mode 2: This is the same as Game Mode 1, but you do NOT get any boosts. Record: View the top 10 best speed records. From Jonny: Jonny gives you some quick hints and tips about racing (if you are able to translate it, let me know). Exit: Ends the game. ================ General Gameplay ================ This game is not much more than a single race, from right to left, across Site 32. It is the same exact race featured in the original Chrono Trigger game, and there is only one race, so you already know what to expect here. It is Crono (your player) against Jonny, across 1000 units of distance. At the top of the screen, there are two numeric meters. "Rest" shows the remaining distance left on the course, and "W.P." shows how many units of that 1000 you spent ahead of Jonny. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a visual map of sorts to give you a better idea of how far along you are. If you are playing Game Mode 1, there will be three boosts and a meter located in the bottom-right area of the screen. The small red meter will fill rather quickly, and when it is full, you will be able to use a boost (the "B" icons below it). Use a boost by pressing B and you will gain a speed boost for a brief period, naturally. The red meter will empty and needs to refill before the next boost becomes available. You can do this a maximum of three times. As for the race itself, once it begins, Crono and Jonny pretty much are at a back and forth over who is in the lead. The main way to stay ahead is to position yourself so that the other player bumps you from behind. That way, it prevents Jonny from getting ahead, while keeping you in the lead that much longer. This, combined with using the boosts at the right time, will ensure your success. If you are in the front at the finish line after 1000 units, you win the race. Nothing happens if you win or lose, as you simply go back to the title screen. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5.
