This side-scrolling game was pretty popular back in the good old days. It's challenging and fun at the same time. You'll find this game fun too, but it does get tougher as you move on with the levels. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ III. About this game ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This game first came out on August 27th, 1993. As you know, this game is very old now and finding it is NOT easy. If you own a legitimate copy of this game, then consider yourself lucky. But if you only have the ROM version of this game, then that's okay. Even though ROMS are illegal, this game only came out in Japan and was not distributed anywhere else outside of Japan. It's possible that there is an english version of this game, but it's very hard to find the ROM for it. This guide is produced from the original Japanese version of the game. If you want to play this game but don't know where to get it, then send me an email. If you do have the game, you'll need an emulator to run it. Get ZSNES from the official site: www.zsnes.com/ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ IIII. The story ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ A thousand years ago, there was a place called the Moon Kingdom, where the Silver Millennium existed. It was a very peaceful time, full of happiness and lack of danger. The Moon Kingdom was under the rule of Queen Serenity. Queen Serenity had a daughter named Princess Serenity. One day the Princess met a Prince from Earth named Endymon and the two fell in love. They were soon to marry but suddenly, there was a massive attack on the Moon Kingdom by a evil queen named Beryl. The peace was utterly shattered by Beryl and her minions, and the Moon Kingdom was forever destroyed. Queen Serenity had managed to defeat Queen Beryl and her troops by using the full extent of the Ginzuishou. By doing so, the Queen was dying. With little energy left, Queen Serenity used the Ginzuishou once more to send Princess Serenity, Prince Endymon, the Sailor Senshi, and everyone else to the 20th century, a time where peace will be restored. But with Queen Beryl and her minions still alive, the Sailor Senshis are called forth by guardian cats named Luna and Artemis and it's up to them to defend Earth from evil doers. "On behalf of the Moon, I will punish you!" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ V. How to play ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you are playing this game on an emulator, I will list the standard controls. But if you, by any chance, actually have this game then I'll also list the SNES controls. Keyboard: ========= Left, right, up, down = Directional pad A = Punch Z = Jump X = Does nothing S = Does nothing Enter = Pauses game Controller: ========== Left, right, up, down = Directional pad Y = Punch B = Jump A = Does nothing X = Does nothing Start = Pauses game -------- ( ) <===Power meter (press and hold the punch button ------ X3 -------- until meter gets full, then let | |================ <===Health bar go and your character'll perform | |================ their favourite attack) | | ------ <==== Your character's avatar. If getting damaged, it will be in motion. Legend: X3 = Number of lives you have remaining ~*~*~*~*~ VI. Tips ~*~*~*~*~ Here are a few good tips when you are playing the game: - Do NOT let yourself get cornered. This is foremost because getting cornered by a gang of enemies, without doing something quick, means you will lose a life. Keep pounding your enemies without letting them push you into a corner. Always stay near the center and pick off the enemies like that. - While pressing left or right, press the jump button to do a flip. Press the Punch button immediately once you're in the air to do a jump kick, which is very effective on taking out slow enemies or enemies that jump mid-air. - After performing a flip, press the down button then press punch to do a jump punch. This maneuever is not as effective as the jump kick, but still useful in some cases. - Hold the Punch button until your power meter gets full. Let go of the button and your character will perform her favourite technique (i.e. Moon Tiara Action). This is effective when fighting large groups of enemies. You can damage more than one enemy using this maneuver. - If too many enemies are close to you, get rid of them using the super move. Although it whittles your health down a bit, it can be worth it. Especially in boss fights. - If you are playing this game on an emulator, then you should know what Save State and Load State is, right? F2 is to save state and F4 is to load the state you just saved. This is very useful, especially when you're in tight spots. You can just keep saving state and load state to make a situation more advantageous. If you own this game for real, then good luck. You're going to need it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ VII. Characters ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ~*Sailor Moon~* ----------- Real name: Usagi Tsukino Name meaning: "Bunny of the Moon" Birthday: June 30 Horoscope: Cancer Blood type: O Hobby: Eating cake -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Moon Tiara Action Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to headbutt them, or press any directional pad then press punch to toss them. Super move = Moon Healing Halation (Punch + Jump button simutaneously) Comment: A popular choice. Her super move is quite useful, as it can hit a group of enemies. But Sailor Moon's punch attack might have a flaw, as some enemies can avoid it and attack her back. But her grapple move is pretty cool. Overall, she's not a bad choice for beginners. ~*Sailor Mercury*~ -------------- Real name: Ami Mizuno Name meaning: "Friend of Water" Birthday: September 10 Horoscope: Virgo Blood type: A Hobby: Chess, reading -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Shabon Spray Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to slam them on the ground, or press any directional pad then press punch to toss them. Super move = Shine Aqua Illusion (Punch + Jump button simutaneously) Comment: Her attacks are pretty fast and she can hit pretty well. Her grab moves are cool too. But becareful, because just like Sailor Moon, Mercury has the same flaw when her punch attack is being overused. Grappling your opponent then tossing them around is the way to go for Mercury, as it is for Sailor Moon most of the time. Overall, Mercury is a cool choice for beginners. ~*Sailor Mars*~ ----------- Real name: Rei Hino Name meaning: "Spirit of Fire" Birthday: April 17 Horoscope: Aries Blood type: AB Hobby: Reading, fortune telling -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Fire Soul Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to slap them, or press any directional pad then press punch to flip them over. Super move = Charming Curse (Punch + Jump button simutaneously) Comments: Mars' jump kick attack is awesome. It's a mid-air pirouette kick and is quite useful. Her special attack is not that good though because it lacks edge. Mars' punch attack is actually a kick attack and she can defeat enemies with it. Overall, Mars is an awesome choice. ~*Sailor Jupiter*~ -------------- Real name: Makato Kino Name meaning: "Wisdom of Trees" Birthday: December 5 Horoscope: Sagittarius Blood type: O Hobby: Cooking, shopping -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Supreme Thunder Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to toss them, or press any directional pad then press punch to pick them up and slam them on the ground. Super move = Windstorm (Punch + Jump button simutaneously) Comments: Jupiter's punch attack sucks since she hits minimally. She seems to be the only character cannot do a jump flip, and her jump kick attack is basically a full-body kick. Jupiter's Windstorm is not that great but it can take out multiple enemies indefinetely. Her grab attack is really awesome though. Overall Jupiter is okay but is not good for a beginner's choice. ~*Sailor Venus*~ ------------ Real name: Minako Aino Name meaning: "Messenger of Love" Birthday: October 22 Horoscope: Libra Blood type: B Hobby: Playing, chasing idols -Moves-: Hold punch + full power meter = Crescent Beam Go near an opponent = grab an opponent. Press punch to toss them over, or press any directional pad then punch to handstand toss them. Super move = Chain spin attack (Punch + Jump button simutaneously) Comments: Venus is the best choice for beginners in my opinion. She uses a chain when you press the punch attack and it is very well-ranged. Her jump kick is good too. Make sure you don't overuse her jump kick by the way, because it CAN be easily countered by some enemies. Overall, Venus is a great choice. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ VIII. Title screen ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you have the ROM version of this game, then chances are you may have the English version or the plain Japanese version. This game was played on the Japanese version. If you're playing it on Japanese version (and actually own the game), but can't read the text, I'll display what it shows: Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon 1-PLAYER 2-PLAYER OPTIONS A) 1-Player ======== Select this if you want to play the story mode of the game. You will be playing solo, which will make the game more difficult (depending on the difficulty you're playing under). You pick one of the 5 Sailor Senshi (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus) to play as and start the game off. B) 2-Player ======== Select this if you want to play the story mode of the game with a partner. This will make the game a lot easier and all the more fun. You and your friend pick 2 out of the 5 Sailor Senshi to play as, and start the game off. C) Options ======= Most likely if you're playing the Japanese version of the game (and if you own it), chances are you're staring cluelessly at a language that cannot be read. Below I have taken a screenshot of the Options menu to give you a clear and brief explanation regarding its aspects: http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/4391/image1gg.png The first option that you see is the difficulty of the game. It is set under the Normal difficulty by default. You can change the difficulty level to Easy by pressing left. I should let you know that if you play and beat the game under the easy difficulty, then you can only play 2 out of the 5 levels. Then the game will end and will prompt you to try the latter difficulties - Normal or Hard. Press right to set the difficulty to Hard. The second option is the number of continues you want. This means that if you lose all your lives, you have chances to try redeeming your defeat. But if you lose all your continues, then it's truly game over for you. You can set either 3, 4, or 5 (which is the max) continues. I recommend setting the number continues to 5. The third option is the controls for players 1 and 2. You can change them if you don't like the default controls. Basically it's up to you. The fourth option is where you can test the background music. There are 18 different types of background musics. To test them out, press the A/X button. The fifth option is where you can test the sound effects. There are 32 different types of sound effects. Just like the background musics, press the A/X button to test them out. The sixth option is where you can test out the voice clips. There are 39 different types of clips. Like the background musics and sound effects, press the A/X button to test out the voice clips. And finally the seventh option is to exit the menu screen and go back to the title screen. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ IX. Walkthrough ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ -NOTE-: If you play the story in Easy mode, then you can only complete 2 levels. After that, the game will be over and it will prompt you to try the latter modes - Normal or Hard. This guide is based off from the Normal difficulty. Choose your character and let's get on with it! I will give you the play-by-play as you follow the walkthrough. ======= |Stage 1| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ Move forward as you begin. A punching goon will appear and it's pretty easy to defeat them. Use your punch or grab attack to finish him off. After killing him, move on. Two punching goons will appear so defeat them like you did the first goon, by using punches or jump kicks. After defeating them both, move on. You'll see an ice cream sundae on the ground, but do not pick it up yet unless if you're low on health (and you shouldn't be at this point). A punching goon and an axe-blade goon will appear. Defeat one of them with your attacks and another punching goon will appear from a store that's called "RAG TIME". Defeat both the enemies using grabs, punches, etc. When you're done, pick up the sundae then move on. Two punching goons will appear so deal with them like before. After taking them out, 2 axe-blade goons and a punching goon will appear from the FIRST AID building. Again, deal with these easy enemies like before and making sure that you don't get cornered by them. Jump kicks will help a lot. When you've defeated the enemies, move on. You'll see a milkshake on the ground, which slightly restores your health. Pick it up if you need it, otherwise save it for later. 2 axe-blade goons and a punching goon will appear. Once again, beat them down with punches, jump kicks, grab attacks, etc. After beating all 3, a rolling enemy will appear from the "OSAP" store. Use your punch or grab attacks to finish it off. When you're done, pick up the milkshake if you haven't done so then move on. You'll see a building with 5 symbols that is blocking a secret item, which is a 1UP. Go to the corner of the building and walk up and down, while pressing the punch button, until you find the 1UP. A punching goon and an axe-blade goon will appear, so defeat them. When you're done, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 2| ------ 2 axe-blade goons will come out to greet you, so teach them some manners. After beating them, 3 rolling enemies will appear from the "GAME CENTER" building. This could be tough if you don't kill them all quick. Use jump kicks to stay out their aerial flips and punch or grab attacks to finish them off. After that's done, move on. You'll find a cheese cake on the ground so pick it up if you're in need of health. 2 axe-blade goons and a punching goon will appear, so defeat them all. Again, don't get cornered by them. When you're done, move on. You'll see an SUV that can be destroyed if you keep using the punch button, but I don't see any significance in doing that. It's up to you whether you want to destroy the car or leave it as is. 3 punching goons and an axe-blade goon will appear, so take them out. After doing so, another punching goon will appear as well as a rolling enemy. Defeat them both and after that, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 3| ------ Move forward. You'll see a soda pop on the ground that restores a tiny bit of your health. 2 punching goons and a hammer goon will appear. Defeat them using grab attacks, punches, or jump kicks. Move on after killing them. A hammer goon, an axe-blade goon, and a rolling enemy will appear so defeat them like you've been dealing with the other enemies so far. When you're done, move on. 2 punching goons, a rolling enemy, and a hammer goon will appear. Again defeat them like before, making sure not to get cornered. Utilize jump kicks at your disposal, which will make things easier if you feel uneasy by using the punch button. After defeating the 4 enemies, an axe-blade goon and a hammer goon will appear. Defeat them using your usual tactics. When you're done, move on. You'll see a rose on the ground so pick it up, if you need it, to restore your health fully. The first boss battle of the game will also begin. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Hercules WildCat +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Oh my god, the first boss in the game and it's pretty hard! >< This guy will claw you with its vicious nails, which does good damage. When you knock this guy on the ground, the resiliant beast will get back up and will pounce at you. When that happens, QUICKLY move out of the way. Don't try jumping over him because he will hit you for sure. All this guy will do is approach you. What you have to do is walk around a bit to avoid him. Do your best to stay at a distance away from him and wait for the right moment to attack. Punches, jump kicks, and grab attacks work well. Remember that when you knock him on the ground, move out of the way when he tries to pounce at you. When he's back up and approaching you again, walk around for a bit again and wait for the right moment to attack. When he falls, move out of the way for his pounce. Now just repeat the process until this cat is vanquished. Level complete. You will now be graded by Tuxedo Kamen. Depending on how long it took for you to beat the level, how much damage taken, and how well you fought against the boss, you'll be given a letter grade from A to F. With A being excellent, whilst F being a utter failure. It's easy to get a B after beating the level, but getting an A is superb. ======= |Stage 2| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ As you begin, 2 punching goons appear to greet you. Defeat them like usual. After beating them, a whipping enemy will appear. To kill it, use jump kicks. You could try approaching it too, but there's a good chance that you'll get hit by its whip. So just use jump kicks to finish it off. When you're done, move on. You'll see a watermelon, which restores health, on the middle train track. Now while it might be tempting to go over and pick up the watermelon, DO NOT DO THAT! Because on the middle railway, a panda on a train will rush by and run you over. So stay on either the top track or the bottom. 3 punching goons will appear, so beat them down. When you're done you can pick up the watermelon, then move on. 2 punching goons and a VERY irritating clown goon will appear. The clown goon jumps around, making it difficult for you to kill it. And if you let it attack, it will do a spinning kick at you. Use jump kicks or other methods at your disposal to kill it. After beating the 3 goons, move on. Stay off of the top train track because the panda on a train will rush by. 3 punching goons will appear, so deal with them. When you're done, move on. 2 punching goons and a whipping enemy will appear. Take care of the punchers first, then deal with the whipper like you did in the beginning of this level. After defeating the 3 enemies, move on. Stay off of the bottom railway track this time because that panda will appear again. 3 punching goons will appear. Do not let them corner you. Utililze your jump kicks to push them back and use your usual tactics to finish them off. When you're done, move on. You'll see a chocolate cheesecake on the ground, so pick it up if you're in need of some health. A punching goon and a clown goon will appear. Defeat the puncher first, then go after the clown. Defeat the clown like before, using jump kicks or grab attack. After beating it, a whipping enemy will appear. Defeat it using jump kicks. After beating it, a fat clown enemy will appear. This one is tough because the fatso LOVES to slide at you. Jump out of the way to avoid his slides. When he's at a corner, hit him hard with your punches and grab attacks. If he tries to slide at you again, jump out of the way and fight back. When you're done, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 2| ------ A punching goon and a hammer goon will appear. You should be able to take them down easily. When you're done, move on. You'll see a chocolate cheesecake on the ground, so pick it up to restore some health. An axe-blade goon, 2 hammer goons, and 2 punching goons will arrive, so deal with them. When you're done, move on. You'll see a candy on the ground, so pick it up to restore a tiny bit of your health. 2 punching goons and an axe-blade goon will appear, so beat them down. After beating them, an irritating clown goon will appear. Once again, use jump kicks to beat him. After beating it, move on. You'll see a jello on the ground that restores health. A punching goon, an axe-blade goon, and 2 hammer goons will appear. Use your usual tactics to defeat them. Use jump kicks to keep them away from backing you to a corner. After defeating them, move on. 2 punching goons and a hammer goon will appear. Don't let them corner you to the edge of the yummy cake. Use jump kicks to keep them back and your usual tactics to defeat them. After doing so, a fat clown goon will appear. Once again, watch out for his slides. Jump out of the way to avoid them, then start hammering him with your attacks. Getting him to the edge of the cake and hitting him is an easier way to finish him off. Just keep tapping the punch button right near him until he's defeated. When you're done, move on. As you move down, 2 punching goons will follow you but ignore them until you can't move any further. Now defeat the 2 punchers using your tactics. When you're done, move on. A punching goon will follow you, but ignore him until you can't move any further. Another puncher will appear, so defeat both of them. After that, move on. You'll see a delectable cake (with a cherry on top!) on the ground that will restore your health fully. A punching goon and a fat clown goon will appear. Take care of the puncher first, then go after the clown. When you're done, move on and you will face the next boss battle! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Dream Doll +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- First of all, this boss will be accompanied by 2 hammer goons, which makes them your first priority. Get rid of them first, then concentrate on the Dream Doll. The Dream Doll is pretty easy. Her attacks are pirouete slashes and she breathes smoke at you. Both her attacks are easy to avoid. Basically what you have to do is walk around and avoid one of the 2 attacks she uses, then go up to her and attack. Each time she falls to the ground and gets back up, she'll teleport. Most likely she will teleport right behind you and perform a sneak attack. Do the best you can to avoid that and repeat the strategy until the doll is defeated. Simple as that. Level complete. After beating the level, Tuxedo Kamen will grade your character. I got a C. I hope you got the same letter grade as me, or better =) ======= |Stage 3| ======= When you begin, move right until a punching goon appears. Do not stand on the conveyor belt because they seem to slow you down. Defeat the goon as usual, then move on. 2 punching goons and a hammer goon will appear. Fighting in this part of the stage might be difficult because of the annoying conveyor belts. Try not to step on them and defeat the goons without getting into a corner. Use jump kicks to keep them off of you and grabs/punches to finish them off. When you're done, move on. Again, don't step on the conveyor belt. 2 hammer goons and a punching goon will appear, so deal with them using your usual tactics. After that's done, move on. This part is difficult because you have limited ground to walk on and there are conveyor belts on your left and right. Try to stay on the center at all times and do the best you can to fight off the goons. Pick up the soda if you need it. A rolling goon, hammer goon, and a kicking goon will appear. Use your jump kicks to prevent them from manipulating you. If things get desperate, use your super move to kill the goons. When you're done, move on. This part is even more difficult than the previous. The conveyor belts are all around you and you have a tiny bit of ground on the center of the belts, which will make fighting difficult. Pick up the restoration item if you need it. 2 rolling and 2 punching goons will appear. For this part, I would recommend using your jump kicks to finish off these goons, even though it may take a while. Or if you don't mind the conveyor belts slowing ya' down, then step on them and use your tactics to defeat them. When you're done, move on. 3 punching goons will appear. Thankfully there are no more conveyor belts on this part (except on the leftside of the screen but you have so much ground), so you can finish these guys off with ease. When you're done defeating them, move on. You're on a elevator now, but it won't lift off just yet until you have cleared out the goons. 2 punching goons, a kicking goon, and a hammer goon will appear, so take them out. Pick up the restoration item if you're in need of some health. After defeating them all, the elevator will start to rise. As it elevates to the top, a series of enemies will appear. First off, 2 rolling goons will appear. Defeat them like you did before. Remember to jump out of the way to avoid their rolls. After defeating the first pair, another pair will appear so beat them like before. After defeating the second pair, another pair will appear so beat them like before. After defeating the third pair, another pair will appear. Likewise, repeat your tactics and finish them off. After defeating the fourth pair, yet another pair will appear. Watch out, because this time around the rolling goons have much more health than the previous ones you've been beating. They're still easy though. Again, just use your usual tactics to finish them both. After defeating the fifth pair, the final pair will appear. Repeat your usual tactics. After defeating them, the elevator will come to a stop. Move onward. You'll find an item on the ground that gives you an extra 1UP! Pick it up to get an additional life, then keep moving on until the *boss* appears. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Fake Sailor Moon (Zoycite) +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Yup, this is the boss fight. You're up against a wannabe Sailor Moon who is actually one of the 4 negaverse generals, Zoycite, posing as her. What's interesting is that *Sailor Moon* seems to have the same kind of jump kick attack like the real Sailor Moon (if you are playing as her that is). She loves to jump kick and loves jumping a lot too, making it hard for you to attack her. Zoycite is accompanied by a hammer goon, so make him your first target. After it's defeated, focus on *Sailor Moon*. If you chose Sailor Moon as your character, then this fight is rather easy. Just match your opponent's moves with your moves. Even though the imposter seems to possess most of Sailor Moon's fighting skills, you can still outsmart her. Just stay away from her and wait for your chance to attack. Once you find the right moment, nail *Sailor Moon* with grabs, punches, etc. If you're not playing as Sailor Moon, then it's still an easy fight. Stay away from *Sailor Moon* and wait for the right moment to attack. Punches, jump kicks, grab attacks, they all work on this imposter. Just try to avoid her jump kicks and keep away from her until you find the right moment to attack. There is one VERY easy way to finish this imposter off without losing much health. All you have to do is knock *Sailor Moon* down at a corner. While the imposter is down, hold down the punch button until the power meter is fully charged. When *Sailor Moon* gets back up, let go of the punch button to use your character's projectile attack. This WILL hit Zoycite and she won't be able to avoid it. As soon as she falls on the ground, repeat the process of holding down punch and when she gets back up, let go of it and it will hit her. Repeat this and you will win. Level complete. After beating the level, Tuxedo Kamen will grade your character. I got a C. I hope you got the same letter grade as me, or better =) ======= |Stage 4| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ As you begin, pick up the star locket on the ground which will give you an extra life. Now start moving and 2 punching goons will appear. Defeat them both using usual tactics, making sure not to get cornered. When they are defeated, move on. An axe-blade goon, a punching goon, and a kicking goon will appear. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you and use grabs/punch combos at your disposal in order to defeat them. Once again, don't let them corner you otherwise you will lose a life. When you're done with them, move on. As you move on, pick up the data computer item that you see on the ground. It gives you extra points. Now keep moving and soon you'll be ambushed by a rolling goon, an axe-blade goon, and a punching goon. The rolling goon is very annoying and I say you should make him your first assignment. As usual, punches/grabs and jump kicks are the way to go. So you shouldn't have too much problems here. When they are defeated, move on. You'll see a watermelon on the ground that restores a lot of health. But I would suggest that you don't pick it up yet until you have defeated the enemies. A kicking/punching goon, an axe-blade goon, and a punching goon will appear. You've dealt with them before, so you have to do so again.Use the usual jump-kick and punch/grab strategies to wipe the floor with them. After defeating them, pick up the watermelon to restore your health, then move on. Another ambush will occur, in which case 2 punching goons and a kicking goon will appear. Once again, jump kicks and punch combos. You should know how to deal with these losers. When you are done, move on. You'll see a restoration item on the ground, as well as an ambush by 2 punching goons. Ignore the restoration item and concentrate on the goons. You should know how to deal with them. Use usual tactics. When they are defeated pick up the restoration item, then move on. A punching goon and a rolling goon will appear. Take out whichever one you like, preferably the rolling goon. After defeating both, a punching/kicking goon will appear. Once again, your usual punch/grab, jump kick attacks will finish him off. After defeating him, move on. 2 punching goons will appear, so take them out as usual. Move on when you have defeated them both. A kicking goon and an axe-blade goon will appear. Jump kick them to keep them away from ambushing you and use punch/grab combos to beat them. After beating those 2, a punching goon and a kicking goon will appear. Repeat what you did previously against those other goons and you'll beat these goons too. After beating them, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 2| ------ You'll be immediately ambushed by 2 punching goons as you are standing on a reversing walkway. Stay off of the reversing floor, otherwise the punching goons will easily gang up on you and defeat you. Defeat the punchers first, then pick up the milkshake to restore a bit of your health. Now all the 3 walkways are in motion. The first and third walkways are in reverse, and the middle walkway is moving forward. Proceed on the middle walkway and go slowly, for you do not want to get ambushed by the upcoming the enemies. 2 axe-blade goons will appear. Moving around while the floors are in motion can be difficult. Try to stay in the middle though. Use jump kicks to keep them away from ambushing you and use your usual tactics to beat them. After defeating the pair of axe-blades, another pair will appear from the rear. Once again, defeat them like you did the first pair. The middle walkway has stopped moving, making it slightly easier for you to move around. After beating them both, move on. Pick up the milkshake on the ground to restore most of your health. Now as you keep moving, the middle walkway starts to move again so proceed cautiously. 2 axe-blade goons and a punching goon will appear. Things are getting much tricker at this point because it's difficult to move around while the floors are in motion, and the fact that you have to defeat 3 enemies who have a lot of health. Don't feel bad if you lose a life or two here. It happened to me, but I never gave up. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you and punch/grabs to beat them. Do the best you can. After defeating all 3, stand on the bottom walkway (which has stopped moving) and move on. A punching goon, a rolling goon, and a hammer goon will appear. Again this will be a tricky situation. Keep using jump kicks to keep them away from you. I would suggest that you keep using jump kicks until all 3 are defeated. But it is up to you on how to defeat them. Your diligence will help you win against these goons, so be careful. After taking out 2 of the goons, an axe-blade goon will appear. After defeating the last 2 goons, move on. A punching goon and a hammer goon will appear to ambush you. You should be used to fighting like this by now (with all 3 walkways moving), so you shouldn't have too much problems. Use jump kicks and the usual punch and grab combos to beat them both. After defeating both, 2 rolling goons will appear. Jump away to dodge their aerial rolls and use punches/grabs to defeat them. After defeating them, move on. All 3 walkways have stopped moving. Pick up the cheesecake to restore a majority of your health and keep moving. 2 punching goons, a hammer goon, and a rolling goon will appear. Now that the floors have stopped moving, you can move around freely and have an easier time beating the enemies. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you and use punches/grabs to beat each one of them. After beating the 4 goons, a hammer goon and an axe-blade goon will appear. Take care of them using your usual tactics. When they are defeated, move on. All 3 walkways have started moving again, so be careful as you advance. A punching goon, an axe-blade goon, and a kicking goon will appear. Defeat them all just like you did when you fought all those other enemies while the walkways were moving. After defeating the 3 goons, a punching goon will appear, so defeat it. After beating it, move on. All 3 walkways have stopped moving. Keep moving and you'll encounter the fourth boss of the game! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Kunzite +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Just like Zoycite (aka fake Sailor Moon), Kunzite is one of the 4 generals of the Dark Kingdom/Negaverse. Kunzite is a difficult boss and I will try to do my best to help you defeat him. Kunzite fires bommerang projectiles at you, which are not hard to avoid. The only problem is that it's difficult to predict whether he's going to use that move or not. It doesn't do too much damage however. 2 hammer goons will come to Kunzite's aid by attacking you. Do the best you can to ignore the goon and concentrate on the boss itself. Now that the floors aren't moving, you should keep moving around and wait for the moment to attack Kunzite. Punches and grab combos work wonders on him. Kunzite also performs punches of his own, so be careful not to stay near him for too long. Most of the times, he'll counter your jump kicks by using an upper-cut. So just stick to using punches and grabs. If the hammer goons are really a bother to you, kill them first. Or you can use them as weapons by grabbing them and throwing them at Kunzite. The good news is that if you kill both hammer goons, then you can fight Kunzite freely without any interruptions. Either way, you can win this fight if you focus. Remember to stay away from him and wait for the right moment to attack. Good luck! Level complete. After beating the level, Tuxedo Kamen will grade your character. I got a D. I hope you did better than me :) ======= |Stage 5| ======= ------ |Area 1| ------ The final level of the game. Let us begin! As you start out the level, you will immediately be ambushed by 2 punching goons and a hammer goon. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you and defeat them each using your punch/grab tactics. After defeating them all, move on. A hammer goon, an axe-blade goon, and a punching goon will appear. Just like you did the previous enemies, use jump kicks to keep these enemies away from you and defeat them using usual motives. When they are defeated, move on. You will see a cheesecake on the ground so pick it up, if you need it, to restore full health. A rolling goon and a hammer goon will appear, so defeat them both. After beating them both, an axe-blade goon and a punching goon will appear. Defeat them using usual tactics. When they are gone, move on. You'll soon be ambushed by 2 axe-blade goons, a punching goon, and a hammer goon. Pick up the health restoration item on the ground if you need it, then deal with the goons. Use jump kicks to keep them away from ganging up on you. After defeating one of the goons, a punching goon will appear. After defeating another goon, another punching goon will appear. Remember to keep using jump kicks to keep them away from you. After defeating them all, a rolling goon will appear. Kill it, then move on. 2 rolling goons will soon appear and also 2 clown goons. You'll find Tuxedo Kamen's red rose on the ground which restores full health. Pick it up if you think you need it, otherwise deal with the enemies first. As always, use jump kicks to keep the goons away from you. I would take out the rolling goons first, as they are the bigger threats. Dodge their rolls by jumping away or counter them using your jump kick. Use usual methods to beat them. After beating the 2 rolling goons, a new rolling goon and another clown goon will appear. Jump kicks will be very helpful here, so utilize them. Try to take out the rolling goon first before dealing with the clowns. Punch and grab combos should also do you good. When they are defeated, move on. Pick up the red rose if you haven't done so. A rolling goon, an axe-blade goon, and a punching goon will appear. You should know by now how to deal with them, so I'm not going to tell you the same thing over and over again. After defeating them, the same trio will appear again. Defeat them like you did minutes ago. After defeating them, the scene will switch over. ------ |Area 2| ------ You will see Queen Beryl, the final boss, sitting on her throne. But you cannot face her just yet. For now, deal with her 2 hammer goons. Use your usual tactics (punches/grabs/jump kicks) to vanquish them both. After defeating the 2 hammer goons, 2 punching goons will appear. Deal with them the same way you dealt with the hammer goons. Use jump kicks to keep them away from you. After defeating the 2 punching goons, 2 hammer goons will appear. Repeat your usual tactics to defeat them both. Now without any more delays you will face the semi-final boss, PRINCE ENDYMON! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Prince Endymon +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Holy smokes! We have to deal with a brainwashed Mamoru here! Sailor Moon players may have a difficult time with him. "Mamo-chan!" Endymon can counter your jump kicks most of the times by raising his sword in the air, so don't try it. You'll have to rely on punches and grab combos. Unfortunately getting hits on him may prove to be a tad difficult. When he's knocked on the ground, he'll quickly retaliate by jumping mid-air and striking his sword at you. Quickly move away when he does that. If you are low on health while fighting him, pick up the chest to fully restore your health. See that chest-like item in front of Queen Beryl and her throne? Pick that up to fully restore your health. Like all other bosses, you should stay away from Endymon and wait for your chance to attack. He does numerous slashes on you, which really hurts. So do not stay near him for too long. I find it a lot easier to just use grab attacks on him and finish him off that way. Although it will take longer than using punch combos, it'll be a lot safer to use grabs so that Endymon will have a lesser chance of using his numerous sword slashes at you. Remember to move away when he gets up from the ground and jumps mid-air. After defeating Prince Endymon, Queen Beryl will now step in! Time for the showdown! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Queen Beryl +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Argh, this is hard! Beryl will be accompained by a hammer goon and an axe-blade goon. Try to ignore them and concentrate on the queen. Unfortunately for you, the queen will make it very difficult for you to damage her. She uses a thunder spell on you, which REALLY hurts. She also fires a dark crystal projectile at you if you are a distance away from her. Sometimes if you try to jump kick her, she'll block it. The goons may prove to be useful to you. You can grab them and throw them at the queen. Watch out! After the queen gets up from the ground, she'll come rushing at you with her thunder spell, so quickly move away. Staying away from her is too difficult with all her goons around. Here is a better way to beat her. As soon as you avoid her rushing thunder spell, quickly use punch combos/grabs to subdue her. When she gets back up from the ground again, she'll do the same rushing thunder spell attack. Move away from it quickly and use your punch/grab combos again. This is the best way to defeat her, but unfortunately it is also the trickiest. You may lose a lot of lives here, but keep trying. I know you WILL triumph over Beryl! Good luck! After beating the level, Tuxedo Kamen will grade your character. I got a D AGAIN! But hey, atleast the game has finally been beaten! Now watch the cool ending and enjoy the credits! Congratulations on beating Bishouju Senshi Sailor Moon, one of the best street-scrolling games ever made! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ X. Boss strategies ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ There are six bosses in this game, but there are 5 levels only. The following bosses are: +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- BOSS FIGHT: Hercules WildCat +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Oh my god, the first boss in the game and it's pretty hard!
