GAME OVERVIEW The 7-step plan. 1.) Space Combat ---------------- At each planet, you will first have to kill off all alien slugs in outer space before you can drop down to a planet. To kill them, play just like asteroids, turn around, use "A" to propel yourself, and "B" to shoot all aliens. When all of them have been defeated, you can then drop down to the planet itself. 2.) Drop Down To Planet ----------------------- Now that the outside slugs are gone, go to the Air Lock, which is in the center of the ship. Press "A" in the Air Lock and you will switch to the robot character, who is the only one capable of dropping to the planet. He then drops out of the airlock and lands directly on the planet. 3.) Read Secret Message ----------------------- On some planets, there is a secret message placed for you. It's inside of a little blue capsule with a flag hanging out. Press "A" near the capsue to read your secret message. These messages are helpful in completing your mission. 4.) Shoot Ground Slugs ---------------------- Now, the next step you must complete before leaving a planet is to kill all ground alien slugs. You've already killed the Space slugs, but now you must walk around and do the same with the ground slugs. Kill all of the alien slugs you encounter, and once they've all been removed from the planet, you will receive a confirmation from Fido. 5.) Collect Items ----------------- Once you have defeated all of the ground slugs, walk around the planet and pick up and miscellaneous items you may have missed while you were killing the slugs. There are also sometimes treasure chests, or boxes contaning valuable items. You can also get items sometimes after killing a slug, so keep your eyes peeled. 6.) Go Back Up To Dire Wolf --------------------------- Once you've defeated all ground slugs and collected all misc. items, it's time to return back up to the planet. Press Start and "ready" or "equip" the Fido Icon into your item carrier by pressing "A." Press "Y" to use the Fido Icon, it will call Fido and he will beam you back up to the Dire Wolf (ship). 7.) Deploy Transport Relay -------------------------- Once you've completed the first 6 steps above, you MUST deploy the transport relay on each planet in order to travel on to the next. To do so, go to the viewport, it will show the current planet you are on. Press "A" to deploy transport relay, which will open up the path to the next planet. =============================================================================== III. MANUAL OVERVIEW Description of the in-game guide. Menu Screen: On the menu screen, the MAP ICON activates the SKYWAY MAP*, the view icon activates the VIEWPORT, and the FIDO icon activates Fido, your guide dog. Transportation: If you want to transport down to a planet, stand in the AIR LOCK and press the "A" Button. If you want to transport UP to the Dire Wolf, ready the FIDO icon and press "Y" to call Fido for assistance. Healing Wounds: If you want to heal your wounds, stand in the FIRST AID STATION, ready a neenapod and press the "Y" button. Each time you heal, you use up one neenapod. Saving The Game: If you want to save your current game, approach one of the sleep chambers and press the "A" button. Space Combat: Press "A" to thrust the Dire Wolf (ship) forward, and use the D-Pad to steer and turn it. Once you acquire them, launch Space Mines with "Y" and Quark Torpedoes with "X." * I (Atma) will refer to the Skyway map as the Starmap. =============================================================================== IV. WALKTHROUGH After the title screen, you can choose either the boy character, girl character, or robot character, it makes no difference who you choose because the robot character will always be dropping down to the planets no matter who you choose. Once you've selected a character, you will talk to the General via a large TV Screen. He will explain what's going on and says he needs YOU to help. You will have to pass 3 very easy tests, in fact you will always pass them, no matter what. The first test is your Physical Condition, the general will take your temperature and it will always fill up to the top, and he will say you are hot for the job. Just a little humouric value in the game. The 2nd test is also a cinch. Press "A" whenever you see a slug on the screen. Once you press it on 3 slugs you will pass that test, you cannot fail any of these tests, by the way. The 3rd and final test he puts you through is nothing but writing your name. Type your name and that's it. He automatical makes you a 21-star general on your first day! You are ready for gameplay. Once you are inside the Dire Wolf (ship) walk UP from the Air Lock to the main screen. Here you will talk to Fido, your guide dog, he will give you some useful information on playing, and give you your first mission. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 1 Mission Order: Procced to Planet Hornbeam and rescue Secret Agent from invading slugs. -------------- PLANET DETERIA -------------- Items: Smart Bomb x1, Neon Sign x1, Ancient Artifact x1 Slugs - On planet : 04 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: If you've got any Star Fuel Drums you can blow up weakened walls. If not, come back later. Signed, Agent Myra LaBrasse. Okay, first off you'll have to do Step 1, which is to kill all space slugs preventing you from dropping down to the planet. Turn your ship in all directions and use "B" to fire and "A" to thrust, kill all little space slugs you see wondering around the planet. Once you've killed them all off, Fido will congratulate you and you can then drop down to the planet. Head over to the Air Lock, and press "A." You will transform into the robot and then drop down onto the first planet, Deteria. Once here, search around the planet. You will find about 2-3 big slugs, shoot each one multiple times, and it will divide into 2 smaller slugs, kill those and collect any items they leave. Do the same thing with all other slugs you find on the planet, and once you kill them all, Fido will give you confirmation that you have done so. The little spider enemies on this planet do not count as slugs, but they do get in the way, so kill them. Right now, you won't be able to collect any items in any boxes because you need the Star Fuel Drums (which you get later) to blow up the weak walls blocking you from reaching the boxes. So once you've killed all slugs, head back up to the Dire Wolf (ship) by pressing Start, putting the Fido Icon into the main item carrier and press "Y" to beam back up. Now that you have finished with this planet, go to the ViewPort. Once here, press "A" to deploy transport relay, opening up the path to the next planet, which is Arborea (north from Deteria). -------------- PLANET ARBOREA -------------- Items: Neenapod x1 Slugs - On planet : 04 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Secret Message: I'm on the next planet, please hurry, I need to talk to you. Signed, Agent Myra LaBrasse. First things first, you'll have to destroy the space slugs again. Turn your ship, "A" to thrust, "B" to fire, and kill all invading space slugs, once they've been defeated, Fido will congratulate you, and it's time to drop down to the planet. Head to the air lock, and press "A" to change into the Robot and drop down to planet Arborea. Once hear, read the secret message right next to you. This planet is sort of a jungle like planet with lots of trees. After reading the secret message, search the planet for the slugs. Remember, in each planet you will only see 2 main screens, if you continue to walk past these screens you will just keep seeing the same ones over and over again. So don't think you are travelling over a huge planet, just two or three main screens over and over again. Some of the slugs are hidden in between sets of trees making them hard to shoot at, but you will only have to kill about 4 or 5 slugs before you get rid of them all. Once you've done so, scavenger around for misc. items on the planet, then beam back up to the Dire Wolf using the Fido Icon. Now, go to the viewport, and deploy trasport relay, which will open up the path to the next planet, which is what I call the "goal planet" because it's the planet you have been trying to reach in order to complete your mission. Once you finish with this next planet, Mission 1 will be complete. Head north and east to the next planet in line, Planet HornBeam. --------------- PLANET HORNBEAM --------------- Items: Power Pack x1, Ancient Artifact x1 Slugs - On planet : 07 - Dropped off: 04 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: I'm somewhere on this planet. See ya soon! Signed, Agent LaBrasse. Okay, first off, you'll have to do the normal, defeat the space slugs which are blocking you from dropping down to the planet. On this planet you will notice that the space slugs travel faster and in greater numbers here, that's because this is the goal planet and it needs to be protected greatly. Once you kill them all and get Fido's congratulations, it's time to drop to the planet. Step into the Air Lock and press "A." You will again turn into the robot and drop down onto Planet Hornbeam. Read the secret message right next to you, then scavenger the planet for ground slugs. You will see Agent LaBrasse inside a little place, but she refuses to talk to you until you defeat all the ground slugs. So search the planet and kill off all the slugs, then once Fido has told you they are all gone, head to where Agent LaBrasse is, you'll see she is enclosed inside a room and there is a big door blocking you from getting inside. So go around the left side of the room and open up the box you see for an item. Then make your way to the back of the room where you will find a box in the center. Open it to get a Battery, and then step over the switchand press "A" to open up the gate. Now go back to the front and inside to talk to Agent LaBrasse. She will thank you for saving her life and then tell you a dark secret. We are losing the war. She then tells you about the 4 machines (Quantam Mechanics) that the slugs are out to destroy, and if they succeed reality will soon be gone. Your job is to find and repair them. She then asks you if you will do the job, say yes. She then gives you her spare Slug Detector. And she finally gives you the Sunshine Electrokey which you need to unlock the Electronic Chip for Fido to open new parts of the galaxy on the map. It also reveals one of the 4 Quantam Mechanics machines. She then says that Fido will help find the planets and asks you if you understand. Say yes, unless you want to her to explain it again. She then leaves you. Scavenger the planet and find any items you missed, then beam back up once you are done. Mission 1 Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 2 Mission Order: Find and acquire new Starmap Chip. ------------ PLANET ARGON ------------ Items: Power Pack x1 Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Okay, once Mission 1 is complete, go to the Viewport and Deploy transport relay so you can gain access to the next planet. Once done, go back to the Skyway map, and move to the next planet to the east, which is Planet Argon. Remember, you _can_ take other routes, but you want to take the easiest and shortest route, which is what I've included in my Walkthrough. Upon arrival of Planet Argon, you won't have to fend off the space slugs, but you will instead automatically deploy transport relay. What's so great about that? You don't have to drop down to the planet! If you want to drop down, by all means go ahead, but you will never finish off all the slugs, because the never stop appearing. Instead of dropping down, just to go the Skymap and head to the next planet, which should be accessible because you deployed transport relay when you first arrived. If it isn't accessible, go ahead and go to the Viewport, receive and redeploy transport relay and the next planet will be accessible. ----------- PLANET BARX ----------- Items: Power Pack x2, Spy Fly Egg x1 Slugs - On planet : 02 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes Okay, back to the normal stuff now. Go to the next planet down the line (East) which is Planet Barx. In the beginning, as usual, you will have to fend off the invading space slugs so you can drop down to the planet. There will be about 3 of the space slugs. Once you have them killed, leave the main screen and head back to the air lock. Drop down to Planet Barx, and you will be introduced to a new enemy (unless you dropped down to planet Argon, this enemy is new to you.) Please note, this new looking enemy is NOT a slug and you do NOT have to kill it in order to kill off all the slugs and leave the planet. So what's the point of them? They sometimes contain items, such as neenapods (for healing), they also make the game tougher. :) Go through the planet and collect all the items in boxes (batteries) and kill off the slugs. Once they're all gone and you have gotten most or all of the items, beam back up to the Dire Wolf. Head to the Viewport, deploy transport relay, and get back to the Skyway Map for the next planet. ----------------- PLANET AGGREGARIA ----------------- Items: To be found Slugs - On planet : 03 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Secret Message: Someday you'll earn a Combat Suit Module that will help you fly to other asteroids. Meanwhile, don't worry about them. Okay, time to fend off the space slugs. There will be about 2 of them this time, once you've killed them, head back to the air lock and drop down to planet Aggregaria, a very nice looking planet indeed. You will be set on one solitary rock with a monster slug and the secret message. There is only one big slug to kill here, when you shoot it it turns into one regular slug and one small slug. Kill the small slug, and then shoot the regular slug to turn it into 2 smaller slugs, kill them and that will be that for the slug killing part. Once you've picked up any items in boxes and killed the big slug, beam back up to the Dire Wolf and head over to the Viewport so you can deploy transport relay and get ready to head to the goal planet of this mission. --------------- PLANET ARCTOS 1 --------------- Items: Neon Sign x1 Slugs - On planet : 06 - Dropped off: 04 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: See that door? That's an entrance to a vault made by the Quantam Mechanics. Be careful inside. As usual, the goal planet will have more space slugs and they will travel faster than usual. Once you've killed them all off, head back to the air lock and drop down to the Arctos 1 planet. As the name "ARCtos 1" suggests, this is an arctic type planet with ice and snow. Go around the planet and kill any slugs, once they have been destroyed another batch will be sent in from the air. Kill all of these and that's that for the slugs. From where you killed the last batch of slugs, you should come to a large body of ice. You will have to try several times to reach the top open area, and once you do, you can slide straight down to the bottom open area. Once here, slide either to the left or right (so you don't hit the block in the middle) and you will come to the door the Secret Message was talking about, but it's closed. Ready your Electrokey by pressing Start, and "A" on the key. Then press "Y" to use it on the door. It will unlock and open the door, allowing you to go inside. ---------------- STARMAP VAULT #1 ---------------- Once inside, the robot will use his arm to slide along a pole over a bunch of gears and land on the other side. Go right, and when you come to a path down, don't go down, instead go through the small opening on the right wall. In here, you will find a normal slug, a small slug, and an electric enemy, kill them are while taking as little damage as possible. Now go through the door that's open and the next door will automatically open as you walk through it, but close once your through it. In here, you will find a normal slug and a treasure box. Kill the slug, and open the box to collect a Red Key. Now, leave out of this room back into the room where you saw the electric enemy. In the top right corner you will find a door. Ready the Red Key by pressing Start and "A" on the Red Key. Now press "Y" to use the Red Key on this door to open it. Now, go right and down the open doorway into the next room with a door and a normal slug. Kill the normal slug and go down through the open door where you will find another treasure chest. Open it to get another Red Key. Go through the open door and left through the next, in this room you will find yet another normal slug, kill it. At the end you will find the door that leads back out to where you started. Go north and through the opening on the right where you first went. Now you can open the door in the top right corner with your new Red Key. Ready it by pressing Start, press "Y" to use it on the door and it will open. In this room, you will find an orb shaped electric enemy and a normal slug, kill them and go through the north door. In here you will find another treasure chest, containing another Red Key. Now, go down and through the door, go down into the next room and through one of the previously locked doors, and then head right, and then up, until you arrive at the room with the orb shaped electric enemy. Now go right, and down through the other open door. Once your at the end of the long corridor, head right and ready your Red Key. Unlock the door and go through it to reach your first mini-boss. Before fighting it however, check the two storage compartments, as you have a chance of finding a random item. To kill it, shoot it about 30 times in the head (green part) and try to avoid hitting its shield, as that will defend against your attack. Also try to avoid its fire, as it is reasonably powerful at this point in the game. Once you've defeated your first mini-boss, head up and through the now open door and open the chest to pick up Starmap Chip #1. Now to finish this mission off, just beam back up to the Dire Wolf and your done. Mission 2 Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 3 Mission Order: Find and acquire a new Combat Suit Module. Once Mission 2 is complete, head out to the viewport and deploy a Transport Relay. A good idea now would be to go and get the shiny medal so you can get your suit upgrades. Move right on your starmap and arrive at the planet with the Shiny Medal. ***************************************************** A suit upgrade is when you go see Sergeant Slack, and he upgrades your suit so it has more HP (hearts), can hold more PP (Power Packs) and can hold more items (up to your current rank). In order to get on his good side, you must give him a medal. ***************************************************** --------------- PLANET DILAPIDO --------------- Items: Neon Sign x1, Spy Fly Egg x3, Smart Bomb x1, Power Pack x1, Slugs - On planet : 11 - Dropped off: 08 Fast Food mark: Yes The first thing you'll probably notice once you arrive on the planets surface, is the Spirit of the planet. Some planets have one of these, and they generally give you something you'll like or need. There is a new item on this planet, the smart bomb. It renders you invincible for as long you are controlling it, and it is pretty powerful. Kill all the slugs on the planet, and then kill all the slugs that are dropped off. Return to the Spirit of the planet and receive his planets *Greatest* treasure, The Shiny Medal. The Spirit will dissapear after you've got the treasure. Return to the Dire Wolf once your done on this planet. -------------------- SPACE STATION BOUNTY -------------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No This is one of the most important places in the game, Supply Specialist Slack resides here. He will provide you with suit upgrades, but your on his bad side, and the only way to get on his good side, is to give him a medal. Since you just found a medal, hand it to him and he will be promoted back to sergeant again. Now he will upgrade your suit for you. Once you've shown him your Status Star, head back to the Dire Wolf. ------------- PLANET EAZZEE ------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x1 Slugs - On planet : 05 - Dropped off: 06 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: Some day you'll be able to use these Fast Food marks to fortify planets against attack. Meanwhile, don't worry about it. Did you leave that transport relay back at Planet Hornbeam? You did? That's good, because the planet just beyond that is your destination. Planet Eazzee is not as dense with slugs as the last planet was, but this planet has some water for you to travel around. This planet is rather easy, but there is a planet that you will soon go to that is a like this one, but harder. Kill the slugs and check for the item then leave for the next planet. ------------- PLANET MOLDOR ------------- Items: Power Pack x1, Spy Fly Egg x1, to be found Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Secret Message: Someday you'll earn a Combat Suit Module that will help you Push and Pull heavy objects. Meanwhile, don't worry about them. Nothing of interest on this planet that you can get right now, so just continue on your journey to the goal Planet. -------------- PLANET ROSWELL -------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x2 Slugs - On planet : 06 - Dropped off: 06 Fast Food mark: Yes This is just a regular planet, nothing of interest, and occupied by slugs. Kill the slugs and grap the eggs. The eggs can come in handy later in the game. ---------------------- SPACE STATION COMMERCE ---------------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No For now, just drop off a transport relay, because you'll need to come back here when you have what the Black Market Max wants, a Brass Lamp. Head back to Planet Deteria (you remember where that is right?). Well if you dont, its just to the left of the Space Station Bounty. ------------ PLANET SCRAG ------------ Items: Power Pack x1 Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Nothing of any interest on this planet, just deploy a realy and move on to the next planet. ----------- PLANET SNAG ----------- Items: Ancient Artifact x1, Power Pack x1, Spy Fly Egg x2, to be found Slugs - On planet : 10 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Notice something about this planet? It has a Spirit. First things first, kill all the slugs, then talk to the Spirit, his planets *greatest* treasure is pretty special, it's the Brass Lamp. Don't rush right back to Black Market Max, as you will need to come back here soon. So beam back to the Dire Wolf, and deploy a Transport Relay, and head down on the starmap. --------------- PLANET ALTAIR 4 --------------- Items: Smart Bomb x1, Ancient Artifact x1 Slugs - On planet : 04 - Dropped off: 08 Fast Food mark: No Secret Message: If you've got any Star Fuel Drums you can blow up loose slopes. If not, come back later. This is another ice type planet, but strangely enough, it has no ice on it. Kill the slugs, and check the secret message if you want, and the proceed to beam back up, deploy a Relay, and move on to the planet to the south (lower right) of Altair 4. -------------- PLANET MEANDER -------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x2, Neon Sign x1 Slugs - On planet : 12 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: Some day you'll be able to use these Fast Food marks to fortify planets against attack. Meanwhile, don't worry about it. This planet has another person you will need to speak to in order to complete the mission. You may not need to speak to him now, but he holds a key item to completing the mission. Once you've landed, you will notice a person standing there, thats Bargain Bob. Now head down and right over the bridge, then down as far as you can go and right over another bridge. After you are over it, head down yet again, and then left, and you will find a switch. Press "A" on the switch to activate it. Now, proceed to kill all the slugs that you can find, and then find your way to the door which you opened earlier. Head through it, and kill the last few slugs left. Once your done, return to the Dire Wolf, and head back to the Space Station Commerce. ---------------------- SPACE STATION COMMERCE ---------------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Head inside the space station, and go straight up when you have the choice of going either left, right, or up. Now go left, then up, then left again and down through the door. Head up, and destroy the orb electric robot if you want, then head down throught the door, and then head to the far right door, and go through it. Head right, and go up the second corridor, and then continue through that corridor, until you see Black Market Max. Speak to him, and give him your Brass Lamp. In exchange for this, he will give you a Diamond Ring, which you need to get another item for him. If you have any Ancient Artifacts, give him 1 or 2, in exchange for some tokens (500 tokens per Ancient Artifact). Head back to the Dire Wolf, and then go back to planet Meander, where Bargain Bob resides. -------------- PLANET MEANDER -------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x2, Neon Sign x1 Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes If you have been here before, which you should have, if you have been following the walkthrough, there will be no slugs here. Just head over to Bargain Bob, and and give him your newly acquired Diamond Ring. He will give you a Silver Spoon, which can be exchanged for a Combat Suit Module. If you have some tokens, give him some, and he will give you the Fast Food Permit, which will come in handy later. Now head back to Space Station Commerce. ---------------------- SPACE STATION COMMERCE ---------------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Head back to Black Market Max and give him the Silver Spoon. He will give you Suit Module #1 as a trade. Press start and head down to the suit configuration area, and move the now in place suit module (press "A") next to the Power Icon (lightning bolt). Just press "A" on the other, not filled modules to move them, and put Module #1 so it connects with the Power Icon. This will make the icons go orange, signifying that the suit is powered. Return to the Dire Wolf and your done. Mission 3 Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 4 Mission Order: Restore the Sunshine Machine. ------------- PLANET FOLIUM ------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: Some day you'll be able to use these Fast Food marks to fortify planets against attack. Meanwhile, don't worry about it. This planet is just down from Space Station Bounty. Head to it, so you can go to the two planets the have not yet been mentioned in this walkthrough. There is nothing of interest on this planet, at all. Just deploy a relay, so you can move to the other planets. ------------- PLANET VAKOTA ------------- Items: Power Pack x2 Slugs - On planet : 04 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Nothing really interesting on this planet, but you can come back a few times if you want to stock up on power packs. Head back to planet Folium, and then to the planet just beyond that, planet Aquaria. -------------- PLANET AQUARIA -------------- Items: Power Pack x4, Neon Sign x1 Slugs - On planet : 02 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Secret Message: Someday you'll earn a Combat Suit Module that will help swim to those islands. Meanwhile, don't worry about them. This planet is one which is almost totally water, which is why it wasn't mentioned before. Meanwhile, be careful! No real need to explore the surface of this planet, as there is not much there but pools of lava which damage you. deploy a relay, and move on to the goal planet. ---------------- PLANET TROPICANT ---------------- Items: Power Pack x1 Slugs - On planet : 17 - Dropped off: 06 Fast Food mark: Yes When you first approach this planet, you will encounter a horde of slug ships, but that's normal on a goal planet. Take out this rather large amount of ships, and make sure you have got that last suit upgrade. There are a lot of slugs on this planet, and you can't open the Quantum Vault until all the sulgs are dead. Kill all the slugs around the planet(use the slug detector if you can't find a few) and take out the remaining ones that are dropped off. After you've taken them out, select the Sunshine Electrokey, and open the vault. ---------------- QUANTUM VAULT #1 ---------------- Once inside the vault, head right, and then down and speak to the mechanic. He will open a door for you somewhere. Once you are done speaking to him, head up and kill the slug blocking your path, and then continue. You will reach a plus symbol on the ground, and you should be able to see a minus symbol on the screen aswell. Press "A" while standing on the plus symbol and you will be picked up and moved to the upper pathway. Once you are up there, go right and up through the first door. Once inside, head right and press "A" while on the minus symbol. Go into the first room, and kill the slug, then head out the right exit then head up and right. Head up somemore and then go up to the next level using the plus symbol. Go all the way to the left, then use the minus symbol to go down, and enter the room and open the chest. It contains a Red Key. Head out of this room via the upper exit, and then move around to the minus and head down to the lower level. Follow this around to get back to the entrance, then leave this screen. Once back on the upper path on the main screen, head right and hop down on the first minus, and had all the follow the path all the way round until you reach the door farthest to the left, then enter it. Once inside, kill the slug inside and then head out the left exit, and into the next room. Kill the slug inside, then head up to the next room, and proceed to kill the slug inside there. Head through the lower path exit to reach a door locked with a red key, and use your Red Key to unlock it. Inside that room is this Quantum Machines Quantum Crank. Exit this screen the way you entered it, as it is the fastest and most efficient way to get out. Back in the main screen, head back to the right until you reach the plus symbol, use it and then go to the upper level. Instead of going through the door just above where you are, go down and use the minus symbol. Once on the lower level again, go right and use the plus symbol to go up again, then enter the door above. Once in the next screen, use the minus, the head to the main walkway, then head right and walk through the first room while removing any slugs that block your way. exit the room from the top exit, and continue until you reach the Quantum crank sockets. Use your Quantum Crank on both of them, and then head on the right path first. Open the chest to get the Igniter, which you will use frequently during the game. Now head back to the left pathway opened by the Quantum Crank. The chest in there contains a Blue Key, which you need in another part of the Quantum Vault. Head to the exit of this screen by way of either the way you came, or by going up from the room with the Blue Key in it and then going around the outside path. Back in the main screen, go to the minus, and use it then head right on the lower level to the plus. Use it and then head as far left as possible until you reach the first minus. Use it and talk to the Quantum Mechanic if you want. Continue up and use the plus, then head right and use the minus. Go Right and use the first plus then enter the door to the top. This screen is a pipe puzzle. First go through the right pipe, then go up through 2 pipes, then down through the next 3 pipes, killing any slugs in your way during the process. Head up through the right pipe, which will lead to a pipe locked with a Blue Key. Use your Blue Key to unlock it, then had through it to reach a room with a triangle switch. Step on it and press "A" to activate it. Head back to the room which you came from, and go through the right pipe. In the next room go through the right pipe again to reach a room with a now open door, that was locked with the triangle button. Once through the pipe, you are faced with a choice of 4 pipes to go through. Go through the pipe to the left, and press the square button. This will close the door locked by the triangle button, since only 1 button can be presses at a time. Head back into the small room to the right and then go through the bottom pipe, back to the room with the triangle door. Go down and go through the now opened square door, and go through the pipe. In this room, you will find a slug and 3 pipes at the bottom to go through. Kill the slug, and go down through the right pipe, to reach a small room with the circle switch and a slug. Press the switch then backtrack to the previous room, and go through the center pipe. this will take you back to the starting room. Go through the now open circle door pipe and into a room that has 5 Star Fuel Drums. Keep exiting and re-entering the screen until you have the maximum amount of Star Fuel Drums that you can hold. Now that you have everything you need, a good idea would be to leave the Quantum Vault and return to the Dire Wolf for healing, because you should always have the maximum health for Sultan of Slime Boss Battles. Once your healed, return to the Vault and head up to the upper path again, then go down the far right minus, then go up the next plus again, then back down the next minus. Head to the head to the right, and go up the plus. After this is done, head down and to the left and go down that minus. Head left and go into that large door. Once inside talk to the Quantum Mechanic and he will open the door which leads to the Sultan of Slime for you. ************************* SULTAN OF SLIME BATTLE #1 ************************* In this chamber, there are 2 Star Fuel Drums and a Neon Sign. The strategy for the first boss battle is to aviod his attacks, while blowing up some Star Fuel Drums very close to him. Be sure not to get yourself in the range of the Star Fuel Drums, as they WILL damage you, unlike the Smart Bomb. You only need to hit him with about 15 Star Fuel Drums before he runs off. After you have defeated the Sultan of Slime, go to the final area in this Vault which is just beyond the door at the top of the screen. Talk to the Quantum Mechanic, and then stick a Star Fuel Drum in the kiln, and blow it up. If you don't have any, just return to the previous screen and pick a couple up. Now talk to the Quantum Mechanic again, and he will tell you about his brother Clyde, who runs the Orbit Machine. He will then give you the Orbit Electrokey, and then disappear. Go back to the Dire Wolf and the mission is finished. Mission 4 Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 5 Mission Order: Find and acquire a better Starmap Chip. -------------- PLANET DELTA 5 -------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x1, Neenapod x1 Slugs - On planet : 07 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Now that you have finished the first Quantum Vault, head over to Planet Dilapido and deploy a relay. Head up from planet Dilapido to get here. Nothing much of interest, but it leads to a planet that has a useful item for later. Just clear off the slugs and continue to planet Jonatello. ---------------- PLANET JONATELLO ---------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x2 Slugs - On planet : 12 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: Yes This planet has a Spirit, thats why I said to go this way. This planet consists of mostly water, so make sure you have a few spare power packs, and the Slug Detector equiped. The Spirit gives you a very useful item indeed, a MultiMesh Gear. Try to get as many of these as you can, due to the fact that there is something not too far away that uses them to make you Transport Relays, as long as you have some Relay Kits. --------------- PLANET MARKANIA --------------- Items: Spy Fly Egg x2, Ancient Artifact x1. Slugs - On planet : 05 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No Secret Message: Heres something I found for you! *5 Smart Bombs* The real thing of interest on this planet is the 5 Smart Bombs given to you by the other secret agent. But this planet has its bad side. It has an enemy which eats you, so to get out of it, just tap "A" and "B" a few times. -------- Planet X -------- Items: Ancient Artifact x1, Power Pack x1 Slugs - On planet : 12 - Dropped off: 04 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: If you've got any Star Fuel Drums you can blow up weakened walls. If not, come back later. As the goal planet, it, again, has a greater amount of slug ships guarding it, so destroy them and move to the surface. Once on the surface, be sure to have at least 3 Star Fuel Drums, since there are 2 walls, and 1 pile of rocks that need to be destroyed to progress. First, blow up the wall nearest to where you start, as this is needed to kill off all the slugs. Now kill the slugs in the corridor your in, and then head go down and head through the door near where the message was. Kill the slugs in there, Once you have defeated all the slugs, ---------------- STARMAP VAULT #2 ---------------- Once your in the vault, head to the right, and kill the slug in your path. After its dead, continue right, then head down, and use the plus. Once on the upper level, go right and use the first minus, head down and to the left, and open the chest to get this vaults Quantum Crank. Now head to the left and use the plus, then the minus, then head up to return back to where you started. now, head back to the right, and go up this time. Now use the plus and then head up some more, and take out the slug in your way. Proceed to the far right minus, and use it to go down. Once on the lower level, you will see a Crank Socket, so select your crank and use it there. This lowers a section of path that leads to the mini-boss room. Now go down and continue going left using the plusses and the minus until you reach the same path that you were on before. This time use the first minus instead of the second. Follow the path around to the next plus, and when you are on the upper level, use the minus to go down and then use the left plus. Open the chest to get the Red Key, which allows you to get into the mini-boss room. Follow the path around to get back to the upper path where you can see 2 plusses. Instead of using the minus, continue right then go down, and use the right minus, and then ready your Red Key, and follow the path until you get the the door locked by a red key. Once in the mini-boss room, you will see a slug ship. To destroy it, either drop a couple of well placed Smart Bombs onto it, or try to get two well placed Star Fuel Drums and try to get them to explode just as the ship moves over it. If, by some strange turn of events, you don't happen to have either of these, just avoid the ship and try to shoot it about 75 times and it will blow up, opening up the door to the chest contaning Starmap Chip #2. Now that you have it, just return to the Dire Wolf and your done. Mission 5 Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISSION 6 Mission Order: Proceed to Planet Stonewall and investigate distress call. ------------ PLANET TWEED ------------ Items: Spy Fly Egg x1, Smart Bomb x1, Power Pack x1 Slugs - On planet : 06 - Dropped off: 09 Fast Food mark: No Now that you have a more advanced starmap, have a look around it and you will see 4 Black Holes, and a space station with an 'F' above it. This space station is Space Station Caloric, which is Fast Food Headquarters. Well back to the planet. This planet is a normal planet, and its surface is similar to that of planet Meander. The space fight you have, has a slug ship that you haven't seen before. Its more powerful then the general type slug ship, and takes two normal shots before blowing up. On the planet, there is nothing of much interest apart from the new look slug. It's a four slug, and it shoots you with powerful attacks, which take off roughly one third of a HP bar, so take it out with Neon Sign's for a fast kill, or shoot it a few times to seperate it to a large slug. Once all slugs are dead, move right on the star map and continue to planet Nectaroon. ---------------- PLANET NECTAROON ---------------- Items: Power Pack x1, Neenapod x3, to be found, to be found. Slugs - On planet : 12 - Dropped off: 08 Fast Food mark: Yes Secret Message: Someday you'll earn a Combat Suit Module that will help you Push and Pull heavy objects. Meanwhile, don't worry about them. This planet has a lot of slugs on it, and some water as well. first clear out the land mass your on, then move to the other land mass. Clear them both, let some more drop off, kill them, and your done. Now you can move to Space Station Caloric. --------------------- SPACE STATION CALORIC --------------------- Items: None Slugs - On planet : 00 - Dropped off: 00 Fast Food mark: No This is Space Station Caloric. Inside you will see a machine. This machine will allow you to be a part of the fast food business, IF you have the credentials. If you gave Bargain Bob 500 Tokens as stated earlier in the walkthrough, he will give the required credentials, the Fast Food Permit. If you have this though, give it to the machine, and it will let you buy Fast Food Franchises. These are really useful, as they INSTANTLY kill ALL slugs on a planet, and fortify the planet against future invasions. I suggest buying as many of these as possible, as they are really helpful on goal planets. They cost 500 Tokens a piece to buy, so get find some Lucky Charms and sell them to Bargain Bob, and continue to do this until you can get no more Fast Food Franchises. Okay, now that the first little side quest is over, another is there to take its place. this side quest is a mission to upgrade the Dire Wolf. Those Black Holes have equipment that fido can use to upgrade the Dire Wolf, but that equipment is guarded by trolls. The trolls hide in the Black Holes, and the fastest and most efficient way to kill them is by using some Smart Bombs. Lets start with the three Black Holes surrounding Space Station Caloric. Head to whichever Black Hole you choose. The Trolls can have any upgrade item, as the items are obtained in a specific order. Pick a Black Hole and drop down to fight the troll inside. Just hit it a couple of times and it die, leaving you the Ion Engine. Now Take another Black Hole, and take on that troll. Kill this troll using the same method you used for the previous troll*. This troll will leave you the Hydraulic Servo. Now take on the final Black Hole in this area, and kill the troll in it. It will leave you the Vector Shield, which is what you really need. For now, this side quest is over. * Note that this method is used for killing all trolls as they get progressively harder as you go along. It kills a maximum of 2 slugs if a slug touches it. Stock up on them! Fatal Sign - Damages a normal slug, unknown how many are needed to kill the Sultan of Slime. Spy Fly Egg - Useless if you dont have the Incubator. Smart Bomb - A really powerful weapon, renders you invulnerable while you have control of it. Use it to kill trolls. Mission Order - Your Current mission order, ask fido about it if you forgot what your current mission is. Health Fruit - This is a Neenapod, ready it and press "Y" while on the first aid mark in the Dire Wolf. It restores your HP. Fast Food Permit - Credentials that allow you to enter the Fast Food business. Show it at Fast Food Central. FF Franchise - Use it on a FF sign on a planet to kill ALL slugs on the planet, and protect it from future attacks. FF Unit - Its a hamburger, but its healing power is not as good as a Neenapod, but you can use this in the midst of battle. Useful during battles with the Sultan of Slime. Shiny Medal - Give it to Supply Specialist Slack to promote him to Sergeant. Gaudy Medal - Give it to Sergeant Slack to promote him to Fleet Captain. Slug Detector - Points you in the direction of living slugs. Operating Manual - Instructions on how to play the game. Star Fuel Drum - Since its Star Fuel, use it as a bomb. It can be used to blow up broken walls, and crumbling mountains. Set it off with the Igniter. Igniter - Ignites Star Fuel Drums. Relay Kit - Will become a relay when assembled. Multimesh Gear - Give it the the Relay Producing Machine, and it will be able to make you some Transport Relays from Relay Kits. Iron Ore - Ore that needs refining. Refine to make a Steel Ingot. Steel Ingot - Refined Iron Ore. Use it to make a Pile of Parts. Pile of Parts - Once a Steel Ingot. Use it to construct a Combat Suit Module. Guiding Light - Allows you to see hidden paths: Glows a yellow/gold colour when on a hidden path. Glows a pale green colour when not on a hidden path.
