------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------- [TRANSBOT/ASTRO FLASH] ------------------------ ---------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]--------------------------- ------------------------------- [ Sega Master System ]------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o Trans Bot or Astro Flash as it is known in Japan is a game that is not worth playing. I'm only doing this for the SMS Completion Project. The game is really a SMS card slot game which is rare considering most SMS games were cartridges. For a game that loops after two levels forever, it's only fitting that it goes on a card. o---------------------o STORY o---------------------o It is the Solar year 2000. The Nuclear War has just ended and civilization is striving to restore what was lost as a result of the conflict. The civilians left their underground fallout shelters and began to rebuild a new world atop the ashes of the war marred past. With new communities and even technological breakthroughs in transportation technology, the Nuclear War survivors began to prosper once more. However, unbeknownst to the people, there is evil looming in the air. Dalaus, an artificial intelligence super computer has also survived the Nuclear War. Dalaus was used and programmed by enemy with the sole purpose of destroying anything and everything. In the time the survivors used to rebuild Dalaus had built up an entire subterranean empire and an invasion army ready to destroy the survivors once and for all. The survivors were caught off guard and didn't stand a chance as Dalaus' army ripped through the many metropolises that the people worked so hard and passionately to rebuild. The defense force is a fleet of CA-214 models, which are sophisticated astroplanes capable of transforming into a humanoid battle mech. With universal munitions applications, it would seem that the survivors would have defeated the Dalaus invasion. However, Dalaus had corrupted many of those who had been placed in military positions by the survivors. They destroyed nearly every single CA-214 and assassinated nearly every pilot for the ships. Only one pilot survives and manages to escape with his life and his CA-214 or TransBot. That lone TransBot pilot is you. o---------------------o WEAPONS o---------------------o There are 7 weapons total A = Default Weapon B = Ring Laser C = Wide Laser D = Torpedo E = Triple Shot F = Front n Back Shot G = Ammunition Aside from A, you have limited ammo for the others. G will refill them if you collect it. o---------------------o WALKTHROUGH o---------------------o Level 1 - Shoot the waves of mines. The first few waves have steep wave arc and the next two waves have a smaller arc. Get the weapon from the truck to get a random weapon and shoot down the saucers as you avoid the bullets they fire and get another weapon from the truck if you choose and shoot the squares. The mines will eventually come back again but their pattern changes up and they are tricky to avoid as they will wave in then wave back out. Another truck and thus another weapon will appear. Shoot or avoid the missiles flying by then take out some of the enemies that look like green balls with red rings. After another weapon, you only face a couple crosses and some more mines with a couple missiles thrown in. Get past those and you go inside the space station. Level 2 - Shoot the diamond saucers on top as you avoid the bottom ones as they rocket towards you then shoot the saucers you or drop towards you if you decided to take on the bottom ones instead. After facing them and the ball saucers from level 1, watch out for gtreen saucers coming from behind as they shoot at you. The ringed enemies from level 1 will come from the front. Be careful when you're flying around them. Now every enemy you faced in this level will perform an all- out assault. In random waves. Get past them and face the final boss which is a space walker that shoots bullets at your current position. Aim for the "head" of the walker as you avoid it shots until it dies. If it gets too close, fly behind it and wait for it to back up. After the this, the game repeats itself with increase in difficulty. But I'm not going to end the FAQ here just yet. There are a couple things I'll point out in the repeat part of the game not covered in the first two levels. Enemies in the previous run will appear much earlier in subsequent runs. In the 2nd run of the 2nd level, you will see several new enemies that hadn't appeared in the game yet including what looks like a ring wave. There's also a set of molecules and even a wall of skull mounts that the default weapon will push back a segment of the wall. Other weapons will destroy the segments altogether. The spinning squares also show up here too. The boss is still the same. There is no end to this game. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o GameFAQs and other sites for hosting this FAQ.
