The game that is being FAQed is Snail Maze which is a secret game built into early versions of the Sega Master System. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Snail Maze and its characters are trademarks of Sega and all copyrights belong to them. This FAQ/Walkthrough is the sole copyright of Andrea "Azul Fria" Castillo aka IceQueenZer0 and can't be put on other sites or posted without given permission nor can it be reproduced w/o proper consent. o---------------------o CONTROLS o---------------------o D-pad = Move in that direction o---------------------o GAMEPLAY o---------------------o Round 01 -------- Time: 60 From where you start, go up and at the third opening, go right and work your way up. Just before you get to the top, go right and go through the snake path. At the end of the snake part (which has you going down), go right and down at the wall and work your way down until you are within open space. Head right and go up at the wall and keep working your way up and to the right until you cannot go in either of those two directions. Go left then up and hang a left at the first opening you see and worm your way to the top from there. Go right and you are home free for the goal. Round 02 -------- Time: Remaining time + 30 seconds From the start, get to the open area and start working your way up (if it ain't a wall, don't turn unless it's up). Just before you reach the top, don't turn up at the top section, just run into the wall then you will be in a fixed path that takes you down. Like before, don't make any turns unless you hit a wall or it leads down. At the bottom, go right and ignore the first upward turn and go up the second. Ignore the first turn and when you reach the next open area, go to the right and this path leads you down. Once again, ignore any openings as you make your way to the bottom and then to the top and right. At the top, ignore the upward openings then snake to the right and working down and ignore any open turns until you reach the very bottom. Go right and go up the first opening and the goal is within reach. Round 03 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Start off working your way to the right then you will go through a small snake section. Once out of that, go right and then go down. Ignore the opening and you will go through a long forced path when you ignore openings as they lead to dead ends. When you get to the point where you have an open path, go down and go left at the first opening for another forced snake path where you will work your way to the left and when you hit the big wall, go down and the rest is history. Round 04 -------- Time: Remaining time + 25 seconds Ignore all open turns as you work your way to the bottom right corner. Go up from there and go left at the opening and work your way downward and to the left then go proceed to work your way up as the path is fixed for the most part. When you can't go up anymore. Go left and on to the goal. Round 05 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Work your way down the very left side. When you are near the bottom, go right at opening and run into the wall and go down, right, and up. Go down the stairs to the right. Keep working to the right until you hit the wall that forces you to go up. Now head all the way to the top as possible which you would be forced to going to working your way to the lower right. Go up after the second opening and it will a fixed path to the exit except towards the end but you can see that for yourself. Round 06 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Start off going right and go up the first opening you come across. At the next opening, head right again and ignore all turns until you come across an opening that forces you to go up or down. Go down. Once again ignore all openings except the one in the lower right which you will turn right and continue down a fixed path and then go down the first opening you come across and sprial to the exut. Round 07 -------- Time: Remaining time + 30 seconds At the start, go down and to the right at the dead end. Ignore the first turn and go up the second one and at the next intersection, go right. When you go up again, turn right at the next intersection. Hit the wall and go down to the very bottom and as you go up, go right at the first opening you see and snake your way down then go up the next opening. Except for the first opening (which you go right), ignore all openings and you have a clear path to the goal. Round 08 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Go right and hit the wall and continue down the clear path. When you reach an opening, go up the first one you come across then go right at the next opening. At the next opening, go up and ignore all turns and when you get near the bottom center, go right at the opening before the bottom one. Along this path, you will get to a point when you get to the top and then go right then down at the wall and right again. When you hit the wall, go down and make a quick right. At the next opening, go right and through the fixed path then go right the next one and on to the goal. Round 09 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Work your way down the left side and when you get to the first opening which is near the lower left, go down and make a quick right. The next opening you should worry about won't be until you are forced to go up or down in which case you go up. The path to goal is mostly clear as you can obviously see the dead-ends in plain sight. Concentrate on staying as hight as possible until the forced path leads straight to the goal. Round 10 -------- Time: Remaining time + 35 seconds Once again, most of the paths leading to dead ends are obvious. For most of this maze, you only need to turn when you hit the wall. There are only two exceptions to this concept. Once you have bumped your way through to the middle left, while the next dead end may look obvious, I'll just tell you go down at the that spot instead of continuing right which leads to an upward stair dead end. Work your way to the bottom and start moving normally (turn when you hit the wall in the only direction you can. When you are a few inches below the goal. Go right into the opening and there it is. Round 11 -------- Time: Remaining Time + 10 seconds Except for the upper left, you will want to stay at the very top of the level for the majority of the level and come down only when forced to and then go back up the first chance you get. Once you find yourself going "downstairs" at the very right. Do not go up to the top this time and go right and the path will take you down. Ignore all openings that lead to the bottom of the maze and go right and go up all the way to the goal. Round 12 -------- Time: Remaining Time + 15 seconds Go down and hand a right into the second opening.
