I started playing this game for the SMS Completion Project and enjoyed it enough to decide writing for it. Both games took me a day each to complete them. I would not recommend playing either game longer than round 20 or 30, as the games will start to repeat themselves. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this guide and the game as much as I enjoyed writing the guide and playing the game. =============================================================================== Contents =============================================================================== To find a section quickly, press "Ctrl"+"F" and copy the string of text in the square brackets. 01) Marksman Shooting ............................ [MTS05] =============================================================================== 01) Marksman Shooting [MS01] =============================================================================== You are a FBI Agent testing out your accuracy with a gun. You have to shoot enough targets to meet a required percentage to continue with your accuracy test. Failure to meet the requirement will result in the FBI test ending. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01A) Starting the Game [MS01A] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To start this game, shoot the "Marksman Shooting" area on the menu. In the pack with Safari Hunt, it is located in the middle. Without Safari Hunt, it is located at the top of the screen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01B) Gameplay [MS01B] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This game requires a light gun. The controls are simple, just point your gun at the screen and fire. When aiming in this game, you want to aim slightly to the right, as the game registers the shot slightly to the left of where you aim. You need to shoot the red dots on the target's chest to count as a hit. It is a good idea to shoot the targets in the order that you see the red dot on the target to give yourself a good chance of getting 100& accuracy. The bottom-right corner of the screen displays the Round Identifier and your current score. Not much to really note here, as you get that information once you finish the round anyway. O---------------O O----------O | 01B1) Targets | | [MS01B1] | O---------------O O----------O There are 6 targets in this game. You do NOT need to worry about any targets that you need to avoid as this game does not have them. Target 1 = Worth 500 points. Scrolls from the left side of the wall in the bottom-right corner and exits in the bottom-left corner. This target will expose the red dot in the same place. Target 2 = Worth 500 points. Comes from the left side of the screen. It will stop before exposing the red dot and then wait for a couple of seconds. If you have to hit the red dot soon, it will exit in the same method it came in. Target 3 = Worth 500 points. Comes from the right side of the screen. It will stop before exposing the red dot and then wait for a couple of seconds. If you have to hit the red dot soon, it will exit in the same method it came in. Target 4 = Worth 1000 points. In the middle of the screen, to the left. These targets will pop-up when ready and go down in a similar fashion. Target 5 = Worth 1000 points. In the middle of the screen, to the right. These targets will pop-up when ready and go down in a similar fashion. Target 6 = Worth 1500 points. This target comes into the screen from the top-left corner and exits from the top-right, with the red dot being exposed at the same place all the time. In round 0, there are a couple more targets that are not common in the rest of the game. I do not know if you can shoot them and am unsure how much they are worth when a shot connects to their red dot. Target 7 = Very fast target that comes from the top-left to the top-right. Target 8 = Starts at the left side of the wall in the bottom-right corner and heads to the right. Turns when it reaches the bottom-right corner and then teleports to the bottom-left corner for a second before disappearing. O--------------O O----------O | 01B2) Rounds | | [MS01B2] | O--------------O O----------O Here is the percentage requirement for each round in the game: 1 = 50% 2 = 60% 3 = 61% 4 = 65% 5 = 66% 6 = 67% 7 = 70% 8 = 71% 9 = 72% 10 = 75% 11 = 76% 12 = 77% 13 = 80% 14-99 = 82% A0-A9 = 82% B0-B9 = 82% C0-C9 = 82% D0-D9 = 82% E0-E9 = 82% F0-F9 = 82% G0-G9 = 82% H0-H9 = 82% I0-I9 = 82% J0-J9 = 82% K0-K9 = 82% L0-L9 = 82% M0-M9 = 82% N0-N9 = 82% O0-O9 = 82% P0-P5 = 82% 0 = 1% After you complete round 0, the game loops back to round 1. Most of the game has no real difference (excluding the total targets in the earlier round is slightly less than about round 20 onwards. The only noticeable difference in a round is round 0, with two new targets for you to attempt to shoot, although you still get a couple of old targets to allow you to easily get through the round. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01C) After Each Round [MS01C] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the round has finished, you will be presented with a screen like this: .-----------------------. | | | TOP NNNNNN | NNNNNN = Highest recorded score | SCORE SSSSSS | SSSSSS = Your current score | ROUND RR | RR = Round Identifier (e.g. "1", "65", "A8") | | | TOTAL TARGETS TT | TT = Total amount of Targets you could have hit | NUMBER OF HITS HH | HH = Number of Targets you actually hit | TOTAL HIT RATIO AA% | AA% = Percentage of Targets you hit | | | TO QUALIFY QQ% | QQ% = Percentage to pass the round | | '-----------------------' Depending on whether or not you got enough of the targets to continue will depend on whether or not you are told to continue to the next round or that the game is over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01D) Scoring [MS01D] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this game, you score points by shooting the targets in the red circle on the target's chest. Depending on the target, you will get 500, 1000 or 1500 points with a successful shot. Here are the enemies and what amount of points they will give you: 1500 Points = Travels from left to right across the ceiling 1000 Points = The two targets that pop-up near the back wall 500 Points = The three remaining targets not mentioned here The maximum score you can have recorded is 999500. However, this is dependant on whether you actually get the score to land on 999500. If you get a score like 999000 and then get an extra 1000 points, your score will reset and the high score will stay at 999000 until you get 999500, so please do not E-Mail me saying that you only got 999000 or 998500 as the high score and that I am wrong about being able to get 999500 as the highest recorded score. As mentioned in the last paragraph, once you reach 1000000, your score will reset to 0. =============================================================================== 02) Trap Shooting [TS02] =============================================================================== In this game, you are a person who is target practising on clay pigeons. You have to shooting a specified amount of clay pigeons to move on to the next round and sometimes to a new location. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02A) Starting the Game [TS02A] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To start this game, shoot the "Trap Shooting" area on the menu. In the pack with Safari Hunt, it is located at the top. Without Safari Hunt, it is located at the bottom of the screen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02B) Gameplay [TS02B] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This game requires a light gun. The controls are simple, just point your gun at the screen and fire. When aiming in this game, you want to aim slightly to the right, as the game registers the shot slightly to the left of where you aim. As long as you hit the clay pigeons, you will get points. In the bottom-left corner of the screen, you will see the round number you are on and your current score. The bottom-right corner displays how many bullets you have left. You are provided with three bullets to destroy two targets each time the clay pigeons are launched. Unlike Marksman Shooting, you know how many targets you need to hit to continue to the next round. The blue box at the bottom of the screen has a yellow arrow that points to where you need to reach to continue. To reach to the yellow arrow, you need to shoot the clay pigeons to fill up the blue box with red discs. Any misses will be displayed as a white disc in the blue box. The game will end after all ten discs above the blue box has gone and the white boxes go past the left side of the yellow arrow. O---------------O O----------O | 02B1) Scoring | | [TS02B2] | O---------------O O----------O There are two tiers that affect the scoring. After a change from "tier 1" to "tier 2", the clay pigeons also become faster. tier 1 = Just launched - 500 points A couple of seconds after launched - 700 points About to land on the ground - 1000 points tier 2 = Just launched - 1000 points A couple of seconds after launched - 1200 points About to land on the ground - 1500 points The maximum score you can have recorded is around 999000 (unsure on the exact figure). Like Marksman Shooting, this is dependant on what score you have displayed before the score resets itself. I have got a score of 998700 and the score rest after I got another target. O--------------O O----------O | 02B2) Rounds | | [TS02B2] | O--------------O O----------O You start on round 1. When you finish round 99, you get to replay round 99 again. I do not know whether or not the game will reset itself back to round 1 if you play round 99 enough times, but I would assume that the creators of the game would have implemented the same system as Marksman Shooting if that was the case. Round 1 - 4 = Field background, 6 targets destroyed to advance, 1 clay pigeon launcher, tier 1 scoring system. Round 5 - 8 = Beach background, 7 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 1 scoring system. Round 9 = Beach background, 8 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 1 scoring system. Round 10 = Desert background, 8 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 1 scoring system. Round 11 - 12 = Desert background, 8 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 2 scoring system, clay pigeons are faster than before. Round 13 - 14 = Desert background, 9 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 2 scoring system, clay pigeons are faster than before. Round 15+ = Lake background, 9 targets destroyed to advance, 3 clay pigeon launchers, tier 2 scoring system, clay pigeons are faster than before. =============================================================================== 03) Contact Details [MTS03] =============================================================================== E-Mail: games_ps2_pc[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk Subject: Marksmen/Trap Shooting Guide NOTE: Replace "[at]" with "@" and "[dot]" with "." to make the E-Mail address a valid E-Mail address where I will receive your message.
